My name is Neil Raven and this episode number sixty six of thee show and the first team of the week feature of the two thousand andtwenty one offseason. We begin the no hockey time period with our new championsin the EHL, the Boston junior rangers. For Rich DiCaprio, it still hasn'tfully set in for him quite yet, but he also has his sites alreadyset on titled Number Two. The e crew comes together at the endof this week's episode to put together the all time rangers line up through eightseasons in the League, joined now by rich DiCaprio, the head coach andgeneral manager of the Boston Junior Rangers. Has It going rich? Going well? How are you doing? I'm doing red got up, caught up onsleep finally, while you're how about yourself? Yeah, I know, it's feellike I still haven't had a minute the breathe, but slowly getting backto it. Has It hits you yet that you won the championship? Ithas, you know. Obviously it's an unbelievable accomplishments for the guys and thefunny thing is, as I think I mentioned it before, I still feela little I don't know, I feel like we need to do it againfor me to really kind of catch up with with our our granite state rivalnorth of us, and I feel like I still I'm not there yet.Of course, riches referring to the new New Hampshire Avalanche, who have twotitles, a team that they beat in the championship game. Something that I'vesaid a lot about this year's championship is it really felt like two years combinedtogether because of the way that last season got canceled. Obviously, last seasonyou guys were the regular season champions. You had fifteen kids move on tocollege. That's a lot of guys to replace. When did you realize thisseason that you had a special group? Well, honestly, I kind ofknew we were going to have something special just with the guys that were comingback from from last year's team, with with the Zoll and Young Shave andJack Moore and Rod and Tommy, and it just the guys that were returning, Johnny moving up, Bailey Mac and just a good core of of returningguys that we're in our organization that you know, both because both of ourteams last year you in our premier team. They won their regular season championship. So those guys that moved out understood what it took to get to thatpoint. And so, just knowing the guys that were returning and then someof the players that I had signed early in the offseason, I started saying, I think in July, do and July, that I have a feelingthat this year's team is going to be better than last year's team. Andwhat was it? I don't know. We never you know, they're very, very similar. But but it was a great group of guys and justjust the type of kids that we had, just in terms of personality and andjust being good people, good kids and good teammates was, it was, it was. It was fun to fun to be a part of them. And I've bring that up, of course, because you use the Hashtagall season long for the ninety nine. So I'm not going to list listoff everyone that committed from that team last year, but you know you namedConnor Doherty, will Fisher, Mitch Hate, Andrew Keith, Brent Rickett. Theywere there was a lot of talent that did leave your team. wasthere a player or two on that year's group? Obviously I know you feelcut. You felt confident going into this season, but was there a playeror two from that ninety nine class that you were like, you know what, I'll do like my team, but who's going to take that guy spot? Yeah, like you look at Rickett right. It was up at Norwich. Had Sick do something points and I think he had thirty goals. Hewas a guy that you're like, okay, well, who's gonna who's going tobe our thirty goal scorer this year? Do we have a thirty goal scorerthis year? Guys like black well, Mitchie hate, who just won theUCHC championship with Olmiro yesterday. You know we're we going to have anothermachine, you know, and I don't think we had guys. I meanMitchee and those guys are obviously different, different players, but you know, the depths that we had this year,...

...like we didn't have a forty pointguy on the Blue Line, like like Mitch hate was last year, butwe didn't need it, you know, like we had four lines of forwardsthat all could score goals, so we really didn't have a fourth line,so we didn't need to generate offense from the Blue Line. And we pickedup jake the chance, which, you know, if he played a fullseason with us, he probably would add forty, fifty points, but butyou know, he was our offensive guy and the other defenseman that we hadwere just shut down then and moved to puck well and we're hard to playagainst. But yeah, I mean it was definitely a couple of guys inmy mind, like I mentioned that. How do we replace that? That'skind of where my mind is now. How do we replace, you know, the conner ofissolves and maybe young and shape, those guys that really kindof carried us through the through the playoffs. I mean they're floors and finals. At least that line was was a beast. So you know, wegot guys that are returning that I'm really excited about that again that you know, it's it's going to be good to build around those guys because they livedthrough it, and some guys moving up and the new guys coming in andI'm really excited about so it's a w see. W'll see. And Iwant to get to that top line that you just mentioned. But a namethat you said before. That was Jake Lei chance you have him and heAndrew Pratt who approached you. I want to say it was around November whenthey realize that at Wesley and they were going to meet sophomores. They can'tplay this probably, you know, I guess as a leave. We probablyhope that this never happens again. have to go through a season, yeah, like we did. But when you have two players that won a nestgay championship this season before that are still junior eligible and they approach you aboutcoming to play and stay in shape with your team, how do you evenrespond to that? Well, it was really a no brainer. Both ofthose guys obviously coming off the championships at the collegiate level. That's KAYC andI just knew that the experience to bring into our locker room with those twoplayers was going to be you kind of can't. You can't turn it down. And and Pratt was unbelievable in the locker room, unbelievable on the benchand had him on a really good line, but with Andy Moore and Johnny Maland, you know, those two guys really you know, I thinkit's safe to say without those two guys maybe we don't maybe we don't winthe whole thing, but they definitely definitely play a huge factor and what weaccomplished. And you started think there was a lot of players, a lotof teams, a lot of teams picked up some in college guys. Youknow, it wasn't just us, it was there were a lot of kidsaround that still had eligibility that could ended up on on some teams in ourleague, which was great for the League. Yeah, and I just a chanceis the first and that pops to mind because you go back and youwatch any of the Games in the frozen finals, whenever he has the puckon his stick, I felt like the entire building was watching him. Youknow, every single player on the ice was. Yeah, that guy's gotthe puck again, we need to look out. But then you also mentionedat those frozen finals your top line, which was bizarre and Shafer and young, and every one of those guys wore a letter for you. And Iwant to kind of ask this question based off the whole season, because thiswas such a challenging gear with going almost at sometimes week by week, andfor you guys a particular, you went almost a month back in the middleof September to the middle of October, only having played one game. Howmuch did you lean on your captain's in your leaders to help your group getthrough a year where it felt like the regulations and the restrictions were just constantlychanging? Yeah, it was. Those guys are such good communicators and motivatorsand leading by example that, you know, the team kind of just followed theirlead and we had to make some adjustments where when you know when masswas set down, and you know, we were fortunate that we're only twentyminutes from Nashville Hampshire, so we could skate up there and we practiced upthere for for a couple of weeks and you know, the guys just gelwe didn't have a locker room. So it was hard. I mean itwas you know, I'm not in the lock around the guys all the time. It's kind of the way I approached my teens is kind of handsoff andwhat the leaders kind of take the reins and you know, if I needto get involved, I do, but I never even last year's team,I never really had to get involved. Those guys all understood what the expectationswere and how to stay motivated and being, you know, getting together, offoutside, working out somewhere and just being together. So you know, and everybody understood. Everyone was was in the same boat. It wasn't likeit was just our team. We you...

...know, the message was saying, you know what, like this is the country, this isn't just fussed.Everyone's going through it and and let's let's just keep our keep our focus andyou know, when the when they say we can play, work like sojust keep it going. And that line, it counted for over half of yourgoals in the frozen finals. We mentioned Le Chance. You take thatline, you get a chance and then you put in Andy more out there, and that was your PP one, which I mentioned to you on multipleoccasions since the files ended that that was probably, in my opinion, aslethal a unit as I've seen in my six years in this league. AndI say that because it felt like they always knew where every single one ofthe other four of them would be. How much coaching did you do forthat power play or did you kind of let them just go do it?Well, we gave them. We gave them kind of a blueprint on onwhat we wanted to do in terms of system and kind of let them playwithin that system and and you know, if something's not there, what's optionto? What's option three? And then at one point, probably in January, February, you know, we kind of just let them know they knewwhat the different books would be, but we just let them kind of dotheir thing and we practiced it a lot in practice and we let the unit'skind of go on their own on each end and and we kind of justscape back and forth and watch how they're running it. And you know, when you have guys like Andy Moore and with chance, their IQ's or offthe charts and their skill sets are unbelievable. So those guys, he kind ofjust give them the rains and let them kind of figure it out ontheir own and then, and they did. They worked a lot on their ownand talk to each other, you know, whether it's on the benchor or, you know, off the ice and drawing things up on theirown, and that to speaks the volumes of the type of players that theyare. They're going to be really, really successful whatever they're their next stepis with the with the guys are going to college and then anymore that youhopefully he's making that jump to tier one or tier two next year and withJake going back to Wesley and I think you know, the confidence that hewas able to build playing with us is going to help him tremendously next year. It was and I want to talk about more here for a second, because you had a couple power play chances late in that championship game and itwas quiet in the building when those power of plays began, but when hegot the Puck it felt like you could hear a pin drop almost. Andthen obviously in that last sequence he goes through all of his options finds bizarreyou tie the game. You bring a kid like that in WHO's no tofrom Maine. I'm obviously from Maine as well and I know where, Ithink main high school hockey ranks. Did you ever write envision him being therookie of the year and being just dis talented? I didn't. I remember, you know, I was watching training camp, you know we were havingour this was in September or late August, early September actually, and watching ourscrimmage up top and, you know, watching some guys and I made aphone called for one of my one of my guys that I trust, and I said Hey, what you know? What are your thoughts on this kidthat I had at camp? And he's like yeah, he's not bad. He's like, but I actually I meant to call you. I havea kid who's driving back from Canada and I'm like, Oh, who isit? You know anymore? From Maine and was supposed to play in theBCHL but couldn't get across the border. My first question was, well, what years music? You know too, and right there is like who Michael? Okay, that's young for the EHL, and like I'm like maybe he's ap Guy, and he's like he's legit and I'm like okay, andI trust this guy and he's like you got him, come down. Hecame down for Skate and immediately a coin and I looked at the early holycraplike kids actually pretty good and and he's such a great kid too. Solike it was, it was. We were very fortunate to get him andyeah, watching him was a lot of fun. And after Christmas, Iremember the first two practices when we got back from Christmas break, he wason another level like well, I don't know what he did over break, but it was his game even elevated more and everyone noticed that. The playerswere like what did it? Indeed, do whatever, break, and soit was. He was a lot of fun to watch and a lot offun to coach because he's always asking questions, always wanted you know what, whatcan I do to be better here, and never, never carry himself. If an arrogance or maybe he's just a great kid, like great teammate. Guys. All loved them and he...

...was perfect form. It was aand he even agreed it was the perfect fit for him for his first yearjunior hockey coming out of main high school. Like you said, not fantastic, but you know, who knows what his role would have been if itwas a normal year and he goes to the BC. Is he going toplay those roles of powerfully, kindly killed? You know, maybe not. SoI think this was a great he agreed. stuffings gone for him.But wherever he goes next year, whether it's North American League of the USHL, I know he's got some interest from from teams in both leagues, he'sgoing to do well. Yeah, and and for me, obviously I lovethe for of the year, the MVP awards, the big big awards, but to be the rookie of the year one is always special because it seemslike those guys their tracks are just different. You know, you look at theCaden primas and the Matt Browns have one that a would in the past. And and Andy I have to just wonder in the normal year I've heputs up for fifty six points in forty six games, in ten game winners. If we had closer to a full season. I always just wonder whatkind of numbers would have that kid would have put up in more of afull year. Right. Yeah, and I mean I think he you playa full forty, forty six game regular season and he he's probably going tohave seventy, seventy eight points and the regular season, you know, andhe obviously edge your team in scoring the redular season by one point over anotherforward named Ryan Bailey. And Between Bailey and then the guy who scores yourgame winning goal in the championship game, Johnny Mallen's Rucolo, who were yourone two guys on your EHLP team last season. I know I spoke aboutthis on the on the last podcast, but to see players climb the ladderlike that and make that impact, how does it make you feel about yourprogram so it's great, I mean it's it's what we want and, tobe honest, it's really hard to get players like those guys to buy intothat and it's a credit to them and obviously their parents and their family tounderstand the process. And you know, those two guys last year could haveplayed in our top team and they could have played a you know, athird or fourth fourth line role and, you know, maybe be scratched hereand there, and I don't know if they would have, you know,a lot of power play time with our team last year, but with theP team. You know, those two guys are obviously, you know, elite scorers and they need to play that role. So for them to playon the premier team. That playing powerfulay. They're playing, they're always out there, they're building confidence, they're they're learning the game of junior hockey, because neither of them come from juniors. And you know, they dominated, and I always say it. You know, for it's a premier guy wants toplay in the HL and be a power play guy, you got toput up sixty eighty points. Yep, you know, because your points getcut in half when you if you put up a hundred points in the team, you're going to put up fifty points and if you put up twenty pointsin the premiere you're going to be a ten point guy in the HL.And that's fine, but everyone has a role. So the scorers have toremain scorers, and those two players understood it and they bought in. Andobviously Johnny and Bailey both going to Fredonia together, so they're going to beteammates to six years. Yeah, you know, it's great. It's I'mreally happy for them and it kind of feels like we talked about them somuch as a package deal all the time. So I want to break it upfor a second here, because they each to have their own unique story. So when we look at bilee first, who puts up a hundred points inthe EH L P last season and probably, if John isn't put upa hundred and twelve, probably wins the MVP award and the EH LP.Right, but he's from Alaska. How do you mind? How do youfind a player like that? Again, it was it was kind of funny. It was it was caused Paulino, who was with Walpole at the time. He called me or texting me and he's like hey, there's a kidthat I'm looking at, and he didn't have a team in the Chowder Cupor anything like that, and he's like can you skate with you in theChowder Cup and I'm like yeah, it's fine, and you know, Iknow he was kind of recruiting him, but but he came and skateed withus and he still had a year left of high school in Alaska and heheared me and that in the Cholder Cup and I was like really like himthat with his dad and I said what are your plans? And he saidwell, you know, we're looking. I kind of want to finish mysenior year. We had a really good high school team to a championship andI was like, okay, that's fine. So I knew he wasn't going tobe playing junior's. He ended up staying home. Finishes the senior year. They win the State Championship. He's player of the year in the stateof Alaska. Cos Leaves Walpole. So now, like I now, nowI don't feel bad if I recruit him,...

...cause was the one that was theone that hook me up with them. So we ended up, I say, in touch with with Ryan all year, even when he was ata high school season. I know checked in with him everyone here and thereand he had made it clear that he was coming here and and he understoodit. He needed, you know, the the junior experience and he wasokay with if he has to play premiere or EHL, whatever one, whereverhe fits, he's in. And he didn't even play in the HL gamelast year. You know where you look at, Jim and Johnny Played Six, but the Ryan was there was a great it was great and we hadthis new laughter guys over the years. So when the been a good, good pipe Worne, oh for sure. And then I want to I wantedto break them up because the difference with Johnny that you first noticed right away. Obviously new or kid, but he's also an all one and he's goingto college next season, even though he could possibly come back. How doyou have that conversation? I'm sure you'd love to have them back, buthe wants to go to school and that. Yeah. And Meredith at Forrednia, you know, we talked about Johnny even when he was on the PremierTeam, actually even about Ryan, and you know, Johnny had a greatyear lafter at the peak and you know, obviously unbelievable you're here. He misseda bunch of games with the with the shoulder injury. But you know, I talked to John He's ready to go, you know, like Ithink, mature wise, maturity wise, it's funny because a lot of peopledidn't realize he's an a one and I think he's ready to go. AndI told you, I said, look, like I'm not going to say noif you call me up and say you want to come back, butyou're committed and and you're in, you're and you know he's gonna he's goingto have a great career. He's ready, like he's he's a guy that Ithink is ready and and I always say to the guys, I'm nevergoing to hold the player back. If they want to go to school,if they're a nonage out and have opportunities to go play somewhere that they reallylike, then go. You know so and for Dounia's unbelievable place to goplay college hockey and he's going to have a last and we've spent a lotof time so far in this podcast talking about your fours in your D andI think what sometimes goes unnoticed about the achers is what you've done in goal. And you look back at past years with Nolan egg bird and billy girard, each twinning goalie of the year awards, and then you make it another onethis season in Nathan Miller. Can you first touch on how you foundMiller and let's then talk about how as active a goaltender outside the crease aswe've ever really seen in this step. Yeah, it mean Eathan. Igot him from. I don't want to name drop my sources, but Ihave. I have some guys that send me players, you know, fromthe Midwest and makes from Minnesota and as you can look at my roster,I have a lot of Minnesota guys and you know, they just he camehighly recommended. I know he had. It was kind of touch and gobecause he had made Kansas City's North American league team. Yeah, and youknow, so it was Kry. I was talking about summer and you know, they finally offered a spot. He said he's going to take it.YEA, it goes, and then they ended up folding. So it waskind of all right, here he comes, and I mean he was obviously unbelievablefor us. He's an undersize goalie but but super, super quick, sees the play and just his pop skills are phenomenal and that's one of thethings when I talked to make one of my first conversations, because billy girardwas really good at it too, and that's something that I love as acoach if I can have a goalie that could move the park and play theParkert be confident with it. I mean it's just creates such a different dynamicto your team and being able to break out of your zone and and hewas the best we've ever had at playing the pocket. I'm so, likeyou know, I'll take I'll take that over four goalie that doesn't play thepart, you know. So he was. He was a lot of fun towatch and I was never nervous. You know, a couple a coupletimes in the finals where he was holding onto it and to drag the guy, I was like wait, I don't know if I want to do inthat, but but it works. But he was. He's really confident andhe was huge, huge rust and the numbers are just astounding of what hedid. When he combined regular season plus postseason, he had a twenty eightand three record, a seventy three goals against average, a forty two, say. Presented six shoutouts the five assists. I think that what stands out ofwhat those five assists. There was a two assist game in there.I don't know if that will ever be to touched again by a goaltender.Early they have multiple assistance game and from...

...the way that we've had this podcastsound, obviously you won the ehl title and it was such a special yearfor your team. It felt like you never really hit any snags, ifyou will, but I'm sure in your mind there was a slump at somepoint in the season. When do you think that possibly took place? Ithink right at probably early January, I think you know, you can youcan feel it. You know, you walk into the rink and I thinkjust guys were mentally a little drained with everything. You know, there's theno locker rooms. Now it's bitter cold and guys are getting dressed. Youknow, we can't be in the lobby. So it was they had to battlethrough a lot, just like everybody's right. They had to battle througha lot of mental challenges that on a normal hockey season you don't have todeal with. You can come in and you got your locker room, youget the music going, you're all your showery. You couldn't shower. SoI think it really took a toll on them in January. And we neverlost more than one game in a row. We dropped one, one, afew and then drop the level, and so we never really hit amajor slump, but that was I think that's kind of what it was.And and as we got closer to the playoffs, you know, we startedto realize, hey, like we were still chasing the eighty seven's for aregular season title and we, you know, we had never really set that asour main goal, but it was there and it was like hey, like we can figure out like we might still be able to win the regularseason, so let's just stay with it. Stay with it, and and theywere able to write the ship on their own and and we turned itaround and made a good run a truly special season. Before I let yougo and I bring in the crew, I know last summer, last offseason, with these team of the week features, I basically had you give us yourstarting six, if you could pick an all time starting six that youput out for a frozen finals game with three forwards to D in a goalie. This season we're kind of mixing it up and with every organization I'm goingto find the top twelve forwards, top six D and Top two goalies andmake kind of an all time lineup. And when you look at the Rangers, you're one of the original six teams in the Eh Shel there's only sixorganizations that have been in each of the eight seasons, so you have afew more players to pick from and I know that the e crew and Iare going to have some debates here coming up because there's been so many goodrangers over the year. But if you can give us one or two orthree guys that you've seen since you've been the head coach that you think thatthose guys have to be absolute locks. Who would you say first? Well, I mean I guess I hate these guys. Obviously with the guys thisyear. I mean I look at cards ally, you know, but that'sif I don't want to take all three from this year. But I met, you know, you got I go back to blake bride, WHO's anair force right now, and Mike Robinson, who's who starting goalie at well, that what does he count? Yeah, the age. Yeah, we're hedid play some games in the EH shel so we're going all time andsure, yeah, yeah, make you Robinson. I mean drafted by fansa. You know, he's starting to at UNH. So yeah, thoseare those three guys. And maybe you know on d mich, you hatjust even a three year guy for us and just where said yesterday, oneas a freshman, you SHC championship with Amyra. So there's a lot.I mean there's time. Well, we'll let you jump off and I'll startto debate with them, because it's going to be fun. There's been somany good players over the year. And it did. Like I said toyou on the ice and in the championship celebration, it felt like this titlefor you guys was a long time coming, maybe kind of two years in themaking. So congrats again. Thanks, thanks a lot, a lot offun. You did a great job at the putting that together at thefrozen four. Thank you, guys. Were Great. Thank you. Thanksagain to rich, to Capri offen coming on the PODCAST and kicking off ourteam of the week features here for the offseason. And with that let's bringin the e crew and guys, it's time for our first big debate ofthe offseason as we make the all time Rangers lineup. This is hard. It's going to be exciting, though. I love all these old names. We won't give any away, so we want to keep people here for thefull episode, but really exciting to see, like the beginning of our hl career, names now we're all old bets in here in the eastern Hokey League, you know, and classic rich right, like at the end of the interviewI pointed out, like, who...

...are? Give me just a couplelocks to start. Two, three. I get four, obviously, andand that's how he wants to start the group. That goes the guys thathe's given me so far. Connor Bizal, who wore a see for him thisseason, of course, with the frozen finals. MVP Blake Bride, who played actually in every single tier of USA hockey, played in a hlan a and USA Shell. It's been a good play for air force.I've seen him Aquentley for a few years new and he of course was foundby rich at the CCM showcase, which is something that the ehl attends everyyear out in Denver. So really a true progression that he worked his wayup to air force. I wasn't surprised that rich pointed out Mitch Hate, obviously a three year guy, a four year if the king sawesome. Youknow what this should be? This should be about the lineup and story time, because the last time we had the all star series and we played threecollege teams, obviously Mitch hate was one of the defenseman on that team andhe walks in with a walking boot and I think, my God, Iforgot about that. The entire coaching stats is what is that? Oh it'sI wear it after the Games, but I'm fine on the other and likehe takes my feet. Coach. He was totally fine on the ice,but like off the as we were like is your foot broken? Like there'syour ankle broken, but like we be worried, like that's one of thetoughest kids, but honestly, like one of the nicest kids to Oh myGod, he's the nicest kid and they have the nicest family, like they'rethe best. Yes, yeah, he was a hact of a defenseman. He was one of those guys that I actually had all four of these onmy on my coach DiCaprio lists of glad we we're matching up there rich.Well, it's the fourth guy. He has Mike Robinson in gold to toughone them and like we're going to will get to the goalie last. Let'sget to the goalie last. Let's start. Oh Yeah, let's start filling inthe rest of the flowards. I think we're going to leave bisal andwe're going to leave bride, I think. Then I think we then have tofill in this season's rookie of the year. They heck, yeah,we do. You do. Bring you is gonna throw that a more,a more all days anymore. I think you then have to put in theleading score from the ninety nine group that he had a hims broke it.Yep, right. Nor which is that? Could? I don't know, BestTeam in college hockey and divisionally. Lucky for anyone that knows. WhenI see so that good. I'm not seriously ask a question. It's simplya joke, as we continue to give the legend of ours our language hereon the podcast. All Right, is that good? Is Not Serious?Yes, another climb the ladder type player that I feel like we have toinclude is Mike, Mike mccarson. He was on my list yes, same. So what's fun is like. Who are they? Are these two playersthe same, Mike mcpherrison and Johnny Melon Drew Colo, like they legit tome feel the same. They each one and eh l p MVP award andthen went on and did well in the EHL and now are moving on tocollege. I guess what Malin drew clow has on McPherson is that Malin drewclow has an overtime championship game winner. But but they both want eh LP MVP awards and I if I had to give an edge, I guessyou could say to one Mike was so good, as going to say, like he also he also liked spent some time in the non, in thesee see, so he like, you know, p up a little bitand then he came back member right before the trade deadline at the end ofthat season and he had like twenty six points in ten games at like thevery end when he came back for those like ten games. Like what? And I kind of that big season that Mel drew will probably would have hadif we played the full season. Adan get injured. Sixty four points andforty eight games. That was a sixteen seventeen season. And speaking of alot of points in sugarawky, yes, and speaking of championship game winners andkind of sticking with this ladder, I think we have to include this playerbecause the little Laryanna, what a little gem he is. Yes, helooks billy. Yes, and he had the EH Shel P E game winninggoal in the first ever frozen finals back in two thousand and seventeen eighteen. This is like a history lesson for all. It is actually, yeah, it'sa second the solar comments we just threw the broadcast two weeks ago todo. Last time we had overtime. Was the last time we were herein Philly. Yes, last time the Rangers were here in Philly. Crazyright. So, right there we have six forwards already in bizarre bride more, Rickett, McPherson and Larry onaps. I got one for you. Ifwe stick on the European train, Daniel of Chinnikov, he will God,that's richest favorite person of all. RUSSROOM, the Russian gas like Russian. Ithink he was rushed. He was rushing you. Oh my God,look at his freaking name. Yeah,...

I was. Why? Don't knowwho was Russian? From Czech Republic? Those European guys. He's Russian asheck and he was good. What's souls great about all these things that we'venamed so far? So all Chennis game winners, not a just took thethought of my head. Good, nine game one of Grays, Larry onavsto is obviously a little bit less, but he had plenty of the EHLPright. McPherson was another one game winners. EXPEARSON had seven. We already said. Brett Rickett, he had nine. Andy more this season. It sayseight there, but you got to include two more in the playoffs. So he had ten, like yeah, Andy, this group is ridiculous. So fus. Yeah, so that give our forwards. They had a bucketof forwards. I could have probably put like fifteen to twenty when I wasdoing the research. And so far good, list, I think. Good, less and list. Good Lin. Sticking with I had this kid,I don't know how to say a pretty goods are kid, Eric Thos.Yes, I will try to say the last name. And he went forgame in shrief port after he like left Bjr only to game winners, booon earth. But then he did. He went to the fantoms for aLittle Inn. You show. Yes, and he was Division One. Hehad division one commitments. Ye, I think he had one or two andhe'd played last year at Fairbanks, but then he went back to the homeland. Yes, some lot fee, I think. Once you play, Ithink you played in some level of pro. That doesn't allow him to go backto college now, but a special talent, a special talent. Andthat was from the dating myself. That's my time, my first year, two thousand and fifteen, sixteen. Well, so now we're getting towards the bottomof the back end of our for it's bottom. These guys are goingto be ridiculous. I think Johnny Anders was another one. Right. JohnnyAndrews was another that was kind of like you want to talk about EHL EHLPcomparisons. You have the modern day Malin's Rucolo Bailey with the past. Andrewsand Bick cier serious side of that was kind of the dude, the twodifferent duo that they've had. I do want to go back to this season'steam because we have two forward so far and I feel like we need morefrom that. But then there's so many more for the history to that's whatmade this kind of right but exact. Norby, like yeah, or beup another one and another calish climb the climb the ladder right. Norby andcreelish both climb the ladder for really shell pe to ehl. If we haveto pick a Max of two more or one more from this season here orno, thank you. No, Britt might lean towards younger. Or shaferwas a monster to and especially have to watch the playoffs get up Maryland.Yeah, then you got Mala, drew glow. Don't look at his pointsin Bailey Bailey to yell. I hate it here too many. And Bailey'sgot that other really good story of the progression from the P Yeahl so,like, like we said, that's the biggest thing with this league, right, is getting yourself from the Maul druglow to be potting a hundred points inthe PEA, get to the AHL, score big time points there when achampionship, move on to college. That's the progression we want and then, like you said, to Britney with with other guys that have moved on tothe novel the Cow mells of the world. Right, they use the AHL's kindof like a springboard. They played for the Express and then they moveon and play in the Nahl and then move to college and stuff and playerslike that, which the Rangers, as we've you know, recaps, havea ton of very on offs played last year in Springfield. Yes, yeah, I think he's in the AHL. Now he's in he's playing pro.So, yeah, he was in the thunderbirds. It's yeah. So Ithink that we do have to pick at least one more, like I said, from this year's group. Maybe we'll say to write was our eyes andpoint. Should we do? As I think that I want to food, like I want to include him at least, and Ryan Bailey, and I thinkthat I want to include Nathan young as a three year player right, which gets us down to the final two. I know that leaves off, andlike it's crazy to say leaves off, but it's going to leave off aguy like Joey Shaffer, who played two seasons for this team and isgoing to have a special career. We know he will at Nazareth. Butthen we kind of keep working from there and not as many points for thisguy. But the one thing that I remember constantly about him with a faceoffsand Danny Sorrebella want every reed single draw that he had to win. Andif you want to keep on this progression train, he went I don't evenknow how many seasons he played for the Rangers. Must have been four orfive, because he plays only he's almost every step that you does help.It does help that you know the last...

...name that that kids uncle does ownthe team. Yeah, the same uncle Mike. Right, Uncle Mike, but the kids good and he plays at Wesleyan. So plays it Wesley andlook how many when you pull up is EP, look how many times itsays Boston Junior ragers Radeu. He's brow. He lived in that system. Didthe first one was two thousand three fourteen. Yes, and that's SAAin the met team and the EH LP in the eighteen. You, andthen the EEHL team for a couple of years, for an a for thatand obviously now at Wesleyan. And then that leaves one guy left for us. And we get my list out. What about Connor Doherty? He's anothernight. You just took the name right my head. He when when hehad a chance to shoot, look out like it's shot, get moved, and it was. His shot was as hard as hell. And I saidhe was on the same ricket team. Yes, yeah, twenty team, right, and I kind of mentioned that's a rich like. You know, you lost ricket Doherty. Like how did you replace the replace that? LikeAndy Moore. Right, can cornerbizal again. Hey, look at you took Rickettfrom me. You're posing with Andy Moore for being yes, maybe, maybe, because those are great trips up to me rich. Yes, mygood guys out there. What's great, guys, as we only have finishedthe forwards so far. Now now we have to get to the D andI think D's interesting. We have Mitch hate so far are I think thatthe he's I had another one and the next easiest one you have to sayfrom this season is what Scha is. I think you I didn't have himon my list. I think they're to Eh, if you was so quick. Yes, in a full season, though, I think that he wouldhave been the defensive of the year, like he had, he was thattalented. This you replicate his points of what he did in the short time. What was it? Twenty Games he played? He had like twenty points. Yes, like six goals, seventeen assists, somewhere around. They're crazy, right, and I look back at past seasons to try and remember defenceman. Do you remember this guy and how big? Way To's Damian Dan Gager. Doubt that. I was going dats a flory first, right or okay, we'll get that picture. It said. It says it's just six foot four, right, it says six foot for it felt like it was likethree inches taller than that. He was a Mons Skates man. Yea worry, remember him. He was a monster. Oh, he was back. Okay, so he was fifteen, sixteen. That was your first year. Thatwas my first season. Yeah, I'm trying to find the defenseman thatyou just stamed. What year? Remember Damian Damer in the same team asas McPherson and Grelish. I think sixteen, Seventeen. So this is Damien. He's such a great human. Here's another big kid, big kid leftshot. I remember seeing him a lot during the showcases. There was wereback as to wear a good player. Are we including him? Let's doit, Brittany, you like great, good, pretty. You're the bestwith the PRONUNCIATIONS. I think it was Damnian Dan Wegger. Okay, that'sa Danwiger, not Dan Giger. Just make us sure, just making surewe're right. Judge people heat. It's friend like Ben Wig. I rememberinga tough one on the showcase. We have D so far from three differentyears. I have another one, but I think it was the same yearas Damien, though. I had jared Bernice, or how he's Yep,jared burness. Yes, yeah, one of the toughest kids, I think, ever to play in this league and walk into smaller five hundred and seventy, but he never thought, he never backed down from anything. It's likea Toy Krugish type frame and style. When did you have him? Too. I had him and I have to go. I have to go findthe year from my other one here. I know is his first name startat an end. It does start with an end, and this last thing. It starts with the G W. starts with the G Nick Grin alittle bit. Yes, Oh my God, Dude, get up, you sehshe him and Mitchell won. So I mean totally honest. Without Myra, I'll be totally honest. I remember this kid and I plotted him inmy research as a forward and then, for God, I was like aLady's defense put yes, he put up the one year he had like fortyfive points as a defenceman. Yes, think about the defense when we weretrying to get free hl fantasy. This year there's nobody. Did anyone besidesJacktr Manson put up that kind of I guess Papa petrows to, but Ithink that they were George mid s or so, but obviously not not aforty five. Yeah, like it's that's true too. We didn't and andgreen vaults. Honestly, I've gotta use this motto or phrase a few times. He started with the revolution and sometimes a change of scenery. While itsounds like it's almost a shot towards the previous team. It really isn't.It's just a change of scenery could help. And his game flipped in a waywhen he got to the Rangers and he was he was awesome to watchand obviously, as Brittany just mentioned,...

...there with Mitch hate they just wonthe uchd titles. So we got two kids ransforman and actually there's like abunchet and Jake Russel Liking one. Well, we're fo I was focusing on theRangers kids first. I'm just saying there's some other each shows. Yeah, she'll grid. I've forgot the chiefs about the offseason, Britt so that'sD so far. Now we got got to get to a sixth and Idon't look at it as a shot towards this year's team. I think thatthe d here are good when you look at the lat fallas the leg rows, roderigue and so on, but I don't think they fail our sixth spot. I think our six spot has to go towards more of a point guy. You know, Jeff mentioned points. I'll get look at the year thatMitch hate had when he put out forty one points in forty six games.I got two guys on here that we haven't said. Okay, see,so we play the game that of is neal thinking. When I'm thinking,I de Pat you have to tell me a year so I know what you'retalking about. What year was he? So one of these guys I knowwas back in crap. Was He the fifteen sixteen year? No, hewasn't with floory. No, it was more recent. I'm going to sayeighteen nineteen. Yep, eighteen nineteen. Actually, both guys I have leftwere eighteen nineteen guys. I look at it right now. Are we goingwith the tank Anton, my love. I was thinking Barry, who Iremember more the lumberjacks, and then Tom School. Think I don't think DanBarry can go on this list. No, okay, all right, I thinkyou. Oh, well, two years with the Rangers and then histhird year with the lumberjacks. Yeah, I think. If yeah, hemay be on the lumberjacks all time list. Okay, it's up for debate.Yeah, Tom scold I gold was a solid like he could shoot thelights out, but it was so funny about him. So this is hisfirst year right in the EHL. Zero goals eleven assists. Yea Second YearUg and twenty seven assists right, like he had one of the best shotsin the least. You just didn't it didn't find eyes in the back ofthe net. All power places. He had fought the power place. Yes, second year. I mean look at it like, imagine having a seasonwhere you get a goal and twenty seven assists. That's it. That's aunique year. I sutributed, I think. I do want to go back todart a floory, all right, and obviously the size is what stoodout for me. And Yeah, I mean I mainly it was mainly thesize. The stufff for me, but it was. But that was whatthat was why I remember Dan Barry. He was being he was a bigleft shock to fenceman and he was big. S got we love went worth.Yeah, and he helped wet worth. We touched on it a little bit. The last time that the CCC had a had a conference tournament. They went on that crazy run to the title game against Endicott and floor wasit was a big reason why, and I think that what stands out tome is when you have a guy that's that big at you know the hereit says six foot five, but never going past thirty penny minutes in ayear. That's that shows you what this behavior yeah, so, as youw see, placed as yeah, he plays structure to is a defense whenthat's a good point, neal, because when guys are big like that andthey get out of position, they take a lot of hooking penalties because they'reslow and behind the play. So, yes, Lori wasn't one of thoseguys. So now the hard part, and I think what we're going tostart to do as will cut out the years when we know that there's nota guy there. So you got to cut out twenty four gold tenders?Yes, you got to cut out two thousand and thirteen fourteen, and thiswe have. For that we know of. Yes, we know. We knowof the early Mike Robinson going to pull them all up side by sidefor us here, Billy Gerard, who were sad that we didn't get tosay his name at the frozen finals because we figured he was going to bethere. Yeah, it's crazy, crazy to think they he didn't get achance to play as moment. Yeah, now there's grown wall. It's thirtytwo points, ten goals, twenty two assists for Defenseman of the year. That's is that good? Thinks that good. So I got I got Mike Robinsonpulled up. I have no pay U H now yet no one eggBert pulled up. I have to get Billy Gerard up and then Nathan Miller. They the Miller. Yeah, and when your goal sender of the year, you get yourself baulted into the but only been one year. But it'sbaby reallyba. We love you, carls raids reba. You know he hassome great numbers. Did talk about a diminutive goalie? Holy Heck. Sowhat's funny about? What's funny about this group? Right? And you lookat Miller, you look at Gerard, you look at Eggbert. Everything thatthey have in common is they each one...

...of goalie of the year award.HMM, Robinson Sit Robinson, Wimson didn't. Didn't because the one in primos yearthere was three, fourteen, fifteen. I guess I got to go tothe record books and even see who won that year. But Robinson isthe one that's playing division one at UN h right now and got drafted bythe San Jose Sharks. I want to say Trevor mchou sheet is the onethat won. That sees you went on to play at you to know BuffaloState. So I mean, but here you go and you look at thegoaltend of the year was. Look, look how many times the Rangers nameshows up. One teams crazy and I hadn't even got the chance to mentionit to rich about how it translates over to the EH LP. Right inthe EH l p. he's got Logan Palmer there this season as well, and then Mike Pag Luca from the my fairy first year. Two Thousand andfifteen sixteen. So Luca's raspents. We spend so much time talking about thefords and the D with the Rangers, but they've been so sound and stellarin the back end also in goal, that you almost forget about it ifyou're going based off of pure numbers and when you compare these guys to eachother, I have to say that what Gerard. I have to say thatwhat Miller did this season maybe the best it is. Numbers wise, it'sjust look, like you said, those numbers just kind of and like what'stough is you know rich wants to include Robinson because of where he's at andwhatnot, and and right. And the the one hard part that I haveEz you didn't get a chance to really play that season with the Rangers. He was one of my, want to say three goalies or so that theyhad. This was the two thousand and fourteen fifteen season. Played Eight Games, right, right. So it's like you look at Nolan Egbert. Firsthe won forty three games in this league, Yep, and say percentage round thirty. That's excellent. Nine hundred and twenty six, Billy Gerrard, onehundred and forty two, you know, and Nathan Miller. Those guys usedto it in two years. Right, we're not going to other one twentyone games this show or one hundred and twenty one and then eight more inthe playoffs. So he won twenty eight of thirty one. When you comparethat to forty two of eighty two for Gerard and forty three of ninety forEgbert, and maybe another season of Miller, who isn't Oh one right. Maybeanother season of Miller back next season would help solidify this. But Ithink that he has to be one of the two. I think, likejust he was that good this season. When you when you really look atlook at it, like the six shutouts that he has. Like this isit hit me there day. His six shoutouts already all time ranks seventh inleague history. And one year, one year, though, like running, probably played two seasons and has thirteen. Right. So that's a really goodpoint. And you're in think about less. We have talked about all yearlong. Two Neil this year of all years. Yeah, different because you saw thesame teams. Usually that would be harder to get shut out, togain when you're only playing the same seven teams or six teams, as theRangers did all year, and figure you out. Usually may yet maybe,or maybe you play other teams and your records different. I don't really know, but I think that. And those other goalie had played more games inone year, so they had more chances to get the shout out. Theywe played less games this year and he still did that. Yeah, so, and there was a lot going on this year's we all know. So, yes, little more your head than used most years. So I'm takingout Robinson and I'm sorry, it's no friends to MICO. It isn't.And I'm putting in Miller and then, because, yeah, it comes downthen to this is hard egg Bert or Gerard. You can flip a colonman. Yeah, I literally coined between these two like it's a coin, because egg bird's third all time and wins right time. For the billy hasone less. One less, that's it. One. Oh my God, lookat look at WHO's below billy, Thomas Water and like I think.I think why I'm leaning Gerard is because he, like Thomas Pocoon, eightless games with one last win. But where would he be with eight moregames? Right, and as silently better goes against average, two point threeseven versus two point sixty three. That would point the seven shutouts versus tofor egg burt. And then obviously the same pretendage are really identical. It'snine hundred and twenty eight versus nine hundred and twenty six. And then ifyou look at their games played numbers for...

...those season two new, because thatwas a big thing we talked about last year. It's Rard, right. The kid never sat. He just played every game. He didn't need timeoff. He didn't want time off. Yeah, like it was a horseor a hoss, as weird. You Know Hoss. It's in for eggburt. He got he got tired of that season real well. Remember thatthat was the frozen finals where he played every game in the finals too. It's reasonably so. It's crazy to think that, like it's the total numberof starts right, thirty six and that he had forty one starts. Thathere like it's this crazy. And we set it on the broadcast, Jeff, that like the Rangers hadn't won a game in the frozen finals until thisyear. We're always fuss. They were all and three and then they madeit. Then he went to Owen for in game one and then they wonthree straight. So you could actually technically say that this year's champion is stillbelow five hundred in frozen finals history, like my God, what? Andyou go back on all these names, you see all these guys are playingDNE or summer playing a pros and so it's but I'm going to fill invillage Gerard and just to rip through this list fast so people can hear andagain at home will have the graphic that goes out with it. The forwardunit is Connor Bizal, blake bride, Andy Moore, Brett Rickett, MikeMcPherson, Danila Larry onofs and then Daniel Oh Chitnakov, Eric's, zoahab's,Ryan Bailey, Lathan Nathan Young, Danny Sorrebella and Connor Doherty. Defensive Unitof Mitchell Heye, Jaco late chance, Damian dangleger jared burness, nick grinnValls and Dante floory, Goalie's Nathan Miller and Billy Gerard, and we're goingto it. There will be heat for this because there are guys that gotleft off. The roos know that Joey Shaeffer's you can say I kid namedRyan Tierney who's at Salem state. Obviously the goalies that we didn't include. But to start off our team in the week features with this all time lineup, which, of course it's hard because the rangers are one of justsix organizations that have been in the League for all eight years. For afew of the ones coming up it won't be as hard. You know, you got look at the the sea coast to the railers will have two yearsto choose from and and obviously the guys that have stood out for them overtwo years. But when you try and put trim eight years of players rightdown to this, that down to this, which you're really looking at about fourhundred guys, or so, you know, rosters of twenty, fivedown too, down to twenty. I'm glad that we don't have to makewhat we don't have to make the lines right. I don't even know.My God, don't even know how. Where you'd go? First, liketeam Canada, TMUSA back. We had the NHILLERS in the Olympics. FourthLine. Tree spurge runs on a fourth line. Yeah, well, youget Sydney crosby and Jill Thornton. Is Prime. Sorry, Patree, SportLine is you guys here? They would not be. They would be quotunquote four liners, but would be wagons of elsewhere exactly. So it soundslike I have a package this delivered here door bus something thing. But Hey, great start, guys. I I'll I'll leave this task up to Brittanybecause she'll love it. Who is? Who is next week's team of theweek? Oh, let's get you. Oh, you know what, let'stransition to we the south. PLF. Okay, okay, looks'll do workin the south. will buy it. I will connect all my I'm gonnatry and get cats ron on with a low too. I think now thatbeing busy, special and a guys, if if we had a hard timenarrowing down eight years to this, I have a suggestion that you start lookingback on previous little fires teams, because you want to talk about scorers, rows, you want to talk about yeah, Oh God, no, there's soready and goalies and goalies. So that's going to be a fun one. So I'll get in contact with catstrown and alow. It's the little flyerscoming out next week and another fun debate. All right, we'll see you then.
