Further along, the e cou provides the latest update on the fantasy challenge, which also just in jured a massive shake up in the overall standings. This week's games to watch include much more than just the top to showdown or fire to all of that. We kick off the episode by chatting with Vinnie Petransulo, the head coach at Arcadia University. I'm joy now by Vinnie Petranzulo, the head coach at Arcadia. How's it going, man, that's you bad neal. How are you? I'm doing well. Thanks for coming on the PODCAST now. We talked about this at the Worcester showcase, so let's jump right into it. You got hired at Arcadia it feels like forever go probably for you, back in two thousand and nineteen. Started recruiting basically the following month, October of two thousand and nineteen, and now you're a few weeks away from your first game. Are you guys ready? Yeah, I mean it. Like you said, this has been a long journey for me and both for our women's team as well. You know, two years ago and I got the job in October. It's, you know, like Hey, I'll, I'll, you know, go now and see you can get and you know, it's been a long process. You know, the majority of it, with the exclusion of four months, has been, you know, through the ongoing pandemic. Yeah, added some some complexities to everything where you're building your team for, you know, some majority through the pandemic, and now, you know, we get to get to see how we are and you know, you know, it's awesome to start, you know, practice this week and see and, you know, I really love what we have so far, you know, and it is that we were able to bring in. I really like, you know, the product that will be able to deliver on the ice. And you started to kind of allude to it there. So you started in two thousand and nineteen. Didn't playing the nineteen twenty or two thousand and twenty one season. So I'm going to use a phrase that's kind of a little bit strange. But was it almost a blessing in disguise, because everything that happened? Yeah, I mean you got to you got to make the most most out of every situation. Right thearn some negatives in the positives. So obviously there was some recruiting challenges, but I, you know, try to spend those the you know, in a positive manner. I just think the biggest, the biggest thing. The biggest thing is that I got so much time to build this program, you know, to do it within a year it's time frame during the pandemic, you would be a lot harder than what the you know, the time they gave me. So I was able to really year one, you know, really identify the guys that I wanted to bring in and really making sure that I got the correct guys that I wanted for the program so in that aspect, yes, I do think it was a, you know, a blessing in disguise for me. How many times did you have to answer the question when are you guys starting? Yeah, yeah, yeah, you know, I don't know. It is untypical to have the you know, the amount of lead time, though we have. So everybody thought that we were starting, you know, last year and then even people now are like, Oh, we know you guys are supposed to start last year. You got to be excited for this year, even though you know the plan all along was to start, you know, this season. So yeah, that question has has been answered anytime. So when you say the plan, was that what the flic department kind of approached you with when you first applied for the job? Um,...

...so, I mean actually, the original the original plan was not supposed to be hired until like December, January of that year, but then, after interviewing a lot of the candidates, finding out the majority of the showcases took place in the fall, Yep, and we thought, you know, that's like the parmits. Ought to be best to hire someone early so they can see those initial showcases in two thousand and nineteen. And so that's you know how it, how that played out. I obviously I had to leave can a little bit earlier than planned. Yep, but obviously, with this being the the dream job and the goal, you know, this this calling. So you know I I took it. But the other plan was to have, you know, a year and a half to build a program but you know, ours got extended a little bit and you know, quite honestly, I think, you know, a lot of teams might start this approach. I know Alvernia took the similar approach with their Lee. That's how much they're given coach birth there. So you know, I hope it's a trend. I'm you know, you'd rather have more time than enough time. So yes, and then looking at your schedule coming up, as I mentioned, it's just a few weeks away. You have an exhibition against kings at the end of the month. Two Games against a roar to start your season and then you jump right in the things in the UCHC. How much more extra beneficial is it for you to have a conference at the UC AC to be joining? Yeah, I mean it's awesome to be right away and have, you know, some of these coaches best talent right in your conference. And, like I said, you know, playing UTICA on the road as our first ever conference game is really, really tall task. Obviously the guys are going to know exactly what it's like to play college hockey right the conference is is great. I mean it's a great recruiting tool for us. It's at night in and night out, you know, tell the recruits that we're playing, you know, the best teams out there, with Utica, Stevenson, Wilkes. You know, it's awesome and I think, I think everybody in the conference is gotten a lot better in the past two years. So it's going to be a really, really, really, really tight race this year to see how things are gone. And you know, I've got to do it with a team that's really all freshman. So and we're not overlooking you know, like like you know Aurora out of the Midwest. They're really really good too, and that's going to be really good home opening test for us as well, just to prepare us for, you know, the upcoming year. So and you mentioned the the freshman class that you have coming in, which is basically your team as all freshman, but there's obviously a good core coming from the EHL. A couple that stand out to me or Donnie Feldman and Halen Cookston. When you ended forwards like that to join your program what did it mean to you? Yeah, I mean it was really, really special getting those two players. You know, obviously they they've been proven point producers at that league. You know, speaking with you know about Donnie Feldman, you know, natural born leader, being a captain therefore for New England, and you know everybody raves about him, you know, and also being able to make the Allstar team. That was huge. You know, that was really big us and you know he's looked really good early on this year. And Halen to like, you know, there's a lot of things that I really liked about Halen's game early. You know, he can shoot the puck extremely hard, you know, for not being overly big. He plays big too, and they're huge pieces for us in building this program. You know, another one that I'm really excited out of leave and be Jake Frank can feel yea from the little flyers, you know, like it right now. He's on my top top depair and I guys, I know I love his game. I know he's a little undersized, but I like that undersize offense than that can skate in the park. And when you mentioned all these players, and obviously the whole team that you have is going to be so young, how often do you think you're going to have to mention to them the growing, growing pains that you're going to go through an understand and make them understand that you're going to lose some games early on because the team is so young, right? I mean, you know, I've told them basically like hey, we've got five, six games for you guys to get under...

...your feet and then, you know, I expect you to not be sophomores because we don't have that leadership. Yeah, it's a process and they everybody here is recruited that was recruited here, was bought in in that process of making this program better of gradually, you know, increasing how many wins we get pretre to ultimately competing for that championship and knowing that. You know, yeah, there's going to be growing pains, there's going to be bumps in the road. I mean no one's, you know, collectively with everything. I've got one college hockey game of experience from one transfer. So no one knows what to expect. So, yeah, there's going to be growing pains, but we're going to grow through it together, we're going to learn together and at the end of the day we want to leave this program better than how we, you know, finish started it. And I asked that last question starting with Feldman, but I want to go over to Cookston for a second because he was one of the guys that you committed first. I think Frankville was first and then Cookston. Was it always a plan of years to get a player from a former teammate of yours and Josh Musco? Yeah, yeah, you know, that's re search on your part. I've known Josh for I've known Josh for a long time. Obviously we played together at Finlandu University. So is ultimately a great connection for me and they're relatively close to for me to see them a numerous amount of times, not only at home for them, but on the road to and they play the little flyers, that's forty five, they play the eighty seven s. So yeah, I mean he was one guy that I targeted throughout the summer and they just so happened to land, you know, with Josh. So you know, it was very, very easy transition for me to, you know, have them come up to visit and and start that really immediate communication with him. But you know, the day also took to other guys from Josh to so team Marilyn. We had Michael Kosis, who was there for, you know, the first half of the year, and then Kyle Peters who joined them as well. Yeah, yeah, that's what's great about this league is those connections you make with those coaches and obviously when I'm starting a team from the ground up, I have to rely on those, those connections that I've made, and you know, really good ones, through the EHL so far. Even when coach Fusco was at Wilkes spare before well, I started taking guys at from him. So so let's talk about those connections more because obviously you were at the first showcase talking with all of our teams and it goes back to your time in Canton. How valuable was that experience as an assistant leading up to what you have now, This head coaching role? Yeah, you know, it was great being assistant. I learned under Alex Bok, who is a tremendous head coach, and he really really let me learn and grow as an assistant. He primarily let me handle all of the recruiting, which was, you know, what I really wanted to do and we had a really good system there. You know, he let me go anywhere I wanted. Anything I wanted in the HL was what I want, the target and target early and we are able to know, take two, three guys a year when I was at Canton. Obviously you know that number got multiplied with the amount of guys I hate to bring in this year here for here at Arcadia. Yeah, but that time was great. He really helped me grow into being a head coach. You know, like you know, I'll be honest, there's Times my first year that I wasn't great as an assistant and I I went through some learning curves myself, but he stuck with me and, you know, by the end of my fourth year promoted me to associate head. But that's the time frame when they're not that I left for this job. So he really prepared me to be ready for this year and you know, they're on the schedule this year too. I game. I know it was circled more for me and my guys. Obviously I want to, you know, proved him that I'm ready and, you know, have a little extra, added, added benefit of those games. I was going to ask you about that because I knew it'll be circled, but it did you strategically try and put it when you did so that your guys could be, as you said it, maybe sophomores by that time? Yeah, just so some things worked out. Obviously it's a little bit harder to schedule on when they're, you know, still independent team and we have to work around our conference schedule. So there's not a weeks that aligne. You know, they what...

...he wanted to come down here to play us on the road. I really wanted to have a home opener at home against someone for our first every game to be at home. So it just kind of align like that. But yeah, you know, hopefully our guys have a full semester under the prepared for that second semester. So for one bottle question. Now that you're officially starting and you're on the ice for practice and getting ready to play games soon, which has been a longtime coming, over two seasons coming, how does your recruiting message chains now that you can say yes, we are playing? Yeah, you know, it is. I mean it's always hard to try and recruit someone to something that's not established and as the recruit to someone that you need to show them the your vision, because we haven't played games and sometimes there's a stigma with new programs and not going to be as great as maybe some of those established ones. So, you know, now having everything like having our lock room finished, having a facility to show everybody is huge. Now being able to play games and showcase, you know, that product that we have on ice and that culture that we have is great and, you know, for us, you know, moving forward, I don't have to recruit thirty guys next year. So obviously, you know, just looking for guys that you know can make us better, you know, in every every aspect of the game. So I can kind of be a little bit more picky now, yeah, with that. But yeah, it's a huge added benefit to actually, you know, have that show, show guys what we have to offer in person with games and practices, and it's awesome and it's right to see that you guys are finally able to get started here after everything that's gone on, of course. So I appreciate you coming on the PODCAST. I wish you the best of luck is you get ready to get started here and we'll see you at a showcase again soon. Yeah, thanks, neale. For sure be there and you know, thanks for the opportunities for for let me speak here in our Kadion and thankful for everything that you guys do in the EHL. You know I your showcases are awesome. I think you guys run everything great. You know, there's a reason why you guys have so many commits every year. So awesome. Thank you. Yeah, thanks Neil. Thanks again to Vinnie Petranjel of becoming on the podcast this week the head coach at Arcadia, as we mentioned there throughout the interview with Vinnie. Feels like a long time coming for them finally going to play their first game in after two years of recruiting coming up here at the end of the month. But with that let's bring in the e crew and guys did the first showcase, not just and if we're already getting ready for the next showcase? Were you not entertained? You're not up today for you? All Right, sure, let's blow doors, open up the Rod. Three days. Here we go. It's not as long a showcase. This showcase is not as long, which is nice. Less how many games we had for thousand eight, hundred and forty six around there? Yeah, we ended up with forty four in wooster before I should know the game count's a great question, Jeff. Thank you for asking that question. Shock the sorry put you on the spot. Usually that's like right there, but want to until this next one around a football game. WHO's whose smart idea was that? I mean, if I sneak out on Sunday for a good four hours, no one's going to notice from thirty s thirty deals gone. So so there's twenty eight games. Chef, there's two points I have to bring out before you get into the weekly rundown. Number one, something is happening at this showcase that has never happened in the showcase before. Can you guys guess what it is? And it involves me. You are not calling games, but usually don't call a showcase games. But you're right on the right track. I am calling, I'm calling, I'm calling a game, I'm calling games. One game, they give the showing up. You know, how can we get through the showcase? About your one claw? Hey, know, I already already know what game it is. It's the Saturday two PM game, is it? Yes, how did you know that that was? So? No, no, I know. I can tell you why, because hockey TV contacted me and they wanted me to do four games, all on Saturday, two PM, four PM, six PM, eight PM. The problem is because I travel with the eighty sevens to the showcases and we're probably we're probably going to be arriving in Walpole right around two o'clock. So I told hockey TV that will be better if I don't do that game. So,...

Neil, thank you for taking that slot. You know, if here I am being a smart ass, our soul favor. So if the East Coast Wizards are involved, I'll say yes, it's where I got the wizards and the avalanche game. Oh my, how could that be any more perfect? Team you still call games for? Well, I hope they get to the finals this year, Neal. We yes, all wizards, avalanche, right do that. Yeah, don't. Nobody's there. What's the lover? Jeff? Yeah, just asking, just a reporter asking question. It's all, Anthony. So I'm calling a game and the last time we had a showcase and Walpole, do you remember what happened, Jeff, the Christorella get a showcase loss is now going five and a record. I walked down the the dog, well, the human that came in. Yes, it's bad. Yes, Lauren brought this up. There is a patriots game. Just for everyone knows, the Patriots are playing during the showcase on Sunday. Like, there's going to be traffic. Prepare yourself for that and prepare yourself for a few patriots fans to wander down like that one fan did a few years ago and he fell asleep in the lobby. So I passed him and that was like, we probably should get this taken care of, but what that? Let's get on. Anyone answer? Heber, the came in and took care of him. Yes, let's get for another day. Yeah, let's jump in the week. They run down. It's time for the e cruise weekly run down, and these show weekly run downs brought to you by the junior hockey podcast, your home for junior hockey news, knowledge and nonsense. Check them out at tjh podcastcom. With the recording of this podcast on. We're doing on October thirteen, dropping on the fourteen. Every team in the League now has at least one win and at least one loss as of today, as the riders, gratulations to Brownie and lady down in Connecticut. Well done and Schnod. It's just it continues with I'm blanking a one of this. Now. What do we call the theory? Anthony, the I mean the transitive property? Yes, the treasure property, yes, but it continues. That continues to spin in my head because I just have no idea. Who is who, like like, I know Justin wants to hear this question. Who The hell are the Sea Coast Spartans? Oh they I don't even know. If coach rider can think, maybe tell you who they are. That opening weekend they lose to the avalanche and and sorry, they lose the rangers and over time. Then they lose the avalanche seven nothing. Then they come back and sweep the lumberjacks in the two games set. Then they go to the showcase and get one point in three games and they come out of the showcase and went to backtoback road games against the warriors and wizards. It makes no sense. It makes of those I was on the call for deal. They had no business winning that game. Valley was had their foot on their throats and then valley was up. I think it was one was their biggest lead. Secos wins five three. I had no clue either. was there there in every they're in first nice. They did the same thing that party. Here's the basic thing, too, about what coach rider the boys the last week. Same exact almost same exact score. Right they lose are they won five two against the wizards and it was five three against value and maybe mixed scores, but both games they were down and then they came to the third period of just blew doors and came back and one games. So if they keep that up, and it's going to be a breat's going to have some very gray hairs at an exit here if they can keep winning like that. But then there are my done. There are eight Golda fornial, but as that because of the play in valley to and they do. They feel like they took a bit to wake up in that game, but once they did, it was like, oh shoot, like this game is totally going their way, and it was just that way around it. I agree. Let's write. Larm was at that game that I call her Mary were sitting. The less, I think, the goldenferential. I think the gold differentials because of that one seven. Nothing lost, though, to the avalanche. It's just funny. It's just funny to see a team, and that's in first place, that got one out of six points at the Worcester showcase right...

...and and coming into this showcase they are lined up to play. I just had this a second ago. They're playing on the first day. In the second day they play Vermont again. I'm sure they love to see each other on the first day, and then they play the apple core, which I guess is probably the next team to say. WHO ARE THE NEW YORK Apple Corps? Like? I have no idea too. They've also here. Well, they almost swept the almost swept the SNS last weekend. Well, you could also say the sevens almost swept apple core. Could see that well, because it honestly white both ways. We're both games. It was sort of a Togon war, tug of war. I should say we're in the first game, apple core scored and then the eighty seven scored. Written and repeat and caught. It was Colin Callinan who scored with thirty six seconds to go in regular ation. That was at Jersey shore arena. I was on the call for that one. Then Quia Jersey after last week. What seriously, will get to do it previewing a future segment? The next day the sevens. I want to say how two, three to one lead. Apple Cores scored twice. It's tie. Then I think Apple Courts scored again. Then the eighty seven's tide it and then with two minutes left in regulation, then s went down for A. Court had a five on three power play and Jason Atkin Sein took it across. He scored a shorthanded goal. I may or may not have startled my neighbors with how loudly I yelled watching chrome the very basement I'm recording in right now. Well, it was. It was a wild game, but it woke neighbors. Get well, but it's just there's s a strange team. But you want to talk about go to Frencial again, the apple course. Go to frenials even just zero and there's a therefore, all Ivan one. This want a lot of the two thousand and nine Washington capitals, where they give up a lot of goals. They give up a lot of shots, but they scored. They are a goal scoring machine led by Colin Callinan. Yeah, it's and I know at this point last year, Jeff I probably had put you guys on the spot to make your frozen finals picks like we're throwing. Don't try now. We're throwing darts right now, because it just makes absolutely no sense. Well, let's get into the EHL power rankings because, as I did mention, every team does have a lot must now everything does have a win. Wall Pole went end of this week number one. They lost a game and a shootout this week. Did anyone do enough to jump wall pole for that number one position? Just feel full of tough questions. This week, Marylyn in the same thing, Carolyn. Everyone's great games. Maryland won three games this week. They need protect twice and a little flyers one. So they're now all the way up to nine, into best record in the league. We had them at for last week. Could they do enough to jump from for to one? That was their first time in the power rings. What are we doing? Guess I think that Marilyn reaser. So at least go higher than four, that's for sure. Mariland is like they they are proving to be the team to beat right now, and they're by Mr Graziano one, cliff Graziano's Bard. Yeah, that is great. A shout out today because he is my fantasy pick and he got the overtime winner. Yeah, I mean the Maryland's. Maryland's note into ones once. Rangers are eight in two, wizards are seven and two, Wall Poles six, one and one, and then the team that we had five in our power he's last week just beat wall pole. The railers are five and two. So I mean, can't kick them out, can you? They just beat the number one team. That should move them. I don't going. I don't think anyone did enough outside of the five to get into the five. I agree my theres. The only the team with the next highest point total outside of the five would be the New Jersey Sevens, and I think if they had a perfect week you'd have...

...an argument to say they're yeah, if they'd beat applecord that first game. But no, even as eighty seven s guy, I will say that I don't think they deserve to be in the top five, at least not yet. You know, thinking maybe keep things going now with two straight wins heading into the showcase. So the question with a lot of depth to they five guys at double digit points already. You could Donna Lu we just talked about Grozzi. Ont know about donnally about he said I'm Ove Rosen. You lose, you lose a player like Hale and Cookston and you just become better. which I have to drop that name because I talked to him for a while. Talked about him for a while with Vinnie Petranzralo from Arcadia, because he's going there. I mean, so we're set. We know who our five are. It's Walpole, wizards, Rangers, Maryland railers. The question is, what order do we put them in? And I I would, I would honestly put team marilynd that number one. They get my vote because as we as we just mentioned, they are. They're scoring goals at a tour pace right now, but they also look pretty solid on the back end to were they're not really giving up too many goals there. One exception was when they nearly had that loss against the little flyers where they came back. But I said it last week and I'll say it again, I think the South Division is right up there with the east as the two strongest divisions, because in those two divisions even the last place teams are right around hockey. Five hundred little flyers. They've been in the playoffs many times, many yeah, the little the little flyers are a good team. Don't let the their place in the standings for you. No, no, you're you're right, Anthony. and Maryland's doing it with two goalies right now. It looks like to getting Sullivan and John Weber both play, and so there's a there's a lot of teams in this league right now they have a good goalie problem where they're rotating. You Got Chris Jackson and Nathan Miller rotating each other through and through. You get the wizards with three guys. You get a sense. So you get go over, Maryland, you get worber, you get Sullivan, and all these teams are goalie rich right now. And what the one more thing I'll add, because before the game against the protect junior ducks that I was calling, I was talking to some of the guys on Protec who were who had those two games against Maryland, and I think it was shrits and fatted at Bou Setty. He said that not only they skilled, but it's they're very, very hard team to play against. Their physical they are very good around in the POKYA, they block shots that they do just about everything. I think I have a selfish reason why I want to move Maryland a number one and move the rangers to number two. It's to set up and one versus to match up on Sunday self. Oh, of course I don't hate why not? Why not? I'm mean, wait, the power rankings are all about throwing the plot. Let's throw the plot. Let's do it. Why not? We've been getting asked by a lot of team themselves out of the Power Kings Murber, coach rider coming into the offices. Yeah, you guys not do that again. We just had them as receiving boats one week. Terry, wats going to call us? That would say, please. Yeah, no more receiving boats for us. We'll stay with it's is true? Maybe this is true. So we got two and one rangers to we got to in favor of Maryland one. Anyone else want to Jeff Lauren Lauren thin I'm okay with it. Maryland's popping off. I'm okay with that. I think they're fun team to watch. I think they're jerseys are fun to look at, their players are doing well. They're an all around fun team to watch so far. How about the different? You already a different. I got a numbers. But what if I just say I want Rangers won Maryland too, because, I mean, you got to look at strength, the schedule Right, rangers being the defending Champs, doing it with a lot of different I mean Victor Mals on again. Will get into fantasy later on, but still, when was the last time rich DiCaprio had a team that his defenseman was one of the leading points geters on his team? And he's got the two headed monster of Chris Jackson Nathan Miller. Hey, you...

...know what they say? Defense wins championships. Yes, it does. It does launer so to offensive defenseman like victor head been. DO WE WANT TO GO Rangers one Maryland to does that change Anthony's vote? Oh God, this is I would I would just like to u now start the Callyah. That's all. I wouldn't mind that because I think as long as Maryland goes higher than for considering that they had three consecutive wins, they at least have to move up, whether they go one or whether they go to. That's I'm not really going to debate that, because the junior rangers are also just a terrific team, as he said, with the the two goaltenders and the Bosson. Junior Rangers are definitely again the favors to win the frozen final this year, looking for that freepeat. So I wouldn't mind putting them at one. You Convinced Be Jeff. Let's go rangers one. I mean long if you can move from four and one. How I number now what has happened? I know it's it's just the these are the power things and in a year like this we have no idea where we're doing. So yeah, clearly we're putting dad are back at the top. Why are we doing that? They had a date with what Amady said. As far as moving bjr or moving Maryland into the top three, I just don't know if you can jump them to one from four. I think they go to and then we show everything else. Rangers, Maryland Express, and I've thought for you the express at three. Express only lost one game in a shootout. Yeah. Do they do enough, like we're saying here, to move out of the top five? Know. And do they do enough to lose out of the top three? No, they say. By think almostas three. They beat the avalanche on Friday, they beat the the wolves on Saturday and they lost to the railers today in a shootout, which makes the season series with the railers one and one. Rangers won Maryland to a Wallpole three. Finally, Answer Alex Hmm, railers for wizards five. I like that. Yeah, I vote for that. To Lard and, and I'm going to tell you right now, the dark horse team to watch to move back into the top five this week of the avalanche. The avalanche and play against the warriors the day we drop this on the fourteen, and then they play the wizards, the ducks and the Rangers of the showcase. So they have two of their four games or against teams from the top five. That's a tough schedule they go for. Know they have to be in right. I was gonna say we'll we'll see what they are after this week. I mean that's a huge Lipmus test for them, isn't it? A playing those four teams. So it's funny because Chris said to me he goes, I forgot kind of won the showcase was. I probably wouldn't have put it if I want to put that game on Thursday. But Ryan McGrath did not forget when the showcase was because he only has one game at the showcase. The only plays on Monday the warriors. They play. He's getting married on said that's why he like I Chris, Chris, for God, the days are good. Good job by Ryan to remember the dates for first draft and and I give his future wife ass of this weekend all the credit in the world for letting him come back for the game on Monday. A tongue, Chrissy, Chrissy, yes, yes, so we gotta be Chrissy, gonna be after this weekend. She said, I'll allow you to go to the showcase, but for one game. So Ryan put in the request to have just Monday's game. So that's why they're playing and we had it's kind of a weird schedule right if you look at it, because you're like, we have a game in the day that we drop this, but then there's nothing to the weekend, right, and then once the weekend. Answer's nothing for until the following Sunday because we go straight into the all star week. Right. I think once we get to the end of All Star Week I'm finding to be able to take a deep breath again. I've been underwater for about two weeks now. HMM. So we're covering for the worster showcase and then, like you said, incomes another showcase. Back we are. So yes, you sound better, though.

Everyone helped was sounds great and returned to I think we forms. I didn't feel great the immediate twenty four hours afterwards. I think it was just one of us being tired. Like, yeah, like, I love. I Love Waking Up to that text. Are Okay? Yeah, I'm just really tired. Okay, pause, sleeve. Are you okay? At one thirty PM on a Monday? It was not one hundred and thirty. It was not one thirty. This is our it was a couple minutes after one. It was not. Well, okay, I'm rounding up. then. Oh, it's was large Smith first ever showcase. We've done this, all three of us have done this for many years. I mean my first text road different beast. Are you okay? It's Monday and the world has started their week. Are you I that I did. I erased that part of the text. That's why I said, are you just I just want assistant. Are you okay? Like because I was like I remember going back to college at some point I would sleep that way, like I get it, like I don't know how I ever did that. Ben't even do that at college once you start, like I somehow went until I think my like senior year without a DM's and once I started having those, my state schedule was just totally screwed. You couldn't sleep in anymore after that. Well, you got recharged after the show. Yes, it was great refresh recharge. That helps. Yeah, and a four day showcase is your first showcase. That's a bender. That's a long four days. Yeah, it's like Neil said, you literally have to be back at the rink in less than twelve hours. So it's like, Oh my God. Yeah, we basically all just did the boss of Arathon and then sprinted the first like ten miles, like Oh, heart break kills coming. I stick at thirteen miles ago. Oh, you know, if we're talking about poor sleep schedules and just like quick turnarounds, I gotta say. You know, I was all right after the showcase and I think that was because of my time. Is Seaton Hall? No, because I worked at the Club Hockey Team and in College Club hockey you play games at like forty five and thirty start times at night, which is just ridiculous, and then work in those overnight shifts at my radio station, Wsau. So thanks guys. Got Me Ready for the showcase. grinds, you see if he's well trades. Yeah. So just to recap the ehl power I gains that we just came up with. It's Rangers, Maryland, Walpole, railers, wizards. Nobody is receiving votes. We're not doing that to ourselves this week. Definitely, like we said, I think all teams would be found with that because, yea even both has been kind of a Wonky, bad book charm not so charmish for most teams this year. So to the EHLP we go. The railers haven't played since October fives, was just before the last podcast that we had, so they're shut out. Streak is if we're talking just the minutes during the Games, it's over a hundred eighty minutes long. We're talking about all the calendar days since the billers Pete Get up a goal. You got to go all the way back to September thirty. They haven't. They haven't given up a goal yet in this month. So do we have a different administration of that point time? Holy except ever, but they have it two weeks ago. They have two games of the showcase this weekend. Not Every EH LP team is coming to this showcase. Every EHLP team came to the first showcase, the November showcase and the January showcase. There's a small handful coming to this one, in the Newington one, but they are one of the teams that's coming. They're playing the Rangers on Saturday night and the little flyers on Sunday, so those rely two and back. Those are, me too, tough matchups and will keep an eye on their shutout streak as well. But nothing happened, so you can't move them out of that top spot. From there, though, it gets interesting because the HLP continues to fascinate us. I have to say the East division maybe as tough in the P as it is in the E. HMM, very deep. That the express in the bottom spot, but they're third of our very place. Three, two and no they haven't played since the...

...showcase ei there, which is they've only played five games, which is where they won all three of their games. And they're all, I'll say they're all three. Get wading streak with some other lasts. So it's it's tough right. So, since since last week's power rakings, the seahawks are in first place in that division at six, three in one. But they went your woe, they went to one and one. This past week. They were number four in the power kings. Last week the warriors won a game and lost the game. This past week there ain't number two. The Rangers, who year and in, year out, are one of the top contenders in the e h LP, are five and four. So I guess if you want to ask the question in the EHL, who are the Seacoast Spartan two of the Boston junior rangers and the EHLP? Right, that's it's basically the same exact question. Changing the guard team that's dominated the P for years and I look a rookie team. The seahawks are having the run with the and I would have said after the avalanche won two games this past week and they beat the chiefs and they beat the seahawks. I would have said the avalanche have to move back into the P power rakings, but they lost to the warriors today that they were according this podcast, in overtime. So I think, just like the EHL, we're kind of throwing darts again here at the p level and we're going to be changing this thing up again one week from now. Yeah, and I don't think we can because of all those teams, like we said, that we've had in the top four. I don't know if we can shuffle this very much at all. I think we have to stay exactly the same. I think so too. So we said as we go by, like demeriting and meriting teams. If you haven't played and most of the teams haven't, then how can you drop down? And I would keep them the same for sure. So that would keep, as we mentioned already, the railers at one. The warriors is past peak. beat our loss of the Seahawks, but beat the avalanche, so they stay at two. Walpole didn't play, so they stay at three. Seahawks played four times. They want a couple games. They lost the game in regulation and they lost the game in overtimes, so they stay at four. I guess at this level, I would say a couple of teams that are receiving folks because they're right on the outside looking in are the avalanche and eighty seven's. How do you guys feel about that? That sounds about right to me. At the be Urdy Sevens Premiere, you've been played for they played one game this past we again. Right, yeah, they beat the little flyer seven of four. I I don't know if I would say that they deserve the receiving votes. I suy think that the no. No, an honest man. See this why we love it. You are, you're not. The the seven S P team can score goals. It's something that the ehl team still hasn't figured out. But no, it's weird. So the EHL team is really good at goaltending and defense, but they're struggling to scoring goals. The P team can score goals like there's no tomorrow by defense and goaltending. Will you know, for these guys you can say they're getting used to the junior hockey level, where defense is something that they're soul trying to learn. Boy, On't know. You know, I think that will say just avalanche then, because the avalanche had a week where they went two and one, which, if they had gone three and all, maybe they bumped their way in, but they went two hundred and one. So there we go. One team receiving votes, so the for stays the same. What wash out the receiving votes which put little flyers in lumberjacks last week, and make it just the avalanche. So there's your new power rankings, and I like we was, as we say every week, in a week from now, will be changing things up once again, or Willie, but whatever that it goes out of because of speaking of changing things up, Ma surprise you wrought us. Now I'm in the last place and fantasy. So let's get to...

...the eating fantasy challenge. It's time for the e crew fantasy challenge. I'm the ecrew fantasy challenge is presented by BIOS. Do these sports drink of the JOE. Use the Promo Code e show. That's ees how for twenty five percent off when you check out at biostealcom. I'm in the last place by six points because a week like Anthony, we're going to have to have a talk with Jeremy Conner. You know, the eighty seven played three games. He played one it was the game that they lost the apple core and it resulted in negative points for me, so obviously you flip it into a win. I'm probably not in the last place, but I can't spend too much time on my team because I didn't do anything compared to what you guys did. I had josh grunt, solid week, a goal, three assists for nine total fantasy points. Good. I had Dominic Metro, a goal, three assists. One point was on the power play, got me ten points. I just mentioned Jeremy Conner. He was in net for that loss for the sevens against the apple course that resulted in negative one point two points. And then Austin Pickum, a goal and assists and one power play point for six, which, honestly, twenty three point eight points. Isn't about good week. It's that's a better song, not a bad week. It's honestly my second highest week of the four weeks to him. But because all you guys decided that you were just going to go crazy this week, I'm in the last place together. All right, welcome, whoops. So that gives me the chance to pick first, though, and we see how fast this thing can flip. I have to avalanche of my roster this because they are playing four games. As I mentioned, they're playing on Thursday. They we dropped this podcast and they're playing three games at this showcase. So I got Michael Ture, so many up front, Ronan Mobli in goal. I'M gonna go to all. Oh No, no, no, that is Ronan Mobley. We have the showcase. That mob dress her curveball. When he introduced himself, was bobbly and I was like, well, I Christ okay, call moobly. You've been talking. Ever asked the questions rown in Mobley? Never asked the coaches what their pronunciations are. Just had this conversation with Cote Man Jeffer. Thank you, Lauren. Is Ronan Mobley. So Michael Tristone and rode in Lobley. On Defense, Alex Newton from team Maryland. I think he's honestly one of the most underrated defenseman in the league. I don't think enough people are talking about him just yet, and I mean no. They are playing the Rangers, so I need him to come up big and that one. And then I'm gonna go with Kyle Patton as my utility because he had a strong showcase at the worcester showcase, including a couple of short handed goals. So that's Neil from the South Picking Kyle Patton and hopefully general. Hopefully that flips things around for me, because the weeks you guys just had with crazy like Lauren puts up thirty three point eight points, and she finishes, quote Unquote, third for the week because of what Anthony and Jeff did. Brett Hanley got you a goal. Last week. Ryan broke in there. Yes, Ryan Brow got you an assist. What's on on the power play, Jack Bosher want two of the three games that he was in net for. So that's twenty three point eight points, which is exactly what I had. So her goal we got what I my whole team got, which is just ridiculous. And then, F sure, Colbe Walters got you a pair of assists for four points. So what picks do you have for the showcases this week? I double dipped with valley this time, but for my full words I went with Aiden Hash Kiss. He's been quite a fun one to watch. I feel like the ABS. I feel like the Ab Song could talk about enough. I think they're kind of starting to make more of a name for themselves. I think I'm excited to see them continue to do well and Aden Hash kiss has been definitely someone to watch from their team. Defense, I'm picking Dominic Metro. I went to that Valley game that Jeff mentioned with Mari and Donard. Metro's name was mentioned on almost all those...

...goals as Larry scored it or assists. So I was like that's definitely someone to take note of. So I'm picking him this week. And then the largod angry he looks and star Neil has him. Damn it, but it's help and help me at all it did. He got me points, but like not enough. In terms of my goalie, I'm going with Nathaniel Hopkins of the seahawks. I think it'll be fun to kind of put one of their players out there see how they do. I think they're starting to make a little bit of a name for themselves. We've been talking about him quite a bit on the podcast so far. Slow'll be fun. And my second choice from valley comes in my utility spot with Billy Hartnett. He's played in all games and he's gotten eight points so far in any games, so to me that screens consistency and he's use a fun one to watch out there too, because he's a big guy and he's definitely all over the ice and he's a fun one that I'm excited to have on my team. So, starting on Thursday, Lauren has her warriors flag going and I have my avalanche flag going. I am I am calling that game too. It's MOLLMENT. That's my second game I've called all year and then sat the showcase going to be my third. So we're really far behind a normal year for me. That's not the Mike. He said. You want to list, you gotta give me on the broadcast. I'll do some I'll do some color for you guys. There you go, come to again, come to the ELM absolutely. I told you, we work you and Laura, definitely, I will have you on his color and Neil's just try to wrest those pipes for those frozen finals calls. Buddy, those better be crisp with all that rest of those pipes, and just say that. So let's telling stories and I'm ready to throw some chirps out there. So get me on. Well, let's talk about how Anthony and jeff put up over forty nine points each, and Jeff was one safe better than Anthony Way two, point two, point two. I just looked at like so that I was like wait, it be a forty nine put two for like I'm watching you guys put up these points and I'm like what the Hell is going on? Like let's we have to start with Anthony, because he was point two behind him. Barreld in three goals, and two of which for game winners, and assist, one power play point. So this fourteen points. That's over half of what I got just from one guy. Again, Ryan Davies got you three assists, one on the power play, one shorthanded. Nathan Mueler's week was quiet until he had a forty save, forty seven save shut out against the Rangers. He said, Oh, I got so seehouse. I can't Cabat, I guess himself. Yes, the send of the year still here. Thank you, like he's undefeated. Still remember that. Like two wins, one goal against, seventy one saves, one shout out for twenty three point two points. And honestly, Anthony, I got I don't want to say the word Dud, but I guess your dad would be ever Schneider, who didn't get you any fantasy points until the game that you called today, where you got a power play assists, and if he had put together a stronger week for you, who knows where you would have gone. You Go, this has to be. Hitting forty nine points has to be almost like a record for you guys, like we have to start keeping track of that, because that is a ridiculous week, because records are made to be broken. You know that's right, it's exactly, Jeff, we got to do that. So so sorry. All right, Anthony, there's your forty nine point two points. Tell me how you match it this week. Okay, wall first things first, I think I'm just done picking eighty seven's players. Your man has left the building. Good boy, he might be walking to the showcase after that. Yeah, no, I think so, but yes, Spaghetti like that, I will take you the no of because you know what fired. I still think they're a good team, but they've got a lot to prove and a lot of growing to do. So I think that I'm gonna stop being a homer and try to pick other guys around the league, but without further ado, I guess. So you're not a whole this shout we might sis right...

...now. Well, first off, yeah, and just adding insult to injury. After saying that, I'm going to go with the guy who scored the game winning goal against us with thirty six seconds left in regulation, Colin Callman. He's been red hot right now. He just came off a three point game in a loss against the rough riders. He now has seven points in his last three games. He has three points in he's had three point games in three of his last five, so he is just been lighting it all in the EHL. He's an obvious pick for forward on the Red Apple Core Jersey's yeah, defenceman will be tyler and a Sazi from the railers junior hockey club. He has seven points in as many games with the railers. He had two assists in their win against Walpole, so I think he's a great addition to the blue one. He was just miked up to was anyone know? If anyone I just four of those points today, three points. If anyone hasn't watched the railers instagram yet, he was miked up in their game against the seahawks. It's pretty Enisgo. Trevor says that a trevor blackburm production. Yes, Trevor, who don't have a battle of the social media warriors, coming out the Hane with the creativity. Sorry, you keep going, anthony, had this. Had to drop that now. That's fine. For goaltender, I'm going with Jack Bosher from the wool poole express. Damn it, he has made, and they were out of the last five games he's made at least thirty five saves. Yes, he is, and even in the overt or the shootout loss against the railers he still made thirty six saves, nine hundred and twenty three safe percentage. He's been playing really well and their next seem is actually against the evens. All may sevens and picks against the eighty seven. It's like you know what, like around. He did want for team low, so maybe he'll do well for team and to me too. You know, hey, at some point I have to watch out for myself. I got a fantasy guys. And if he unless the eighty seven is off right offs offen Bossuer, for all I know, could have a really good game, but I'm sure touches cured in and holy wait, dispe kill me after Antony. What time does the bus leave on Saturday? Okay, I have no idea. What I know. I would double check that one and make sure you get there whatever time. They tell you that they're an hour ready. You rate, you raise deal's brewster the neighborhood and see who can get up there and get there faster. Yes, and then my utility pick. I'm going back to the railers. I'm going with Mike the MASCOLO. He has points and three out of his last four didn't assists in the game against Walpool. I think that he's due for a really good performance in the showcase coming up and point. Two points ahead of Anthony Plus Jeff. Obviously this saves, the saves being the difference with Jackson Bernard, who again I poured it out for Anthony. If ever Snyder had a few more points, who knows where he would have been. Jackson Bernard had a hundred and twenty seven saves throughout the week, slowly one Jackson, only one game though. So flip maybe the eighty sevens game around, you flip around that rough riders game and Jeff Literally going from the to the bottom till almost the top. But his overall total, as I mentioned, a hundred and twenty seven saves, twelve goals against one game. One that was fifteen points. I'm going to get to count in at the end because it's just stupid. So the best for last year, power play goal for Spencer to win was four points. For Jeff to power play assists for Victor Mal Zahm's other than six points. And then Calinan was just like it was just video game like good, just good. Four goals, three assists, to power play points, one shorthanded point and one game winner for twenty two total points. Like recalling Mr good run. She can do it all. And I think I whole separate debait, separate podcasts. Maybe. WHO's the best s forward...

...in the League right now? Is it Farrell, Din Colin Calinan like, and I'm not mentioning ten others that could be in there too right but Calina, Joe's white here and on Colenda may be playing better than anybody else right now. So but, as you did, finish point two points ahead of Anthony and way ahead of me, not too far ahead of Lauren. What are your picks for the showcase? Jeff and Maya just threw in as well, Commissioner Raven, that Spencer Quinn. We just named him the EHL player of the month. And twinny was my quietest guy. He was or quiet as guy. Four points from Mr Hl, fantasy star. Of them are Mr Player of the months. Excuse me, mom and Egan Schmidt on you. Yeah, pop off. When we don't pick. I would say, you know what's gonna Happen this weekend? Aw, he's gonna go in and score, he's gonna get oh yeah, two straight hat tricks. So but onto new weeks. That was a great week, but got to keep it moving forward. Coach Bel checks way. So we're going to start with forward and we got Mr Will Hall Lecky leading the Boston Junior rangers and points so far. Eleven points in ten games for him, for goal, seven assists. Three of those power play apples and he's got a short ended apple in there too. Big Week for him last week, so we're hoping he can continue. On the back end, I'm going with the warriors. Just had the pleasure of calling the warriors verse Spartans Game The other day. That was a heck of a game. Five Free Win for the SPARTANS and come back, but Ryan Davies looked really good and I believe it was anthony that had him last week. He's a point per game player for coach McGrath Right now. Six points and six games, get a lot of power play time to power play assists, and also has a shorthanded assist in there too. So hoping for some more special teams magic from Davies this week. On the in goal we're going to go with Mr Stefan Koul Onik, who's another one of those goalies. I guess it's kind of going under the radar. You know, Chris Jackson, Nathan Miller, Mueller, what are we doing? The reviewler? We're not sure yet. Think it's Miller, but we're going bueler. We're doing both. They will figure that out this weekend so we can all get on the same page. But KOLONIC two, three goals against, three and one. Record has a hundred one saves a hundred nine shots is a percentage and almost thirty. That's pretty darn good. And then finishing things off, I want to stick with the core because I'm about to go buy Collin Coun in Jersey. I call them up and get my was he eighteen, sixteen, twenty seven, twenty twenty seven close. I'M gonna Buy Your Jersey, but you might as well buy Colby Walters. At that point I was closer to his number. That's what was thinking. Okay, well, Nick Webber, come on down. We're nineteen. We know his number and he's got three goals, thirteen assays, sixteen points and nine games for Webber, and half of those points coming on the power player, a little under half. Three goals, three assists on the power play. Big Pims, Guy, to to them. We don't get points to Pims. It's got thirty five of those. But stay on the box, nick, let's keep you on the ice and let's key so's. That's my team. Are Your pick spased off of games that you're calling at the showcase? No, obviously they're not. Okay, okay, I sometimes I hate that. It's like it's too much stress. It's fun, but it's like too much stress in the same time. It can be like so exciting, though at the same time. Right, it can be. It can be. I'll be there Sunday, Monday. I don't no games US Saturday. Yeah, so, Anthony, I got to point out on numerous occasions how you felt point, two points behind Jeff for the week, but I'm not sure if you noticed this. Overall you're in first place. Let's call done. Point Rookies for two bets in the bottom of the stairs put point six points ahead of Lauren. So Anthony is a one all four point six, Lauren is at one hundred and four, Jeff is at ninety nine point four and I am right up the rear at ninety three point four. So the next time I use the IMOG's in any text of any of your guys that I'm like looking down on you be could you just slap me like? I'm I'm I'm done, like I have to just stay quiet. Call I have to just stay quiet and let it all play itself out, because I'm in last place right now and it's after winning last year. It's a little embarrassing, but hey, I'm feeling confident going in the showcase. So, speaking of the showcase,...

I think it's a good time for us to give some games to watch and the what to watch for a segment before we wrap things up. Here's what you watch for this week in the east show what's watch force presented by hockey TV, the official streaming platform for your EHL and EHLP action, to the two thousand and twenty one, two thousand and twenty two season. The game to watch is by game what I'm calling wizards avalanche tracker. Notice not the old's team Merlin versus the Bjr so wizards, avalanche. Wizards do have a win against the avalanche the season. I said earlier. The avalanche had four games this week. Two of us are against teams in the top five, including the wizards. Obviously part of ASS to do with writing Ronan Mobley also. So that's my game to watch. That's got to take a while. The say I better get a rite tomorrow, right. Anyone else? By bolding solvely, are you going with Merril, our apple core rangers? That's your game to watch. WHO's what? Are you gonna BE? No, Awas, team Maryland versus, yes, team Marilyn URSUS rains has to be in there. Number one versus number two has to be in there. There's really no shortage of you. You could go anywhere, spartans, apple cord, a little north, first south of WHO's who? Right that you know that's going to be a good game. That is what that is the WHO are these teams? Game? That's where we're jumping because figure it out. Is Anthony Watching the sevens expresses that your game to watch. Yeah, I mean will be. Eighty seven have two good matchups. They're going up against the wall pole express and then they go up against the Vermont lumberjacks. So I think for Adam hoolie he's going to get a very good idea of what he's seems made of because yes, two really good games coming or teams against all the two other very good teams that are facing Lauren. What do you think, Lauren? Anything involving the warriors? I know I only took two of our players. Okay, I honestly I'm kind of interested to see how the chiefs to because I pulled one of their players, Jack Divine, for an interview after one of their games and I think they might be someone to start keeping an eye on because they've had a little bit of inconsistency. They got their first win out the showcase, which is obviously very exciting, but I I think there's someone to keep an eye on. I think they might be quietly starting to make their way back into more consistent wins. So I think that'll be interesting to see how that plays out moving forward and box that should be. Yeah, that's that's a good see. A paper or team to go up against, since when surprising people lately. And one EHLP game to watch. They mentioned earlier railers with their three plus game shutout street going against the Rangers, which is actually a rematch of their playoffs series from last year, which resulted in the railers knocking off the ranchers going to their first ever trips the frozen finals. So it's a little added motivation on the Bjr side. So obviously, when we were on the bus to all the way dirt bus, the tank, I remember that duode the gmbre walking on. Yeah, I alway was driving the u control so well until I hit the curb. We got to the hotel. Remember that. I didn't hit anything until Jeff and Brindey were like that's a curve, that's a cur that's a curb, but I just hit the curve. But the fires, that's free, let's say. But all the way down I remember rich was we called rich. We were talking. That was railers, Rangers wile. That feels like forever ever again. So yeah, that's a great game to watch, absolutely so not forty four games this week, twenty eight games this week and just for everyone, elm go make their mental note. Next week's podcast is dropping on Wednesday. Obviously we hit the All star break for our college or team to face two colleges. So we want to drop the podcast before those games happen and we play Fitzburg state next Wednesday, Curry College next Friday and Ums Boston next Saturday. So we're going to quickly record the podcast the day after the showcase ends for all of us. So I'll make sure that we...

...set the time for a Tuesday's recording late enough so that we can all get some sleep. I don't know if I'll do I don't know if we'll do anything past one PM. I going to have to make you get up. Are Low in the front half, the front half of that day, but a boarding actually set in a watch to eleven, between ten a m eleven am probably a good pride spot. But again, for everyone that is coming to the showcase this weekend, the date of give yourself extra time is Sunday because there is a patriots team at four hundred and twenty five Sare's about sixtyzero people that packed their way into juet stadiums. So the stadium being two miles up the road from Rodman it's a little bit tough, so make sure you give yourself some extra time for that. But with that, will see you guys, speaking of Wallball.
