Gerard is now the starting Netminder of the university in New England and was just recently named the goalie and rookie of the week in the CECC. Moving along to the weekly run down, in this week's updates to the EHL and EH L P power rankings feature a handful of shakeups following the Harl showcase. As for the e crew fantasy challenge, Lauren is now taking over the top spot thanks to a shutout versus a top five team. And then, last but not least, we wrap things up with our what to watch for, a segment that includes a little post draft discussion for the upcoming two thousand and twenty one Eh Shel All star classic. I'm joined now by Billy Gerard, and alumni of the Boston junior rangers and the current starting goaltender at the university New England has going. Billy and Neil, how are you? I do doing well and thank you for coming back on the PODCAST. You're on the very first episode we ever had and now you're back on for episode ninety seven because you were just recently named the CECC's goalie of the week and rookie of the week. Had that award make you feel? It's just good to see some sort of, not recognition, but some sort of substance for for all the hard work over the past year and a half with everything going on. So you know, I just didn't do it by myself. My teammates help me get that award and we also had them one of our fowards that got the player of the week too. So, you know, just great to finally get back into hockey and and see those stuff come out, because it just shows that hockey's back. Yeah, that as my next question, because you played twice last year against Colbe of course twice already this year against Nichols. How does it feel to be to be back in action? I mean it feels great, it really does. We played a total of five scrimmages last year. Yeah, playing three of them and and that was those were good experiences made. It really did help, you know, moving forward. But you know, we didn't plan front of fans and the Games are a little weird. We had to wear masks and stuff. So then, you know, these past week and Nichols, we played there and then they came to us on Saturday night and I mean it was a packed house. I mean it was unreal. It was that we, the fans, were unreal. You can't think, but no, and I was just excited to be there and I would have played another six minister looking forward to this upcoming weekend to it's going to be a big weekend. So it's just great to get back into things and, you know, be able to play without mass and any restrictions right now. So it's great. Did you have to kind of pinch yourself, as it did. It finally feel like you were playing college hockey. Um, I think it was more so like the fan atmosphere, like I think that really kind of like put it back in perspective. I remember going out for the first period and like people are applauding, like cheering, and it was just it felt really good's just kind of step on the ice and take take those couple laps there before the start of the game. So yeah, that was a good experience. When it comes to skaters, getting your first goal, your first point as always a huge moment when they go to college. Obviously, for goaltenders it's different to already have four wins under your belt. Did it feel like an immediate kind of monkey off your back and on any stress the you could have had was immediately gone? Um, yeah, I know. Going into this upcoming...

...weekend, I mean I had prior experience with the Games last year. You know, it is what it is. Last year they some of them were intense, of them weren't. So I kind of knew what to expect, but you know, the stakes were a little bit higher and you know now we're actually playing for two points both those nights so you know, I kind of took a little bit to just come back into things and was able to find my I find my rhythm and and you know, we got two big wings move forward. So that's always a great start. And when you look back at your time in the EHL, of course you's joined the rangers part way through the two thousand and eighteen nineteen season. Then you were the guy the nineteen twenty season. How valuable were those two years for you and your development? I mean super valuable. I mean I was able to learn to that last year at Bgr I was able to play with big minutes and big games and and we had a great team in front of me as well. So you know, really helped me hone in my on my game and learn to play at a high level on a consistent basis. And the year before was also and you know, still able to play a good amount, but it was also, you know, being able to balance a couple things as well, with with not getting, you know, the full ice time and, you know, splitting some weekends with with my goalie partner Aiden so Carey at in Korea at rock courts. So you know, it was just a good balance of things and then it just folded over really nicely that last year there. And obviously there were so many games that you played throughout your time with a Rangers Jersey on it. You see two of them behind you right now. But there are also the games that you got to play for our Allstar team against the colleges. You started against Fitchburg, you played against you Mass Boston. How valuable were those two experiences for you while you were still playing in juniors? Those were huge. I mean, I know after that Fitchburg game was a good boost for my confidence and I remember looking back on that game after that and saying, like you know, that was a good little stepping stone for me and and really saw like a lot of things I worked on the summer kind of tie and nicely to those games. So you know, and that was a great kick start for the recruiting, you know, leading up to there. That's kind of you. You and he kind of talk to me before then, but you know, that was a probably a good a good platform to showcase myself for them as well. So you know, it was a great experience and not everyone can can be a part of it, but it's definitely something super unique that I don't think a lot of junior teams or junior leagues do. So yeah, and we bring up you any obviously, being a kid from Florida, when to the school and Maine come on your radar. They came. They came to me probably very close into the early part. Maybe I remember talking to coach Ross, who's now at MERRIMAC now. He came to me. Ah, we've had the showcase at Robin arena, so that was like only probably like a third or fourth game and then they kind of washed that the at the showcase, you know, the Hl Star showcase, and then just kind of took off from there. I remember in January kind of picked up. So, you know, I did did a couple visits and then, you know, when I did my overnight, I was like, you know, this is this is the place. It kind of feels like home with with being near the beach to kind of all kind of tied in, and then I just felt really comfortable with the coaching staff here and and the school. Schools been great so far with my major and whatnot. So it's been great. And what is your major and did that play a factor and you choosing? You any? Yeah, my major's applied her size science. So I want to do strength conditioning when I'm done with hockey. And Yeah, it's a big program here. It's it's very big and it's very successful and so you know it. When looking at the couple schools I was looking at, that was definitely something that was like, okay, well, this just makes even more sense to kind of go here because it's a great program. I'm going to fit in well and I can see myself moving forward with with what I want to do...

...after hockey. Yeah, and looking back on the way that the two thousand and nineteen twenty season ended, which of course, was your last year of Juniors, a year that you were named the goalie of the year, obviously you were unable to play any playoff games because everything that took place, where you could maybe laugh back at this now, because you're surrounded by a strong core of ehl players, but in particular there's a couple from the LUMBERJACKSON. Now you have an assistant coach for your team who used to coach from the lumberjacks. How often is that end of the two thousand and nineteen twenty season discussed and is there any conversation of the Rangers would have beat Vermont or the other way around. There was last year for sure, when we were moving to the dorms and stuff like that and jerseys were getting put it on the walls. There was some conversation about it. Funny you and mentioned it now because my roommates us here this s Canyo and buffaling and we actually have Jamie's Anka who's living in the house to awesome. So and then we got coach Mossil over the summer. So he said a couple Vermont things and BGR things. So we go back and forth here and there, but more so last year than than anything. And watching them play in the in the frozen four. That was fun to watch. Two we were watching together, so it was exciting. So did you kind of get your own pound your chest moment when the range is won the whole thing a little bit? Yeah, it definitely felt good that a lot of the guys that I played with were on that team aging out and they want it. So you know, for us age outs, I didn't get the play in that in that tournament and go far like we definitely felt like we were a part of that little run there. So that was definitely something cool and uniqueek. And now, as you look ahead this weekend, you guys, as you started to mention earlier, you get the chance to face and it caught, which is the last program that I one accc title before everything that's taking place. How do you kind of stay in a moment this weekend, knowing how big it will be for yourself? Yeah, no, I mean it's just another weekend of hockey at the end of the day. You know they're a good team, they're they're gonna they're going to be skilled and it's going to be a hard heart environments playing and and yet again, those in the moments you want to play in as a player. So we're really excited to play them. I know they are going to be excited to play US too, and we're neck and neck. Were two rankings off from them, so we want to keep moving up the board and and we know it's going to be a good, hard test for us and it's going to be because good for us earlier on the season. So yeah, we're forward to it and I know I'll be watching. I know your former coach, which dicaprio, will be watching as well. And congrats again for the awards that you just won and thanks for coming back on the PODCAST. Thanks for having me again. I'm being here thanks again to Billy Gerard coming back on the PODCAST. He was on the very first episode, it's just like a decade ago, and then on, of course, this episode number ninety seven. But with that, let's bring in the e crew and guys. I don't know if I want to label this as a mistake that I made, but nobody noticed what I did with the stars of the week. Did you guys notice what I did? Oh, I don't think so. I didn't notice it untill afterwards. If you look closely at the players that I selected for the EHL and for the EH LP, there's only three organizations covered. It's the Seahawks, the little flyers in the railers, just in different orders for the EHL and the EHLP. I didn't even notice it. I don't know if it's a mistake. I mean all three organizations had great weekends. So I was just going to say, you know, I mean it's not really coincidence because they all looked amazing inhale swept the weekends. Yeah, so that's okay, that sometimes it happens, you know. So the three hundred teams here. Need all your players in. I noticed it after I posted because I tagged the team pages, so the articles show up on their team page in the website. So, of course, and the EHL. The forward was from the Seahawks, defensemen from the little fly are scully from the railers, and then you move it around. EHLP for little flyers, defense been railers and goalie seahawks. But, like...

...you guys said, you just you reassured me that all six of these guys earned it. So with that, let's get into the weekly run down. It's time for the e cruis weekly run down. The eashow weekly rundown is brought to you by the junior hockey podcast, your home for junior hockey news, knowledge and nonsense. Check them out of tjg podcastcom. And I think we're going to start ehl this week. We started pe last week. We have the easiest way to start ever. The railers swept the weekend one all three of their games and they beat the Rangers. The railers are the new number one team in the EHL. They have to be. Yeah, I think I said that are one of my broadcast was well, you just made this easy for the crew. We're bumping you up and sorry, rich, we're going to bump you maybe down. Also with the railers. I just want to give a quick shout out to the deaths of family. That's a speak with them at the showcase. Big Fans of the pod and they appreciate the the work we do and that they do perfect job over there. It's just a very well run organization, the EHL and the P team. You still have the PT and continue to dominate in that showcase to so they're doing a really good job up there. Well said. That was awesome to see big Mike a deaths of there. That's he did nothing with kind words for all of us and and we thank them. I mean they put together a great product that makes it really easy for us to have fun like we do and be able to create this Greek product. So yeah, that's troub will done, Anthony, and I'm glad you brought it up the Anthony, because earlier this year you gave me a hard time for my showcase scheduling. Now you have another member of your club and Mike Adessa. So at one point over the weekend both railers teams are playing at the same exact time and he looked at me and goes, could you please direct me to the Scheduler for these games? And I'm like wait, looking at them, that's me, and he's like, I'm the nicest chop of the kneasy that right now about the scheduling. It was so good. Bomb. And yes, it was so good though, because he was like, well, you may have to push my chair over there so I can go watch that side next. So it was like okay, right, going to get one of the computer chairs so we can roll in roll out. Yes, this could going back and forth. So yeah, a three and all weekend. I think all was unique because they won each game in a different way, right. You know, after the lumberjacks game that they won five to four, the whole coaching staff is like, we didn't play that well, okay, but you're one still so like you still want like, and then the next day they're like, we didn't play that well yesterday, so we're going to call up our EHLP goalie and we're just gonna almost, I have to say, blow out, blow out valley, because they want seven to one. They probably played their best game of the season and then they followed up their best game in the season with an even better game against the Rangers, who have been shout out one time each in the previous two years. Like shutting out the Rangers as a big deal. Yeah, very big deal. And Yeah, like you said, you know that was we previewed that and that he rebound episode. That was a gauntlet of a schedule. Lumberjacks, Warriors. Can't judge the warriors by the record. They've lost a lot of tight games. And then the Rangers, and they passed all tests of flying colors. And I had the pleasure of calling that railers warriors game. That was my first game of the showcase. And Yeah, seven one. They were fast through all three zones and Loppierre, I was confused. I looked and I was like no, cool on it, no Maluski, and then Lauren text me was like, Oh, Lop, here's the PE goalie. He's being called up. Why? How are you going to watch? Right, like, there's no need to take coolt Kamaluski's place. But that just shows the depth of the organization. And Yeah, Zavila Pierre Pass his test to and his first act that you can call him up and the P teen still does well because they, like you said, they have that depth and they have right people that they can fill that spot with, because they have wiccans, who was up piers p partner and he's just absolutely holding it down from back there. So it's good to see that. Yeah, I called the the PEA game between the railers in the seven s and they're just stacked from top to bottom...

...where you can put in Lapierre, you can put in wikings, you can put in any goaltender in there. You can probably put me in there. I still find a way to get a shut out. Are we gonna do that at the KNOWINGTON showcase? Anthony, bring the game. You know, I used to when I work for the the titans in the Nahl and also with the eighty sevens. I actually sometimes have my skates and would wheel around. I was more of a full word, like have you ever played goalie before the street hockey? You have never ice. One of my friends growing up made a rank in his backyard every year and we would all tonight who got to be goalie, and just one shot off my face and I was like, I am never doing this again. This is not a fun like always, not fun at all. I caught for ten years of baseball, which is very different than goaltending. So I feel like similar because you got something fast come flying at you. But yeah, street hockey goaltending is enough to Yep, you take one pucker, one ball off of weird area and you're like yeah, those guys, I'm good with this. So but of course the railers, as we said, one all three of their games, awesome to see. They're only in their third year in the EHL. Right, it's crazy. They're only on their third year in the EHL. But then the new number one ranked team. Yes, the Rangers Split Their Games at the showcase because of that, but I don't know if they can really fall much further than number two. Well, yes, they lost, but they lost the rail greet that one. Oh, who goes to to? I can APP to the APPS, who I agree. Wow, I think they played very well this weekend and Jeff I actually called one of their games together, which was a lot of fun, and they're pretty solid. So I think they would get bumped up ahead of beach are, I think is I think they did really well this weekend. The absolute for me and larned could be posted soon and I know that hose on the call for that one and have valanche over the Rangers. I was further away than you were, Anthony, and this play ended up in the top place, that crazy scramble at the end. I came to you and I thought that Mobley got that save. It was Haggin's that made that sit. Yeah, text call. Make sure I got verified too, because I think there's Justin had like sentence. To me it's like you just take a look at this, and I was looking through it. I was like, I couldn't really tell who it was. So I reached out to Thomas Semsey. I was like, was this you? Because there's like a big body of her, like that's gotta be like that would be something dempse you would do, because he's like a big like Backu, like on the back end, and we're like that's gotta be him, and I reached out. He goes, no, that's that's actually higgins. He goes, that's he can throw himself out there and I was like, oh, that's good. He scored toys this weekend to he was doing it all. Huh Really? Yeah, sension of the week. That's see, was unbelievable. He went home. He looked like a secret service age and protecting the president, just the way you kind of threw himself in front of the park. I could. I thought the eighty sevens are going to tie that game, and because I remember coming to you and saying like what a crazy sequence, and you're like no, go watch it again and yeah, it's in the top plays. Hagan's did make that safe. It sounds like I'm getting outnumbered here, and the three of you want the avalanche, at to which I was saying Rangers, you know, but I'm okay, you're say rangers too. Yeah, I guess we got to go to our fifth voice again, wizard of Oz, just since didn't reveal yourself from the curtain. Police Sir, I vote a blanch. Okay, so then, I don't think we have to talk too much about three. Then, if the ABS are to the Rangers have to be pat we can't kick them down much further than Oh my God, arm disagree with you a little bit this morning. Why they lost one game, Lauren. I think we have a real are on the line now. But I think you're forgetting about a certain team that you guys all love to forget about, the PLF boys, the Blue Flyers. They I do enough solidly this weekend. They swept...

...the weekend as well, and I feel like they're getting a little bit discounted here. They're in the power I think I understand that, but to put them below a team that split the weekend and they swept the weekend, I don't think that makes sense. But there's still fourteen, three and they had a nine game winning streak and they lost one and all sorts of fashion. They've had shutouts. They they still have the two best, two of the better goalies in the league. I just I still think we're slipping on a little flyers. I think even if, like even when a little flowers, do take a loss, it's not that bad of a loss and I think they're totally getting discredited and I think they deserved to be higher than beat you. I don't think theseos gonna fall lower than for but I don't think they deserved three for splitting the weekend. Hence my lauren's wearing plf be nei today be he where in the beanie to supporting the crew. They did look very good at the pleasure called a couple of their games. They look fast, they do look like they've turned the corner. I have a new addition to Chris blanks then okay, go Gregango and Adam beat so that's like two new faces and the fact that they just seamlessly added them in and Bova had some beautiful goals this weekend. Blanko was just why fly and almost be given time when it was gross. He just streaked down the left wing, he took a shot in stride top right corner. It was a snipe and a half and I almost thought, I guess I think them the wrong day for an interview because he got a good goal of the first day, but the second day he got like couple as says, he got the OT wher. I was like, Blano, like of like, I guess I picked the wrong day for you, but I guess at the same time my interview was good luck because he went and just absolutely killed it the next day. Like the flyers, I think are getting super sleft on this season and I don't think the VJ ards there was to be above them if they split the weekend and beat and the little flyers absolutely swept and just ran away with their games. They beat the wizards like six to three. I think I think six or seven two three, six, the three. That's ridiculous. Also, just to support Lawrence Point, the flyers have won five of their last six games and only one of those wings came within that South Division. So if you want to argue that the South Division isn't great, fine that that's that's your prerogative. But they've been beating teams from around the League, not just as the South Division. So I do think Lawrence got a point. The flyers do have the case to move up in the power rankings. My God, Jeffrey, are they both below you? Blow you again. Also on the show, Lauren's and my right corner anthonies in my bottom left. Okay, because last week they were going like this, like side to side each other. Now they're going at me. They're going atop up top, at attacking us here. Rookies have their own agenda. Something at the two better. I just fuck you'RE gonna get the Rangers all the way down from one to four because they lost one game to the railers. Like the railers are a really good team. I can't exactly so, so so they should say it. I Sid. No, they split the weekend and the little flyers didn't lose a single game. I think they deserve to get moved up for that. I do not. They're still coming, but anthony agrees of Lauren. Right, the wizard. Just so we're going to their first voice again, I guess, Justin second also, a great fires up to three rangers down the floor. Jeff, we are getting buried on this podcast. or where's this sort morning? I came prepared. Again, you usually hold the door for me when I'm leaving. Well, come on, buddy, let's go. Let's go out together. So let's keep the trend going that. I guess I shouldn't assume that we're going to bump the rangers to for should we have a vote to kick them out? No, I think that. I think they do. Okay, they sput the weekend, so I can, I guess, still respect that. But I think I think that's what as low as they should fall. And I cannot wait for you. Nine winning streak. Yeah, they're literally gonna say, Teo, what the hell, and I'm going to say you have to go with it, like you have to go. Look, going to be which is going to be very irate. We have, you know what the the whole point of the power akings just is to motivate right for a team that won the whole thing last year. We are just adding motivation. That's all we're doing right now. Not...

...a great idea, folks, but but hey, you know what we're gonna is? WRIs going to go into the locker room and and he's going to say the media is trash talking about they don't know. So we gotta prove everyone wrong. He's gonna put it out. We're bolting board material now. That's right, he good. So to recap so far, because what also, what also is gonna bug the Rangers is the avalanche jump them. That's also gonna pluck them here, because see Chris's big face smile. A good so recap the Anthony and Lauren Power Ak me. So far it is the railers at one, the avalanche at to our sorry Anthony Lauren, and Justin power rankings, railers Thatt one, avalanche at to little flyers at three, Rangers. I'm putting my foot down at four and then five. I guess we have to figure it out because Maryland, I don't know what to think of Maryland. I don't either, because they common. They win the first game and then they get shut up by the lumberjacks five nothing. Where did that game come from? I did that game too and I was just like, HMM, not great. If you want to get off our episodes plus that, I gotta say that two hundred foot goal from Tyler penry was just ridiculous. HMM. Lumberjacks are looking good. They had a talking about gauntlet of the schedule. Gary Gil and the boys haven't slept in their own bed and weeks. Was that? Five Games and seven days? And then so they went down for Ria Lettie. Yeah, they played last week. They beat the wizards on Tuesday, the seahawks on Wednesday lost, the avalanche on Thursday lost. So the railers on Saturday beat Maryland, shut out Mariland find nothing on Sunday. Now they're home, hopefully well rested. I don't know if they moved in. I think mariland still stays at five because they did split the weekend and they are still craziest sounds there is. They have games in hand, but they still have a ten point lead in the South Division. Yeah, like that's a lot. Like that. That is a pretty I mean look at the leads honestly, up and down the League, at each division. Right now, avalanche have an eight point lead, Rangers have a six point lead, railers, of course, have an eleven point lead and then Marilyn has a ten point lead. When the Games in hand all play themselves out, maybe things get a little bit tighter, but the four teams in first place right now are in first place and pretty secure in those spots. I think Mariland does have to stay at five. And then we get to our favorite segment, receiving votes. This one's fun. Who's received votes this week? And you could go anywhere with this. Yeah, you really could. There's teams that are turned around really say receiving boats, but almost like a team to watch. Putting this a little bit ahead of our later segment, I think. Still, I think I'm so still heap an eye on the chiefs because, honestly, watching them this weekend, yes, they did take a pair of losses, but if you really look at those losses, they weren't that bad. They were really tight losses. They went into like overtimer shootouts every time. So like to me that's not a terrible loss. So I think they should not be hanging their heads after this weekend. They lost in overtime to the SEAHAWKS and they lost in a fire alarm shootout to the SPARTANS. That was fun listen, or Justin harshaw's in the middle of his shot and the first one warm of the second fire alarm. I heard it. I heard it when all those Wentman, you're right, alarm. Yeah, that's right. It was like going down there was like okay, so the firelarm one off on backtoback dates the first stay. The puck hit it, like, I can't make this out. I heard. I heard the plot hit the roof behind me and then hit the wall and then hit something else and a second later, like starts blaring and I looked down in the handle is pointed down. Like how the puck could hit in that exact spot and knocked the handle down is just beyond me. And it didn't. Not some job of being. Laurence Smith, the ringside reporter,...

...you texted all of us because I was on the air, and I'm like what is going on? Ye, and it goes. I just saw it. A player hit the fire alarm, sources confirmed. And then or as I'm sitting right here, the second day, it was not me ordering popcorn, even though I had plenty of popcorn after the after the Sunday night. I take us. Ryan brought a ball up for me to have. It was over. That was like it must have been for gallons, like it was. My head is huge and it was like three times the size of my head. My mouth on money was like I need water by those like that Spongebob episode. Yes, I did mean that boy still baby, hydrate, hydrate, but someone bread the popcorn and it was right when Whitman actually clutch to the PUCK and Jeff, I I have to politely, in a fun way, call you out. Please do. Did you almost miss the shootout? Yep, because it was a little confusing deal. I mean, if we go back to the elementary school days, right, firearm eats eggs of the building, like half the people around of the Building Hal be poor still. And it was legitimately smokey because I walked out I was like, Oh my God, stinks in here, like I'm gonna go yes, breath of presh air for a second, and then I saw the fire department come in and they looked like they were doing it and they came in quick and then I was like, Oh, Whoa, okay, and then did you hear if they did you hear what they were saying in the lobby? They were trying to find like wish detector like went off and they couldn't find it and then all of a sudden this Guy Y'alls for I don't even know where he was, he's like found it and then they go and turn it off and obviously we go back by the shootout. God, I don't want to hear any more fire alarm. So anytimes. Yeah, I'm done. I had one that was one of my favorite interview quotes. I interviewed tie Franchie after that game because like this kid was standing on his head during that game and I was like, oh, it's like what's going through a head during that shootout. He started and he hits me with well, the fire alarm was the first five minutes. I was like, okay, you know the they always talk about freezing the kicker and football will, I guess fire alarms and hockey is the way to freeze goaltenders and players and like well, I do want to badly arena last week too. That was the reasons I wasn't fire alarms and take a shot. It's that simple, Jeff. No bonus points to need for that hat trick. That is a hat trick you do not want. Of So last week we had the chiefs and lumberjacks receiving votes. I don't I think we just wash it out and just stick with our five and add more motivation to whoever wants to find their way in next week. Yeah, I kind of I don't know if I see who you're saying, Lauren, about the chiefs, but I just don't know if anyone truly deserves to receive votes this week. I'd be fine with doing nobody. So to recap, I feel pretty confident about our rankings as well, because this comes from a good friend of ours, Char Blackburn, showing me the national junior tier three rankings. Most of the teams that we have selected in our power rankings are listed in this rankings. We have the ABS, the railers, Rangers and the lumberjacks all in this tier three ranking. So that's pretty exciting and I feel like that speaks well to both our league and our knowledge so far these rankings. Yeah, I thought that you were about to say there. I feel confident about the rankings because myself, Anthony and Justin just made them. But the next level hockey sorry, yours reship. It's not brought to you by Lauren and Ethy and Justin, and Justin, he had a seat. He had to decide on you today. He had the deciding vote on two of these. So clicking over to the PA. I don't know the last time the railers haven't been number one in the PEA but obviously their number one in both now and I'm trying to find new things to stay about this team and the first thing I have to say is like, how dare you end your shutout? Street can give up a goal? How dare you do it? Because we wanted that to continue because it's been fun. But just white Krger of the New Jersey Rennegades, baby, they've won five stree, I know what is up. They've won five straight games, guys, and they've, I'll score their opponents twenty six to two. In that time. Is that good? Like it's pretty still only single digits and goals...

...all. They're only at nine. They're pushing double digits. Why? If they can make it over, like, if they can make it another week, that would be insane stupid without hitting double digit goals against like that would be absolutely insane. I just think solace in the fact that more than twenty percent of the goals they've given up have come against teams in New Jersey and the railers are outscoring their posand and eleven to two. Yeah, so the railers stay at number one. Obviously it's funny. They, you know, the Games in hand still have to play themselves out because they're not, quote unquote, in first place, but they are, you know what I mean, like like when the games played themselves out, they're gonna be there. But this seahawks team, it's a given up for them. Like this team is awesome, like they slept the weekend, just like they're EHL team. Did. They have this o five Netminder, Kevin Right, who got the goalie of the week. Who got to play? Anybody loves who got to play Sunday, couldn't play the Monday because he was in school. Right. So, like I yeahs parents coming up to pick him up and bring him back to school. That's it's trouble done. School is important. Athletes. Yes, all these good like you want to go in that cat school, be good at school. I mean you need it. You want to go to touch, you want to be a jump up, be good and I was spending a lot of time talking to bill about Kevin Right, and I don't want to get like too far out of myself, but he is starting to take on the same look of a former goalie in this league, in that division, EHLP, named Graham Burke, who played for the little fires in two thousand and eighteen nineteen really almost carried them to the championship. Right. He got them into the championship game. They lost the wolves there. He never played in the EHL, but now he's the starting goalie for the lone star Brahmas in the Nahl. Right, Kevin Wright could go on like that same path. He would, a hundred percent could, and he does have a start in the ehl this season as well. So yeah, it's a goalie we have to keep an eye on from here on out. Obviously. I think those are the one too. That just carries over from last week, railers and seahawks. We had the lumberjacks at three and the chiefs at for the lumberjacks won both of their games of the showcase. They beat the Express and they beat the warriors. So I think they probably should stay at three because of that. I don't think they did anything. You know, they're two wins versus the SEAHAWKS. Two wins. It's not enough to jump over after that. I don't know the chiefs. The chiefs split their games. They they got beat up pretty good by the little flyers. They did get a window to wrap up the showcase. Who Do you guys think goes to for because I do have a team that I think should be there. I'm just going to go to Lauren and Anthony. I know. I'm just gonna get out down. I think my answer, he's pretty obvious by my hat. I think the little fires, needy or little fliers back and their P team were pretty nasty as weekend taken the sweeps, so I think they deserve to be there. I don't like the little fires lost their first game to the APPALANCHE. Then they swept from there. Little fires had a great Sunday right they won both games. Johnny Lee, I think, had like six points just on Sunday, which is what powered him to four of the week. I think the Rangers have to be at for they've won four straight games. They beat the warriors in the very first game of the showcase. They're ten and six. Now there's seven and three in their last ten. So that's powered them power themselves back over five hundred. I think they have to be for those basically the East division almost a wall, almost the east division beast of the East Baby. All the Walpoles also good team and all post been in the power rankings this year. I just think it was almost a perfect week it for the little fires. If they had beat the the avalanche that that then maybe. But yes, my showcase scheduling to go...

...on the bus and come all the way up and that's the first game that you get. It's not easy. But I just think that the rangers sweeping their wee can completely and having one four straight, I think they have to be number four. I'm fine with that. Receiving votes can be pls. So holding on my little flyers. I think they would. Anthony, are you on on Lauren side in this one? To you on my side of Jeffcuse? Oh, no, I mean right now the little flyers P team is und ten and no, so they so or yeah, you tend to know. So they don't have the best record as opposed to a team like the Bosson junior rangers, but it's kind of like what I said about. I think it was the little flowers ehl team, where they can beat teams in different divisions, where they don't just rely on feasting on south teams like eighty sevens or the rennegades. That's a that's a tough one for me. I mean I think I do lean in favor of the Boston junior rangers. I think that they're just a really well built team and the rocket kind of speaks for itself there. So we'll go rangers for and then little fires receiving votes. And that gets us over to fantasy, where I got a little bit too high on myself on this week. Oops, it's time for the e grew fantasy challenge and the ecrew fantasy challenge is presented by bio steel. These for shrink of the Eho, use the Promo Code e show. That's es how for twenty five percent off when you check out at file steelcom. They not. I did not have any the gas this week. No, be deal. Not have a hat trick this week, but I have to say I did pick last backtoback weeks. Okay, to pick last three weeks in around would have been very hard, because, oh no, what so hard? Oh my God, I gotta box of tissues for you. You need some tears. I got you, Nat Jacob Applie got me an assists. Horror, papauser got me to assists hoverer to not get a game in net, and then Rossie got me an assist. So I felt good about my line up going in, but the nine fantasy points set me up to pick first this week, which I'll get over it because hopefully I pick last again next good to see you from the top meal that use my line I digested second time. So so my fantasy picks for the week. I we had our draft for the All star classic. Of course, the first two rounds we focused on goalies to make sure everyone got out of the way, and then I kind of just took over for my team with Josh Fust Goo and Terry Watt. I said this is going to be our first pick because this kid has been dynamite. Andrew Kimball has nine points in four games. His game winner against the chiefs was disgusting and he's just a dynamic forward. Power forward really uses his size well. The he's six one or six to as I meant. She's been really hot for them and I'm going to lean on him this upcoming weekend. Another defenseman that got selected in the All star classic is Tim Duffy. I've been very impressed with the player that I've seen from him. He's one of those players that when when the chance is there, he'll jump up in the rush, but also knows what his role is defensively, so hoping that there's big things coming from him. They're in goal. I'm going to go with Chris Jackson. We're not going to dive too much into what's going on with the Rangers right now, but there is a little bit of a sickness so I used by inside sources on who will be starting, so that's who I'm going with. They have a big home and home series with the East Coast Wizards and then Damon do lack. A funny story I have to share about him. I have the head shots folder from the railers because at times we've been using head shots for some stars of the...

...week stuff and when you put the photo on on sports engine sometimes it compresses. So I can go in and I can grab the original high quality headshot and I find Damon Dulax and then I find a second Damon Dulac. I don't know if I want to show it and share my screen right now, because the second Damon Dulac has taken off the shirt and the jacket that was underneath his tie for that picture and it's just the tie. They are chested and I was like Conras there like I was like that's a look like that had to be his taking the casual Fridays to a new level, right. So I thought the picture at I honestly laughed to myself in my Empty House here, my office, right very good ten minutes and I was HL headquarters. Clearly nobody else finds this funny right now because I'm laughing a boy myself, but I thought it was this terracle. So those are those are my picks. Who Do they have pick? Second? WAS IT Anthony? Yes, it was anthony. So to recap Anthony's picks from the showcase in the hotchkiss got you a goal and two assists for seven points. Victor Malz on, who I thought was an excellent pick for for your defenseman and has been great for the Rangers all year, didn't get you anything. Jackson Bernard actually didn't start in the second game against the wolves, but then came halfway through and and shut the wolves out in the second period and then stood pretty tall in the shoot up to get you a victory there and then Lucas back, say, with three fantasy points for you. So what are your what are your next fantasy picks look like? Anthony? Okay, taking a look at the next fantasy picks. Starting off at forward, I have from the the sea coast Spartans, the the Sparti's, the Sparty Party, whatever you want to call them, Cooper Board. Yes, sixteen points in twelve games. He has in each of his last three games he has two points. He had two points against the Connecticut chiefs. He had to assist against the little flyers in that overtime loss. It was really exciting matchup and I think he's been a forward on the rise for them. Big reason why the you know, the Spartans, have really kind of held their own this season and I'm gonna have him on my fantasy team this week. For Defense, going back to the nutmeke state baby here and everybody loved that. All the coaches, scouts are talking about that. At the shircase he has eleven points in nine games. The only game he did not record a point was the very first game he played. WHO's back on October three against avalanche. So he's on an Akis. Can is he an O for also? It's none of those young young guns. I think he's an all for Defenseman to which would make him one of the youngest defenseman in the League. He is, he is good. He moves the puck really well. Yep, and so I think he's also one of the the reasons why the rough riders have sort of come back this season. They started winning once he came back. A couple of other players as well, but I think he is a big reason why. Then for goalies, I have Stefan Kuhanik, we're talking about at the beginning of the podcast. The railers have just been unstoppable. Gohani's big reason why. He's won his last four starts. Got To go with him. Then for my utility player, going to the wall, pole express, Justin gwelh second on the team and points. Yes, seven points in wait now, let me. Let me he has nine points in his last four games. He has been dynamite. picked up a hat trick against the sea coast spartans. He sure didn't know that. There's there. I was waiting for someone to say that's being well done by just what that. Those are one of the best clips we've had. Yep, so he's so utility player. And there's Stair's. Anthony's lineup got on blanking on the order of what we pick...

...to pick. Next it was Lott to recap her picks from the showcase. Ben mcclashing was the pick that I was upset that I didn't get, but he had a quiet prized by him. I yes, he had a very quiet weekend. Thomas Dempsey got you an assist. Tyler pennery got you ten fantasy points. I'm sure that if you think that one of those goals, the empty net goal from two hundred feet away, should have been where for I beautiful and honestly, in the moment I should have been cheering harder for Maryland, because that shut out victory for Katie was a bonus game won and shut out against a top five team. That's the first we've had any of those this year. We've had games one, I guess, the top five team, never a shut up before, and and that's absolutely dyn in my performance by him and a big reason why she got eighteen points from Kattie. So I total of thirty points overall. And who do you got this week? I'm picking a few new faces, some we've seen so far this season. I am starting up front with a chief. This time I'm picking Jack Divine. I think my intro to him was hilarious. In the worster showcase I was pulling. I'm trying to pull a player after their win and that showcase and I was told by his teammates you gotta go with the Vine. He's The dustiest player on the team and honestly, he's been living up to that. He's been pretty solid for them, so I'm excited to pick him up and see what he'll do for me this week. And then I'm stealing one of these players from last week, Mr Victor Miles on. We've talked about beach are pretty being pretty hot, so hopefully he'll do well for me on the back end. And in met we just talked about Maryland as well. I'm picking up Mr John Warber. Maryland has been bit hit or miss, but I think their goaltending hasn't been all that bad, so I'm excited to see what he can do. And then this one is a little thank you to one of my new friends, Mr Stevie Brown. I'm part of him for the Allstar our game. I'm taking one of his kids, Lucas, back say I've been looking at his stats and he's been a fun one to watch. Colin Bell is right up there with him, but Luke's back state might be given him a bit of a run for his money this season. So I'm excited to pull them into my team and hopefully get some good points. He's very good returner. been here for a couple of years. I got picked a week one, I think you did, I think many hours ago. Collectively, have to now pause and give Jeff Round of applause. Thank you. This is the first time you've picked last all year. Correction, sir, the seconds, okay, and that I had that fifty one point, but this is true. He had the mega week. I shud have to take that. That's actually the highest point total of this of anyone in one week. Yes, I'm still jealous of one of your picks from last week. I was so mad when you picked him. So ter Sony got your five points. mettler actually said to you, I got you all those points last week. I'm not going to get you anything this week, Jim Guy. I know it always get likes from him on Instagram. What would Jimmy Butler? But what the heck man? And then, you know, just seventeen point four from Rodan Mobley and thirteen from Egan Schmidt, which we have said to you, Jeff Ukana, were going shock in the chalk paid itself off, because I need you won the week and honestly, we'll get to the overall fan he's he's fantasy standings in the second but things are a lot tighter now. So we were your picks for this week. Things are a lot tighter deals. So I guess you could say. One would say I'm getting a little cute this week, trying to mix it up. After going chalk one week. I'm like, Oh, it's let's stretch out, it's jazz it up a little bit. So let's see we're don't want to start. Should I start from the blue paint out? Yeah, why not? We're going to in with Justin Squirtier. He's red train, Chew Chew. Scott Bird enter my fantasy team. I had good luck with fantasy goalies in the past that had bird relations, one being to bias Falk instead, many moons ago with the old Brittany. It was that two years ago in the Falcon was a big goalie for Walpole. So, Mr Bird, let's go, let's fly into action and let's fly some more W's into...

...my use looking points. Weekend he was and I mean he pres him to win. Credit to him right. I mean Jack Bosher has been excellent. He's part of our allstar series coming up and bird is making him sweat a little bat me. I know a lot of goalies there their competitors, but they're usually friends too, and I'm sure that's the case. Is Bird coming over from the Charlotte Russian and he's look good to four one goals against a Nin and thirty three, say percentage, and three games for coach homes from. So let's hope that Scott Bird, I think they're playing three games this week's from hoping maybe he can get the two washer gets one. We'll see what happens. They're on d because I said I'm going to go from back end out. We're going to go somewhat simple here. It's not as cute Ryan Bro who has three goals twelve assists for Terry Watton again I do apologize to one, Terry Watt, for jarring him for his big board. He quickly told me the next day that that is his matchup board and the boys left his regular sized White Board in the locker room for him. So tarry again. Everybody apologize for for Jarn A. Yeah, there was the fans doing that. But Ryan brows coming on down and going to play some d for me this week. So it's hoping for big things from him. And then I'm going to Boston junior rangers, both outside the box, both players that Justin scuttery said. Who are they? But Jack Suallyiftkey, some people may forget, was on the championship team last year. Another guy that just came over from the New Jersey rockets already has three points in four games as a goal to assists. As a big, big kid, six four, two hundred and ten pounds, plays heavy likes to camp out in front of the nets. I'm hoping he can get a couple of powerplay goals or assists. And then the other unknown Boston Junior Ranger would be Mr Wilhelm Nilsen. And actually saw Nilsen. was that the trying remember all the different games? Yeah, I'd an assist against protect but he had a hat trick, so we're hoping for some hat trick points against valley on Halloween. Three goals and assists for him. He's already up to twelve points in seventeen games, five of those being powerplay points. Two goals on the powerplay, three helpers on the powerplay. So yes, those are my picks this week. Two Rangers, one duck, one reddick's Red Trade Express. And let's go overall points. Lauren is now looking down on us from the top with one hundred and ninety six point eight. I have one hundred and ninety three point two, Anthony One hundred and eighty nine point two and Jeff One and seventy nine point two. So you have to feel better about where you're at now. Jeff starting to kind of goose that gap a little bit. And you say it. He said a name in there. That's very interesting because of the call I got yesterday from Terry Watt with regards of the Allstar Classic, which I want to touch on now, and the what to watch for before we wrap things up, here's what to watch for this week in the east show, but to watch force, presented by hockey TV, the official streaming platform for your EHL and ehlpashing the two thousand and twenty one, two thousand and twenty two season. So Ryan Bro came to the College Series Against Curry and Um ask Boston and was probably our best defenseman. He actually is the one that had that long stretch past the Farrell dn against curry that led to a goal. Awesome Kid. I have even more respect for him after he talked to Terry and said a coach like I am pretty much committed. I'm not going to drop the school here because he's got two choices that all this financial informations come through and now he has to just pick one. He's like, so, I already have my choice. It's one of those two schools. So this event would be more beneficial for one of my teammates to go to then me, because I'm already I'm already committed. And Terry called me up and was like do you have a problem with that? No, I'd rather have a kid get that chance to showcase himself. Whoever Pick Ryan Brow on their team, I'm sorry, you just lost your defenseman because someone else is going to be coming in. But when Terry made that phone call is like, you know, that's awesome, like the kid, the kid gets it right, because that's why we're here. We're here to help these kids get to the next level. And he's basically saying, like I'm there, like I...

...already have my decision, so why don't one of my teammates that's in the same position as me as an Ahlt like gets the chance to make that same decision? So I don't know who has replacement will be yet, but I thought that was awesome. Yeah, and actually it was a weekend of selfless moves for guys all cross the HL. That happened with Kimball, the guy you picked meal was going down, cruising down the ice with the empty net and he decided up here go Austin, pick he was going for the hat trick and then no one picked him last week. That would have gotten some that would have been crazy, right for going for the hat trick and no, no, no, I'm just gonna pass it and knock at the Hattie. But he said that his boys awesome pick and want to pick him up and give him a goal. So selfless acts all around the HL and you love to see it. He was like, you know, what I know Neil's going to pick me next week. I'm going to save that goal for next week. Exactly what he was saying to himself. Actually. Okay, so did you say? That's you, Laurn, in the Internet next time. So this past Tuesday night we had our allstar draft with the eight coaches that will be participating in the event. So just the recap, we paired each of us up with somebody. So for the north coaches, who are Tim cwins and Brett Trider, it's anthony with them and that was team gray. For the East coaches, which is cory for leady and ry McGrath, that's team blew with Jeff we know know Jeff is a big East Division Guy. And then for the central division coaches, Sean Bretony and Stephen Brown, that was lauren helping them with the draft. That's team read. And then for the south coaches, Josh Fusco and Terry Watt, that was me helping out team white. The draft was awesome. I thought it I thought it would better than I thought it would have. It was highly entertaining at moments right. I think those guys had a good time throughout and it's going to be interesting to see how this event plays out, because I'll get your opinions too. But I think all four teams are pretty even. Would you have to agree? Yeah, I mean, I actually didn't really get a huge chance to. I know you sent over the emails. Just busy yesterday, you when you sent over the roster, but I will honestly say I haven't really got a chance to look at everybody's team yet. But it felt like me, each of us six, see it all stars. So I mean how you're picking from the best, right. So that's what we're joking about. The only line is some of these guys stink guys. They're picked for reasons. So and it felt like a gas team had players tabbed that got selected before they got to them right. So to me that would say that then that eat. The balance is there, right there, and the research was there also. I have to make one comment. Team red is still on the clock. You know any of many a compen as Brown. He did some serious research and I had called him ahead of time before those like the before the zoom call, and we were chatting and he was filling me and sending me over what his notes and stuff, and he was going at it, but he was taken our inside it as well. I had a bit of a celebrity guest helper with us. We had Miss Mary Murby helped on us out and he was taken. He was taking our advice. We actually changed his mind on one of the players. He had him ranked a little lower than we thought he should be, and then when I filled him in on a little bit of staff, I don't think he really picked up on right away. He was like, Oh, okay. He's like maybe we'll give him a look and then when it came down to it, he's like, all right, well, we'll take a reason. He looks pretty good. I was like exactly, if like, I know my stuff. So he was on that call with you guys the whole time, because he was on his air pods. I don't think he said like one word to us on that zoom. He was locked in. They were on the phone the whole time. Yeah, and Steve didn't say that. was like, Oh, all right, they're insider. All right. The Roe was laurence. He made the jokes that he was. He's Ray man over there with all his stats that he had going on. No shock, that's that's Brownie toute. I'm sharing my screen right now that has all the results of the draft, which it's just happened that the tea at team read. Lauren,...

Stephen Brown, Shambertoni and Mari, helping out, picked all four lumberjacks. So everyone's and they know they've a little read their sweaters. They're going to be like whoa Justin has typed into this google sheet the Vermont Lumber Lawrence. Okay with that goes pretty well. Actually could roll to it. I was sleeping. Lauren's cleared the zone. Yeah, I was sleeping on this last night, trying to figure out the structure on how we want the points to come from this event. I think it would be a little bit too much to try and get all the assists in the goals and whatnot and pick specific fantasy players. So I think the points that you earn, your team earns right, because this is a round robin. So if you win a game and regulation, you get three points, if you win a game and overtime or shoot out, you get two points. If you lose a game and overtime or shoot out, you get one point. The points that your team's earned in the round robin standings you will earn in the fantasy standings? Three, two or one per game or Zara, see you know? Or is it well, well, hold on, hold on, hold on, and then and then if you get to the championship game, you get a certain point total and then if you win the championship game, you get a certain point total. What that point total is we can discuss. I don't know if we can go enough points to put Jeff in first place. I don't think we can go that strategy. Darn it. That would be that would be kind of funny, though, if it was to the decimal point too right. Got You up by like pot one. I'll take it. I think I'm thinking something like an additional three points from making it into the championship game and then an additional five points if you win the championship game. And then do we put in the extra sauce on it with maybe individual points from that championship game, and that might be two months. That would be so much fun, though, counting up all these individual that just too much, though. We all it would be like the end of the year. Last year we're doing fantasy with those gigantic lineups and every day sactly every day I spent literally two hours on scheduling and then literally two hours on fantasies and I was like let's getty points, let's get to whatever else I have to work on today after that. But that event obviously is coming up. On the twenty one and twenty two at the ice ten, the four team round robin. Jeff is staying over my house. We're going to have some fun. I told Vickie that last night. It's just like, what do you want to make for dinner? I was like, I don't know. She's like I want him to feel like a lovely like a welcome to guest that our homes. Like yeah, I love you. That's like okay. But before that we do have another week full of games in both the EHL and the EH LP. Are there any games that you guys have circle to watch right away this upcoming weekend? Sounds like Lauren does. For me, it's not a still a game to watch, is more a team to watch. The Vermont lumberjacks will now be under new management. Our lovely friend that we love dearly so much on this podcast. In our fantasy teams, you can Schmidt is moving up, so we will miss him very much. But the lumberjacks will be hopefully in good hands with Brandon Clark. He's there other remaining captain and so far he's looking like a point per game players. Got Fifteen points and fifteen games, so I don't think they have too much to worry about. and talking about some of those fair all star players we have coming up as well, not to tell my own team, but in players like garing on and penry like they're they're pretty solid team. So I don't think the lumberjacks have too much to worry about. Might be a little different with someone like Egan, who was basically running away with this league, leading the team. It might be a little interesting to see how Clark fit fares, but I think being a point per game player so far this season, I think they won't have to too much to worry about. So that'll be interesting to watch. I think what we're jector definitely wanted to keep an eye on. And they play Walpole twice. So that's funny because that was actually who I was going to say is watch out the express they work there. Losing streek and other going to go play three times this week too against the lumberjacks,...

...so let's see how they do. Anthony came to watch hope. He stepped away for a second here. He said play. I was looking at different screen. I came back and I saw his couch. So Jeff and Lauren are both watching the lumberjacks closely. I guess after being put in my place in the power rankings, I'm going to be watching the little fires versus the eighty seven tomorrow afternoon. That's you should I should. Well, the last time they faced each other it was a five to one victor for the little flyers. Were a team that's really kind of taken off here and and watching the sevens play this past weekend. Yeah, the game against a valley was not as good for them as the game against the avalanche, but they played really well in the game against the avalanche and it felt like they're right there about to kind of have one of those games where they just score six or seven and and kind of break through whatever this slump is that they're going through. So because we moved it a little fire, it's all the way up to number three. I will keep a special eye on a little fires and eighty seven tomorrow afternoon and another one tomorrow afternoon real quick, sorry before it he goes. Trailers are playing the chiefs the chests down in Dowington. So we've been one pump in the chiefs a little bit with their not receiving boats this week. But Hey, how you going to do against the railers? There's a game to show US something. We have a couple of their players, so we'll have to keep an eye on that game to watch that game too. And now over day at Man. Let's see, just to build off nels port. Yeah, I do agree with him. They looked really good against the avalanche and and even in that game against the valley junior warriors. Will really set them back with just span a fifty five seconds where they gave up three goals. Outside those fifty five seconds it wasn't as bad, but they they made steps in the right direction in that game against the guess the avalanche. As for teams to watch, obviously I'm going to be keeping an eye on that also with the echo premier. The Sevens and Boston junior rangers are going to have a two games set down at Jersey shore and I think that's another one to watch out for. Will you be on the call for both of those. Hopefully, if I get if I if I start feeling better. I do feel a bit under the weather right now. I'm sure people and can hear that in this podcast. Without a doubt, I feel the Anthony that was me last week and buddy, it's those falls controls. One thing we are all missing, and reference to the PEA. We should start watching out for those peaks that just called up, because the railers have lop here. They just called up a net and the warriors called up I'll St Mac Ward. That man is, like, I kid you not, a human cheat code. Adjustin words referencing him as like the Patrick Kane of our league. He is absolutely a player to watch. I was so excited to see him play on Wednesday, on Monday, excuse me, and he had, I think, two assists in that game. He was just looking so filthy like. I'm so excited to see what that kid can do. He's absolutely earning his keep for that team and I can't miss them to he's got that good blonde lettuce, let us the hangs out of the back of his helmet flying around. Number one play of the week. If you haven't watched it yet, you got to go watch it. Because he does have some pretty sweet hands. So that would do it for this week's podcast. Plenty of games coming up this week. A little over a week and a half away from the first ever. It's just doesn't really the first ever, but the first ever ehl, all star, plastics, so and Joe. All the games to speak.
