My name is Neil Raven and this is episode number one thirteen of the e show. On this week's episode we're down to just three of us, with Lauren out on assignment, as we progress our way through the busy month of March. Kicking things off and the weekly run down, we start by breaking down and entertaining first round of the ehl playoffs, including a new record set for the longest game and League history. As for the EH LP, we finalize the power rankings for the year and preview this week's first round of postseason play. Further along and the e crew fantasy challenge, we reset our lineups with just two weeks of action remaining and then wrap up the episode by each circling a series to keep an eye on and are what to watch for a segment. What's up, guys? Just like that, one week of the playoffs already done. That flew by. It's a really good series and some surprising series that we're really talking about her yeah, wow. But why I want to start is the best text of the entire postseason so far from Colin Casey, the broadcast the wizards to me. So Colin finalized Wednesday's marathon, which is basically two games. Right. We're going to get to that. But the best text was he neil. I'm really sorry to do this, but I'm late to my other job and I didn't put in the old the shots from the third overtime. Can you played those in for me? Yes, like, like, no, like, no problem, I got you covered. So I thought that was pretty funny because that was, as Anthony tweeted, the longest game in ehl history. And this is all, as all of us says, play byplay people, our hearts go out to you when you're calling extra parky times, extra hockey, and who is like nonstop, and that was a fast paced game up and down, up and down. They weren't so well. It's funny say that Neil, I'd actually reach after him as well. I congratulated him on a great call in that overtime winner and also just calling that long. It's game ehl history. He told me that he was late for his other job, and it's someone who also does play by play and also used to work with mlbcom now I work with Bloomberg. Having that other job where having a game that last a hundred minutes that can make you late. I can relate to that. But he did a job well done. It's what makes hockey so great. Right, all right, because when it comes to playoffs in overtime you never know when it's going to happen, and other sports there's a clock and there's a built up for a pitch. So you get to that that endpoint, it could happen at any moment and you're looking at your clock and you're like Hey, I'm late, I'm still late. I'm even more late now because they just had this and like they were chances. They were like there were some really good chances. There was a five on three. We've talked about that for years. Right now, that that's why I playoff over time, and hockey is the best out of any sport because you just never know, and usually it is kind of a squeaky goal. I wouldn't call it a squeaky goal, I would call that tired legs blown to Simon by the demon because he was puck watching a little bit. But that's what happens. You get into gee, how many minutes of hockey was out of that? Hundred and underd and seventeen. Yeah, so you start getting a little Oh, what's going on over there? Someone leaks behind you over and let's you know what, let's talk about that series more inside that. We here right now. It's time for the e cruise weekly run down. Do you show weekly run down? was brought to body junior hockey podcast, your home for junior hockey news, knowledge and nonsense. Check them out. A tjh podcastcom. So if you're a Walpole and you win game one and then you put in all that effort for game two and then you fall behind to nothing after twenty minutes in game three, how the hell do you come back and win that series like that? To me, is probably the most impressive part. Yeah, I would love to have heard what coach Josh Holdstrom said to the boys. Someone said something. Yeah, once said something because they scored five on answered after that. Or is it that top of your where you don't really need to say anything to that could be the the sentiment right a lot of guys, though. It's playoff time. Just let's buck up, guys, and let's get in there and let's get it done, because if you're the if you're on the wizards side right, all the momentum in the world is on your head going into the second period. Yep, like and and just for Wallpole to come back. Is it going to be enough to now go out and overtake the Rangers? I...

...don't know. Right, that's the next that's the next tall task. But to see the wizards up to nothing yesterday, I'm like and they had more shots in the first period. This is this series is over. I was convinced I was the one that was to be right. Obviously I was wrong, but it was. It was pretty cool to see what took place and maybe if Walpole does get through this series, that I won't give Josh to call and say, Josh, let's go back into the time machine. Just you tell me what you said at the end of that first period, because clearly it kept their season a lot. So that was that was one series in the East division. The other series in the East division. Nathan Miller said basically at one point this season there was a goalie of the year debate and that debate doesn't exist anymore. It's basically what he's said, because what he's doing right now is on another level. His goals against average is under one now. Yeah, I'd calling here the other day. Yeah, I want to call game one the other day. Deal for that series was like, Oh, Nathan Millard had a couple of goals that he gave up. At the end of the seasons. We finished with a one point, zero five goals against, nine hundred and fifty nine. Same percentage. That's not that great. I'll jokes aside. That is video game like. That is fake. Once like we talked about a lot about Colin Bella last week. They the Miller is the Colon Bella of the goaltending variety, and the kids unbelievable and such. He's lying on rookie mode exact literally at that's a good comparison. He just he's so smooth. He never freaks out, even when there's guys crashing in the crease, which is that time of year everybuddy crashes the net and is fighting for real state. He stays calm no matter what. Also, Jeff, I think well, on one hand you have to give credit to the Seahawks, which which I think is even more of a testament to Nathan Miller. The seahawks seemed to get a lot of great a chancys on the Boston junior rangers, like the Seahawks, didn't just fulled as the fifth place scene coming in against the number one see they put up a fight and despite the game to score. A lot of those goals came in the third period where in that six nothing lost it. They got kind of deflayed at the very end, but for most of that series they really put up a fight and Miller had to make some really good things. Now it's a good point at the net and game one, kneed Hopkins was was very good. You know, one goal, and it was kind of an odd goal. Wasn't not traffick in front of him. It was robuck for the Blue Line kind of straight away and kind of skidded past them. And again that's playoffs and that was it. That was all scoring. That breakway. I center is going off with that. They so, but it's like it kind of compares to what we're just talking about with Walpole in the wizards, because to me it felt like walpole putting in all that effort towards game to, how could they come back in game three? I felt that way about the seahawks. To go out and and compete that hard and lose one nothing, which means a bouncer, two year and overtime. You may win that game to see what happened in the third period of the following day. I wasn't totally surprised because they had spent all their energy to get to that point and and at that point, you know, the Rangers took over as the better team. But now, for the second year in a row, we have rangers versus Walpole, with a ticket to the files in the line. The difference this season is that the loser does end up in the wild card game. PLS will come from the other series against which is the avalanche in the wolves, and I don't think it can go unnoticed anymore the job that Tim Quines is done, and I know we've talked about this at length in the podcast, but from the start that they had to be now in the North Division finals and and they have a legitimate chance to win this series. Like they they could win this serious like. There's no doubt about that. They they to me, it all comes down to a habits in game one, which is captain obvious right, like it's it's that's really the captain obvious statement. But say it at the wolves can come down and win the first game at the ice tend a take back home ice to Maryl Faye, where they are really good team for that. Uh, like is this? You're talking about a sweep at that point? You know what I'm saying. So it's I don't know if they will sweep the ABS, but Anthony said this last week about the express and wizards, talking about the potential for overtime games. I see it again and this wolves and APP series. Who That's? I mean the like you said, you look at the you can't look at the season series anymore right, especially with the wolves, this wolves team, because it's a very different team now than it was the beginning of the year. They had a nine one loss the avalanche a long time ago. One of the Games. I do look at one of their more recent games, especially with their newer goaltender, Liam kilgallen. was at the end of the year and they beat the avalanche and up back and forth high scoring affair, winning five four. So the wolves won two out of the six regular season...

...matchups. That go to and for. But look at that last game as something that I'm sure coach Qins is going to look at that tape and show the guys and say, Hey, let's do more this. Maybe play a little more, a little more D get a little tighter on the back end. You don't want to be give up four goals and I wouldn't expect a lot of those high scoring type of Fayers, I mean unless you're in that he's new jerseys, which will get to them in a second. Their faceball scores in their first round, but usually playoffs here are more tighter scoring games. But he's gonna be a heck of a series new but you know the ABS all year long we're a team that I thought of that way when that defensive battle, you you work on a score more than four against them and then it took five. It took there, it took them scoring six goals in each game to get by sea coast this year. Like, how about did you fit? Did you guys pick kyled Dan have four goals in their first round? I think he finished with two of the re uses and heat like. It's funny because Chris did say to me, I can't even make this up, watch out for Kyle Dan in the playoffs really, and I was like, but that goes back to our coaches seeing something, most likely in practice or an a lateseason game, that he knew something was coming and the good zep piece. And like we talked, we talked about that last week to all of us, all three of us did about that's what comes when it comes to the playoff time, to matter if you're the NHL, college or Juniors, those depth pieces, the Kyle Dans, that are the glue that helps you win rounds, when Cups, when championships and especial especially because, like, defense is always so important in the playoffs at and usually the game plan is, okay, let's cover the top scores, lock them down right and ironically enough, they're the ones you don't really get that many scoring dances. And, just you said, it's the death pieces that really kind of have to shine. Yeah, and Serella broke apart his little perfection line. It wasn't ter Sony, girls and heart ods kiss he had. I think he had ter Sony, Carlson and Dan Together, if I remember correctly. So interesting to see what he does coming up here. But then you get to the other playoff series in the north. I'm kind of transitioning all over the place because he had my fantasy sign. Yeah, it definitely does, God. But we had two series in the first round where the higher seed hosted all the Games. One was this lumberjacks wolves, the other was the apple core railers. They each followed a different pattern, though. For the lumberjackson wolves, the lumberjacks one game one, lost game two, travel the home set on that for a day, then went back for a day trip to play game three and, as we know, they obviously lost. You compare it to the applicorn the railers. Apple Cores Lose Game One and then win game two and head home with all that momentum, I wasn't surprised for a second when they took the initial lead yesterday. So then how how that transitions back to the lumberjacks? When you go back into game three and you fall behind in a tough place to play against the wolves team that, as the series progressed, progressed to started to shut things down more. I think it's just more credit to the wolves for losing game one and then just saying you know what, like weren't, this is not how our season is going to end. We're going to take back home. I so we're going to win this series right now. That was pretty impressive to me. I also think it was kind of similar to like we just like you just mentioned nearly and you aunty about with the seahawks putting out all their effort in game one. I feel like that's the same case for the lumberjacks. That's a crush. It to lose an overtime is is crushing your series, your seasons on the line. And game three and, like you just said, Neuro Fei, it's we're find out that's the number one toughest building the play. That's that's as it all mice up there. Yeah, it has to be. But I brought up the other series because now we get to go to the series that almost proved that anthony as a genius. It almost prove that Anthony, because know what what, when Apple Coret went up three, two one, I was thinking, oh my goodness, they can actually do this. We all were like, oh what the correct personal credits of the railways? Yeah, because one thing that you can say about APP Corps that their times for their power place absolutely lethal, fantastic, and I probably should have mentioned him in the the playoff preview, but Spencer Bor scored twice on the power play. Yep, he can be low key deadly on the man advantage and he's use the reason why Apple Corps had that three to one lead. Yep, and Charles Lavoir also scored. I up about him in the...

...preview. So, even if Calman's not the one scoring goals, because remember, he got a lot of these points with the CIST. Well, I mean of course took it to the railers and I think that they deserve a lot of credit for the kind of fight that they put up and taking it to three games. And I know it's hindsight now, right being the next day, but I think where they're kicking themselves right now is they go up three one. It really could have been for one with the penalty shot chance for of all guys callin him right, like there's no other guy. You got to have taken that shot, and maybe not Tis of tenny scores, but it could have been for one. But then the name goes backbreaker. Yes, three. Then you're like one, all right, because then the name of this episode, in terms of what the first round was, has to just be momentum swing or swings plural, because that's all it was the entire week. Right, because how the railers can then say we're down one, we just gave up three goals in the major power play. We're going to now go and do our best Philadelphia little bias impression and just score in buckets immediately to take back the lead. I was like, I don't know what was on that bench and that moment, but that was impressive. It looks up we pick the right coach of the year, Schawmber Tonya a good little speech. They're coach. Well, Dune, good, yeah, job, Doun. I mean it was like instant. The power play added in and I was like three, two, three, three, four three, and I was like that was kind of fast. Like I mean that's another tie to we've talked about all your long your Damon Dulac, you have been the clashing at tyler is Dazzi tyler drumming on the back end for mental and they're not. Team is just loaded with good forwards, good defense, good goaltending, and they were able to find the answer. And in the first three names you just said are still uncommitted and they have options to choose from right, which is just and they so using that much more impressive as we're out a hundred and six, hundred and five right now, and those three guys have options to right and they're in their foragent good players. I'm knocking to know a couple coaches were texting me, still looking for some people going over to the worser eys. So the railers move on to face the chiefs and I'll admit I am surprised because I was convinced that Bella was going to put on a show and they shut him down. That was that was the big thing that they had to do, was they had to just shut down Colin Bella, because he is he is there driving forest right. And I got to get the chiefs credit because I felt like heading into the playoffs they were kind of going like backwards for a second. Then they would turn things around and then kind of backwards again and then to come out and just take care of business in stets up what should be a tremendous series with a ticket to the finals on the line, and kind of a dominating fashion too. It's chiefs. Did it come up three nothing in the first game? Yep, if that one goal to Vara's and then two more goals in the third period to put them away. But yeah, dominating series win for coach ff and the Connecticut chiefs and then the for to win at the the second game and that was it. I gave three heated but yeah, that is impressive. The biggest thing that I see with this division finals that I find, I think it's going to be fascinating, is, I know Antone we're going to get to little flyers and eighty seven, the war that is about to come down south. But whoever loses that game, eighty seven's a little fires. They already know no matter what happens, they're hosting the following week because the eighty sevens a little fires both have a better record regular season than the railers and the cheeps. So if you're the railers are the chiefs, you're almost going in poker terms, all in on your central files. Right, you can still go down and win that one game, but man'd like to go after do that on the road when you have this right in front of you, like you what you're putting all your eggs and miss basket. So not put on a bad Juju on I need these series. But we've talked a little bit about it. Who Lose the central if it is railers eighty sevens or chiefs eighty sevens, then look at the east and north. The Rangers lose. Yeah, delianch lose. We've also be a rangers avalanche the one while, while tit. I know, why don't? I know what I say when I call something world worth free, it's really in bad context right now at what's taking place in the world. But like call, will call World War for them between the ABS and Rangers for a wild card game, because that's what it would be like it that would be an unreal matchup with a ticket to the finals on the line, right. It would be. It would be, and from a from a League perspective, it's kind of a dreams in the area. Yeah, it's like baseball do with the one game playoffs, you know, but what I'm from the League perspective that...

...we want to see new teams. Right, do you want to see the nothing, nothing could top as versus Rangers in the wild card game. Well, that happened. Officially goes home, like no matter what happens, one goes on. They would, they would appeal and they would say we both get to go, like screw you, like screw your nail. Oh No, oh no. I feel like it would be more like when the NHL fans are always complaining about the current playoff format, where you have the best seems face. It's in all from the first or second round, and they thinking, why are they facing off now? They should be facing off later, a hundred percent. And I know if, if that were the case, that's what we'd be hearing from the likes of Christorella Rich DiCaprio, that they they would not be happy with the format, that's for sure. I will promise you this, though, if they do both win their respective series and they're both done by the twenty twenty one or so, and then they're obviously often bill the first day of the finals, they'll post one of those really weird like we practice scrimmage together, pictures in the following week, like they do every year, and it will make kind of like no sense, because it's like you guys hate each other, but you've put on this face that you're best friends right there. I can't be I can't be wrong. I can't be wrong with this. So by love each other, stect each other, but they hate each other. Well, yeah, you never, you never watch those episodes of Tom and Jerry where sometimes they're just hanging out like their best boyds and then they start they're on the frying pans at each other. It's just like that. Y. That's that's the avalanche of the junior rangers. And we go sell. We go self next, and of the eight series that we had, three of them went to game three. Five were two games sweeps. Jeff, you know what kill me? We were so close to for and for perfect symmetry, but we're groundless. The division, H Division that had no game three was the biggest surprise to us. How is there no game three? Down Self, but that wasn't one. One game of one point game one, right, yes, like that seven. I was like, I literally turned back on me that that was all for a couple of minutes. Yeah, that was like, Oh all right, good game seven. Well, I gotta say, Anthony, your first devil no game gold call of goal of game one was probably the most excited I've heard you for a goal call season, but the time when they initially tied the game. But it's unique because I said this to you before. Are we on a crash course for the little fires a n and they proved that to be the case. Yeah, oh no. I think what I saw from protech and Mariland was that they gave it all in the regular season and by the time it came to the playoffs they were just gassed. Yeah, where? And I think the sevens and little flyers both had more depth and that's really what drove them. Chris Ruster pointed this out. I thinking game won the second and third lines. So pretty much everyone except for Robbie swagging and it's Mad Anna Sazio and Jason Atkinson had a combined thirteen points in that one win, and up until that seventh and final goal, that top line was held off the score sheet, where the sevens have similar to last year, where they have a top six, you can even consider it a top nine, where you have three lines that can score at will. And the fourth line may not put up that many points, but still keep the playing the offensive zone. Same thing with the little flyers. They can roll four lines and they can score at any given moment. And I think for team Marilyn and the ducks it was just too much to handle. And now they get each other, as we mentioned before. Whoever loses knows they're hosting that one game. But it's so most so a battle over the extra days of rest at this point. Right. I don't want to make it sound like we're penciling to south teams in automatically to the finals, but the way that those two teams are are playing right now, they are the favorites. Right. If you if you had it, if you had to iron out six favorites, it would all. I would always include sevens and little flyers. Yeah, you put them in a simulator, play ten games and see what would always it would always include them. There the question now is for that actual three game series. How does it not go three games? Right, it has to go three games, it just has. I think so. I mean the way the eighty sevens just blew through PROTEC like that, and I mean it was SOS, one one after one, and then destroying and blowing doors after that and then being too is nothing, nothing after the first and then four goals of the second, four goals in the third.

But yeah, Philadelphia, that has to go through, but doesn't. Then what is going on? Yeah, also, it was it was weird seeing ehl game again in Flemington and EHL's in like not EHLP, because I've seen so many games on hockey TV between eighty sevens and running gads. Yep, I was kind of hoping that Devlin O'Kane was going to pick up the hat trick, because then I could have said that was the first hat trick for an eighty seven player at Flemington ice arena since Jake Larue so when he played that one EHLP game before going to the titans, were in Simmy Fitzgerald's Jersey. Okay, I didn't hear that part, but the time stamp that one, because Jake Larusso, of course, for those who don't know, is Adam hoolie steps and the Rende Gads were actually winning that game. I think it was a natural hatch trick, Anthony, I couldn't ruse. I think it was a hat trick in the third period, which at some point in that game he was like you know what I was well, when you score. He did. He did score one goal in the second period. That was actually okay, penalty shot, and then he scored two in the second period, you know, in the third period, like epic. I actually remember that game. That was wild. But we have four what should be awesome division finals. You got the the avalanche and the wolves, the Rangers and the Express, the chiefs and the railers and the sevens and the little fires and, as you mentioned, there is still the chance to lose your division finals and then win the wild card game and go but as will see as this thing progresses, there's a huge benefit in winning your way there because if you're if you win your way there and you're the one seat in your respective pool, because you have two pools of three. If you're the one seed, you're playing on Wednesday, Thursday, off, Friday, potentially Saturday Sunday. If you're a two seed, you go Wednesday, Friday, Saturday Sunday. If you're one of these wild card teams that goes to the finals, of course you're playing another game next week and then you would have to go for in a row in Providence. So the whole thing will get proven wrong when we have a team that wins the wild card and then wins the whole freaking thing. Right, all right, but, but, but I do in this moment like our format. Let that be known. Yeah, and, like we talked about too, it just depends on what kind of hockey team you are. Some teams like playing that much in a row. Some teams drive off that, some teams don't. I think again, if we do the simulator, it's especially this season with how heavy and fast a lot of these teams are like. It's going to wear on you. And Yep, it could be the difference come down to, you know, coming down to Schneid arena and the frozen finals. Could be a squeaker that could be a little tired from playing on that wild card game or not percent still of energy. So I don't know that. We'll see. And it's not just the HL in Providence, as Anthony knows, will be the one calling all the EHLP Games. So let's get over to the EHLP now, because I will say this also, as fast as it felt like the EHL first round came and went, there was a part of me that was kind of like. Is the EHLP regular season still going? Like I got it kind of dragged on a little bit, but now the table is set in the EH LP as well. So let's start with our power rakings, just like we did for the EHL, the final four going into the postseason, and I think that you have to start at number one, with the avalanche being the regular season champions. They have to be the number one ranked team going in. I will say this. Got To give Vinny Caljiri credit. The trophy still right here and he doesn't he doesn't want it, you know. So he basically said I don't even want to even see it because last year we got it and then we got knocked out on the playoffs. Like that's not the trophy that we're going for. We're actually going for the one behind that one deal and the avalanche, for as much success as they've had in the ehl playoffs in their history, the avalanche hlp teams never made to the frozen finals. Yeah, it was this a Vini Kil Jerry was at the frozen finals last year, but as an assistant of the HL, not the HLP, and he brought that up quite a bit to us down in Westchester didn't anal yes, how bitter he was that they were not going to be abody said, you watch, will reload, will be back there next year. And Yeah, well done, Vinie. Sixty six points, finished with single digit thirty six and six. That's a heck of a record to finish with and plays a really good hockey at the end of the year, going seven three down the strip. So they're going to be a HECKNIC team watch. Don't forget one of your yen's with Nick Fa Cilia Silias, also maker egner. They got a lot of guys on another another thing about the avalanche that impresses me Nick Marinola, jared Packman. When you look at their minutes played, they're only separated by six minutes. Marin goal is playing nine...

...hundred and forty seven, jared packing with nine hundred and forty one. Man Goal had thirteen wins, packing with twelve. So these are two goaltenders that, yeah, yeah, split right down the middle. CALAGII can put either one of them in goal and you know that they have a shot to win. So I think when you have that kind of line up all throughout and not only makes them the regular season champions, but the clear favorites for the EHLP. Another hot topic that's been debated a lot over the last bunch of years is because you're seeing these tandems in so the college of starting to see more workhorses, but the pros a lot more. You're to starting to see a lot more one a, one B's. So who does he go with in Game One? And then after game one, do you stay with that goalie? Do you go back? And it's going to be interesting. And when I do see these guys that speak the wolves in the in the ABS, because they obviously close to me, I'll probably be make it to a few of those games. I'm gonna hug everyone because the way that they scheduled it makes me happy. On Thursday it's Eh LP, the the HL, on Friday it's Eh lp the the HL. On Sunday it's EHLP. Of then ehl like backtoback perfect wolves, apps, like it's just bug it hug, it's just it's just perfect, like that's how it should be. It's that's just how it should be, like backtoback games. Maybe it's both wolves, maybe it's both as, maybe it's a split of some sort, but it's perfect that way. But then for the other matchup in the North Division, you know, that one's really interesting because I points through in this year the lumberjacks were in the top four and the warriors were in the top for right. I totally just realized that. I just skipped the power rankings. By the way, guys, I totally just give the power the pause that for a second season drag. Done so that first second because I figured that you would you would you would like where I was going with this. We said one was the ABS, two three. To me, feels very simple. You Go, railers were the one, or the first seat, I should say, in the East division, and the Rangers are the two. They were really the next two best teams throughout the year. So the railers are two, rangers are three, in my opinion. Yeah, no, I yep, okay, this is this is good. Who is the fourth and final spot? Little fires as the South Division. All right, little flyers, texts maybe, because well, that's that's a great transition, because I if we go little fires, that's kind of where I was going. Next was the lumberjacks and warriors and little fires have kind of been fighting for that fourth spot. All year long right, like which one of those teams is going to push the teams above them, the top through the hardest on this road the province? It's interesting. Yeah. Also, can can just give a shout out to the Philadelphia little flyers there last game in the season, playing against the eighty seven, they just up grown in Marley as a forward. Wow. So before, before the game, and I switched with Chris Rusto. He did the playbyplay for that game. I was doing ringside and I was talking to the players and groaning came up to me. He's like I'm playing out today. I'm like no, you're not, and all the players like yeah, he is. So I go to mark catcher on the coach of the little flyers and I go, mark, you got to just dispel this for me. They're they're telling me that Roni's playing out today. He's like, oh no, he is. Like what for? Those are all the RHINGA. Marley is a goaltender, I guess for you. So, but goalies are. goalies are, quietly at times, good skaters. Neil, he nearly score. He nearly scored a goal. Okay, a defenseman for the Lily choires took a shot from the point. He went to the the far post. It was a rich shot that was about waist high and he got a piece of it with his stick and instead of going in towards the net, a just deflected wide into the corner and I saw the bench and they all guess they're like, oh my goodness, he nearly scored. Yeah, he did use his goalie panel right after. He was having a regular stick up. The funny thing about me, though, I pointed this out on the broadcast. He stopped he would always stop with one ski because he would do goalie stops as a skater. Yeah, it looked a little weird, but other than that, like he played a pretty solid game out I was very impressed. Give it to him then. But with that I do say week Vermont and Valley had these really weird ends of the season because there were so many games with them that didn't really mean much that I do want to go little flyers at for just because they were that last division champions. So just the recap, we would have ABS, one railers, two rangers, three little flyers for going in, which then shifts us back up to the north and Vermont hosting all three games in that series with valley, is it? Are we on a crash course now? These that...

...same that same terminology. The avalanche should be, should be the favorites against the walls based off the regular season, and then it's valley and the lumberjacks is battling for a chance at the APPS. Is that really what we're in store for? It seems like it. And then what do you Rita? We talked about whole mice. Another tough place to play. People said that Merl Fair kind of beatop is place to play. So yeah, so seems like it. It's interesting, right, because you know who the biggest fans of the avalanche are right now? The rangers and Railers, because as long as the as the avalanche, the avalanche are in the position that the New Jersey seven s EHL team was in last year, where they are the regular season champions, they're going to go to providence regardless of what happens, as long as they make it to the second round. So if they make it to the second round and they still win there or if they lose there, it gets kind of interesting them because they're still going right. So they would go with valley or with Vermont at that point. But when you go shift to the East, we've talked all year long about railers and Rangers, back and forth. The Rangers are in first and the railers are in first, and really tea arks to I don't want to, I don't want to. I was just going there. I don't want to put those guys in the in the East division finals just yet because I think the seahawks and the express each have the firepower to knock either one of those guys off. But if we do get to a point where it's avalanche versus fill in team x and then railers versus Rangers, the railers and Rangers are going to be watching the scoreboard the entire time saying aps, can you just win this so that we know that we're both going. It's really what it comes down to. So that's what's going to make this really interesting. Because then you go down south too, and when I talked about the central in the east earlier, the south is focused on chest the self because when you look around the rest of the divisions, unless there's pure chaos, which we know that can happen in March, the south ascending one team to the ehlp finals and that's the winner of the division and right now I don't know who that's going to be. Yeah, I would have to say now, Neil me, being the eighty seven's homer. I have to point out that the the seven S P team has really turned it on since the flip of the calendar year ninety two and one, in the Year of two thousand and twenty two, even by ehlp Sanders. They're a young team but they have really hit their stride. They've had a couple wins against a little flyers. They've actually won the season series. They smashed the chiefs the last time that they had played and they get home ice advantage. Shout out to wooser warning that final for the final game against sense and it. She's a embering, though. We're a first place steam in that division right hey, and and I know I know where what people are going to say when I'm when I'm going with this, but you look down the stretch for the renegades. They won four games down this tretch. Also like the it's the self of the P I don't think we've talked about it enough. If if we see some some weird things happened down there this up coming week and I would not be surprised by any means. Also, my favorite thing about the south and you don't want to count out the chiefs or the running gads. Yeah, but there is a good chance that both in the EH on ehlp the South Division final can be the sevens and little flyers. Yeah, and I know in talking to mark cash on the nightmare that he still has is the last time that we were in Providence. This is march of two thousand and nineteen. The Little Flyers EHLP loses the championship game to the wolves. Yes, and the EHL team loses the championship game to the avalanche, the lastie double bonus that you do not want. The last time we were in providence and like it's I forget what it who. We called it something, I can he called it. I called it like a doomsday something, because in that same year the sevens lost and had were elimited, both on the same day. Also eh L E E hlp. I remember being on the call for both of those, Wilke Sperry and the EHL, and I think I was actually the little fires in the e hlp and who the referred to his doomsday Sunday as being slightly better than catch Ron's joms day some day, because his game like early on in the playoffs...

...and catchups with championship Sunding, and I was like fair way to look at it. He's like that's a nightmare. My is like half a nightmare, something like something like that. So, NIS, Neil, Neil, I still remember that glove save by Walker on Zach Tarantino. Yeah, I'm as Walker that that one is. Thomas Walker made more saves and frozen finals his and you will you unlock the bad memory deal. I'm sorry. We love to swagger, yes, but that that tells you where you're at right now, heading into the second round in the EHL, in the first round and the EH LP. And of course there were brackets involved in this. So let's get to fantasy and talk about our brackets so far. It's time for the e crew fantasy challenge and the e crew fantasy challenge decided by biet steel. These sports drink of the PHO. Use the Promo Code e show. That's es how for twenty five percent off when you check out at Bible steelcom. All right, so we'll start with the brackets and at the start by recognizing Justin's bracket. It's technically the best of all of our brackets. Well, everyone knows. So he's got douser squatiri will. He's got forty eight points to the rest of us that aren't even in the forties. So it's a it's another year gone by and nobody's perfect, which if we ever have a perfect bracket, I am gonna make it a rule that whoever gets that perfect bracket Automathley wins the whole thing. It has to, because it's so hard to get a perfect racket. You have giving her go home. You have to acknowledge that. But in terms of what we did this past week, it's funny how how laurence fantasy works, and Lauren is on assignment today for hockey night. was some high school stuff, so that's why she's not here right now. But for Laurence Fantasy, she either has the best week of all of us all the worst week. There's there's no in between. The repect her third first, her life. Yes, your last is the other picks first or last east week. It really is that simple. So poster Ricky Bobby in the room, why do you, when you look at her points from this past week in terms of her four players who weren't bad picks, she got five points to go on to assists. That's it. So then she got thirty four points for her bracket, which made her pick first this week. She started with drew all very upfront, who's currently tied for the League lead and postseason points with nine. Matt Herrick on defense for the eighty sevens. I'm going to skip a guy for a second, come back to Henson, and then Adam Bove, a utility, and then go to Henson now, because I got to give Lauren credit here. She's had such trouble with the goaltending position that she said I'm gonna go with the goalie that I know it's gonna Start, like like there are no doubt Henson's going to start, for she's gonna get points right, she can't even like I picked him Rom one, like like her picking Jeremy Conner wasn't a bad pick because he's the age olt compared to Haynes and like he's been there, he's probably going to start. And then holly was like, well, we just kind of one game one and convincing fashion. will go out to the hands again and game too, like watch the eight, seven issues conner, the whole little flyers series and the whole thing kind of makes no sense. But that's her lineup for this upcoming week. And then to give ourselves credit, the three of us, we all had better weeks than that, I will say, but not still not enough to catch lauren who jumped, who has just jumped so far ahead of us. But I'm getting closer. Yes, you are getting glaciers. So to go to Anthony's Anthony's bracket, are his picks? First, Colin Bella, as I mentioned earlier. I got him a goal on the power play for four points. James Metler a pair of assists, Nathan Miller a pair of shutouts, and then Charles l law with two goals, one of the power play. You combine that with his bracket points, that's seventy point eight for Anthony and Anthony. It's like chalk. For you this week, do you use two of the same guys? Yep, going back to aiden Hotchkiss, seven points in two games. That, thou was just ridiculous figures, while he had sixty one points in forty five games in the regular season. And I have to go some of the eighty sevens on defense and going with Jimmy metler. He had two points in that series against the ducks. For goaltenders, I mean who else? Nathan Miller just past branded brolly, by the way, for all time wins in the Eastern Hockey League, if you include both regular season and playoffs. So big congratulations to him. Also getting some separation with the shutouts, both winds being shut out for him and run number one and then definitely okame. He has been lights out, especially in the playoffs. Use Great in the whole stretch of the regular season and he's kept that going in the playoffs. Four goals to assist in six games. Like I said, nearly picked up the hat...

...trick in Flemington. But he's obvious pick for my utility spot. And Jeff, you pick next, even though my initial calculations had knee picking next. But because everyone knows, I'd cheat and they added two point four points to myself. And that's good. Don't you do the late ads there be yeah, I mean I love you about it. Adela, to point four, two point four points for myself, still significantly in fourth place. Never last past fourth place. It up to screen. But but Jeff, okay, last you can pick less. Jeff had the next highest, motal. Four assists for Colin Callin and nothing from Ryan Bro Joseph Hanson, a pair of wins, two goals for assists and one power play point from Matt Carlson. Plus yet thirty seven bracket points gave you seventy seven point eight. Who Do you have in the second round? All right, let's try to stay in order this week, Shelley, I'm do. Okay, yes, please playoff week. So we go forward first. Thank you, hippany. I will take Matthews the day the withs four, five hundred, please. Seven points in two games for him, two goals, five assists. He was all over the place in that PROTEX series. So hoping for some more of the same from Matthews. Dannis on defense had kind of a quiet first round, but a guy that we all picked a lot during the regular season, tyler and a Stasi, finished with three points and forty one games the regular season. Had Two points in that series against the Apple Court. Both were helpers. So hoping he can get back up to what he was doing in the regular season and be a big power play contributor on that series against chiefs. And then I'm hoping to get a little Jack Lee magic, because nobody's picked this kid yet. But he was a pretty big monster up in the Conia for the second half of the season. Alex lay RECI seventeen points of fifteen games. Very symmetrical to new or almost so mutable. Nine goals, eight assists. Likes to score, likes to distribute. He had a goal and five assists, six points that first years against ver month. So open for Larrasy to stay hot and then speaking to stay in hot and Voconia. Why Not Liam Kill Gallant against the New Hampshire Avalanche? You know the avalanche. You're going to get a lot of shocks on kill Gallen. He only played a one out of those six matchups in the regular season against the avalanche and he got the win. You have a four goals but to get the win. So we're going to see what kill gallant has and his goaltending attire and see. We'll see if he stays. Hopefully just stays in the net. Do not get out of the crease. Nothing like we're Marley and say that blue paint and give me some Dou w's lead. That's it. That guts to me and for the second straight year I start to perform my best in the postseason of fantasy. Contrary to last if you caught contrary to last year, I was catching up to Brittany and taking over for the lead. This year, I don't know if I can do that this year. I would need something pretty significant to happen here in the second round. But for my pics this week, since Jeff is going back on track in order, I'm not going to so, Dad. I'M gonna go from when my forward of my utility. First I need the railers. So I have to get like a hundred points this week, right, in order to way like truthfully. So I need I need the railers and chiefs series to become almost like a home run Derby verm in a hockey between Jack Divine and Damon Dulac. If you could both just score twelve goals each, we're in business, right. Perfect. Great. So I now that's my forward, in my utility, my defenseman, of my goalie. Totally contradicts everything that I say. That everyone all year long and its look like an idiot because they're going against each other. What. Let's talk about that, right. But, as I said in my in the group me, I have reasoning. The reasoning is Victor Malzon will put up points, but they're also going to put up so many shots on Jack boss shirt that it's all going to watch itself out. Boss Birthday, you're going. All we need this week get a hundred and forty one saves in the in the first round. We're going for two hundred and eighty this week. If that happens, I could win this whole thing. We're in business right Jack will be on an ivy in the hospital. So that's my lot up to recapper at for the full season. Actually, it's do bracket first. I mentioned Justin had that has the best bracket at forty eight points right. That's that's pretty damn good compared to us. So good for the brand. Yes, Jeff, you're at thirty seven, Anthony and Lauren or each at thirty four, and I'm at thirty three. Overall standings, Lauren is a eight hundred and nine point four, jeff is at seven hundred and ninety two point four, Anthony's at seven seventy six and I'm at seven hundred and fifty five point four. So, as you can see, like my chances are really not that high. But Jeff you aren't closing that gap on Lauren at the top. So for fantasy we have this second round, and where it makes things really interesting is we're going to have one more round after this and that wild feature just the two wild card games. So in a way the picking order could be very important for we into those...

...wild card games. Were setting we want to lose this one? I don't know. You know, I'm gonna go back there. Of My ladschitch just like it's really interesting because we're going to have each of us is going to have a lot up for those two wild card games and ideally there's only four goalies and four of us. So if you pick last, you don't have you have the last guy of relating. So it's going to be a very interesting but that will take us now into what to watch for. Before we wrap things up, here's what you watch for this week in the east. Show what to watch for was presented by Hockey TV, the official streaming platform for your EHL and EHLP action through the two thousand and twenty one, two thousand and twenty two season. So let's just go around the horn fasts and each pick a series per division. EHL and EHLP that we are most looking forward to and, contrary to what I've done in the past, you guys pick first, so I don't steal what you'd want to pick. If they would you like to go first or would you like me to go first? I have as EHL. We know as EHL. It's eighty sevens in attle fun but it's a legit series, so you can say why Anthony? Yeah, you have the flyers, who have been so great off pensively the entire season, and eighty seven scoring fifteen goals in two games against PROTEP. It's couldn't be a battle the offense and also, be fair to Joseph Henson as all own Haynes. goaltending and defense have also been pretty good for both teams. So I mean these are just two sack teams going on against each other. It's going to be a battle. Tom wilms will have the call on Wednesday. I'll have the call Friday for at least games one and two. I'm sure Tom wouldn't mind getting another game for a deciding game three on one day EHLP series to watch. I mean I'd say eighty seven and chiefs, because Chris and I get to be on the call for at least to those games and also third one if necessary. Again, shout out to the railers for help them they get home. But another matchup to watch out for for the the EH LP. I'd have to say the lumberjackson warriors. The the lumberjacks have both teams have been really terrific this season and they've given the avalanche to fits throughout the regular season. I think that should either one of them move on and I have to go up against the AFF Leach, it could be a really good series. All Right, Jeff, you are next. Kind of want to go avalanche wolves in both but I also I feel like I have like a one B with the AHL avalas wolves and Rangers Express, because Rangers Express every time they play it's usually a one goal game, is usually low scoring, which makes sense this year too, with Bosher Miller going hand for hand and both offenses are a little sparse when it comes to scoring goals and they have that playoff field to them. But then avalanche wolves, because the wolves have been the biggest team, like the sevens in the premiere with their storming back up the standings in the second half. That's what the wolves did in the AHL and their second half. And can they push the avalanche a little bit? We saw some scary play, not in the playoff series to the Abbas, but at the end of the season wolves one hundred and fifty four and that final match up against the ABS. So can they play off some magic? The last time we were in the frozen finals. Dealer, mind me, your boy Jack Johanson, knowing the wolves. Wow, yeah, that was that shift game. Yeah, it was that championship. Yeah, before he went to the wizards after that, but es so me. So maybe the HLP wolves come back to Schneider. They like it there. I don't know. So, yeah, I think those are three good series. I give you a little botus there to kind of watch out for. All right, so I'm going to go with railers chiefs. So, sorry, do lack versus divine. That's why I'm going all was first in the EHL. That's the one that I need to explode. I just think that's that's set up to be a free game. Awesome. Everyone all in on winning that Central Division finals. And then for the EHLP, I really have my eye on the rangers versus the Seahawks, because the Rangers, it was interesting with the railers. They it kind of came down to really just that last matchup, and if the Rangers hadn't gone to overtime in that game, we may be a different series right now. Last time these two teams faced off, the seahawks one seahawks maybe trying to get some revenge for the EHL series, rangers trying to make it double up, if you will, win both the EHL and the EH LP. So I'm looking at that series. So that will do it for this week's episode. Lauren will be back on with us next week to preview what will be, at that point, the wild card games, but for this week we're focus first on the second round in the EHL, in the first round in the EH LP.

I'm sure it will fly by just as fast as week one did and hopefully be just as chaotic. So enjoy it, guys, you're looking through jigs. Thanks for listening to the e show.
