As for the second lineup, this group of 23 players highlights individuals who have climbed the ladder up from the EHLP to the EHL. The majority of these players have since advanced further onto NCAA hockey, but there is a small core hitting the ice in the EHL this fall, with hopes that their NCAA Commitments are right around the corner.

As we set the table for the New Year, after assembly a strong set of all time one ups throughout the summer, we're going to put together the very best of the best. This week. The first lineup of the episode features the Best Twenty three players in the eight year history of the EHL. As for the second line up, this group of Twenty three players highlights individuals who have climbed the ladder up from the EH LP to the EHL. The majority of these players have since advanced further onto enca hockey. But there is a small core hit in the ice in the ehl this fall with hopes that their NCA commitments are right around the corner. And with that, let's welcome in Jeff Mills now. And Jeff, it is so hard to believe this is the final episode of the offseason. He we did it. We did it. Just be in your buddy, and then after this, I guess our work it gets. Yes, you can say a little easier. We're gonna have two new voices coming on with Lauren Smith and Anti Apollo, or to new additions. Were excited about that. But Hey, this off season has been pump with you, buddy, and I can't believe we we finally made it. It's funny how the EHL calendar year works because it links this seven months season feels like it's really like nine or ten months because I his how much goes into it and the offseason. You think about it and you're like it's only a couple months long, but really it's like seven months and five months right like like in and by the end of the five months the offseason, you're like, okay, I kind of want to watch hockey again right at the end, at the end of the regular season or the end of the actual hockey season. You're kind of like, I'm gonna take a break here for a moment until this, say, like a playoff start. Then I'm going to watch that for sure, but then there's gonna be a bigger break. So exactly. And that it's weird to doesn't? The five months seem like whip by fast, but it went by slow. Then the seven months goes fast but it goes slow. It's yeah, I mean you know on my on the golf course, it it goes by very slow. Right. It is. How many rounds did you get in this offseason? There but at the recording of this for at sixty three, which means I have to find seven more rounds to tie last year's number. So have you, Roger Barris? Three? Three out in sixty three homers. So we'll see. We'll see. I mean, obviously the focus is about to turn primarily on the hockey season. Come Up. WHAT SHOULD BE? Knock them whatever. Would you can find a hope piece. You got the I'm normal, a normal year. You know, the the the positives that I find is that by this time's lap, by this time last year, we had made countless changes already and we haven't had to make those changes yet this year. Right, right. And actually, even though it's not hockey a sport, I did my first PA event in northeastern last night, new and what a breath of fresh year. We had a packed cabin center for a volleyball match versus bacy. Not Not pretty anything. It's volleyball. But that's just a good sign that people are inching and get back into buildings and watch collegiate sports and junior hockey. So I think we're gonna have some full barns come, I mean a few weeks. Did you see some of the crowds of the first week of college football last week? I got goosebumps. You saw a Virginia tack with the answer Sandman, Wisconsin with jump around, all this odd it's like all right, well, that's does feel normal. So yeah, it'll be normal when we when we get a showcase started as well. Obviously we have a show our first showcase coming up September thirty through October third at a bunch of college coaches already reached out...

...talking about how they're going to be there. So it's like great, see you, then see you muster. We're gonna I'M gonna give you a big hug that first day. We've made a fact. The show kids gonna last the long I'll go than three or four seconds. But well, it's this. Let's get this ehl line up started because, as I mentioned, they're in the intro. This is really the the best of the best and we put together sixteen ehl all time line ups throughout the summer. The two that we didn't with the ducks in the eclipse, obviously only heading into their second year this year. kind of hard to put together an all time blind up for those guys. But we even got teams like sea coast and wooster who have had just two years. But then you look at the original six teams that had eight years of history. So there's been so many good players in the history of the League and and you know, you could start anywhere but this lineup. But for me, when it comes to the best player ever in the history of the League, it's Caden Primo and and remote and obviously place a player and someone says, well, he's a goalie. It's like overall individual, the best player or individual, best individual that we've ever had is Caden Primo, who's, of course in the Montreal Canadian system. I was hoping that Carrie price was going to get picked by the Seattle crack in, which would open the window a little bit for Kaden, but you never know. You never know. Good did the guys. I've said to you before, Carrie price is always, you know, one sneeze away from Britain that hip, one cough away from tearing out his shoulder. He's miles on those tires. So yes, Hayden's ready. He's seen a good decent amount of action, I think, kind of around Swayman's numbers. Is Seen maybe ten games or so, and so he has gotten called in. So he's there. He's on their radar. He played in the two thousand and fifteen sixteen. See reason in the EH shell was both the goalie of the year and the rookie of the year. You know, I'm probably the one of the first to acknowledge that the year after he came in was the first season of the NHL East division. So there may have been a chance if that was one year earlier than we didn't see Caden in our league, but he was only sixteen years old that time and and and talking to him. The following year he headed out to link in the brass to play for the Lincoln Stars, and he kind of said that prior to that, when he was in our league, like I wasn't really ready at sixteen years old to move to Nebraska. It's like, I'm probably not ready right now at thirty years old, like most of us are, but really not. I'd rather be he would. He was, like he said to me. I remember this year was like, I know, I just got my license, like I'm not really ready to move to Nebraska. So it worked out that his first taste of junior hockey was seeing shots from nineteen twenty year olds in the ehl and he was a absolute stud in our league. I think everyone will always remember just how good he was at sixteen years old in the I feel like what the also something that goes on notice to new with is how good he played. Everyone knows his dad, Keith Primo, you know, got of a big deal thin teen, ninety four draft pick of the Detroit Red Wings, I think the rest wings, but yes, they was third overall or Detroit Red Wings. Yeah, but your father loves the efforts. Heels half ruins, half red wings. But yes, that's a lot of pressure when your dad is a big NHL success like he. PREMO was to be able to have him as the head coach. Those two get along and he plays as well as he did. That's yes, that's a huge thing. Yep, and that revolution team was fun to watch. Yeah, and it is brother chases on the team, also chasing it up as university in Nebraska. Almaha. I remember Keith like one of the first things Keith told me was, I know I'm six foot five, I look rather intimidating. I know I fought my brother in an HL game, but I'm a really nice guy. The way, though, it's like, whatever you say, Keith like like I whatever you're saying. I'M NOT gonna do anything to Piss you off, so we'll just keep it like that. So that's our given. I gave a couple of chuckles to it. I told him that I'll forever hate...

...his brother for being part of the worst trait of brutes history. report. You got a couple of winks and smiles. It was like yeah, he made little be cry as a kid. So thanks waiting for remote. But so that's the first of twenty. Three guys, you might as well stick with the goalies, because the other goalie that has stuck out to me over the years, just looking back on the eight years of the list history the League, is Michael Tilford. I know he's not the winningest goalie and League history. That's Brendon Brawley, but TILFORD had forty five wins and I just remember they were the oilers at the time that they are now the rough riders, but Tilford was just like he was the workhorse for multiple years for that team ended up at Nazareth. And I think for our best of the best lineup, if our, if our one is premot and our too is Tilford, I feel pretty good about whoever we're facing, starting with those two guys, I would say so, even the honorable mention guys that we had that we were talking about, you know, an Eggbert, Billy Gerard, like as there was an injury, you need to call one of those guys up, Sam Kinie, Brandon Brawley and saying yeah, it was kind of hard to pict through so and so, say a good selection. So there's your two goalies. So now we're going to get to what will be at least twelve forward sixty and then, as we've had all yearlonger utility. We'll figure it out and we'll get to the utility for the season. Two. Will kind of tease at the end how we're doing the fantasy this year. But I mentioned earlier, you know the definition between player in skater in terms of skating right, skaters that were out there forwards, Edwards, trail. Max For me will always be the best skater that I've ever seen. I know he did not have the most points and league history, but he was the MVP the two thousand and fifteen sixteen season. I just remember a goal where he cut across the high slot, like flip the plot to himself like hip high, knock it back down to his stick and just roofed one and I was like wow, that was pretty special. Like like, and I'm for it's a he was a big kid, but he was kind of like he was six four, two hundred nine. They listened as but I he skated like lighter than a two hundred and nine guy. You know, yes, he's a bang of body, a little bit too and this has nothing to do, nothing to do with the fact that you went to University of Maine, right, nothing to do with the FIA, nothing to do with the fact that he's in the Boston bruins organization and that counters premos in the Kadians an organization. Right. Yeah, yeah, you know, trum mar stuff is at the TALCADO and center. Hey, how are you profits Bruins? Good to see? If not, let's go. But he would. He was so special and honestly he went off to the USA. Tell the same year that caden did that sixteen, seventeen season, played for the Chicago Steel, helped them in a Clark Cup and actually led the team and postseason scoring, which is it. We're going to talk about this in a few players here, but it just goes to show you that the players, if you're good enough, they're going to find you right and you're going to be able to make that jump, climb all the way up to Division One, even though we're a primarily division two, division three league. But trail Max for me will always stand out. I mean maybe that changes in the next couple of years, but I whenever someone asked me who was the best skater I ever saw, it was him. Yeah, no, he stuck out of the Bostonbate its organization, for sure. I think that, you know, being the lot being native, they only had them for one year because he played a lot of hockey in the lot FIA for a while. I feel like they wish they had him for another year, but he said he went on to University of Maine. We're going to put up buckets of points there. Twenty five points season, seventeen points, thirty points, ten points. So the reason the province Bruins at him on their radar. We wish them Lucky's only twenty four. So it was crossed what could be seen Edwards a TD garden suit. Yes, if we're going to have twelve foards, you can't not have have the all time leading scorer in the history of the League, this guy, which is Logan to Scanyoh, who, in total, throughout his ehl time, had a hundred and ninety four career points. And the one that stands out to me wasn't even one that counted. He scored...

...a goal against Salem state that I just remembered to this day. When you're a broadcaster and you have an angle where you can actually see with a puck is about to be shot and it goes in that exact direction, it's just like you know, it's just like a special feel. That's like, Oh, he circled out, and I'm saying it out loud and I could see where he wants to shoot it and then he shoots it in that exact spot and scores and helps us win that game. It's like that one was was pretty damn cool, precision sports porn if you will, trying to keep a family show still. But yeah, no, I know exactly what you're saying when you're on the when you're on the mic and you see something like that. And Yeah, the Scantyo just had point, like pinpoint precision with his shots and is a heck of a skater. And Yeah, a hundred ninety four points. That could be one of those wing Gretzky is marks that they stay in for a little while. You could, it could and he has made to be broken deal. So yes, one, come on in and brace Logan's record. This is very true. And he is now at the year your guy. Yes, he's now at the University of New England. was scooped. was supposed to go to you, Mass Boston, you mass boss, was one of the first schools around, though that actually canceled last season at the time that they did obviously prove that they were probably the smartest ones right, because everyone, I'm in the Ivy League's we're ahead of it. But we're going to talk about more Vermont lumberjacks connections at you and he throughout this episode, so we'll leave it at that. We got two forwards and two goalie so far, Gaden Primo, Michael Tilford, Edwards, tremas and Logan to scanny. Oh, another former MVP in the League was Ritchie McCartney. You want to talk about pure just speed. I remember a short handed goal where he was like, like you can tell on a players about to go buy a guy when they're when they're pretty close, like Oh, he's got to step on that guy. I remember this one being like he doesn't, he's got a huge gap and he just still turn on the jets. This kid was so fast when he was in the League. Advanced on to play at Sunny plass for which, of course, is one of the higher end teams in the Sunny Act. And if that's our first line, trail Max to scanny or Richie McCartney, I feel great. Yeah, that's say we're going to score a lot of goals and not give up that until for back there. So yeah, I think premo Telford, trail marks, a scandio McCartney. Let's let's end right into the Olympics, something they tells back. Yeah, next forward ranked second all time in scoring, behind this scanny Oh is at you mask Boston, because he went there a you before logo was supposed to get there. Is Chris Peters. And wherever he goes he just put up points, including at you mass Boston. He actually began with the New Hampshire junior monarchs in the EHLP, ended up in New England Wolves Ehl, then two full years with the Walpole Express. Overall a hundred and seventy five career points in the EHL, but it's carried right over right two seasons. That U Mass Boston. Eighteen is first year, twenty seven his second year. Just every time he's on the ice he's a threat to score. The two guys that I'd line up with him kind of similar to trail Max in that they each climb the ladder and they have kind of a similar story. Matt Brown and Blake Bride. They both played during the two thousand and sixteen seventeen season and whenever I go on the road to speak a different showcases or whatnot, I always highlight how each of those players probably was good enough to play a level higher when they were in our league but took the time to master where they were at as they climb their way up. Each one of them played in the EHL, then the Nahl, then the USAHL, then Division One. College is like prettywhere I can and they master the level that they were at right. So like Matt Brown, rookie of the year in our league, ended up all the way up at Boston University.

Crazy offseason in the division one, transfer portal. He's at Boston University and now and another he was that you miss. Yes, ended up at umss Lowell, Oh low, that's what yees went to a couple years of bruins development camp. I'm imagining there was some exchange there that said get over to be you, because that day the Bruins like pipeline, if you will. It's pretty it's pretty consistent. I mean looking further than Charlie mcavoy, right, but maybe that's the Grizzli Macavoy. Lots of and it's only to get deeper. Now pandolfo's back at be you. So he leaves the Bruins bench as an assistant, goes back to be you as all the water to be an assistant there. So I would expect the bruise to continue to get a lot of you guys, for sure. So that's where Matt Brown is now. For Blake Bride, he played against Brown and the ehl and the NA and in the USAHL. Like trail Max, Blake Bride won a Clark Cup in the USAH Shell, and I always mess this up. He was with Sioux falls, not sue city. It's like how we had the junior flyers in the little fires the longest time. He was with Sioux Falls, with the Captain Ovis Tou Falls. The stampede won the Clark up and actually ended up good for him. Back close to home, he's at the Air Force Academy now and it's from Colorado. Just one of the best kids ever, also to go along with the fact that he's very talented. So that gives us six forwards so far in six stunts so far, and bright I get to see it. Bentley. He has continued to be a very solid still hasn't put up a ton of points at Air Forcenel, but, as you know, you don't have to be a good hockey player to put up a ton of points. He's noticeable on the ice set all times and we just had Joe Doyle on this year on the podcast, so that's cool to say to yeah, exactly. Next also, we've got six, six players named so far and we've covered basically six different organizations that have been in the league. Everyone knows that I have a wizards connection. On this spot I want to put it I'm not calling their games, though. This year Colin Casey is they broadcaster. I'm actually very excited for this kid because this is going to be sound old and like like a wise fell. He I just see myself and him. I he's trying to break into the industry and I see myself in him. He's kind of taken over the wizards here, so maybe he takes corey, don't he's places your new ehl, new lefi uncle. You. Yes, but yeah, I'll see Colin. Colindon Students Work Holy Cross to so he's got a little he's goes into the college world. So that's awesome. Congrats to him and wizards got a good one and he's gonna go on our games. Yeah, no more, no more edge, sports center for being you. No more platform. But Colin will get to see that platform. Yes, I already did show it to him. I did show it to him. He did. He like it. I told him if you plant both feet and you're really just kind of stay there, you're fine. But you it's obviously an awesome said. You don't get any better than that. You're on top of the bed, so you can get unbelieable color commentary. You can filter in. Yes, you do have to keep your hand on this level for the box because you're over the ice, but you may get hit. I liked it. I enjoyed it. With the wizards, you know, to put both of these players on maybe tough. So maybe we're going to come back to one with the utility, but they've had to really just superior forwards throughout their time. That stand out amongst the rest, and that was during the two thousand and seventeen eighteen season, when Devon Panzeko was named the MVP of our league and Dylan shouette when the rookie of the year. You couldn't go wrong with either one here. But for me. The one that will stand out is shoette, again, like Primo, was playing in the league like at just such a young age and producing it just such a young age that you have to give him just a little tick above not that Panzeko, you know, was a Slouch by any means. While he won the MVP award and then ended up at Sunny Potstam.

I'm sure I'm going to hear about this from him, but we're going to put we're going to put shot on this, on this team ended up moving on to the North American Hockey League, spent a great deal of time with the northeast generals and is now heading off to Long Island University this fall. You're going to join that program, so you're going to see him as well at Bentley ll. You Go, sharks, sharks. You gotta go back to a previous episode to learn about that inside joke. Please do yes, next forward, speaking of kind of veterans again, DJ swanky spent three years in our league and I remember when we put him on the most recent team that got to face the college programs that beat Salem stay. As a touched on earlier, I always try and find the most veteran guys to the captains of that team and just at that time there's no one that stood out more than Dj swankey. He had fifty, a hundred and fifty points in the regular season throughout his time. Whenever you think New England wolves, there's been a ton of good players, yes, but the first one that does pop into my head is DJ and actually is that lit he's out liberty now, which is a club hockey program, but they they're good enough to be at Division One program at times like they were awesome. They are really, really talented. They are they based out of actually Pennsylvania, I want to say, but then it's as high end as you get in club and it just was the perfect fit for him. And you know, again we're going to say this about all twelve forwards that we end up with on this list. He has to be a part of it. He has be without a doubt. So Dj Swanky is on here. The next forward is Alex Odr Beck, who, going back again to that seventeen eighteen season where pans Ekka got named the Most Valuable Player afterbeck went through a shoulder injury that year that, if he didn't miss the time that he did. It may have been him who ended up winning that award. I want to say he finished the year with forty three goals scored, which is an ehl record as well. Ended up going off to Curry College. Just one of those guys that when he's on the ice, he's a threat to score. Yeah, I was right with forty three goals. I was kind of good too. Off The top of my head there for a second and the Penzika tied for the all time leaving. That's see that eight one thousand seven hundred and eighteen season that you're just talking about. That's like, can you believe this? This is how good this hl team is so far. We're on the third line forwards with Schweat Schwenky in Octobeck. Yes, that is the third line. That's the first line. I mean they were else we're about to go fourth line here. And all time game leader in the history of the League. A hundred and fifty two games. That's regular season. I got to figure out what do you when you include post season in there. Dennis Arquepeanko and just talk about trust in the process. Spent two years with Josh Fusco with the Wolkesbury scrant nights followed coach Fusco down to team Maryland. Two years there and you know, has a frozen finals appearance in his resume. Right the hunt over a hundred fifty games played, over a hundred thirty points, head off to king scholars this fall. I wouldn't be surprised if he's a name that you see a lot up up when you see highlights from the UCHC. He was a special player in our league and kind of sticking with that, Steuth, we touched on this team last week with our final team of the week feature in the New Jersey Eighty Sevens, and it's going to feel we're going to feel kind of amissed leaving one of these two forwards off, whether it's Tim to board or Dante Taramani, who are actually going to Lawrence University together. But to board spend all three years at the eighty sevens. I've had...

...an ehl program Tim tw boards been a part of it. Yep. So we kind of have to go we kind of have to lean that way, which which then Dante can say to me, Neil, you just left off a rookie of the year and most valuable player so I don't know. Men. So, like we said, I mean this is tough. This is really, really tough to wear without a twelve guys. I mean you're going to leave guys like a Taramani off the off the board, just like we went back. If we go back to the goalies, we leave off Nolan Eggbert Brandon, probably the alltime ehl leading wins leader, which then just shows goes to show you we're not just going by numbers. You can't. You have to go buy what we saw on the ice, what we saw with how these guys impacted certain organizations and stuff too. Right now, I mean that's that's not all about the numbers. I know everyone's big on stats and stuff, but it is like what did you see? Who played in big time moments and came up and made big time plays? And you know, these guys all all did, and not to say the guys that we leave opt didn't, but and and we are trying to include multiple teams if we can, but also factoring in that that if two players are good enough and he and there's a team that isn't on here, and that is the case also, right. So you know, the final forward that we did have circled is Bryce Whitman, who spent time with the revolution and the little fires. The tough part, I guess you could say, for Whitman, is that he has played in two ehl championship games with two different teams. Unfortunately came away on the losing end twice by goal twice. Right, but they bruce. At least you're not the buffalo bills and go to four street super bowls and lose four street. You know, yes, exactly, but you know, I think I think sports. I think it's almost that like quietly he put up the points that he did right, like it wasn't. It wasn't flashy, with with with snipes here and there, you name that. The quietly he was a hundred and sixty six career points. That was that was my career. Like it, like I said, well, it wasn't one of those guys that blew you away with speed or whatnot. But he's a smooth it's just so smooth and consistent. And that gives us twelve forwards. And I'm going to come back to the utility, but think about some of the guys that we haven't even named here so far. A Joey Savelle, Corey Kennedy and Austin Kelly. I mean the list, the whist goes on and on and on, but that's coal mentions. Yes, that's twelve forwards so far, and that transition us. Transitions us to the D and Our second oilers, rough ridder. I love this kid, one of the best stories we've talked about because of just how steady he is, and that's Alex Wilkinson, who played defense for the rough riders for a few seasons and then ended up at army. I'm gonna pull up the penalty mint stats here because I know we've talked about it before, but like we can talk about it enough, like we really can't talk about it enough. No, it needs to be glorified and mentioned specifically, so I'm glad that we're doing that. So he spent three seasons with the rough riders. They were called the oilers of the time. Twenty thirteen, fourteen, fourteen, fifteen and fifteen sixteen. Yep, and three total seasons. When you add together, ehl, the regular season and the postseason, this is like a joke. Eight, eight, right, eight penalty menage. That's that's for too many hire penalties at three years. In three years, in Nineteen S PUTSMAN and in Nineteen playoff games, he never took penalty. Nope, like, and we've talked on this before, like as a Defenseman, your stick gets caught in some on skates, you hope I'm accident. You hang on a little bit too long on the end boards, like like anything anything. It's the one...

...game where the surface really comes into play your skate. It's a Rut like stuff you really can't control. It doesn't mean you're, you know, a piece of you know what it's. It's yeah, hit's a bad book, Dude. I mean, you think that's why coach Riley was scouting him, and he's a Connecticut and said, you know, I mean even army, here's the discipline, here's the four years that army for the Sayn four pins, twelve PM. It's a big year. Twelve. Follow that up with tow and then none. So in plained it up with that last year. It's like no, sir, no penalties for me this year, coach Riley. So you take three years with the rough riders where he had eight total, three years at army where he had six total. Right in that one sophomore year where he let things get away from him with six total minors. It's it's the twenty one points. So you have six goal fifty two SIS. It's all that one year is almost like six other years combined. Yeah, like it's just astounding to me. And and it's not like he's one of those guys as you just mentioned. Let's let's go off point totals down in the EH shell, thirty five, thirty eight, thirty eight, then at college six twenty one, twenty six, thirteen. So the question that folks may be asking the stufts is, yeah, heat, not a lot of penalties, but he didn't play. Oh No, he lay over game. He played every game and played big minutes every game. And there's a captain in an assistant captain as an oiler. So that's another I mean, and rightfully so. And actually his last year with army he was an assistant captain. You know. So, and that's a team that is coach Riley. You know it's the Army Academy. They teach what's the biggest thing, discipline one structure. That team is the most one of the most discipline structured division one teams. You'll see and Alex Wilkinson was a beaute. I really hope that he will actually a shoutout to Lard Smith. Guess where he's from? Raleigh, North Carolina. Said Katie as land. He's Yes, twenty six to I wonder if somebody would look at him somewhere and that he's got to end up in the ECHL HL somewhere. I would hope if we if we had a ehl fantasy line up where we had to pick one forward, one D and One goalie, and we had trail Max, Alex Wilkinson and Kayden Brie, who I'm ahead three on three with those three who so that's why our first D so far, the Second D I had circled, is Dylan Caribia, who one of the Defenseman of the year award with the walpole express edge trading advanced onto Salvey Regina, who maybe we have to have a team of the week feature on him. Yeah, because we talked a lot of so much this summer, but they obviously went to a frozen for back in the two thousand and seventeen eighteen season with double digit ehl on the I on that roster. So worth talking about with it. Obviously with Caribbia and then, speaking of the frozen for, another player that advanced onto the division three frozen for was Gabe truck crint, who also won a Defenseman of the year award when he was with the little fires. Helped you mass Boston get to their first frozen for. I think it was sixteen seventeen. Actually had like a five assist game when he was there as well. I never actually got to see him when I was in the EHL and he was in the Ahl. We were a year separated, but I definitely saw him when team Ehl took on the U Mass Boston beacons. He he was very noticeable. I'll on the ice. And then, speaking of a little flyers, I think this one's probably one of your favorite and in terms is a great name to say to write, but you can say it then. Zigmund, as we called him, Ziggy rose. Yes, and in terms of the check republic, yes, Europe. Yeah, he's the all time leading scorer for Defenseman in the history of the leak. He was the bobby war of our AHL. It's down the points of this kid put up was just absolutely stupid and we have to get to the EH LP to ehl on appear soon. But I do have to tell the quick story that when we we were at...

...the All Star Week and we had a decent itinerary going as he had a hundred forty points to s everyone knows throughout his career. Hundred, like crazy. One of those was like an eighty something point season, wasn't it? I thought it was set seventy two in the regular season, eight in the postseason. That was finally right. But at the All star week we were doing this tour and this that. Mr Ravin. I'm when, prest, when do we nap the bit tree? Six four two or twenty five pounds? Deal? You know he got to that size. Rest. Yeah, I didn't book in a NAP for us. Is Keysa. Mr Rabbit, hello, maybe that time. You want me be product. and honestly, he had a he had a huge argument for Defenseman of the year honors that year. They ultimately went to Nick's crawls in two thousand and eighteen nineteen. Recent News on Nick's. He actually started his college career at Norwich is now transferring over to Plymouth state. But Nicks was just so dynamic on the back end for the avalanche. One of the best skaters in the league and honestly like so comparable to the final defenseman that we have here that Jeff has mentioned before because he calls me Uncle Neil, and that's cory done, who played for the Vermont Lumberjacks, Anthony Del Tufo, who as a partner of ours to grizzled. I remember a weekend too when they all got there together. was like, Corey Downey is the best skater I've ever been on the ice with, period, and he could fly. He could absolutely very good. He could absolutely fly, and that gives her a good player, very good person to yes, such a great guy right. I remember when we were at Fitchburg state and the team was eating lunch and he sat down at the lunch table with the school president instead of sitting down with our team, bold as he wanted to get to know the president. I was like, okay, okay, if future and politics or law for him, he just going for Congress. He said to me, I already know my team. I say want to get to the people here. It's like okay, well, that's very that's a man that's very wise for the young age. So that's twelve four sixty two goalis and utility there's obviously so many different directions that we can go, whether it's a full war to defenceman the goalie. But for me what stands out is the fact that we haven't even mentioned one of these two brothers that just wanted Division One national championship this fast spring. And I'll be deal and anthony and mark del Gozzo, and it's like we've mentioned other players right that have climbed up from the ehl to the USHL. And and kind of fitting that we are recording this while in Nashville, HM, the organization that signed marked Al got so Gazo. Yeah, I think that we're going to kind of go in that direction that he was. He was again, if you Old Jersey rocket. Yes, if Anthony listens to this, he'll probably, you know, not be happy, but I think he was a little bit better than this brother. For me, what stands out is not the title that they want to you mask, this past spring, but the want the frozen four prior to that that they advanced to. There was one of those plays whereas a Defenseman, your eyes is come through the back of your come through your socket right when the puck kind of discourtes out to you at the perfect speed for a one timer and I remember Boucher grass saying like I think the call was like watch out, watch out, and Dell gossip just stepped into a one timer that like well, I don't even know if the goal we ever saw it. That's it, as he won the game an overtime, I think it was against Denver, and then he like jumped from the ice, like over the boards, into the bench and I was like yeah, that was pretty sweet. I remember posed about like right...

...away. I was like that's the h alumni. Just for everyone knows. Let's say you know Eh Al. I'm right there, so shut up. That's our our our top twenty three. I've mentioned before here that probably next time we won't do these best the best lineups for the following summer. We will because that will be a celebration of our our ten years as a league. So it'll be interesting to see if anybody comes around that we could kind of take someone's spot in this lineup. But forward core of Edwards, trail Max Logan to skinny or Richie McCartney, Chris Peters, Map Brown, blake bride, Dylan Shuet, DJ's twin key, Alex octor, Breck Dennis Arka, Pank Co, Tim to board and Bryce women. Is Just Stout Defensive Unit. Seven guys deep, Alex Wilkinson, Dylan Caribia, Game Truck Man, Zeki Morose, Corey Downey, Nick's Krolis and Mark Del Gazzo, and then the goaltending duo that we started with of Caden Primo and Michael told for that team is chest ridiculous. So Robbie C wagon we go, or a little flyer. See Robbie coming back. He moving on. He is coming back to join the New Jersey eighty seven. The show controversies, leaving little bit there's going to Jersey people, as Robbie you know, like I said, maybe there's somebody that takes a spot there. Let me do these again following the ten season of the League. That will see as we're heading in the year number nine. Then I'll be your number ten. They'll bring these back. So that's a that's a pretty stout twenty three guys, though, and that gets us to the EH L P lineup, which, just to make sure we're very specific here, this is a progression lineup. This's Eh LP to ehl and, as I mentioned, the introduction there's a few players that are going to be on this that had not advanced on to college yet, but we feel are going to be advancing here very soon. There are some players in the history of the EHLP that have played just eh LP, but we want to really highlight those players that have climbed the ladder and we're going to start goalten with goaltenders. You were going to start with forwards because whenever, whenever I think of EH LP to ehl, the first name that far and away stands out for me is Mike McPherson. It will always stand out for me are because he just put up points right like he like. It didn't matter where he was, what level he was at, he just went out there and put up points. Yeah, it's sort of one of the part of one of the more successful premier organizations, I'd say we have. I know that'll cause some controversy with some coaches, but hey, the junior rangers have been to a lot of championship frozen finals weekends and with a few different coaches and yeah, they've done a good job with being on the transition guys from premier to their ehl levels. So time everyone else to step up and that one EH LP season for McPherson a hundred points then and in a couple of years at the EHL put up a hundred and four points. So we still kept that and that's the big thing, right with all these guys, as you produced at the premier level, then you perfected your game a little more when you came up and you still put in a lot of up a lot of points at the big level. So yeah, mcpheerson was one of those guys for sure. And it's funny because the ranges have had these pairings over the years. It was McPherson and Johnny Andrews during those early years of the EH LP and then it became that Johnny nol and drew Colo and Riley Ryan Bailey show right, Johnny Alphabet Baby. So we yet. We definitely had nick Pierson. We don't know about Andrews yet, but we'll walk in both Allen Drew Clo and Bailey Bailey, who I think like to this time. Maybe he's actually better than Allen Drew Colo but kind of was in that shadow behind him during the MVP season where he was just a handful...

...of points behind. But we'll put up just as good of a year, right, right, like that one season now, drew Clo had a hundred and twelve points. Bailey had a hundred, right, like it's like it's it wasn't a bad year, it's just no, doesn't look as good, right. But yeah, I mean twelve more points is twelve more points. But They Bailey was was huge last year for the UHL championship team and I think John Meldrik was pretty big for that team to beam winner in overtime. Not Too bad. And what's funny is like like progression together, and maybe this is why we'll get to Andrews later, but like they're going together to Sunny Fretonia, right, like, like they spent together in the Eh LP, together in the Eh Shel together to college like that is like climb the ladder in unison, right. And I would say that the if you talk to them, they probably have helped each other. Yes, you better right, they don't. They've helped each other compete and practice and games, and I mean the chemistry that they have after playing together for all these years is like unbelievable. So yes, and makes sense go to school have the same success. We wish them walk to the study Freedonia for sure, and you know that rich is so happy right now that already three of the three of the twelve forward or Boston junior rangers. But it shows you they're just one of the teams that has has done it right, has just done it so right with with the EH LP to ehl progression, right, and another one that's done it so right of the Vermont lumberjacks. Right, and two fords that always will stand out to me are Mason e Moff and Andrew Bai Shard. And, as as Jim Mosso always pointed out, like the teams that those players were on didn't get throught their route the benefits of advancing two of frozen finals because they weren't a part of this last year's Ehl team that went to the frozen finals or the EHLP team that did. But they helped set the foundation to get there right and they helped build that culture that they've established in Vermont and and Mason, who's at Manhattanville now, Andrew, who's at Sunny Plattsburg. If those are the five forwards that we start with on this team, that's a that's a really damn good start and the master we have the AHL premieer to hl team play the all time H L team. That would be an interesting matchup to would be interest. That would be interesting, especially when you get to this next for that we have marked down here the first one that has climbed the ladder but has not advanced on to college yet. But I think you can, or early season want to jinx these guys. But we just have a good feeling, yes, in early twenty one, early twenty one, twenty two season prediction of being an MVP candidate. And that's and that's where cards Jalinski's who had eighty seven points in his single season in the EH LP and then had fifty one points this past year. Right. And yet it sounds like it's less, but in twelve games less. Right, we have put up the exact know, let's see the do the quick math. Would he have put up thirty plus more points in total over ten more games? Right, probably not, but it's still the carry over still there for him from the EH LP to the ehl level. And, like I said, he is a player that we're going to be calling and talking about a lot here early on in this upcoming season for sure, and I mean what he did last year to do. We talked about like behind the scenes type things in this episode that people don't see. Is We all know what happened with the COVID season. The wolves were one of those teams that got hit really hard, so they had to start their season stop their season. They went through a lot of injuries. Donny Felban, my Pale and Uhl fantasy, unfortunately got injured. So Jolenski said, the carry a load when he was out. So I mean that was a heck of a season and I'm sure he's welcome to the you know, the pressure of...

...being an MVP potential candidate this year. Sure it's something that coach Ques and coach Trim will talk to about, something that he expects to be up with putting the points that he's put up so far. And he speaking of getting through. What players are they get through last year? Just the quarantine and protocols that he had to endure just to get here, right, as he's a international, yes, national guys from Latfia, it's just I could only yet, you could only ever imagine right, right, and and hats off to him for fighting through with the way they did and sticking with the wolves for the seventh forward, I'll always remember Blake Harlowe, who climbed the ladder in their program and then went on to you mass dartmouth, but another one of those players that laid a great foundation for the program right. So in that two thousand and Seventheen and eighteen season it wasn't the best year for the wolves in ehl history, but they've helped put together. He helped put together that foundation that turn it into what is turned into here over the years and this past season being one of their best seasons in program history and the future that that they hold in that program is a lot because of what guys like Blake Harlow did when he was there. When you look at his ehl p year with the wolves, he had thirty five points and thirty six games, so that's just under a point per game, and then forty six in sixty six at the ehl level, as I mentioned, now at U Mass Dartmouth. And that gives us seven forward so far and for our eight forward, we actually touched them on him last week. So he's in he's and backtoback episodes, back to back all time lineups. Probably doesn't think that Tim the boards. Mr Eighty seven probably thinks that's himself, and that's Jack Lane, because he was a part of the two thousand and thousand, sevent hundred and eighteen inaugural eighty seven team that had chest played at the ehlp level, right, and then spent two seasons with the eighty seven of the ehl level again. Want to talk about foundational pieces help set the table for them to make it to their first frozen finals this past march. So Jacqueline definitely has to be a part of this list. And then we kind of use a big player to all you showed up a lot and frozen finals week and I was a name we both called quite a bit and coach careter and coach Willie talked to us a lot about it, you know, after the game and we're all hanging out and stuff, and he was tough. He was tough to yeah, and we kind of tease this next forward, earlier or ninth forward on this progression lineup, and that's Jordan Buffalo Line, who was always going to Una yea, it was always going to une got. You know, I guess I don't know if you got it. Fortunate because of what took place with cold it but got reunited with a linment of his and Logan to Scanny, oh at you and E and gets those to you continue to put up buckets of points together and gets reunited with his coach this fall as Jim Moss is going to be an assistant at UN so there's your there's your lumberjacks, the University of New England pipeline. If you ehl progression, will do another section on that. H L to UNE. What's funny is Billy Gerard, who played just ehl Rangers. It's also at une and Oh that that core has made it very clear to Gerard that at the two thousand and nineteen twenty playoffs had played themselves out, the longer the loss would have beat the Rangers. As controversy and its billy likes to say he's just out numbered. You know, he steel strongly that he they would have still want so right. That's I know we've talked about it many times the soft season, but that's one season that we really really wish that we could just put in like a video game, simulators, something to see likes what would have happened with...

...those teams exactly for our it's going to lookally it's our fourth line, but these players again, are still there's plenty of talent here. Like we said. Oh, I think Olympics when you come to these teams, Olympics in the same way. Well, it's for guys the fourth line could play the first line anywhere else. So there's there's two. There's two points that really stuck out to me about Mike Meredith throughout his time in the in the league, and the first being that he's playing against his dad in the SUNNIAC. Now his dad coach the stunny for Donia. He plays for Sunny Brockport, but Jeff Meredith and Brian Dickinson are just so close. Dickinson used to work for Meredith at one point. They have Thanksgiving together, I've been told so. Now I don't know if likes and it makes this on the opposite side of thanks of the table, or how that's going to work itself out. I wanted tone in when brockport plays for for Donia this year, that's would be wild watch for sure. For sure it's the Turkey legged thanks given though arm Russell over that thing. But you know, we've talked it. We've talked about it before. It's tough to play for your dad, right, all right, and you have enough trust, though, in a friend of yours to send him to a rival in your college conference that it's just special. And the other thing that pointed out to be about Meredith I'll always remember is cody Campbell is only heading into his third year. Feels like he's been here for ten years. Only heading into his third year with the Walpole Express program, but in his first year is captain for the EHL team was Mike Meredith, and the first thing that he said to meet early on in the year he had never been around a captain quite like Mike Meredith. And it's not like meredith is is a Malin Drucolo who goes out there and every shift he has a shot on goal and a chance to scorel he's a hard nose, grind type of I different type of player, but sure it's. Cody said he would block his shot, a shot with his face like that. He cares that much about the success of the team and that's what sets captain's apart. It truly does so, and I'm sure that's why he's going to go play for Brockport. I mean, like you said, not a big points guy, but that's not always who you want is your captain either. You got to have that fair blend of the Mike Murdison, Johnny Mel drew was. You can't have a hundred point guys is, as you know, some people, as crazy as that might sound. You need the gritty glue guys like Meredith. So intelection for that fourth line left wing. Absolutely, and we get to the center, and or center, I say, if this is the center of the graphic. Yeah, when we had the railers feature Sean Bertoni referred to Joe was I as almost the face of the railers over the first couple of years here. Mr Railer, Mr Railer, fuel. They only had two years. Again, I know that's like they've been around forever to ever. Right, absolutely forever. But if he was on the ehlpt in one year, NHL team the next year, ending off to suffolk this fall and probably the smallest guy on this line up. Yeah, I six, you're five seven, but he was always in a spot to score, like always in a spot to score, and I'll always remember to remember that about him and he's gonna do that at College. To like players doesn't matter what size, they just have that. That's that an act of being in that position at all times, and he's second forward that we're going to wrap up our top twelve with. Here the second guy who's coming up to the EHL this year, and there's also a Great Golfer, Jeff Oh, because we like it, we like I see that oh by way, real quick. Sorry, was at one thirty. So he's smaller than yes, yes, like thirty s Nathan Derby's size. I said. Think Herby's like a hundred and seventy five pounds. Well, that's what you are. Work out on HUR team or bus ecology go the big deal. But Graham Hassen's not much bigger than those guys, but he's going to move up to the EHL ABS this year. Was the MVP in the EHLP this past season...

...and I would say there's big things coming for him when he gets up to that top level with Chris Farella this year and one of those players that I wouldn't be surprised if early on I'm getting a text from Chris Graham's committed to this school. It's going to happen pretty quick for this kid this year and that get and that brings five seventy SIS. Guess he's got five inches on yes up, but not a huge guy. Five one hundred and seventy. A player to going eye on them, player to keep an eye on this year and, I guess, us to our Defensive Corps. And the first player to mention here is the only player, her favorite, the only player in the history of the show the umbrella to to win an award in both the eh LP and the EHL. And Jack Johansen won the Defenseman of the year award with the wolves back in two thousand eighteen nineteen and then one of the Defenseman of the year award with the wizards, his pasture, eh LP, then ehl. Is the only player to win in the same award at both levels. It was very impactful, I'ds equally impactful for both teams, wouldn't you say to you? Yeah, I mean helped the eight, Eighteen nineteen wolves win a championship right seven, though the wizards didn't get far last year. I mean he he carried that team for that big half stretch. That got him. It's the playoff picture. Yeah, and the year before they were still alive about to go against the Rangers. Well, well, that north if you will, was avalanche, lumberjack, strangers, wizards. The Wizards probably the team that we weren't talking about the most, that quiet underrated team. And talk about contrasting his size. Jack is all was hot, sighs, not has in size. Was He like six four? So He's a big boy and we're going to see him this fall on the other end of things when he plays Fitchburg state against against Tamhl in October. Another player that were going to seet this fall. It's kind of funny how this players progression took place with it it did, was Jacob Crespo. He actually started eh LP with the wall pole express then spent the better part of two seasons in the North American Hockey League. So what eh LP to Nahl has the first goal in the history of the main Nord deeks program on his resume and city made the main Nord deeks and he was another guy that we talked a lot about in the frozen finals this year. To he was not a hundred percent healthy and he you know it out, but he got it out and helped the eighty seven really make the runn they did, and that was his first I actually actually spent some time at the WAALPOLE EHL team, but they but the EA sunds was his real first true time in the Eh Shell and now as heading off to curry this fall. So we'll see Jack on on the Wednesday of All Star Week and then we'll see Jacob on the Friday of All Star Week. That's it's great. It's awesome to say that, though, is that it's, like I said, that's what this league is about. It's about the progression going from like this ehl premiere to ehl and then eventually commitments. That's a big thing. And see these guys were on to dynamite programs like Curry College. They got Peter Roundy now over there with curry getting in his first season. It's just it's awesome to see, awesome talking about. And the next D that I have mentioned are speaking of commitments. I know that and in talking to rich over the years, one of the ones that he was so proud of was Damian Dang legger. A great name. It's a great doesn't sad doesn't sound the way it looks. No, no, got it. The number of pronunciations. I think I heard of this kid's name over theres Geiger Yogur Oh, yeah, but spent time...

...in the EHLP level with the Rangers then. The EHL level now is that western New England. But just so steady, always in the right position, just always in the right position. That's what you wanted of a good defenseman. Steady, right position, little when you low hockey games, which shifts us back to the defensive piece. To go with Jack Lane from the eighty seven. That's Trevor Sere. They kind of followed the same timeline of being a part of the two thousand and seventeen, eighteen eh l p sevens and then working their way up to the EHL team. Trevor Crmboro had one of the best shots when he was in the league when he had a chance to shoot and wind up like it was an absolute bullet and obviously ended up at UMS Dartmouth as well. And that gives us for a D so far and gets us to a pair of guys that I've also seen some frozen finals time throughout their time in the league, the first being nate dunning, who was probably the best player for the little fires during the two thousand and nineteen frozen finals. I just remember every game he brought a different level to it, to his game and scored a few goals. Kind of funny for him. He went eh L P to ehl to NCAA, all in the same building that see now plays as he now plays for Newman University, who also plays out of Ice Work Skating Complex and Aston Pennsylvania. so He's been probably through the doors at asked and more times than anybody else, maybe more than a loop throughout about the last few years there. Oh No, another guy to that gets to see him all through. Has Our friend Tom willims. The little flyers play that play man. He does Newman as well. So that's cool. Braim, you know that name. Don't need to study that one cover it. And then the final D that I had circled here. I mentioned from frozen Finald's experience. It was with that two thousand and Eighteen Nineteen Wolves Eh LP championship team has stuck with the program all the way up to winning the last year's Eh l P defenseman of the year award as moving up to the ehl this year. So that gives us our third player right to go with Ricarde j lnski's and Graham Hassan. This is our third guy moving up to the ehl this year, and that's all. Rico Valentini. Another tough named Jeff Vlad but a player to keep an eye on this year. And maybe maybe he wants to show Jack Johanson that he can also in the D of the year award at both levels. Right. That would form one ERRICO. Let's go buddy, if we went back to back years with that right, which gets us to the gold treasures, and we have two circles so far. We have obviously still have to get to that utility spot. But the first goaltender spent two seasons with the lumberjacks in the EHLP, two seasons in the EHL. Actually kind of have to call it one and a half ehl because he had the he had the chance to join Wentworth in the middle of that two thousand and nineteen twenty season and help Wentworth get all the way to the CCC championship game, help them pull off huge upsets against you and E and curry, where I think he stopped almost a combined a hundred shots, like like stand on your head performances and and just one of the nicest kids ever. Like whenever you know he has a chance to be reaches out to checking in here and there, and it's just like you don't have to do that, but we you know, it's a it's just a great story because we helped the Lee and an especially the lumberjackson coach Mussel, helped him get into the position that he's in today, and that's kind of while we're here, right, right. I'm sure that's why, you know, he still has such a good connection with the to. He knows the work that you know, people like yourself and coach Mosso did for him. So when someone you know extends an arm and welcome to him into a family like that and then helps you, put you on the map. And never forget...

...that if you're if you're a good person, that is there's some not so great people the world that would do the opposite of that. They would not be thankful. Yeah, yeah, you know, but, connor, that's awesome. Could hear the the the second goal that I had circle. We mentioned players that have won award at both levels. How about winning a championship apples? Less to say, only player that's done that t team write. The only player that's won an EH L P title and an Ehl Championship, and that's Mike Pag Luca, who won an EH LP championship with the Boston Junior Rangers and then one and ehl championship with the New Hampshire Avalanche. And going back to what we talked about earlier deal, I think peg Luca probably left the rangers because could probably have. Rangers had too many good goalies and nice system right who many Gerard and Egg Bird? So good problem to have and that it was a great problem for coach Chrissarella coach Mario Martin Yellow, because they were able to pluck them and bring him to New Hampshire because of that. So that what a story, Huh? You know, usually see good goaltenders like him switch after ward of the championship, but that's the case. He grew out of the HLP, wanted to transition to play in the HL and unfortunately it wasn't a spot form up a breakaway, but he found one at the ice dead. So good for him. We get to our utility and I've been thinking about this spot the entire episode and they hit hit me. Who who it is? And in the final step in the progression is not NCAA for this player, but it's Danila Larry onofs help the Rangers when the EH L P championship in the seventeen eighteen season. Put up sixty nine points in forty two games, including the game winning goal against the junior flyers in that two thousand and eighteen eh LP championship. Spent the following year with the Rangers in the EHL, forty three points in forty four games. Spent the following year with the Springfield Junior Blues in the Anahl with twenty three points and forty three games, and then moved on to the Khol Oh professional. For All you that don't know, Europe kg NHL OF YEA of Russia, ended up in the MHL last year as well. Started Kh'll ended up in the MHL. He's playing professional hockey, though, like like what's like trail marks we talked about earlier, you know, like the province birds organization. The KHL is no joke. That's some big names over there exactly that. Wos So played in the Khl's is Larry on. I was playing with babble dat suit, the former Detroit red wing, is a ques like forty five years old and he's still wouldn't tuck question that we have to ask right now. We have to ask. So just to read off the names here so everyone has it. This is the EH LP toehl progression lineup. For it's Mike McPherson, mason emof, Johnny Melton, Drew Colo, Ryan Bailey, Andrew Ba Shard or card Jalinski's Jordan Buffalo and Jack Lane, Blake Harlow, Mike Meredith, Joe was in, Graham Hassan, Defenseman Jack Johanson, Jacob Cress Bow Damien Dangwegger, Trevor C R Nate Dunning, Al Rico Valentini, goalie's Connor Carbo and Mike Peg Luca Utility, if you will. Well, you La, Danila, Larry on offs. A lot of awesome names on that team. For if you're a broadcasting right, absolutely so. Melting pot two from all different parts of the world. O Country Awesome. So you gonna love Occa. Baby, the DIS guys from Canada to Russia, to a lot of you, the Trek Republic to me right, to me got a hand with that one. So that that does it for the offseason and that wraps things up for us with our all time ehl lineup. And are all time eh LP to ehl lineup. The whole crew is getting together...

...for next week's episode. So for the first time we'll welcome in Lauren Smith and Anthony to Polo. Are bringing back fantasy this year. Jeff has a title on his belt, I have a title on my belt. Anthony and Lauren had never played, so they don't have titles on their belt but will each be picking every week. A Ford, a D, a goalie and a utility, that's a surprise for me, which can only be a forwarder D, Not a goalie. And obviously the teams that are are the individuals that are trailing will be picking first. So we'll let Lauren and Anthony Pick first and then the veterans of the group, I guess, myself and Jeff will pick next. But we love how popular the fantasy has become with with both the players and the parents. Honestly, over the over the history of the podcast, right coaches using it as motivation will leave those sources on. They we've been told, buzzert ones that they use as motivation of practice with the players are playing up so well. Exactly. So that will be episode eighty nine, which coming out next Thursday the sixteen. The season starts on Friday seventeen. It is crazy that the offseason is over. Jeff, it's Ober, buddy, time get to work, time to get to work. It's not about the clubs in the garage. All right, I'll thought to you next week. Sounds good. You'll see them, buddy.
