The Task at Hand | Episode 4

ABOUT THIS EPISODE

This week's episode features a program that has made a step forward with each and every year since entering the league. For the Vermont Lumberjacks, there is just one goal in mind, and that's the 2020 Frozen Finals.

Jim Mosso is the Head Coach of the EHL team, and serves as the General Manager for the entire organization, overseeing the Eastern Hockey League Premier (EHLP) team as well.

In his second full season with these responsibilities, Mosso has learned more and more with every game and every practice. On this week's episode, the two-time EHLP Coach of the Year talks about adapting from the playoff losses, and working towards earning more time together as a team.

Joining Mosso on the podcast this week, are two of the biggest contributors to this year's success, Logan DiScanio and David Reduzzi. Each player has followed their own path to this point, with this being DiScanio's third year with the Lumberjacks and Reduzzi in the middle of his rookie campaign.

While no other organization is located further north than the Lumberjacks, the team embraces the challenge and feels the extra time spent on the road only helps the group grow closer to one another.

Welcome to the east show with Neil Ravin. With over onezero NCAA commitments, the ehl is the proven path to college. Turn it up and learn more about the college placement leader at the division two and three levels. Welcome into the east show. My name is Neo Raven. This is season one, episode number four, brought to you by GEL stakes, the official training aid of the east show, and a welcome in half of the e crew. This week, Jeff cannot make us for the interviews. So, Brittany, the EHL showcase series is officially come to a close, with the EHLP showcase taking place this past weekend and Worcester. Are you all cut up on your sleep now? I suppose we'll go with that answer. Yes, eight showcases down. All that's left now for big events is the EHL frozen finals. Will start making our way around the east show. Now it's time for this week segment of around the e show and welcome in this week's guest on the podcast, a team that would like to be at the ehl frozen finals come march, the Vermont Lumberjackson. We're going to welcome in first the head coach and GM, Jim Masso, and then players, Logan to Scanyoh and David Reducey, anilow's going. Thanks for having us. Thank you appreciate it. Thanks for having us on the POD. All Right, Jim, we'll start with you already twenty eight wins so far this season. That's already a franchise record from what you had in the previous years. This is your third year as the head coach of the team, second full year. Is this where you expected to be at this point of the in the season? Yeah, I thought we had a chance to be somewhere near here. You know, we've gotten better a little bit each year. We had a really good group of veteran returners from last year season that kind of learned a lot last year. I really liked who I we identified when we were recruiting and brought in. So I had a good indication early on that this was going to be a group that would be, you know, potentially be near the top of the League at this point. Yeah, and Logan, this is your third year with the team. Compared to the past two years, what do you think is different about this year's group? I would just say each year I've been in Vermont it's been going up in a good way, wins, the environment, everything. But this year's definitely the best team I've ever been on. It's the closest that I've met, that I've been with on the team and it's most fun I've had playing hockey in the whole life so far. And, David, for you, while it's logans thirty with the program, it says your first year. Was it the recent success that attracted you to go to Vermont? Yeah, definitely, the successful season they had last year played a big role. And then on the offseason, coach Mosso is really good about staying open with me, good communication, and you showed me that yet to me. So it's like really good fit, fell like home. Ever I chose to play here and then back to Logan. So we just touched on some of the you know, the wins and the losses, the franchise record for wins so far this season. But then off the ice, how obviously in the program progress over the past few years. A lot of things have happened from the first time I've got here till now. We have a full time strength coach that we meet two to three times week. We do film to twice a week, almost the practices are just more intense now with coach mile. So just complete three hundred and sixty from my first year here to right now and back to David. So you guys are the most northern program in the EHL, which means you guys have to go on bus trips for basically every game. How do you think that helps the team chemistry? It's huge. We spend a lot of hours on the bus, a lot of hours away from the ring together. So I think, like low wind said, you know, this bond that we have the the guys in the locker room is definitely one of the closest teams I've ever been on. So we have a really good culture on and off the ice, and that's...

...a great transition. Because, Jimmy, you and I have talked in years past how you would prefer to play on the road. You feel that your team is more focused on the road. It's different from any home games. And then my question for you really is how has that helped your recruiting, that aspect of things, and knows, as the League has progressed as well as recruiting got easier for you? Yeah, definitely has, I think for two reasons. One, you know when I first got to Vermont about for five years ago, you know, we kind of had to clean slate and start from the beginning. You know, we didn't really have any returning players. There was few local Vermont players that wanted to play juniors or even really knew what junior hockey was, you know, so we had to find a way to go out and find players and in the beginning years it felt like I was, you know, kind of begging players to come play for me. You know, and then over the course of the success of the program getting better each year, we you know, sent more kids to school every year and then, you know, in combination with the League also getting better. You know, I think being in the EHL as a whole is helped a lot. I would say, like if you just look at all the teams that are the top teams, I would say, in the northern conference right now. You know, anyone of six teams if the championship series started tomorrow, I think any anyone of six teams in the north could win it. You know, the south is getting stronger. I think there's four or five teams today in the south that that have an opportunity to win. You know, so I think the lead, the strength of the League has helped our recruiting efforts and for the first time when I recruit, you know, this is the this is the first time I've been a in Vermont where kids are calling asking to come play here, you know, and and it seems to be easier to find good players when you have good players. Last year we had between the EHL and EHLP team, I think we had thirty returning players in the organization, which was a record high, and you know, all those kids had a good story to tell and you know that they got their buddies back home that maybe didn't have a good experience in a different team or different league that were now excited about the EHL. So as as the League succeeds and all the college commitment numbers we get as a whole, you know, it's definitely getting easier and easier to recruit and I think that's a big reason why we have the caliber of team that we have today. And you test on the premiere team a little bit with that answer, and that's a level that you spent a few years with as well, and you were twice the EH LP coach the year. Similar to the players when they sometimes start in the EH LP. How did that time help you develop as a coach and prepare you for the ehl level? Well, that that, you know, that level was definitely a new and exciting adventure for me because my first time as a head coach really I got my first taste of what a general manager duties were. No, I was recruiting players, you know, as filling a roster by myself for the first time. So so I really had to kind of cut my teeth and what junior hockey is, you know, and then learning how to, you know, be detail oriented, learning how to create a culture, you know, learning how to you know, there was some really good coaches, especially those days in the premiere, many of which are now the the head coaches at their respective ehl teams now, you know. So it's a really tough, tough environment to survive in and it made it pushed me as a coach, you know, and then two years ago I ended up taking over the EHL job. You know, last year was my first full season in the EHL and I think that team last...

...year I would owe a lot of my success to where we are now with this team, to last year's group. You know, last year I actual, actually thought we had a really, really talented group of guys right from the beginning and we had huge expectations right away and for whatever reason we were battling just to be a five hundred team up until Thanksgiving, you know, and I kind of had to had to learn how to coach at this level. It was a little bit different. I brought some tools that I learned from premiere to the HL, but there was definitely another learning curve I had to go through as a coach. You know, we we went through three or four different four checks, we went through three or four different power play setups. I got to about Thanksgiving and realize, you know what, like I need to start over, I need to go back teaching fundamentals. I need to implement what I want to teach in layers and then build on top of those. So I kind of had to regroom my philosophy as a coach in the Eh and I think that team last year kind of created the template for success. They created the daytoday habits and I feel like because of all the returners we have, we have ten, ten EHL returners. Five premier players moved up and we brought in seven key players over the summer that I thought could fill those big roles. You know, I really felt like an extension of last year's team and I think that team went fifteen and two over the second half of last year kind of led right into the success early on this year. And I think just kind of learning from the obstacles I've been through in the past and a lot of those obstacles I went through with these players so they knew what to expect and how to navigate the different parts of the year and I think this is the you know, this group just has put it all together. And now transitioning back to Logan and David. So, David, as from a rookies perspective, what would you tell a future junior hockey player about the lumberjacks program as a whole, just about the organization in general? Like we have a great set of staff. We've got a two great coaches, we have a great strength coach, like the scanning mentioned, we have a physical therapy place like. They give us all the tools that we need to succeed and you really get what you put it. Like put into it. So nothing but the best here and then from a veterans perspective look. And what would you tell the junior hockey players coming in about staying patient through their development process? Yeah, I would definitely just say you have to find a program and a coach at trusting you and something that you believe in, and then you just have to stay patient, trust the process and these colleges, most of them want that twenty one year old freshman. So just be patient and just the process. And I think that segue was a segways us well into our final topic, a juicy topic with what's on tap for this upcoming weekend. So I'll start with Jimmy. I'm going to go two questions. We'll start with the first one. We kind of already touched on this a little bit. When did you know this year's team was special? Well, you know, at the end of last year we had the interviews, like the exit interviews, with each player, and I had ten players I identified that were eligible to return, that I really wanted to come back, and all of them, right away during the interview, looked me right in the eye and said, coach, like, I'm coming back, I'm not looking around, there's no other league at rather being there's no other place. That rather play. We fell one goal short of making into providence last year, which really kind of grinded us. You know, I think the group of vets that we have have a major chip on their shoulder from last year and know most of them actually moved up to Vermont halfway through...

...the summer to train early together as a group. Know, the five players that we moved up from Premiere I had past experiences coaching, so they kind of knew how a detail oriented I am. The structure, the culture, they understood the work ethic, the compete level that we expected. You know, they're very familiar with the whole you know, the accountability of the program. They don't show up late. All those details that we feel a really important to success as a whole. They have already been brought into you know. So in the summer identified only really had to find six or seven players that I felt could properly, you know, fulfill those holes that we needed. And you know, I didn't have to go find a whole team. I didn't have to talk to hundreds of players to find ten. I just was a I was fortunate enough to be selective and try to find the right guys and I spent a lot of time identifying the right players and we just sent happened to happen to succeed and getting the players we want it, you know. So I think right from the recruiting the end of the recruiting season, I knew we had all the tools to be successful and then sometime around October to November, you know, just the environment to compete level. These kids. They push each other to be better. You know, we don't. We don't necessarily get better through trading guys in trading guys out. Like we have a competitive atmosphere here and they make each other better and I think when I saw in October and November that we were just way ahead of we're last year's team was in terms of what I wanted to teach them and what they were getting out of it. Now I knew and I knew in October we were definitely onto something. So it feels really good to be where we're at right now. We have a ways to go, you know. I'm looking around the league. There's a lot of really, really tough teams that we're going to have to find a way to win if we want to make it the providence. So we're preparing we're preparing, learning a little bit from what made a successful last year, a little bit from, you know, kind of where we got caught last year. Definitely trying to find a way to get to the top two so we can get the first round by, which I think hurt us a bit last year. So just trying to learn from everything we've been through as a group and doing our best to put us in a good situation to make it as far as we can and you could say maybe that first round by if you were if you can grab that this year as opposed to last year. That's the difference between that one period against the wizards. It was really a phenomenal playoff series and what stood out to me was immediately afterwards. I know Connor Carbo is already moved on to college halfway through the season. That's stick taps to him for that. That's always cool when a player can advance to college in the middle of the season. But always remember he posted on instagram. I forget the exact words, but he said something to the effect of, you know, that's one hell of the season, guys, can't wait, can't wait to make it to providence next year. Is that for you? Like making it to Providence. Is that a successful season? Is it making to the championship game? What is the moment where you get to that point and you say, all right, the year was a success? You know, I think personally this is my favorite group I've ever been around in hockey. You know. So it's like one of those teams where you can just tell you don't want it to end, and you know so I you know, if we don't make it to Providence, I will be severely disappointed. But once we get to Providence, just just fighting for every every day that we get to spend together. You know, we would like to win the whole thing, you know, but I think part of that is this is the best year in hockey I've ever had. At you know, I wanted, I want Im, to cherish...

...what we have. I wanted to go as far as we can go and you know, as a player, some of the teams that I remember the most are the teams that win, you know. So you know that always makes it extra special if you can find a way to get that done. And transitioning to the big series, you guys have this weekend Logan. Obviously this is the first time you guys are actually playing the Rangers this season. It's a one in two matchup. What did you guys as mentality going into this whole hyped up weekend? We just try to take every game the same. We can wake out. We know who the Rangers are. We've seen them play a couple times this year, but we know if we stick to our game plan that we have that will be fine. And then for David to help wrap a wrap this up. You know, it sounds like for you guys it's just a regular week and it's not number one verse number two. For Yourself, personally, you're coming off a stretch for yet a shout out against the seahawks and then showcase wise, you played well against the rough riders and the sevens. Then you go home and continue to shine against the sea coast spartans. How do you not let the moment get to you as a goaltender in the hype of playing the top ranked team in the League? Yeah, we just as a group. I believe that we just come in collectively with the same goal in mind. You don't try to hype anything up too much. You know, or personally, I go into a game just trying to give the team a chance to win and our DCOR is really strong, probably the strongest chore I've Ever Played On. So the guys in front of me make it a lot easier than the other always have it, so I'm really lucky for that. Well, there you have a folks. They are the Vermont lumberjacks. It's actually both the EHL and EHL P teams heading down to Tukesbury this weekend. The schedule for the Games. On Friday the EHL teams match up first at thirty. That's the free game of the week on Hockey TV. EHLP teams play right afterwards. Are Probably about thirty forty start. They'll flip flop. On Saturday eh L P plays forty five, followed by the ehl at two hundred and fifty five. One big thing that I personally am watching for this weekend the rangers, the least penalized team in the league, going up against the best power play in the league. Over twenty seven percent and fifty six powerplay goals so far. It should be one heck of a series and thank you guys, for your time. We'll see you in twokesbury. Thanks for having us now. Thank you. Appreciate thank you. Thanks again to the lumberjacks for jumping on the pod this week. Will continue going around the east show now, but first welcome in the second half of the e crew. Sorry, Chiff, you couldn't make it for the interview this morning, but I'll ask you kind of a similar question that I asked Brittany. Are you all caught up on sleep since the Bruins game there night? Ah, yeah, pretty much, Neil, you know, is long day. Had some POLKA dressing out of gigs and then I have my own business on the side, so I had to do a lot of work today. But we're here and thanks for having sorry, coach Mosso when the game that? I couldn't make it this morning. So we're all cut up on sleep. We won't lose it again until Providence. But that comes with the frozen finals every year. We know that going into the event. But we'll keep going around the east show. Of course. We touched on earlier Brittany and I a little bit. This past weekend was the fur of the final showcase of the season and it was the at the EHLP level. We got a decent amount of snow but a number of great games right Brittany right a number be JR sweat the weekend. The wolves swept the weekend two teams that are now in the power rankings. Well, the wolves were already in it, but they have moved to one and Bjr is now welcomed in. Welcome coiner and squad, welcome in. The Rangers offense looked excellent at the showcase on Ryan Bailey is very good with with with quick math here I was nineteen goals and three games. So going into the showcase, though,...

...it was so wild was the eighty seven s were number one, on an eleven game winning streak. The avalanche for number two. They were on a streak of their own. To first place teams, the wolves, as pretty mentioned, they were already in the power rankings at three, but for both the avalanche in the eighty seven's to drop two of the are three games like that, it's just a huge shake up. To what they call him not good. Yeah, and coach Karen and gave us that look to Neil. We saw them both before he exited and that was something that for all the fans that didn't join us on the episode that had the eighty sevens in it, go listen to it. He kind of prefaced it right. He told us, all three of us, that his team has difficulty with the showcase scheduling of the Times, and we saw that again. I actually had their first game against the Express and they lost sport to to and they really just couldn't find it all weekend long. But kind of falling with the theme that we've had for this season as far as the parody is concerned, and kind of a kind of a good thing. I mean for US sitting from in front of our microphones and doing all of our league duties, not so much for coach Karen in the bunch. But it's you know, the showcase showed that there's some other teams that are still sticking around there trying to make some noise in the late season. And the big thing that he said back to that interview, which was episode two. If if you want to go back and listen to episode two, please do that. He said no excuses. You know, no excuses. But for us, you know as m in the easiest schedule, we know what to expect and they every game they were in was closed. It's just they were on the wrong side of some some hot goaltenders and being a little bit snake Ben trying to find it back in the net. Yeah, and that's the thing. I mean, that's exactly what you just said, neils. They lost that for to game that I had the pleasure calling was Blie Ball P on an empty neck goals. So I mean technically it's a it's a three two loss, but you know, Vermont, that was they they want. They won against Wallpole from right. Great Loss, disgusting shootout goal. Thanks so. So the broadcast that was on them. I was George and George came at me right afterwards and he goes, I totally messed up that call and I go what do you mean? You messed it up? He goes, well, I thought he fan on the pocket. Thought he just lost control. I go no, it's it's called the Kucher off, like that's some wople heat he's pulled off. He goes, see if you can cut my audio out of it and just play it with no sounds. They'll make it look a little bit better actually, Britney, thank you for your correction. I called, as you guys always know, I always call a million games in the showcase weekend. So sometimes they all kind of blend into each other. That was Vermont, not while Pole, and that was actually just doing a quick little segment, but I'm not sure if we're going to talk about it in detail. But Alex Herman, the goaltender for the Vermont Lumberjacks hlp team, actually at the pleasure of joining me on the Rye, the pleasure of having him on joining me for a couple of games and then his last game he actually did play by playing. He did a very, very good job. What a week and it was for him. He starts the first game of the showcase and plays recording banks, forty saves, named only of the week, calls a number of games, then that's play by played for the last game. I know it, I know it's a deal. I know I didn't end that one particularly the way that he wanted it to for Vermont. But traditioning to the EHL, of course, this past week was one week removed from the final showcase of the season and eggs are not as many teams in action, not too many upsets. The one upset that I guess you could say really stood out was that apple core seven to six shootout victory over the revolution. It was line that's not something that any of us saw coming. But coach Lozazar, like we just said, with the HLP, same thing goes in the Ahl, right. You know, Britt as far as some of those lower seated teams, you know the apple core, the warriors, look out for them to make some noise down the trucks. They don't want to go away quietly. They're not happy with the way their seasons have gone. Nobody, everybody, always wants to be, you know, in playoff contention. But...

...that's not the case. And good job, good great win for coach Zazzar and the apple cores franchise. And I'm not going to get it, not going to even yeah, good. I was not going to say is. I think he pronounces it. Danny low didn't, or did or did, or Daniloh maybe, but morose was just went off in that Zechman Morows, I think, not not to be a former top defenseman in this league, but I think it's Danilo. Morose was our floor of the week, but it's unreal performance against revolution. If you have time, go back and watch that shoot out because his goal and the goal from Brandon Hughes were dynamite in the shootout. But that's all a great transition for us into what to watch for this week in the show. Before we wrap things up, here's what to watch more this week in the east show. So looking ahead to this week, we've all had it on the calendar for a while. It's the final weekend, or isn't the final week in the January? I think it's the second, the last one. I got my dates all mess up there. It's the weekend that we've had circled for a while. It's the lumberjacks, it's the Rangers. It's a sixty game point streak for the Rangers, the number one rate team in the EHL. They haven't lost the game in regulations since the November showcase. I think I game that. I think you actually called Jeff little flyers versus Rangers way back. What in hat from like boy to got the COB was that's ms like forever ago. Something's got to give. This weekend they have the lumberjacks and, as I mentioned on the PODCAST, it's the team that's the least penalized in the league, in the Rangers, going up against the team that has the best power play in the League, in the lumber shacks. It's going to be a great series. It shouldn't be cited. Bringi any prediction so far? Oh all right, all right, no, no, listen, this is what's gonna Happen. It's gonna be a split. The Vermont, the Vermont, Vermont. Let's take game one, I think, and then D Jr will do game two and we're not going to get too far into it. But there were there's a segment that's coming up there we're gonna talk about and I had something. That's why some of my some of my selections, had to do with that matchup. I am leaning towards what you're saying, but these two teams, you know, they're both hot and they're both playing really well right now and I think there's a lot of talent on both sides, on the forwards, the defenseman and the goaltending all three levels, and both coaches. We've had the pleasure of having coach Mosso and coach Dicapriana now at this point, and they're both kind of echoing the same sentiment about what they like and what they've seen. And I think I'm going to predict the split to Brit think I'm going to go with you, Mark My predictions bold. It's a split, but I have more to talk about as I have notes to talk about streaks and milestones. All right, so I just touched on the sixteen game points streak. I'm going to go way out on a limb here, Govin to scanny. Oh, will get at least one point this weekend. WHOA really predicted to step a new all time regular season record for points? It's going to happen Friday. It's gonna Happen Friday. Oh, you're going. You're going even crazier than I am. I know. Isn't that why we get even another step closer, should we say? Is it going to be like a game winning point? Is it going to be a power place point? That's purtable. It's all a great transition. Jeff, you just sort of the tease it a little bit and I help us out with this next section, because that's that's one of your picks. So really excited for this this season with our league or Desire Justin I've been in his fantasy hockey league for two years now. This is Brittany's first year, so I've beat nail two times. Just as adding it was gonna say would you like to announce your records? Get on, all right, anyway. Sorry, ready, your what's your records? Let's hear it. Oh, I don't even know. Hold on, she's a third place. I am woon, I am not. You know what place you would come on meals in my last or second...

...to last, and all friends here, I'm in twelve. To quote, Justin the wagon that's lost its wheel. Is Yes, the right. Had actually won three straight. My team was on fire and then we ran into the end. Quotes because you can see me, the eat show queen and for the second time to Brittany this season. But it got me thinking. How can I bring fantasy into the EHL? So now, through the end of the year, humotive points for the three of us, we're going to each pick a Ford defenceman and goalie each week. Now it's interesting about it. Is it could be. You have to think about who's playing who, how many games they have. You could pick a goalie who doesn't even play in a game. You could pick a goalie that gets pulled from a game. But just to break down how the scoring will work, of course for the forwards and the Defenseman, you score a goal, three points, assist, two points, power play point, one point, Short handed point, two points. Game winning goal, two points. The only set of bonus points for forwards or defenseman are game winning goals against top five teams. Additional two points for goalies. A goalie win four points. Goals against, negative one point per goal saves, zero point, two points per saved. Obviously you want to get a lot of those shutouts. Two points and then the bonus points for goalies, also against top five teams. You get a bonus point if you get a victory over our top five team and then a bonus three points for a shut out. So perfect example what we're doing every week. We're going to go Thursday through Monday. Games count. So you look back to Wednesday, you picked to bias Falconstat. He gets a win over a top five team in the Rangers. There's your extra bonus point. So this is where it's going to get fun because when if these players, I don't know what the reactions going to be. Our group text is going to be blowing up. We're all box store weekend. It's going to be fire. So when I started the power akings to you two years ago, it's kind of like, I don't know how this is gonna, you know, be received. It could go great, it could be something that no one really embraces. If I had no idea. Now, the kids never stopped talking about revolution, the revolution. Made sure I would put them at number two after the showcase, and well, they're definitely getting booted now. So, y'all, Marylands will get Maryland's Marylyn was was one of the hottest teams in the League. was that beginning of December. I put them in and then they tell Brittany to never let me do that again because they they went on a seven game losing streak afterwards. With it, with this. I hope we don't curse anyone. Me Either. I didn't think I have my people. If my people on my list get curse, I'm going to be a little upset. So what we're going to do is obviously the points add up throughout the year. Whoever is in the last place, third place sounds better, will always lead off the picks each week. So we can't pick the same person. If you follow a saying. So, Neil, can we not pick the same person for the rest of the season? Or honestly, you can't. We can't collectively pick the same person. In one week. Okay, it's not like these players are washed out. You can never pick them again. Okay, okay, but for week one, since it was my idea, I'll go first. All right, please do all. Right. Forward for me this first week of the e crew fantasy hockey league, Drum Roll, will be Andrew Maynard from the New Jersey Seven S. all those formers a former guests on this show. The Sevens are actually on the road for their next four games, two of which take place this weekend against team Maryland and the revolution, and A to game homestep against team Maryland...

...back in December. Heit a goal and three assists. The risk part for me against the revolution is a goal and two assists in the three games, but those all came in the two victories and the time, the one time they lost revolution, he was held scoreles. So I'm begging on the Moose, though the toughs commit this week. Hopefully he could find the back of the net a few times. And Revolution still a top five team as entering this week. So the most recent power in things over, we go by shifting back to the Blue Line. I would probably predict this kid to be a future guests if I had to take a guess on who the rough riders coaching staff would have have on with them. Gray Owens and all star. This year they have a home and home series on Saturday and Sunday against the apple cores, and then four wins against the apple cores so far this season. A defenseman as a goal in five assists. I'm good with that one. And then, finally, between the pipes are recent commit a recent start of the week. And what really stands out to me is we've touched on so many different goalie names on this podcast already this year, from Ian Grive to Billy Gerard to Tobias Falconstat Tristan Hadley, all great golden there's on good teams. But very quietly, Matt Lane in the avalanche have given up the fewest schools against in the entire league. So that's my team this week. Andrew Madard, Gray yellens and Matt Lane. WHO WANTS TO GO NEXT? met He's raising over the raising amazing my hand, but no one is at home can see. Hi. I raise my hand everybody. That's the first time I've ever done that in my life. It's very polite, very polite polity. On one two, three. Okay. So my forward also plays for the rough riders. I'm going with the big dog, Andrew Bella. He has twelve points against the apple core twelve, so I would say that that is what we call good. He also he has, like what this second most points in the League right now. Leads League and scoring with thirty three goals. Oh, he has the third most points in the League right now. So again, great pick. I'm ready to go. She's patting herself on the back throughout this picture. I'm literally not. I'm sitting right here quietly. All right. My defenceman pick is jake mend zoom. You know I I just love watching zoom play. He's a beauty. We love him. Great parents too. We met them at the five frozen finals last year. Do you two years before? Yes, I work with his brother. So yes, good family. Loves the building. Is a Zun family. He still says that the third goal in the championship last year that went to Chris Aaron's, was all him. Doesn't really. Aaren is a big fans. Never heard him say sold me that thing. Remember the way he celebrated? Oh yeah, there's a picture of it. Actually is literally three people at Center. I celebrity the Mendo soon and there's two people celebrating with Aaron's in the corner. So who's quotes? So wonderful? Yeah, great, no idea, but that's fine. That's fine. You know, we're not in last year, we're in the we're in the current moment, we're in the current day. Yeah, that's all said, coach Heart Willson. Yeah, thanks, not a big deal. Maybe I should give the Rangers pregame speech. I don't know. That's coach to cap. I don't know. Okay, let's hear let's hear you. anyways, is okay. My goalie pick is Tristan Hadley. Bill, let me go in the bus with the seahawks the other day, so I have to be loyal. They're playing at chirped. No, of course not. I mean probably behind the scenes, but like, I didn't hear it, so it's fine. Oh, they didn't know this was coming either, so that's true. Oh, true. Yeah, so, Tristan Hadley twelve wins on the season. His record...

...currently is for and zero. They play the wizards, which I assume he will be in that for tomorrow. Yes, yes, and they play another game, but I feel like bill will split the goalie. So I'm banking on a Ford. That's part of the risk. Part of the risk. I have no idea when Matt Lane's playing. Avalanche have the yeah Saturday and the railers Sunday. That is a risk. I actually that's what I saw. You picked lane. I was like, that's interesting, because he has been kind of rotating some goalies and lane has played a lot with it. That's interesting. Lay in the newest Mustang. That's, he would say the Stevenson eagellers, because there's seven kids have committed to Stevenson so far, so it's a lot. That's hey. And then they were since roster's going to be Ehl next and they were and they were a top ten team in the division three hockey a couple weeks ago. Like they're still they still are. So but jeff will let you wrap things up with your picks. All right, let's wrap it up. And so I wanted to get a little outside the box, and we had a little discussion earlier for because I want to start the back end first. That's where all the best teams in the League and the best, you know, hockey teams as a whole are started. So they start from the net out and actually I wanted to start on defense because I wanted to pick Matt Mellie ehl He who is was listed the last this last weekend. Like I said, call the number of games, called a lot of I really liked when he saw from Matt that kids got some sick myths. Heck of a shock. Can Skate really well, but he so he was listed as a defenseman on the wine chart for all the Games. Neil knows best. Best, he is the maybe he knows a facto commissioner of the League. He's been a forward for two years. He's listened as a forward, but he just lay a defense this weekend and I wanted to pick him as a defenseman. So, long story short, couldn't pick Matt Mellie, but very good job. I wanted to say that he is very impressive to watch. So I actually picked a couple of Jacks because we just had coach Moss on and maybe I'm a little jacked up from the Jacks of that saying continue. Yeah, can't go wrong with David Dudsy. He's gonna love that. He's gonna Love So. Anthony to pollow, our last showcase, told me if I could announce, when I announced the starting goalten as, if I could say it that way. I promised them I would, but then I promised him I would not be able to do that the rest of the game because it would take me half an hour to say that every time you make the sing. Therefore, we told Dave that and he appreciate it. got a couple laughs foot we'duce he's been one of the best goaltenders in the league. Fourteen and three in the season, two point two on goals against, nine hundred and twenty six a percentage to shutouts. It's gonna be a really interesting battle this weekend him against Billy Gerard, arguably two of the hottest goalies and to the best goalies in the entire league. Really excited to see that. So we're going to start with him and then for my forward. Can't go wrong with this guy. was kind of I was trying not to overthink it and I was like, you know what, Logan to Scanny, Oh why not? Kids got ten power play goals, so I'm going to try to rack up those extra points. Twenty s expower play assists and one short painded point. Also, seven game winning goals which the other extra column that we have. So I'm banking on Logan. Like you said, Neil hopefully gets that first milestone point this weekend and many more. And then, lastly, but certainly not least, another guests that we had on this podcast, Rob Hake Hake, like rank, breaking the hate. So we'RE GOING TO PICK MR ROB hake and I was checking out the box core. They're playing the spartans this weekend. They have two games against sea coast, hey cad two assists in the second game. Againstea coast. That was actually the first weekend of the season. Nothing in the first game but two assists in the second game. Has E goals, thirteen assists. I liked what I heard from on the podcast, and that was actually something we didn't mention either. I'm the only one that picks any of our podcast.

Yes, so I picked Logan. Well, I had made a right pick, but we out of three. Oh, that's true. Okay, pick three of three, though. I got one picked one. Bella will be on the PODCAST. Bella will be on the podcast Friday. I just said olwens would be dude, Logan and doozy were on it today. They can have two kids to. Okay. So then you're going to only pick one coach, Eric Linder Stephen Brown? Are we going to do for people? What do you mean? Right, alwins Bella? Yeah, we don't need both of them. It's okay. Wow, I hope they listen that. Eric Lenny will still be on the Boston by the time where recording. Oh God, don't get up the butts. Pretty might want to just eject your USB Chord. I repeat, you might want to eject your ear USP Chord from your computer. Thank you. This is not a test, just throwing haymakers here. Good, you're on. So just the just the recap. Yeah, it was kind of all over the place. They knew the picks this week. Myself, Andrew Maynard, eighty seven S, Gray Owen's rough riders and Matt Lane Avalanche, Jeff Logan to Scanny, Oh and David Reduce, two lumberjacks are doing right, and Rob Hake Wolves Take Click Raak Brit's picks, and drew Bella, rough riders, Jake Mende Zoo avalanche and Tristan Hadley seahawks. The one final note that we did not mention earlier. I want to also point out just how big of a day we have going on on Saturday. Outside of a one versus to match up between the Rangers in lumberjacks, it's jbt night up in Laconia, arguably the biggest benefit night in the entire league. Grazing night raising line for cancer research. Can Hodge will be part of the on I shootout Nice. Maybe, maybe he could perform, perform better than mark compel. Bodge Park did not make it past the first round last year. Now you know doesn't matter if you play in the Olympics in the NHL. Can can can was in the NHL also, so we'll see what he's got. But you can tune in. That's so. That's a thirty start if you don't want to go all the way up to Laconia. The avalanche s are hosting a military night as well on Saturday. Ten minutes before four hundred and twenty start testing me a little bit. They're wearing camouflage. Jersey's known name Bar. So that will be good Dalk Neil, broadcaster's nightmare. Well, I will say this division three teams. The majority of them don't have name bars. So it's better. I hate you watching Musk Boston yes, because of the name bars great to watch. But yeah, so I have a little bit of experience in this. I just don't know what the numbers look like on the camouflage that assume they're white. If they're not in white, that's a little silly. I I hope so. If they're black, you're not going to be I'll see him. What if your prayer now? What if they're Camo, that's going to be tot. If they're like Camo with like, I love it. And that wasn't funny. I was a dad joke, but it was kind of funny. They're cameo with like black numbers, you're screwed. But if it's Camo with like white, no look. Or yellow white or yellow yellow will pop. You know it has to be yellow rights the APS colors. Yeah, so, Hey, a number of great games on the docket this week. Our fantasy is starting this week. This was such a good idea. You and you go, rough riders. Brittney's homework task for the reek is to contact the rough riders tell them Tuesday it's going to be Andrew Bella, Great Owens and Steven Brown, and that's just to send the separate text to Eric Linn and say half the boss. You're not. You're not welcome anyway. Thank you all. Thank you both for your time. Glad we got this all said done. Well, I can take blame as well, Jeff. We were using the different software that drew recorded a bunch of stuff and then it...

...got to leave it. So we've moved on to a new software. Right, Ya do it. We did record that. I was there the first time. Part two could not do it work stuff the way. So we have there for around one. We have to just adjust, adjustment the fly. It's all words, swords on the fly, Le Death. So it's like every good hockey player. Thank you, guys, for a time. We'll see you at the rink this weekend.
