ABOUT THIS EPISODE

This week's episode features a program in their inaugural season in the league. After a few years as an independent junior hockey organization, the Seacoast Spartans chose to join the EHL based off of its strong history of placing players into NCAA programs.

Brett Tryder is the Head Coach and General Manager of the Spartans, and a huge fan of the league.

Tryder formerly spent time behind the bench of the New England Wolves, and after a few years away, he jumped at the opportunity when the Spartans job became available. Over the years, Tryder believes that recruiting for the league has gotten easier, surely based off of how strong the EHL has become.

Kurt Mallett serves as the Director of Hockey Operations for the entire Spartans organization, as well as an Assistant Coach for Tryder. In working with the Spartans' ownership, they knew immediately based off of his past experience that Tryder was their guy.

Part of the reason for the confidence had to do with players like Shea Flanagan, who came to the Spartans with Tryder, looking to help lay the foundation for the new program.

... the ehl is the proven path to college. Turn it up and learn more about the college placement leader at the division two and three levels. Welcome into the east show. This is season one, episode number six and once again my name is neo ravant. Let's welcome in this week's guests on the PODCAST, the sea coast Spartans, and for the Sea Coast Spartans we have Brett stridder, Kurt Mallett and Shay Flannagan. Hey, thanks for having US deal. Thank you, hail, thanks mail, and we'll start with Brett. Brett, you're the head coach in the GM of the EHL team. You guys have fifteen wins so far. You're inaugural season in the EH shell. What are your thoughts on the season so far? Is this kind of where you expected to be? Yeah, I think we came in with a little bit of higher hopes. Neil, you know we've been in most games, but you know, everybody's goal coming in is to win the whole thing. That's still that still the goal. You know, I think from the outside looking in, fifteen wins right look might look like a pretty good inaugural season, you know, but obviously shoot, you shoot the stars, you know. Yeah, and Colonel, actually that kind of same question because you've been with the spartans little bit longer than Brett has. Obviously the director hockey operations for the whole organization, you were one of the guys that helped bring Brett in. Is this way you wanted the team to be at this point? I mean, again, I feel similar to bread. I know, I don't want to say we've under achieved. I think we've been right there and I think for an inaugural season we've got a lot of injuries that have sort of handicapped us. So I mean, I'm happy where we are. You know, it's tough when you're losing a lot of games. You know, Brett and I read this conversation over the last three weeks of let's stay positive, we're right there and then, you know, you put your hockey hat on and you say how many, how many more excuses can you make? We've just kind of start getting it done. But I think all in all, I think Bret's done a tremendous job, the kids have done an awesome job and the right here. I think we're going to make a good pushing at the end. Let's go all the way around the horn now, Shay, you were with coach. Try to with this former team. We don't have the name the league, but you come with him to the EH Shell. You've seen the team kind of growth throughout the year. How have you seen you guys and your play improve on the ice? Definitely our players and much better towards the second half. Extensively. We're picking up guys. We're getting much better. Our goal is definitely win this league and that's what it's been all year, even though we're don't have all the winds we need. Our goal is definitely a bounce back right there and going to win and then we'll go back to Kirk Kret I mentioned. You're the in charge of all hockey ops for the entire sea coast spartans organization, we mentioned, and already inaugural season in the EHL. What is it about the EHL that you guys said we want to have a junior hockey team? Who wanted to be in this league? Well, you know, as you as you know and many, many may not know, is we were independent for a few years and and that model was good. In Year one there was a few more independent teams. We we had a good reputation, so we could play some teams and in the USPHL and, you know, an EHL team here there, and it just was getting a little bit stale and recruiting was getting more of a challenge. And then, you know, with the EHL growing like it has and placing kids every year, we felt from an organization standpoint, we needed to make a move and and and finally all the owners got on board and it happened. I mean I just think where the HL is is now today. Would have been fools not to take advantage of this opportunity. And Brett, you were with an EHL team before. When Kurtain the sparans call you with this new opportunity, I'm assuming you just jumped right at it.

How excited were you? Absolutely nail the so proud to be part of the AHL super nuts. That the Best League around college placement, having identity. You know the way they it's run administratively. It was an absolute no brainer for me, you know, actually kind of waiting on an opportunity like this for years, not at being New Hampshire and to be part of the HL. We know that there's such a clear and distinct motive, you know, to get these kids on. It's what I'm passionate about it. The HL allows me the opportunity to do exactly what I love, what I love to do. You know, again, again, so, so proud to be part of the HL. And Shay, you're a ninety nine in your final season of junior hockey. It's always kind of a toughnessisi in the mate because this is your last crack at it before you have to move on to college. You know, why was it the EHL? These said, all right, this is the League of I'm going to go for in. Why did you choose this league? Yeah, for sure. I mean it's definitely the best for age outs. I mean last year gone from the USPHL, which is a pretty good league, but all the college colleague weren't really there every game, they were just showing up to showcases, and this league they're there every game, home, on the road, showcases, they're they're always watching on. I mean it's definitely the best tear three okay league. And as a captain of your team, how do you send the message to rest of your teammates that, yes, they're always watching, whether it's a showcase or a regular season game, but don't get the stick too tight. Let the game come to you. How do you send that message to you team as a captain? Yeah, I mean I definitely it's just taking a deep breath and relax, and I mean we have a lot of age outs this here, ninety nine, that are looking to go to school and it's getting late in the air and you can see him tighten up their sticks. But it's just staying focused and relax sticking to the system, doing what we're supposed to do, and they'll come. They'll come. Just got to win some games and the college scouts will come and see us. And then back around to Brett, you touched on it a little bit. Maybe add higher hopes for where the wind toll it would be at this point, but you're also happy with where the team is at at this point. What challenges have you encountered this year and is there anything that's really come a lot easier to you than you expected? Yeah, I think some of the challenges, you know, again with the age outs, you know, keeping them from gripping the sticks. I kind of laughed to myself when you said that nail. It's a phrase we use a ton. You know that. That, I think, is the standalone main challenge for any team. You know, in two three hockey, you know the challenge of not being too emotional as the first year program you know, coming in, you know obviously you've got some teams at the top of the standings that have been there for a couple of years and not bringing too much emotion to those games. You know, you put too much air in the balloon, it's easy to pop. Kind of theory, you know. So that's that the challenge to thing that came easier real I think, is you know, and it's in it's owed to the to the League itself, is the recruiting. You know that there's there some movement in the rosters, but you know you're not you can go out there and you say ehl or people know exactly what you're talking about. You know other teams I've had, you've had two big guys to come. You know it's always been a challenge. But EHL it's just got such name recognition. You know, already getting a ton of calls for next year's team and that certainly was was was much easier this year putting a team together, in a team of...

...quality players and you just kind of touched them in. I think you said you are in calls for next season. How so, how different is the recruiting now as opposed to your first go around in the Ahl a few years ago, as it become that much easier? It's even he's your it's even easier now and you'll you know. I just think we put the other teams in the in the rear view of the other leagues rather in the rearview mirror we I think we kind of stayed alone at the two three level and then off of that. A big part of recruiting we've touched on in the few times are showcases, and you guys hosted the fifth and final ehl showcase of the year current you were a big part of that. What was it like to host a showcase and how much does it mean do your program to have hosted a showcase in January? It's huge for us. I mean our ownership, our entire staff takes a lot of pride in our building, from our maintenance staff to our kitchen too, our bar to our GM are cleaners at are here every day. So it was big for us. I'm show up our facility. I like to think we put a good show on. You know, we had we had the warriors there, as I mentioned a few times, because they put on a pretty good spread as well. But you know, it was important for us to host it. We hope to hope coast more in the future and we'll look ahead now to that future in prepping for this interview. You know, there's there's so many games throughout the year that I can't really memorize every team schedule. But then I pull up years with nine games for meeting. I'll just run down. We go wizards, railers, then lumberjacks twice, express twice, avalanche and then seahawks twice, Shay. That is an incredibly hard schedule. How do you tell the team, how do you focus on just taking it one game at a time down the stretch me and that's right where we want to we want to play the best teams to ramp up for playoffs. That's our that's our goal and that's where everyone's had that taken one game out of time and just getting better to start budging for playoffs. That's what it is and and bread. Is that kind of the message that you are pushing Shay to, you know, push on to his team? Yeah, I think. You know, if you look at our league, there's there's no easy schedule. You know, there's I don't think there's anybody you want to play right now, you know, or you want to play everybody, if you want to put it that way. But you know, I don't think anybody, if you look to their schedule, would say they have an easy schedule. It's you know, it's the AHL and if you can't beat these teams, you don't have the chance to beat these teams heading into playoffs. You know that there's no chance to get your confidence heading in. So I think one, one hundred percent. You know, I'm smiling. Well, she a saying that, that that is a message and you have to beat these teams. We're not we're not trying to lay now for anybody. You know, we want to beat these guys and we want to show that we can beat them now so if we have the opportunity to see them in the playoffs, you know, we know it's a winnable game and that's a great point because right now you guys are currently in possession of the eighth and final playoffs spot in the conference and a number of those teams that I just mentioned our teams that you will face off against if you do advance to the postseason in March. And what is the goal? What do you get to March? Pray is it? You know, I know you say you want to win a wold championship. As there any point in the advancement throughout the playoffs where you could say, all right, if we make it that far, it was a successful season. Yeah, I'm ready hate to see yes to this question. It's a loaded question, you'll but but I think, I think, you know, I think if we if we get task the first, you know, the play in game, and win one series, I could probably sleep at night. You...

...know, I think. I think. Anything anything shy of that, I'm certainly not going to be happy. And depending in March, Neil, on college placements. You know, if we set our goal for college placements and reach our goal for college placements, it would meet it would make an exit a playoff actit a little, a little easier as wallow. Okay, and then current will wrap up the whole thing with you. Not The goals for this year. But the long term goal is once you guys put the first season in the review meet it me or you check it off. What are the long term goals of the program? I think for us it's to be in the top three every year. You know, I mean to say it would be the best. I mean I think that's that's a possibility with with our coaching staff, our ownership, our facility. But you know, my goal to be a top three team every year and always be contented for a championship. You know we we tried to do that. What we have with our youth program, you know where we have a lot of a lot of teams in that in that ballparket I'll be the best, know, but we fight to be the best every year and and I think that's our goal. Keep putting quality kids in here and and then again, Brett Bret just said it is. It's a college placements. You know the fact that we've already placed two guys off to school, you know, and to two of our better guys. Obviously, of what they wouldn't be playing, but you know, it wasn't about wins and lodges at that point. Is both getting kids to school and it and you know share. We're lucky shake sit here with us today because he should have been off to school and he made the decision to stay. So I think. I think being a program that puts kids in school, is honest to them and looks them in the eye and tells them straight out every day. That's that's what we want to be. We don't want to we don't want to be somebody. We want to be honest and open with all these kids and give them an opportunity to pursue their goals. And that's a great final point. You've already had two players move on to college midseason. We won't put too much pressure on share right now, but I'm sure his comments coming soon, along with many of your other ninety nine. They are the sea coast spartans. They have the East Coast Wizards on Friday, the railers junior hockey club on Saturday, the first of two of their final nine games. A tough schedule down the stretch, but you heard them all say, the goal is to win the whole thing. So you got to get into it first and thank you, guys, for your time and good luck this weekend. Thank you know. Thanks Dale. Thanks again to the SPARTANS for jumping on the podcast this week. A great conversations with them about starting a brand new team in the EHL. Of course they were an independent junior team for the past few years, but thanks use difference, of course, when you are affiliated with an actual league. So with that, though, let's start going around the east show. It's time for this week segment of around the show and welcome in my e crew, Jeff and Brittany. We are in the final month of the regular season. How crazy is that? Wow, is it really are you sure knew? I know this season is flown. It really has, isn't it feel like just yesterday we were all at Walpole for the first showcase? It was that a feel lamber. Oh my God, I feel like yesterday I was recording the avalanche training camp video. Was Me and Bernie. We're just talking about she's getting ready for all to little teaser to do some more recordings for some teams across the League. Should an awesome job with that. Or can be able to find that, Britt if they want to look at where am I going to put this? Oh, oh my abs training camp video is on my youtube. If you go on my twitter, it's on there, but nil're be going to put the playoff video on the HL Youtube yes, should without a doubt see. For me what's kind of fun about this time of the year is it's all built up from way back when we have the scheduling meeting may thirty, like we've all built up to this. Now we're in February and we know a little bit, but like there's a lot that's still to...

...be determined in both divisions. It feels like it's still September, doesn't it look it's at the beginning of the season. Might as well be. I mean teams are acuing a lot of stats and wins and losses, but it's amazing at how tight everything still is. Neal and Britt especially after some games today, down sometime. Yeah, and then like this. You look at the EHL first right will go start ehl north. We know the Rangers. Thirty eight games played, sixty five points. They are in control of their own destiny. Meeting if they win out their number one. But like right behind them, like even rich all week has been saying he goes. I know everyone thinks like Vermont's the closest team behind me, but like the avalanche, could catch up. Also, Oh yeah, they run a six game win streak after today. So they have won. Not They've won nine of ten. Matt Lane was just named the goalie of the month after having a zero point seven old goals against average in January. Like got a shout out today. Got Another shut out of against the seahawks today, like his numbers are absurd and its doing against huge teams. Today he's sheet all. He's beat all big teams, and I found it funny. I use the time hop APP. I always like send Brittany like daily ones like this. Rock Neil loves time HOF like my facebook status from like ten years ago, like I didn't no idea who I was as a human being, but like yeah, Nathan pick it. Throwback to last year. Won The goalie of the month in January of two thousand nineteen. Matt Lane wins the goalie of the month in January of twenty. Well, a common theme between those today. I just both avalanche goalies getting hot the right time. You know, Chris does have two big games coming up with Wall Pole here, a team that has played well against the avalanche, but then goes and gets shut up by the wizards and Jeff you up this one like here comes Freddie, here come the wizards. Every year they get hot at the right time. We won't teasing the wizard. You won't tease it too must but one of the wizards players is going to be picked, and he's played very well in that Oh yeah, if you could tell who's picking that player for, not me. No, Dylan live with another shut out. I was told by a college coach. Now, Matt Lane, bleae, Gerardtrisan, Hadley, David Orducy may not like to hear this, but I was told by a college coach that don't Lemour is the best goalie the league. Who? I like it? Competition Breed success, doesn't it? Let's see it. Let's seem that you want to hear the team in sixth places the best goalie in the League. Okay, okay, I mean just that conference, though. I think what's clear is that Rangers, lumberjacks avalanche are your one, two, three. Its teahawks only have six games left. Yes, they went all six. They get some help, they could climb into that, but for the seahawks it's most likely for five, with probably the express. I don't want to rule out the wolves because because Brittany and I were at a game with the wolves, frankly didn't show up, and having the war stone Lakonia. But then they almost sweep ver Mont and they take three or four from Vermont this year and it's like I cannot wrap my head around the parody. Yeah, and that's and that game to deal. That was the that was that high scoring baseball fair. That was the ten six game your you guys were texting me about. Yes, that's the Gamer. I'd picked, David Reducey, like, Bro, are you hitting me? Look to be kidding. So, so we know that they're all going to listen, I just want to take this time and say that, Mr Ruduzy, thank you, Dave, for killing it win the previous week for me when I picked you, and I'm sorry, that's why I pick you. Yeah, yeah, are whatever we need to Brittany hard curse. I don't know. Pretty's got that s legit had a curse. I have a curse. I picked Chris and Hardley. He also was still on Cape Cod. I picked the rens. He was nowhere to be found. Like what, Dylan Whemur? I swear...

...to the heavens you better pull through for me. Come on, started showing some it's no, I already take you this morning. No, I texted meal this morning that I was on edge. So, like I've followed it everything that comes on. It's a U but we know we won't tease it too much. We'll get to the fantasy. But just to tell the folks now, I am still only a fifty five plenty eight. Barely, folks, barely. Great Week for you, Fifty four point two. I am I am seven miles behind everyone else. You're nine last. At least you're in third place. Remember, though, yeah, at thirty nine point six. But the difference really is I have three goalie wins, which is twelve points. Jeff has two, which is eight points. You have won, which is four points, which is really the biggest difference in our fantasy assist. The four points for a win, but just shot notes and the shutout sweeve. Jeff, whose myce hear at seventy seven, saves my pick. I have no more additional comments for that job. We'll keep going down that conference, though, because we just touched on Rangers, lumberjacks through to express wolves. The team. I'm sorry, I misspoke. Wizards are in seventh place. Right now, technically, and they have the sea coast spartans on Friday and Brittany and I were talking before. You know, sea coast has beaten the wizards all three times, like and at one point this year the wizards were under few that against the avalanche. It really doesn't make any sense. But what was so crazy about sea coast? So you don't you there's so many games in the season you can't keep track of you know, every team schedule. I said this when I was talking to Brett rader and Kurt Mala and Shay flinning and earlier. You pull up sea coast schedule. Jeff, I'm not sure if you looked at this, but this is like, this is not even fair. This is yeah, these are the remainings row. These are the remaining nine games for the SPARTANS. Hey, you ready. It's horrendous with us all the top and wing and conference wizards, railer's lumberjacks twice, expressed twice, avalanche seahawks twice, like they need they barter buckle their seat bounce, they're in for it and coach rider in the bunch roof. That's so they still have two games in hand on the warriors, who are six points behind them and a game in a hand on the chiefs, who are seven points behind them. But for those teams it's like you have to look at this schedule for Sea coast and say to yourself, if we can just stay focused and on meaning, you know, six, seven games, maybe take four or five of them, we may have a chance. Yeah, it's and I mean do you get Ryan McGrath and Andrew and drew coopolis and made some changes with valley. You got them fighting for that last bout with the spartans and they now too, there's six points out as a right now, six points behind Zicco. So I mean you got to start looking in your rear view mirror to if your coach rider, and I mean so those two teams trying to and then, like you just said to Neil, you still got the chiefs of Twenty four points. You actually have two teams that are trying to, you know, slip into that last and final spot that spartans are in currently. But then, yeah, that's that is a tough, tough schedule. That's why they pay coach Trieder the big bucks and leave the coach in the him. But I mean they have done such a great job this season and I'm sure all the fans will, you know, get a chance to learn a little bit more about sea coast. You just did those interviews with them, you know, and just what a great job they've done. Though you know, twenty one one that you might look at their record on paper and be like they're in a fire up, but that's in fifteen wins an expansion team. I mean ask, you know, the railers this year and the North Carolina Golden Bears and those teams asked for a month years ago, when they were an expansion team, what their records looked like. That's an impressive feat for for coach rider, and in their first year they had that independent team. But you know, we didn't...

...we didn't talk about the league that shall not be named too much. But coach, try that league, if you know you know, try to coming all over from that league, bringing some players with them, shaft again saying like, as a ninety nine, I'm in my last year of junior hockey, this is the league. I want to be like, it's your last shot. So a lot of players on that team we're like, you know what like expansion, inaugural season, whatever, last year junior hockey. We trust the EHL to guess where we want to go. I mean they they said they're in the interview. Two players from the team committed midseason planning and could have committed also. Like that's been the most fun for me. A little bit is. You know, while it's disappointing for some of those players that commit mid season to move on to college and leave their junior teams behind, we've got a lot more of those lately. We're colleges are saying these kids are ready now, like we're going to take the midseason away. Did you drop the microphone, Brittany? Yeah, you did. Sorry, mestling back up here. Oh my I'm a mask today. It's not my day. Oh, if you are with me as the dame today time, if you have my game today, you know that my game the game that I was not with it. I almost fell off of the penalty box. I was standing up on this like I have no idea what was the was the puck coming at you or something? Nope, I was just trying to get a good angle and I was standing on top of this thing and then chance, seahawks, chance, almost, I mean legit take a tumble and it was just would you have landed on the ice or in the penalty box? I think it was score box. I would have hooked over the glass. So the game. You wouldn't have got a delay of game penalties. What you're saying? No, no, no, no, no. That would have been a good one for the what was the ref crew on that one? Was that the Toronto and the bus doing on the ice? Get Out of here ahead, he get off the ice. TERRARI would have thrown you in there for five minutes a game. Chris asked me heat because I was video taping from the penalty box and Chris goes, don't even know. I want to know what this two minutes it's it's take someone of our SICCOS set up. was that somewhat like when I was staying on mean Anthony doing the step on our little similar to that. That's actin but I put myself in that situation. Keeps things interesting, though, keeps a phone. anyways. anyways. Yeah, sorry. Some. So we covered that. We covered the north, which in a week we still have nothing determined. Probably it'll only be till it chiff down south and the eighty seven start with them going into Wednesday two hundred and one, and then they drop the game to the apple core, who still aren't dead yet. They have seven games left. There eleven points back of the junior flyers. They're still alive. They knocked off, beat the rev they beat the revolution, they beat the rougher as lately to beat the eighty sevens. Like well, all three teams in the conference. Triple Z, like Jerry. Blas Azara, like Jerry, has a decent left of lead. I guess you could say he's in a good spot. But even right above Jerry's team, Mariland, you cut, you gotta have to finish strong first off just to get in the playoffs. And then maybe we can say that, if you look at those standings, one through four is kind of set, with those four teams not knowing which will they they'll finish. But eighty sevens, rough fighters, revolution, little fires. Those will be your one through four to be determined where they end up right. Yeah, Oh yeah, Jerry still has to play the apple core two more times. There you go. You in those two games. If you're if you're in New York, things get pretty tight. You know, Maryland's only four points ahead of of the junior fires. Quick Math. I...

...don't think the Apple Corp could tennerally catch them, but they have two games against them still. Little Neil, two games coming up this weekend. I'm not going to tease my fantasy forward just yet. Brittany, my purmo should seventy five percent, but pritty forgets already whom pick wats it's. I forget who. My own picks aren't for. He isn't even a long time. Everybody, like I haven't eaten today. Everybody, it's for fifty two PM. She needs some chipperty. The rough riders sweep the little fires and then go on the road to day and lose. Six one the revolution, and we talked about that boat that battle a lot. Maybe the sevens, you know today they still got a point. They lost in the shoot up. Most likely they're going to be number one, but between the revolution and the rough riders, that's a two three matchup that you're going to see in the second round if everyone advances based off of chalk, you know, top seeds, and whoever is hosting that series is hosting every game because of the mileage rule. Isn't that what's going to happen? If some whoever gets Vermont, IF VER MON's higher correct, just confirming hundred and twenty five miles door to door, the higher seed host every game and the revolution rough riders, the home team, has won three of the four games. Was the game today in Norwalk or at the Ice Gardens? Well, if you know by the score and what I just said, no, I meant today. Yes, so if I was earning last score was six to one. Yeah, revolution one at home. Thanks. Well, I don't know, it's okay, it's okay, but if joined them with an assist. Thank you, tiger. Help me. One of the rough riders have played the most games in the entire league. After they they played a million games at first. I feel like they only have five games left. Yikes, revolution two points behind them. That's it, with two games in hand. So you kind of lose control of your destiny today with that loss. Looking at the rough riders schedule down the stretch, here little flyers, seven eighty sevens and then two at the apple core and at first SIS tough a seacoast, at first say Apple Corps. All right, four points. Not based off what happened last time they played little. It was tight both games. They were losing both games. They dropped one of them, like under in like you're saying right now. To you know, they're one of the best there, one of the hottest underdog teams in the entire league as far as they're just making a lot of noise and they're starting to get teams to maybe actually, you know, look at them. Is So like, Oh, we're playing the apple courts. They were just going to take the day off and you know, Francisco Martinez, a lot of those guys. You get Daniel Morose and they got some good players on that New York appric court team. Had the pleasure calling a bunch of their games the showcases, and coach Ls Azarra's is coaching his butt off down there in New York. Yeah, and then now we'll shift premiere and in the northern side of things, the top four teams and the conference have started to truly separate themselves. Like yeah, you were like that. The fourth place team is the railers and they're only five points behind the first place team. You want to do quick math, Brittany, I can't do math. No, okay, just on your calculator then. Okay, hold on, we're doing this. You can't do matter. I can't do matth. You in this live that. I fink. Calculator was a communications major for a reason, so that I did not have to do math. Okay'm ready. Go see the foot, the top for winning streaks. Add those up quickly. Oh, okay, that's ten. Ten plus eleven. It's twenty. One's two as top and more team. Even use a calculator, ladies. Okay, so try these. The top let teams in...

...the Northern Conference have one and twenty three street games. Yep, and I don't want to go down this frozen finals path with you guys like we do with the ehl guys. And it's avalanche, slumberjack's, avalanche, Ra injur is, whatever it is in the ehl and the EH LP. Two of those four teams are making it. That's as the lumber Jack Express, chiefs, Goo Ball, clipster spot. You never know what could happen in the playoffs. Never can rule them out. But say it's like chalk in the top for advanced the second round and we don't know what the matchups would be, but some version of avalanche, Rangers, Wolves, railers. Two of them advanced to the finals and to go home and Nikes. I think is honestly, I think it's honestly, almost more unpredictable at this level and that conference then at the ehl level. I agree. I agree. You know, I have I have four teams that have been at one point. All four teams have been in first place. I think the one team out of all those, the neal that just continues to stick out is the junior rangers. I mean, I guess they have the grand they have the least games played out of all four of them right now. That's another big thing. Breaking Point. It's just it's a combination of they still have more games to play than the rest of the teams around them. They've just eclipsed the two hundred goal mark before the seasons over. They haven't even given up a hundred goals yet. They only given up eighty five. So when you just meet they're beating all these teams. D One, eight, two, seven, nothing and now drew close, you know, approaching fifty goals on the season, five zero and the record, the record, fifty seven. So Bailey has to have a ton to do. Yeah, but the records fifty seven, and Johnny will be breaking that pretty soon. I was ready. I was ready for you to say your favorite line there is Jeff's going to those stats. But is that true? Glue? Oh, is that good? Oh is that good? Is that good? Is that good? All Right, I'll save my little line firm later. Okay. And they and they have, let's see, nine games left B Jr bj are. Seven of them on the road, but again, Freakuay, I center who against teams that they have played very well against in Vermont, the Express, the two big ones, one against the avalanche, one against the railers, but no games left with the wolves. Games left against the wolves, though. Avalanche and wolves faced off three more times. Oh my Lanta, they're gonna get to get to know each other very well right. I'm sure by games three there will be plenty of penalties. And then in the playoffs, you never know. No, I remember last year. Remember last year's Bjr Wolves pe game like that one game we there was the game that decided. Went to Providence. member. We were there. Yeah, and it was not. I was like the wolves were like such a sleeper for some reason, like no one, no one thought they were going to win. No, and then they just ripped through that series. Yeah, I guess. I guess nothing and up it looks damn good in Providence. They yeah, that was the ehl championship game. was was awesome. So it's going to be wild to watch that race in particular. And then on the other end we already confirmed the Bridgeman are out, so that four teams in the south are locked in, little flyers, eighty sevens, revolution, many games. You can basically confirm that revolution, retygas are three four. Yeah, I don't very if anything's going to flip flop, it's going to be the top two. But I have a feel that a right. If I'm going to take a guess, I'm going to say eighty sevens will go one because they've played three less games and little flyers and there one point behind them. The big key. I think it's one matchup left. I'll check it out as where as we're talking here, because the most it is like the last game or the...

...second to last game. Well, there's one this weekend to then. Oh Oh yeah, so they play Sunday at three o'clock. and asked him and if it's like last time, the little flyers won five, four and overtime. So the wind definitely helps Philadelphia because it closes the gap a little bit with the Games in hand. Obviously, giving up at least one point still kind of hurt. But this Sunday sevens win that game, they kind of almost lock things up at number one. Yeah, so, but even they said like they don't know who they'd rather face in the first round, revolution, Shin or renegades, like there's been. There's been tough battles with each one of them. And in that conference your one series away from Providence. That's it. Oh my goodness, and there's two pe teams from each in Providence, which is going to be fun. That's what I'm saying. There's two ye with only four teams. They skip that playing round and the first round that we have up north in the HLP. You and your series. You're in Providence. That's it. That was there. That was a very good job by you, Neil, adding that in this year. I think that adds an extra element for all the fans and players to, you know, be excited about. Is having that extra around the will get. It's the Schneider Arena, and was he I saw your pot yesterday. We've fifty days till, well, now forty nine till to the frozen finals. I didn't get a restrogressive reachweet. Did you know? Just liked it. I thought I didn't. Who just a little, just a little pity like. I guess that's all. It's. All we need is we look good to you. Have Hype A, Neil, you are hyping that photo. I thought it was going to be like a close up, but it was not. From a way, far away and right. That's my view down at the Nice Solis level. Well, tell, we'll tell hackling images to just take a million pictures of you those at the finals this year. Video. Okay, you said I need a professional photos so get me in front of my hit, my new banner, with my new microphone cover or whatever it's called. I'm sure. The last year I was pretties for agrapher. I was taking pictures of her on the Jumbo Toronto men. Yeah, you were your new interview dude. I still have the like I got my phone that I have now the week of providence because memory, Neil, my phone would just shut off all the time. Yes, this was it. This was the second phone in the season last year. Jeff, Oh my God, I con spiked a phone in Pennsylvania. I Guy Straight up group the second I get out at the Aston, wherever the heck we were, I don't even know. We were an Athomer iceliner, ice works, whatever, and I legit wrong spike my phone the second we get to Philly and I was like I have no phone and I'm six hours away from my house. That's so good. Yeah, I phones are not made to Gron Spike those old next tells. If you did one of those back from like they really two thousand be good. Yeah, absolutely, but I still have the group texts from last Providence. I never deleted them. So we have where's the boat. I still don't remember what that was about. Neil, do you remember like the meaning behind that was, where's the boat? Was it raining hard? I don't know. I don't remember. I don't remember either. We threw down a Brittany and I I named it because it says you named the conversation. Yeah, I have no idea why it was called that. But then we just had meals, boring and you you tool fools and finals. But there are some good gifts in there. Just to show one to our come on phone. Yeah, shown to the folks. Whatever. We'll get right, but we're under fifty days and what's nuts as like crazy. I need outfits. I have no open honestly, we're going to get down to like twenty, eight days, thirty days only finally figure things out for the most part, like who's what seed and stuff like that. Brittiant. I...

...started working on, you know, early candidates for some of the awards also, even those are going to be tough to predict, like here. When do those get voted on again? March, first and second. So who's the goal of the year? Thanks. I'm sorry, Billy Gard like, it has to be billy right. or You mean a competition? There's I mean these. It's gonna Mat see, Ian Greife, Ian Grife recently committed. Recently committed. was formally any you know what will transition into what to watch for now. Yeah, let's do it before we wrap things up. Here's what to watch board this week in the east show and coming up this week it's round to guys, round. It is our Vermont Jamboree. See, no one else had done. Were you on the text of they use the word Jamboree. Jeff, I'm working. I'm working on an idea for next season and I use the word gimber. No, that was in the group text with me. You and just in, and use the word Jam Marie and Justin Goes. We're not talking about toddler's we're talking about junior hockey players. That's like, Heybree, thank you, Justin. I really appreciate that's what it's but it's round to Jimmy's birthday. Is passed right. Jimmy's party was ruined and we've moved on. You lossome his birthday last last last series, but one the game when he wasn't there. It will be funny if it was riches birthday, but it's definitely not. It's not rich's birthday. Easy to predict another split, I'd say so. Another another split? Yeah, but if, if Vermont plays like they played against the wolves, are going to get swept and we're back to fire takes with Britain and we're back to fire takes. It serious. You cannot lose, I don't even remember what the score with ten to something, nine to something. When a six, ten six the fine. You can take seven time right. You cannot lose ten to six to the wolves and then think that you're going to walk in and sweep bjr like no stop and it's wrongout the Wolvesbur you trying to speak down about interest triple, but like you can't just drop that big of a game and then be like Yeppy, have we J are, like we will be Dribo, like no, stop enough. Yep, those are all it. Those are up to nothing. In the first game lumberjack scored for an answer to win that one. Obviously, game two hundred ten six a touchdown with a extra point and field goal verse is touchdown, missed extra point. Just to reference that one more time, and not that I didn't believe you, but I had to check the box where I was like she's serious. When you guys are texting me that update, I was at a game and I was like wow, seven up five the best time. I'm like yeah, nine goals. I got was tired. So the still negative, the negative points for reducy kind of stung a little bit. For Brittany, she got the one in the first one but, like we said, probably another split. The week began, though, you know, with the Wednesday Games. You had, you know, two three matchup of you will rough Fridays Revolution. You had a four matchup seahawks avalanche. We touched on a little bit. Wizards versus spartans. Oh sorry, wizards, Wall Pole first already done that. Shut them out. Wizards versus spartans on Friday. That's a big game. That could mean who's seven and who's eight, depending on what transpires down this sprit the stretch. Walpole plays the avalanche. Who Wallpole? One hundred and five two? Last time, most to teams faced off like little flyers rough riders. Rematch what took place last weekend. The number of games to watch this week in the EHL is huge. As just some of the Games there's a lot going on. There more games this week...

...than usual. New, because that's what when I looked at it over the week, it was like, wow, there's I want a game. I just think it's every year that we do the scheduling that you could probably circle a few weekends where I would imagine some teams are off, like the weekend before Thanksgiving, not a common weekend, the weekend right before Christmas, not a common weekend, the weekend right after the Super Bowl and February. This is this is a big one typically because a lot of guys will take off a day or two last weekend for the big game and then this weekend everyone's just locked in. There's an eye like last weekend. The Wall Pole had all last weekend off. Yeah, there's an any sevens little flyers game on on Sunday. There's a two game series Marilyn and the apple core. Let me refresh my screen over to the Premier Division. Like they have big matchups going on there as well. You know, we talked about the rangers and lumberjacks. That too, game series. EHL. Same thing, eh LP. Eighty seven revolution, potential playoff preview. Little fly they that was an overtime or shootout last time. I know it's gone overtime because n crane, the heros succored the overtime winner. You're ember ready. That's started with a start of the week. Little Flyers renegates. Last time those two teams faced off in a potential if one in a potential playoff preview, the renegates one. Like they are a lot of big games to watch this weekend and if I had eventstra a guest with all of this series that are taking place, I'll just predict splits for every single one of them. And I think that's one will sweet, one will sweep water. I can't if it looks give me in the Jacks. Can sweet to me in the jocks. Oh my God, jags just new Jimmy and the Jacks. Oh my wow, that's good. We haven't used that all right, anyways, what about me in the Jacks? But that is a big series to them, Neal Britt because the jacks have the have played two more games in the Rangers. So therefore it's big for both sides of Rangers if they can sweep, have those two games in hand and they catch up and they extend their lead even more. If they get those four points, they go to sixty nine points and that keeps the lumber jacks at one. So you get that eight point separation with only six games to play. Forty six games, right, we do in the UHL. So the lumberjacks have to get have four games left after this weekend spark, and if bjr sweeps, that's huge for Sorella as just going to say. I'm got that basically like hey, that's basically. Hey, Chris, here's seed till. How about Ye? Me Basically just hands it over, drives it to hooks that. I have no idea. I was going to say who's the biggest rangers fan this weekend. Me For it. Chris Arella Roll, Chris Kratti was not me. I know MES gonna be where it is bet our gear and maybe I lend to Chris B B Jr backpack weekend. Maybe you can stay neutral where some Niagara Purple Eagles gears were data. Be careful, Brittany. Do we need to do? We need to talk about the text that Shim will send you last week. Wait, just wait for my fantasy and I'm gonna pump everything. Give me a minute. Did you see the text? Jeff No, sent it in the group. Did you? Oh, we talk so much in that group. It's like true, I can't keep up. So so after I'll tell everybody. So after the podcast last week, everyone knows it. Like I'm just like full force Bjr, like yeah, we love it, Um, but after I can't say that. Sorry, and revolution, and you know. So I hopped off that train. Okay, no, episode five was full for Spjr and and you're basically said like I'll give you all the wolves of peril you could ever imagine if you all the right tired. That's right, I do remember that. Yep, I remember that. I mean the shrips in this league on a daily's, last weekly basis are terrific. That one I...

...was like, I wasn't tears. I was like that is amazing. As the great also, let it be known that I am in fact getting wolf of the peril next weekend. I believe it is so you can cure your job older local drink with the my wolf bit. Yeah, not the Fintles, though. The follows will be wearing ahl apparel or something professional. And so she jumps off that train and right. No, I still need to go shopping for my providence off. It's sucks so stressful. The one that knows Britney. She wants to school. She went to fashion school. She's went to fashion. I'm good. It's really easy for us. Jeff rereddy day one, suit, day too, suits a three, suit through again for Sup pay five. Can you guess it? Super Jamas. Will have a casual day at the finals this year. It's like my plaid ruins pajamas. Okay, we'll do we'll get her acting will get matching pajamas for the three of us so we can nice level. It's a Hl Wah be great. Oh my God, we could do we could do. We could do great sweat suits like the like the lumbard are the little flyers have no, no, no, thank you. They're final the club. Okay, we all blue, all blue, like the Rangers. Is it fantasy time? Yes, favorite time of the week, baby, let's do it. So, HMM, all right, tough. I'm in last. Okay, I don't want to talk about it. We don't need a rote me. I know my picks have been awful. Everyone needs to be yeah, can we have a moment of silence for one Brittany Heart and les. Okay, well, the most the moment of silence really is more the fact that she wanted to pick Prett Ricky, but then change your mind. To be right, ricket had no points yesterday. Not, not one. Oh yeah, the one for the other day, including a hat trick. Yeah, Oh wait, I need to fix Chriss as stats from the game today. Think it's I already did. You're fine enough. He's hit me these demis stat changes. Don't worry, Mr Robins on it. But you guys, I gave you a hard time with your rangers picks, but Connor Bizoll into games. Eight fantasy points. Ye's. Thank you, basy beauty. It's hate in two games, five fantasy points. Connor Galloway, into Games, five assists, Yep Levin Fantasy points, ons a apple. Rely, Gerard Billy, Gerard Brittany. We have to apologize to Jeff, both of us. We both said don't pick billy. You may not play. Yeah, we did. We may not play it all. Any turns in the twenty nine savee shut out. So that definitely counters the thirty save shut out that Nico Gamara got for me to start the week. Yeah, even rich, coach dicaprios, Chirp and be texting you that the screenshot does Jeff. No, Billy's probably going to play one of those three games and then enough kicking. A shut out. Duh, the gift, kid, Rich DiCaprio post that gift. I told you not to pick him. It's like rich, come on, fine. If anyone else saw the other tweet, rich put out fire. Won't mention it. By its good. Jordan Buffalo and for me, had a game where he went pointless but then helped out with the seven point fantasy performance and the ten six loss us for the lumber jacks. Jack Johansson another player that had a good first game for me to assist, including a power play point, but then a point list game against the Express. It his birthday, hbd, Happy Twenty, oh, happy birthday. Yeah, Jeff, tiger was rowland. That just one game and assist for you and the ninth player. That got Brittany a win, and that's all the will talk about, David Reducey. So anyways, once again, the fought, the the I'm never picking anyone from the lumberjacks ever again. Never. Okay, we're recording right, yeah, we're recording. Okay, okay, I'm...

...just sorry. I'm kept. I'm sorry. So overall points, fifty five point eight, fifty four point two, thirty nine point six. Awful. Last week's points, Jeff Twenty Four Point Eight, me twenty four, Brittany sixteen point six. Are legit. Need to jump into the Mirrormack rover. Let's go through. Let's go through your picks. Britney for the dude for the new week. Now, remember the new week in gold. Dylan Weemer was he's love them. Play very well, play. Is Is that good? If you know, you know. Next, my Defenseman, who jeff once picked, who I do in fact, no, is not injured, rob hate. Thank you your inside sources. Yeah, yeah, I know it. Thinks Andrew Call. They're playing sea coast and they're playing wilster. Listen, Rob Pig, you bet to show up. So I've saying next if he does it, he's make a break from you. And No, Andrew, remember. Remember, Neil. It's Rob Hake, not rub hack. That was the first. That was the for first recording. That never made into the air. So I've acted like that didn't exist. But did it was it wasn't? He telling us like right before and then you said it. I was like, Oh, Neil, legit, Dick, I'm a little red in the face right now. The red matches my red sweatshirt for the night, but that's okay. Back to my forward. Oh, that's the bruties. Don't cut you off. You're my Jeff. And then my forward who kneel picked. I'm stealing everyone's old pics, Andrew Maynard. They have three games this weekend. Moose Buddy, HMM JA. I have faith. I have faith in my future. Jumbo. That would be the tough Mascott. Don't know. That's good. Good, be really nice. Sure that's clear. That type toughs university's Jumbo. Oh God, I'm gonna get rosied for that. All right, anything said and is gonna go to college get fat. Anyone that doesn't know the toughs university mask it's like wow, bridge jeee, you really think highly of him? Whoops, all right, anyways, moving on, moving on, Jeff. All right, so how is a tough act to fall Britt gotta say so. Eighty seven steam. Well, I was just going to say I always like to start from the from the net out. So this week, which caused a little controversy in our friendship, I'm going to pay the goalie. WHO's that coffin? Is that commissioner having over there? Ian Graf from the New Jersey? Eighty sevens. Mr Greife is having an outstanding season and I am going to try to ride him this week because committed. He just committed. He's still nine and one is goals against his ridiculous one nine, four shutouts. We're hoping for another shout out this week. Two or two or two? I'll take to me. Or if you want to get some shoutouts to feel free when. I don't know, they have a Saturday. They but backtoback against the REV Saturday and then little flyers Sunday. So I'm not sure, but then they do all the rough riders Wednesday right before. So that's why I had to pick him. I was like, he's probably going to play. At least I would take two out of those three games. So we're going to go with IAN and hope that he continues his winning ways. And then we're going to start with now it's switch over to defense, picking from the Philadelphia a little flyers swarm Brettison, who scores a lot of goals. We saw him at the HL frozen finals last year but on a good displays get eleven goals this year and Philadelphia is playing two games this week, so hopefully swarm will wrack up some points for me there. And then, lastly, but not actually, sorry, not lastly, Jack Larrey, and probably the star out of the whole entire bunch of the Brittany heart and England wolves, Hashtag Wolf Bite, will fight. So we're gonna go with Jack. He's pushing...

...the thirty gold mark right now and hoping that maybe he can get me a couple of goals a couple apples this week. He's good. I got a slim margin as you guys just heard from Neil, to surpass him first place, and I'm hoping the RMBRES and Grife threesome hat trick there can get me on the top. So over to you. You, and here's the big thing that Jeff is hoping for. He's hoping that grife plays against the revolution and the rough riders. That way, when Brettison plays against the eighty seven, he's not going to negate his own points. But that did come in, it did come into play, but I still had to pick it. So, Adam Jolie, if you're listening, you want to help Jeff Out? Adams, you can go tanner bells on Sunday against the little fires. Sounds good to move. Or you can go all three. Who knows? Speaking of all three of it took me two days after finding out that I had to pick a new goalie. Who I had to do my research. I hadn't. You don't even know who you heard to and it's just a lot. I'm going to share this nugget. Deal. This is I probably shouldn't do this since you're in first place, but for all those at home that our keeping track, neils picked nine players and he's picked nine different players from nine different teams so far. So what? What would what? Would Chris Rella call that League guy? Big League guy? Were Guy? That's this. There are all big league guy, Big League guy. He's the biggest league guy of all the league guys. Right. So, wholir Pex, I don't even know. In goal, for scheduled to play at all three of his games this weekend. You know, there in the next week JP Mella. So with that? No, he's starting all three games next well, of course they do. I have sources. I know this is a little barry chose as commissioner of the AHL, de facto commissioner. You, Jeff. You need any coaches? GM's? I know they're on the website all or just text me, I'll sex. I'll help you out. I'll help you out. Wait, who should have just playing? Oh, you know what? The chiefs are playing one of my people, aren't they? Well, actually, I don't think so. I actually have a similar thing that to what Jeff's going on. They're playing the seahawks first. Who I picked the Defenseman this week? Yeah, jklin from the SEAHAWKS. They play the seahawks on Friday. It play the wolves on Saturday. And they play the railers yes, next Wednesday. The key are rod hake is going to score a cancer goalie, and then so is Loran. Okay, there you go. You and Jack Ran's gonna get it over thirty this weekend. Plus Three, two hundred and thirty three maybe. Kind back to that conversation we were having about the playoffs. Looking at the rest of the schedule for the chiefs, they have eight games remaining, seven of which tri at home at all WADINGTON. Reason, cold area when you lose, but when you get sleep in your own bad have your own meals. And the one road game they have is at the apple core, so that's not even a bus trip overnight any of any of the stort. That's a huge factor to watch. So I'm hoping give it to them. I'm hoping for some big performances in that for JP mellah cj a climb and the seahawks. As I mentioned, they play the chiefs on Friday. Seahawks, in the words of bills in a Boneyi, you know, when a few games here downe the stress to really hit the postseason playing better than they have as of late. They've been kind of a five hundred team. They in a good second period today. Yeah, but you go back to January eight, right in the game. Since then, when loss, when loss, when loss, when loss, when loss, every other they're on road for the win. They lost today, they can go the next one. So came up with US keeping with the street. They would beat the chiefs, they loose, the Rangers...

...beat the express loose, the railers beat the SPARTANS and lose. This spartans in the way out if the patterns sketchule, if the pattern sticks. But they have, as I mentioned, the chiefs on Friday and then the railers next Wednesday. so He's a climb. Let's see what you got all star this year. And then, speaking of players that we didn't know too much about, this player will we actually selected the All star team. But if we are the trick, we had just like the team again now, this kid probably would be on it. The raining January four to the month. Daniloh Morose is my forward. This week really leaves leaves the near a gapple corps and scoring with forty three points so far, very high as of late, as I mentioned, with being named the January four to the month and it seems like many of the Games the apple core playing are these high scoring running gun shootouts. For example, the seven to six shoot out victory against revolutionary had five points. So up against team Marilyn, I'd love two Games of Eight hundred and twenty seven or something Nice for those high school I want to go end and just goals. Let's just keep going back and forth. Coaches, not Mary, but that's kind of I think it will happen. It could. And when he comes off for a change, coaches coasts as or just close the door. You stay out there nearer that lock. Shaw Neil wants the points used. That you want to hop over and now stay up. Stay up all the point we could use that. Will the coaches start doing that? First, Hey, Laria, get out there. Thanks you. So those are our picks. A new week, the third week. It's going to be a big week for Brittany. Okay, if it's not right, for fit forfeit. Rest of the week. We again, again, again, yet we are still recording. So no more lumber hips pick since he's forfeiting. Okay, no, she's not. Just turned into a two horse race. WHOOHOO. Come on, Rob Heke, Rob Hey, come on, Rob Hey, let's do it. Come on, we'll fight Andrew channing, and so it's Tim and cod. Yes, they're cheering with me their church. Andrew Trimble. I just chant and wanting hit players names. Okay, that is a good thing. The tires if I've ever seen it. I gotta Take Rob at some point to since I try to take him when he was injured. So I hope, I hope rob was a good week too. Maybe maybe in the playoffs. Yeah, maybe, that's that's going to be fun. You get. Let me get to that round and we have not a teams too far ahead. But what's going to be interesting is that first week of March we're going to drop the podcast right before the playin round begins. So say you pick a guy, a kid, that's playing in the playing rounds but doesn't advance to the first round of the playoffs. WHO WHOO? That's yeah, get too many points when you're not playing. No, kind of hard to do. But if you pick someone that is only gave me the first round, you never know what could happened. Maybe the only last two games. So now we can have. That's four weeks away. You know by that's too good. By then, if I keep getting shut out. It's like Nico Gemara gave maybe won't even we won't even need March. We will see you see that. I'm you see that down. I'm giving you. I'm giving you. Let Nathan Young Look Rich. I wish a rich can see because he'd be like yea bust, deflate it. Yeah, he has a gift of it. So, yeah, be so good. Oh my gosh, rich, can we make a gift of a youngestphere. So big week, though, on tap in the EHL and EHLP. Tons of matchups to watch, tons of matchups. There are so many games this week you can catch them all on hockey TV. Will be hammering social media as much as we can try to update everyone...

...at home of where the races are at with the playoff seatings. Maybe somebody will clinch an official seat this weekend. Their exact spot? Probably not, but possible. You never know. You never know, you never know, but enjoy the week, guys. I'm sure you'll be in the rink all weekend as long as well. I know Britney's going up to Vermont for the big two games series. So and I have a pee game in the morning. Yeah, in Hampshire on Saturday. That's that's a lot of miles in the car that day for you. So US I needed. Hey, if anyone wants to donate a new car or like a winning lottery to get I wouldn't not that my car is like trash, but like it has a lot of miles on it. Yeah, it's only in two thousand and fourteen. Maybe if you would, maybe if you win the fantasy, you get a new car. That's the wow. I'll take a Mercedes. Good John Graves, would you like to cut me a check for Mercedes and on that know we will not be giving away in the car. So the wrap up the podcast. Make sure check out eastern Hockley DOT ORG. They'll find all the all the scores on there throughout the weekend. Literally, Games almost on every single day. I they except for the day they we're dropping this podcast. After that we have games every single day, so it works out pretty well. Have a great weekend, guys. Enjoy the Games. Let's see what happens. Let's say we becaus. See You. So Hi, good luck her own.
