On this week's episode we chat with Craig Russell, the head coach at plumous state. Craig is a big supporter of the EHL and this is clearly proven through the panthers commitment numbers since the League was formed back in two thousand and thirteen. Our weekly trip around the lead breaks down the races taking place in each division, as well as for each regular season championship. Last but not least, we provide the latest update on the e crew fantasy challenge, with only six days remaining before postseason play begins, joined now by Craig Russell, the head coach at plumous State University, as a going coach. It's going well. Thanks. Thanks for coming on. I know we talked about this a little while ago, but this season has kind of just been nutty, I'm sure for you as well. Where are things at right now with your program? Right this moment, we played a couple of games. Two weekends ago we had a we had a campus issue with Covid so that shut everything down. We're set to resume practices on Monday, so in four to five days, and everything's good with us. We haven't had any cases. We just it's a campus. A campus deals. The guys actually met up with a couple of the guys outside the rink yesterday and brought all their skates and gloves out and sticks out to him. They're going to go find a lake somewhere and Bo stay together. So there's daying together. They're making the best of it, controlling what we can control. So that's all we can ask them right now. In a quote unquote, normal year, when do you guys usually get things started? Would be the second Monday of October will be the first day of practices. So since then in this current year. How many texts here from your captains or the whole team have you been getting? Coach? When can we start? I mean it's Daily. I mean they just they're looking for anything to latch onto. And Yeah, and it's tough, like we're as a staff, you know, we're having a lot of conversations with administrators and things like that behind the scenes and the guys we in the first semester we had ten practices. There was the government shutdown that shut us down for a couple of weeks and so that kind of stunt. That was right in the middle of things. We were just getting going. I think it was during our first week of practice and the shutdown happened. So we came out of that on the other end and had a few practices before we left for break, and our break was much longer this year than normal with the academic schedule. So it was, you know, again tough, but looking for anything to latch onto. But the the text messages and the group messages and everything that are flying daily is just I'm happy to manage it because I communicate with the guys and you know, it's the best we can do when I can't see them every single day. Now we're in a different space. Since January thirteen we've been we've been going every day. We have a lot of practices leading up to a first couple of games, which was fine. We're super competitive and did some inter squad stuff. But you know, now with this with this little shutdowncoming, it's we were just getting rapped up with the game legs and so this takes a few games away from us, but we're going to be ramped up and ready to go next week and there's a schedule on your website. Is there an end goal on the number of games you'd love to get to? As their conversation about playoffs, where things out with that? So what we did is we entered into we're calling it a schedule alliance, mostly with the NHC teams that we're playing, Albertus Magnus and Anna Maria being the other two outliers, and there were eight of us and we just decided, hey, we're going to be like minded, we're going to create a pod and we're going to play each other as much as we can. That all. We had a lot of meetings and just a huge thank you to camel's worth and Jamie Rice for helping to put that together, or wich and BAPS and administratively have been huge helps as well to get us off the ground of that schedule. So we were hopeful to get fourteen ish. I think was was the plan to over four can was we're going to lose for here in these last wee get in this weekend combined. So there's no playoffs. We just we were we were saying we just want to play playoffs. Are you know, are great. This is just a year where we can't really be concerned about that. This was all prior to the national tournament being canceled as well. So with the National Tournament, before we knew it was going...

...to be canceled, we said, you know, if there's if they're going to have it and we're going to have somebody or two teams in our plot that were likely to go, then great, then we'll readjust the schedule as as needed. Some schools can't play past a certain date and now that the tournament has been has been officially canceled, I think teams are going to basically we'll all be done by March twenty. I think we'll be a plan. Got Shannon and our for our league right now. Our plans to end on March twenty eight. I think collectively as a group, for us, we thought however long we push this thing, covid is not going anywhere anytime soon. So hopefully we can end this season and then kind of turn the pads for next year. But you brought up a couple words there that I want to bring up with you now. I know it's probably a storage subject. You said national tournament. Earlier in probably about January, I had TJ amount of stars he on from Curry College and Curry and the CECC lost one of their playoff games in their conference tournament. Never won the CCC so they didn't make the national tournament. On the flip side, plymoent state won the mass CAC. You had your matchup lined up with Endicott. Would you still rather pick where you guys were at, knowing you had one year conference championship but unable to play in the National Tournament? Would you rather have had the closure, I guess you could say, of your season actually being over prior to the cancelation? It's an interesting question and I honestly it's not the first time someone's asked me. I think having the ability to play in a conference championship game is a really special thing for our players. So I don't think I would trade that for anything, even not knowing on the other end of it that we'd be able to play in the national tournament. Think getting that, getting that championship and keeping that trophy implement and giving the university the recognition it deserves, I think is is really a big thing for us. So undoubtedly I would choose to go that route. It's not a great route, I understand. No matter which way you choose it. It's your seat, your seasons going to be over. But yeah, understood. I definitely with TJ's point. You know they're with that situation. There was closure for them, yeah, and I respect that. But again, playing in that conference championship game and knowing that you get to celebrate that with your teammates has is a great feeling. So I'm glad that we got to enjoy that. Yeah, I think he would have loved to have won the CCC also. I know I know for us as a league, March twelfth as a date that I will always remember for four years on, because we were two weeks away from our final starting. That's when the cancelation took place. When did it happen for you guys? We were one day out from from traveling, so this was this was on a Thursday, Yep. So Friday we were set to travel down to Endicott, have a pregame practice that day and then be ready to play on Saturday. I had actually, just before practice that Thursday, I had just gotten off the phone of the hotel, set up some meals and things for us. On Friday had our ice time, I'll set and throughout the week too, there was a lot of adjustments because it was already you know, we're not going to have fans or we are going to have fans. Well, there's only going to be two tickets and then it's going to be there no tickets for players, and we just decided with Endicott that we were just going to say no fans and just and just move forward with it. And then the bottom just dropped out so quickly there was nothing we could do understanding. Looking back at it now we understand why, but really difficult to wrap our heads around that. So yeah, but yeah, we were. I mean we were less than twenty four hours away from from traveling. We were going to leave that next morning, go grab some lunch, have an afternoon practice and get a nice dinner in us go to the hotel and do some film and just kind of relax and and it was all done. And I know I felt terrible. I actually left the rink. I had to cook get my kids at their daycare. So sometimes over here to scoot. My wife was busy that day so I had to run quickly and the minute I got to to my kids daycare I got a call from our athletic director. During she told me that that the season was done and just I don't ever want to feel that, that sense of disappointment ever again. That was just that was that was awful and and I know the players. You know again they got to win their championship, so they do have that to latch onto. Yeah, but at the same time it's that feeling is I've never felt anything like that. Yeah, it's it's similar to what I felt, honestly, because you get all the way to that point of the season and then to have it just pulled off from underneath you. There's nothing you can do. And one thing that was very unique for all of our teams is it all happened so fast that week and then with the shutdowns afterwards, that we had to get our players at a town right away. How quickly did you meet with your team? Was it that following Friday or Saturday, and how quickly did they have to get out of town to get back home? So that Saturday was actually the schools of the fourteen was set to be the first day of our sprint break. So I didn't even have a...

...chance to meet with the guys. They actually were out of town and had tickets book to go wherever or just went home knowing that things were canceled and they had a pretty good feeling at that point that we were going to be going remote for school for the rest of the semester to Yep, I'm some of the guys ended up spending like over a month in Florida. Just yeah, I mean they had fun and that's great, but I still would have much rather have been playing in the NCAA tournament. But but it was, you know, was the everything happened so fast, like he said, and we didn't even have a chance to have a meeting with the guys. We were told with Psu, we were told just, you know, stay off campus, stay remote, and I mean zoo. I knew a zoom was at that point, certainly not what it is today. But you know, we did have a quick meeting for those that were still in town, but it was I mean it was a couple of handfuls of guys. It wasn't even at everybody. Everybody had kind of gone off to do their own thing and decompress and and try to have some fun and make sense of what's going on at the same time. Yeah, and then obviously the month of April was the big kind of countrywide shutdown. At what point did you find your own sense of closure, if you did, and stead of yourself, it's not time to turn the page for a new season. Um, I think it was pretty quick after after the tournament was canceled, and I think it probably took about a week. Okay, hearing some conversations that were happening on campus and being fortunate to be a part of those, listening to the administrator's talk as to what was going on. Our president was was in the know, with his sister being part of the part of the White House at the time. So it was it was strange, isn't the word. I'm not really sure, but the closure piece it was like, I don't know if there ever was closure, to be honest. You a little. It's just okay, they you know, we're on to the next thing. So, you know, at that point we didn't know much, but we knew we had a couple of international first year players coming in and the fallow we wanted to make sure that they got their visa appointments and the things that they needed to do with the paperwork involved through our admissions office. A couple of them it took forever, but they were here. Yeah, I think by late September, early October. But it was just, you know, touching base with the guys as much as possible through the spring, making sure that they were they were sad, they didn't need help with classes or anything like that, and then over the summer continuing to stay in Tuction, stay in touch with the new incoming players and and see where they were at. One of them ended up not coming because he just wasn't confident that there was going to be a season an international student and that's you know, it's a different, different investment for them. But I've still, even through this whole season, stayed in contact with him so, you know, it was just the the closure piece. I don't I just don't think it existed. I think it was just like try to make sense of the day that you're in and then, you know, wake up for the next one. Yeah, and then you shift forward to this curren season. Obviously you guys did not start on time in order to fill that time for yourself. Were you allowed to go out and recruit in person? Depended on the week we the answer to that, initially in the junior seasons, is no. Yeah, we were told no one person recruiting. I think once we got into believe it was mid October, we got cleared to go in person. That was then, with the government shutdown happening shortly after that, it was a short lived thing and then once we got to Thanksgiving we could still go. It was discouraged, but we could still go on. Thankfully for us, we have such a small graduating class this year that there wasn't going to be a huge need to travel as much as we usually do. You know. So I guess that may be somewhat of a blessing in disguise, but trying to reprove virtually is just it's beyond difficult. I mean everybody does the best they can, every league does the best they can, every team does the best they can, but it's there's nothing like sites and sounds of the ring, seeing the other coaches around and just having conversations and talking to the junior coaches and talking to the players and just everything is so different. And if there's one aspect in particular, to make kind of broad question narrow it down, is there one aspect in particular when you see a player in person that it's that much different seeing them in person to on your computer screen? Yeah, just I mean on a computer things are much smaller. I don't have a huge laptop, so the screen isn't the screen is that large. But I think just being in person just allows you to see a lot of things that maybe the camera Mrs Behind the play. Yeah, watch how they respond on the bench when their coaches are talking to them, good or bad, after a shift, just watching the adjustments they make, looking a at their body language, things...

...like that. Mean sometimes with the cameras, the quality, it's tough to figure out if the number is exactly the number that you're looking for. You know, there might be a twenty six and the twenty eight and both of them are five foot nine and left handed, so they have the same line. So you N we're you're not sure which when you're looking at until you get into the third period and then you have to rewind the game and watch it again. So but I think just being there and hearing, you want to be able to hear the communication of the players and and again, watching how they were respond to the coaches, I think is a big thing. And you brought up your senior class, which is a smaller class this year and as the kind of the season has progressed, it was at first seniors getting the extra year of eligibility and now all ages, all grades in quality, in that extra year of eligibility. Now, I know you are a college coach on a junior coach, but obviously it trickles down to the junior level for the kids that you are talking to, the small number of kids that you are recruiting. What is your message to that audience that is an aging out junior hockey player and how do they find a way to stay patient during this time? I mean, I think that's what this has taught us is that patients is, you know, patients as a virtue. We've got to just be super patient, but also, if you're a twenty year old junior player, you've you've got to you've got to kind of get after it too. Yeah, so you you should probably be casting a wider net because there's I mean there's still a lot of us coaches that just don't know for sure what players are coming back. Yep, I know we have two that are coming back out of five, so that still leaves us with with three spots. But you know, there's other teams that are graduating, you know, eight, nine, ten players, and maybe most of them are coming back. So it just it really and then you say the trickle down effect. I mean this is going to happen for four years. It's not going to be a one year deal. This is going to really affect everything for four years. So with respect to, you know, talking to the players and junior, it's just, you know, let them. I'm very upfront with the recruits, letting them know. You know, for us this looking into next season, that it's going to be difficult for guys to come in and play a lot. You know, they're going to have to jump the depth chart, they're gonna have to jump a lot of returning players. So, but that doesn't mean that we wouldn't commit to their development and commit to them as a person and making sure that, you know, we give them the tools to succeed. But at the same time it's it's a that's a difficult thing for some to hear. They really want to go somewhere and they want to play because that's what they've been accustomed to and then that's not easy. But for those that are willing to put in the time, I think they'll see the rewards for it on the other end. And as a recording this, we do have ninety seven commitments as a league so far this year, which I believe is on pays for a normal year. Will that go up or down the rest of the season? I don't really know. Obviously we're very proud of every one of those ninety seven commits. Overall we're over one thousand hundred now in twenty one of them have gone on to Plymouth State. Not to put the pressure on, we've had at least one every year since the league was formed. But how have you guys had so much success in recruiting ehl players? Um, I think it's the coaches. To be honest, the coaches that we work really closely with, and even the ones that we were closely within their kids, don't commit to us. It's you know, that's there's no hard feelings between us and the coaches. At the end of the day, it's the kids in the family's decision. But the guys that we really work the closest with our advocates for us. They know what our culture is like, they know what our facilities are like, they under they don't know what our campus is like, and they understand what our philosophy is. So, you know, just just having them working with us, you know behind the scenes when they're able to talk to their players, they get to see him every day. And we don't mean if we could go to every practice all the time for recruits. You know, that would change our mind on a lot of guys on both sides of the spectrum. So we really rely on those coaches to to give us, you know, to be honest with us that they feel like there's somebody that's not going to be a good fit. We need to hear that. And then they are. They're very honest with us and they say, you know, this one's looking for this. You know academically might not be the better fit, or you know geographically might be a great fit or it is a great fit. So we again we really rely on them and I think because of that you really you get a little bit more into the personal aspect of these players and knowing that it's just a good fit for them as people, not as a hockey player. And, as I mentioned, twenty one commitment since the leagals form back in two thousand and thirteen. Overall, you guys play in the mass cact, which is actually the conference that we have pushed the most kids to have any conference in division three. With a hundred sixty one, you've got to led the way of the mass cat the last few years. I'm sure that's pretty well known and talked about on your campus as well. But when you see other mask cact schools recruiting as out on the on the roads and recruiting the same players, how does that make you feel? I mean, we don't, we don't negatively recruit. We will never, we will never speak ill of another school, another coach, other anything, regardless of...

...what our personal beliefs are. My my personal belief is that if we're if we're negatively recruiting, then we're not confident in our product. So there's no need for that. Ethically. There's absolutely no need for it, regardless of anything else. So what I see that out. I'm happy to see him not I love those guys. I loves out and you know it gets heated sometimes with us in games and you know we've had some some back and force with some coaches, but at the end of the day, you know, we're just trying to do the best for our guys and you know, when I see them out, it's we don't even talk about hockey when we're out. We talk about families and we talk about you know, we might talk a little bit about recruiting, but we're just we're we're personal with it. So that's I think with this here, I think that's what I miss the most is seeing those coaches, not just from the mascot but all over, missing those guys that you see regular early and you just you just miss those conversations with them and having some laughs and going out and grabbing a bite to eat after the game or something like that if you don't have anywhere else to go. You know, that's that's a pretty special thing. But but back to your question with the with seeing the mask at, guys out on the road love to see it. Love to know that they're out there trying to try to recruit and get the best guys out there. And if we're if we're crossing paths and recruiting the same player and it's not a conversation I'm going to have with that player and they don't need to have that conversation with me, I don't ask what schools they're talking to. That's not important to me. So well, you method doing something right if you're gonna after the same players as well. I know for for myself personally when the past few years you guys have played in the mask at championship, I love to see the matchup and then just count how many ehl alumni combined or in that matchup. Can you speak more about your conference and what makes it so competitive? I think we we play each other three times throughout the year, so it just automatically there's there's a kind of a built in rivalry with everyone. I'm certainly more with more teams than others depending on the year, but just so competitive. I think that's why it's just because we play each other that many times and it seems like every year there's one team, or two sometimes where there's just a bunch of young guys on that team and those are the most dangerous ones because they don't know enough, and I say that with them with as much respect as possible, that they're just going out there and they're just trying to play harm and when the game every day, they don't know, they're not looking at you know, history, historical statistics of teams and players and who want all conferences or who got rope care about any of that. They're just getting out there and and they're getting after it. They just want to play and of that enthusiasm about it and and I think that seeing that every year, and sometimes it's US last year. It was US last year we were very young team, and and watching us be in that and be super emotional and be borderline out of control emotionally sometimes and trying to do that and you know, it's that's the fun part for us coaches to you know, once you get into a game, we've already we've already done a lot of the teaching and things. We can give you know, some some pointers throughout a game, but we really talk about the things that are, you know, within the control of ourselves, and that's our bodyline, of our emotions, and just start to stay in control. And but again, with the rivalries that exist in our conference, you know, it's that's what makes it so much fun. That's awesome. I hope that a few players here what you just said. They're that you still do play the same teams three times, as many as three times in the season. For this season the Ehl we have had a few instances were teams have faced off twelve times and that's kind of a big difference. But yeah, there is still a chance that when you go to college you're going to see the opponent, the same opponent, more than once. But for one last question. I kind of I gave you this one before because thedn't want to catch you completely off guard, but to kind of tell you where it comes from. This past offseason I brought on every every team in the EH shell and with every coach I asked them the kind of put together their all time line up from their time in the Eh Shel. So to spin it off into your perspective, obviously I mentioned twenty one kids have gone on from the ehl to Plymouth State. If you were to start a game and I had to force you to start only ehl players, which which three forwards to D and a goalie would you put out there in your lineup? This was a tough one. I'm going to go the other way. I'm going to start. I'm going to start in that. So Evan Morelli would be our guy. He would be our starter. He won a championship with us a senior year. Came in as a as a twenty year old freshman, not twenty one, so left juniors a year early, really bought into our philosophy. He was playing behind the senior his freshman year and really kind of took the student roll and his freshman year and I think that development of that year really showed him what it took to be successful at this level and he took that and ran with it for three years. So he would be our guy and that for sure. On defense, this was a tough one. We've got three or four guys that I really statistically speaking, they may not be the highest, you know, scoring...

...defenseman that we've ever had or anything like that from the HL, but but these are guys that played in every situation, played hard, we're smart and we're wonderful leaders. So one of them just graduated last year, Drake Long, acre heart and soul guy. Did everything a coach ever asked him to do, did everything is his teammates needed him to do, really pushed his team to be better. And the other one is toward Thorsen, toward I was from Norway. He's actually still playing professionally right now in Norway and he played for the new eon wolves. Had An injury his last year junior, so wasn't quite where he wanted to be, but he came into us as a freshman and and really just took off. His skating was phenomenal and that's what set him apart for us. But his competitive spirit and leadership and all over me. Even academically, I mean he was a he was a psychology major. I think he was like a three point eat, something stupid. He you know, he was a special human being and he left a big hole when he graduated. But he did a lot for us and was a was a great player forward. Think all three of these guys are centers. You have all three year centers. So Christian Christ car on number one again came. Came here a year early, with one year of junior eligibility, but really bought into the philosophy of coming in here and he actually took a job in our top nine, top nine forwards, as a freshman and flourished. Who was great one. A bunch of draws, killed a bunch of penalties, led by example, ended up as a captain his senior year and definitely I would take him eleven times out of ten on my team. Next Guy is Ludwig Steinberg. was here at the same time as Chris, another centerment play for the oilers. Just a just a thoroughbred, just a warhorse. I mean he was a physical specimen but never took a shift off. got a little bit too strong at times and gotten the penalty box and he's an emotional guy, but he was. He was a special player to have and everything he did was hard, from the way he passed the park to the way he shot the puck to the way he killed a penalty. It was just full speed all the time. The other one is with us now and that's Michael McPherson. He is really developed. Last year was a big year for him developmentally and I think this year he's even more confident coming into the year. I'm centering one of our top two lines and and the two games we played a couple of weekends ago was phenomenal and his line was was a force every every shift. He does it differently than the other two. He's a lot more skill based and puck possession, but can can make a lot of plays and makes guys around him better and again he's a lead by example guy. He's a three point nine something student in his junior year right now and just really looking forward to see what he can do next week once we get started back up. Well, I had a feeling you would pick those two rangers. I didn't know about the rest of the lineup, but I do have one. I have to ask one more follow up question now, because you mentioned those six names from four different organizations within the EH shell. With that variety, is that something that you guys kind of go for when you're recruiting in the e Shell? Um, no, yes and no. I mean you don't want, you know, a bunch of guys from the same team necessarily mean that's not it. That's not a negative on anybody else, but you just you don't want to really create a click within the group as first year guys, but you do want them to have some friends in common to so I think it's important to have that. But I think everything in moderation, like like life itself. But but just again, it's just the coaches that you know that we've been lucky enough to work with, you know Bill Flanagan's group, obviously in the NCDC now, but at the time with those guys they were in the HL and he works his tail off for his guys and he really you know, he advocated for us with his guys. We appreciated that he looked at this as a great opportunity for those guys and you know, same thing with I mean I can I can go throughout the league with the coaches. They're just they're great. They're great to work with, they're great to have just conversations with. I mean some of them are some of the funniest guys that I know and you know, it's just, it's but it's good to have those relationships. I think that's what this is all about, the networking piece. And you know, they get to know me and that helps him understand our culture. You know, a lot more than just placing a phone call every now and then and talking about their players. You know, we talked about again with them. It's same thing as the mascot coaches talk about their families and talk about, you know, the holidays and how our our things going before the holidays, our things afterwards with their kids. And we've got four kids here. So you know, there's a lot of sympathy the even to each other on the all these times. But, but, but it's just a lot of fun and I just I can't say enough about the coaches and how easy they are to work with and how wonderful they they are with their players and really looking up for...

...their best interests. I appreciate that. I know they all do as well. We're all excited that you guys are playing this season, whether there are aren't playoffs. So we're excited that you're back in action. We hope to see you at a playoff game here soon, potentially, so hope. So fingers crossed and good luck dress of the way. All Right, thanks, you'll appreciate it. Thanks again to Craig Russell coming on the podcast this week. Love that final question with him. That's a pretty awesome six player lineup. That he is put together. They're obviously twenty one different players have advanced on from the ehl to Plymouth state and a lot of really high end talent as well. They're one of the top teams in all of the mask AC. But with that, let's bring in the e crew now. And guys, for the first time in a long time I have an item back in my possession. Are you ready? Oh, you do. Regular Season Trophy, no playoff championship trophy for the first five in a long time. sewards, Cuz that's crazy. Well, she has her own table for it at the avalanche. Susan is the in order title is at the avalanche. She makes the place run well, less army knife of the avalance organization. She yes, she has the whip for Chris and Mario half the time. We keep them in line and she keeps the trophy in her office and I got it from her at the playout when the playoffs started last season and she's like, Oh, you know, this is coming back, same as the year before. said the same thing to me, but like they've kind of held on in the trophy for a long time. Not Saying they can't win this year. We're going to get into that because they have a lot going on right now. But I have the trophy back in my possession for the first time in a long time, so it feels pretty good. That's cool. I like that. We're gonna come up with the I know it's the EHL Cup, right, we have to like come up with the name for the when he said it was God, we've talked about you like me men after someone People Cup. I love that. Well, yes, that was a conversation, a quick one, but then you know mark, Jerry Domus Cup. Mark said that. You know, you name a lot of cups after people that have passed away, and he's still out the well, like I was like yeah, but also the playoff pucks have come in. Fred that to my puck collection. I got to be JR Cup Cup puck in a valley pucks. So added to my codittion. So this this park. What's On this playoff pluck? That wasn't on the last one. Prettany dates snow that dates. So these are this is the one that we were unable to use this past year and it fells. It feels like, you know, like when they they have all those extra tshirts or whatever for the team that doesn't win the championship and they should them off to a third little country. Yeah, I had to basically do that with all those four hundred pots that I didn't know what to do with. That said, March Twenty five to twenty nine, two thousand and twenty. That's what we were supposed to be in Providence. That's when we were supposed to be there, but we're hanging out our houses doing nothing. Well with that. Let's start making our way around the show, because the playoff races right now are awesome. It's time for this week segment of around the e show. Around these shows brought to you by the junior hockey podcast, your old for junior hockey news, knowledge and nonsense. Check them out. A TJJ PODCASTCOM favorite question time. But new team where the avalanche seventeen dollars correct. Like what he's going I you know, I don't know. I love it. Like they have. They have a combine. When you combine regulation over time and shoot up, they have sixteen losses. I'm gonna do quick math right now. I don't know if they had that in the previous three seasons combined. They definitely haven't. I mean I know that it showcase, even with all those showcase the last couple of years for Samario. Definitely under sixteen. If we had to do it over under I'm going to guess eleven. I got even might be high. Doesn't get it. I like get out though chart. I up. Brett. What are you thinking, which I have no idea of right now. My brain is I'll say the avalanche lost three teams last year. Regulation why? I think it was about six, maybe not. A question is like can they write the ship? Probably what. Can you speak? English lace, right, they kid it's a sad don't know what that means. That's it is. It is probably English right. Caught like it is island just I say it all the time. Blondie doesn't know what that means. So can you please write, write, this ship. Basically means just get back on track, back to where they've been. I think never heard anyone say that's a little scrow. I mean, look at it right. The two main pieces that you have at the helm of the wheel, Chris and Barrio, who've been there for the last couple of runs, they're still there. You got a lot of vetteran guys. You got the Chris rods is of the world, George Michael Good better in presence. That's what you need...

...this time of year to, you know, settle somebody the maybe the younger guys, the Robert Martinello's of the world. And I think what's their biggest strength? I always thought it was death scoring, but now I'm a little concerned. Their biggest strange right now. I don't wipe. That's so good if it's between the pipes and hey, maybe you know, we've seen before. I think it's I think it might be their decor. I don't know. I just watched Christian Hall big, I think there was Sarah. Yeah, they lost or whatever, but like that get runs the power play as a defenseman. A little big even hill over. He had a top turnover today that went right to the stick of Aden La Valley. Oof. Didn't watch the game today. Sir, I'm a little face. I don't know what their biggest trainth this right now. Kyle, I think what I'd have to probably lean on is their experience of being there. But how many guys on this current avalanche team have actually been there? Chris Aaron's period? Yeah, I can only say arrands, because anyone that was on the team last year didn't play in a playoff game. Right, like the only one that was on the tap point two years ago it's still on the team is Arran's. Yeah, right, I feel like there's no Tim Cronin's and there's no Jake Bunda zoon's and there's no AJ Priz get out that kids without. So do you know what I'm saying? Like there's no those people. Yeah, their first year in the league was two thousand and seventeen and eighteen. We played one a year. No, fifty regular season games that year. Fifty, like that's asterop at the den for getting back to that next season deal. So, sir, thirty nine seven and four. The next season we played quite am I looking? Two Thousand and five twenty, forty, forty five games, thirty thirty nine and six. So each year they won thirty nine games. First two years, first two championship years. This past season played forty six games, thirty three nine and four. So in more games played every single one of the three years. They never touched double digit regulation losses. So was that twelve total losses? And I said eleven. There was eleven the first year, six the second year and seven the third year and then you look at seven. If season, Oh, is their fourth season, that's kind of and saying did I did this right? Yeah, time for its reason to the third season this because I went in this. I've been in this the same as the ABS. My Age out year was last year, Sad, and this season twenty six, eight and four. So obviously they haven't hit double digit regulation losses. I take that back, but they obviously have twelve combined, which is more than they had any of the previous three seasons when they played more games. Is that because of who they're playing and playing the same teams? I think so, Si yeah, I think so too. But that's honestly diving into like a whole nother hour and a half long conversation that could be discussed with like you insert coach name here and everyone will have something to say. So that's a conversation for like. That could be a hole. That Gould be a whole podcast is self. Yeah, I think it's a good mix. Neal, I think it's a mix of the covid season, you know, the way or in tear, the stops, the starts, the playing just the same face as the whole time. So everybody kind of knows each other. In a given year you're always seeing, you know, teams from the style, teams from the north. Geez, Chris probably has to go back to what when he was coaching like the Hartford Junior wolf pack, to back to when he lost them a again, know what their record is in the second half? It's who this year it's eight five hundred, eight six and three. It's clearly five hundred now and according to Chris Serella, a loss as a loss shootout, regulation, over time anything. So that's that's that's that's eight nine. That's eight and nine. And I'm going to come on this podcast this week with a bold statement because of the way things are playing out right now. We're recording this on Wednesday, February twenty four, and the spartans and avalanche don't have another regular regular season game. That's it. Their regular season last one. Yeah, they're done. They both had their last regular season game. Today the wolves and lumberjacks play too. I have to use the term meeting less games because their seeds are already locked up. They played two games this weekend, but with that division there's only four teams, so you only have the second and third round. So the SPARTANS and avalanche, who play now, we're going to play each other, won't be able to play a game until at least March eight or nine. And I already have their playoff schedule. They're going to go from February twenty four. They both played today. Game One of their playoffs series is march ten. How do you? How do you sit for all that time, knowing the way that you enter the postseason on a three game losing streak? Maybe it's right scrimmage. Ninety percent...

...scrimmage each other. They'll I wouldn't be shocked. I would not be surprised. We want to be shocked either. Chris of Marto to be run of them ragged though the next two weeks. Sprints up, down, let's go five. Ous gonna do that thing where he says get to the rink of five. I am. Then he shows up at seven. That's been done before. We watch video for two hours. I think almost every coach is done that, but here ready for the whole God the thing cody did. All right, sorry to be ready for the bold statement. The bold statement is whoever wins the wolves lumberjack second round series is going to the frozen finals. Whoever wins that, whoever wins that series, will get through. Whoever wins the SPARTANS ABS and they're going. I watch these teams. I don't want to make myself sound different from you guys. I've watched them the most because I'm in new HAMPS. So yeah, absolutely, like I've watched in the most. The avalanche have never gone into the playoffs like this. The wheels are like legit off and they have to find what to put them back on. And when you do that in the playoffs, like there's no margin for error, even if it's not a single game elimination, it's a three game like if they're if they have any Ross in that Spartan series, it's over. Like you think they're a little bit. I mean not to I don't know why. I always hate comparing like juniors to prose, but kind of like what we saw the Patriots, Breedi's last run. That seems sputtered into the playoffs, but their face is kicked in against the titans and that was it. Like I think saying the as are going to get their face. I think that in it, sometimes in hockey you can flip the switch. I do think you can. But the way this year like a like, and the way that I even said this to Chris. I was like, you know, in past seasons I don't think he would ever have a situation where they would blow up three nothing lead and losing over time. And that happened one. I agree, that happens. What's because everybody's just better this year too, like we said. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. Like you look at the League. Dish not to bash last year, but like whatever. Like you look at you just look at what has happened. No one's going to Canada. All that. There's no important now. The kids that usually go to Canada stay here USA. Don't drop down SCA to the NA, and a dropped downsc to us or the others. Like well, but that's what I'm saying, like that's why it gets so much better. Like look at that kid, todd filber. Look at me, NAM dropping one of them. I did. I guess name right. That is is as name. So yeah, like, look at him. Like when I was said ABS as, what am I crack Walpole Bjr. The other day I was like, Damn, this kids a best kid on the eyes, hand down harndred percent like he was filthy. And that's what it that's what it is. A key's at an a drop. So that's what it's. That it's so much different this year. There's never been this many night drops and there's never been there's many usahl drops to the NA. I could damn at least like five kids on the top of my head and dropped down from the use. It makes it tougher. It makes it tougher, and I will say this. I know I touched on it last week's podcast. The avalanche weren't trying to lose these games down the stretch, but it has worked out that they get the team. They get the team that they have the best record against of the three potential opponents in that second round, which I do think they win the second round. I think they get through the SPARTANS, but whatever, party over, whichever, and that's what makes this division so wild. Who won the Granite Cup? Sorry, the spartans the code and we're writing them off. I am, I guess, by what I'm saying. Yeah, because I'm ready. No, it's tryer. Just sexed you, by the way. You as if it's just over, but I just look at the way the wolves and the lumberjacks are entering the postseason averaging, Oh God, five goals team. But the good time, the perfect time, and I hope that the two games that don't mean anything this weekend are just kind of kind of go through the motions and let's enjoy it, because that free games yourselves, please. Just a three game series is going to be awesome between those two teams. Absolutely that is going to be awesome. What the Patrick's Mars and Kevinch was see the deadline, the deadline deal breaker. Jeff, did I not call this on the podcast last week? Who scored the game winning goal at jbt night two years ago? You'll REVAN now dominicx, Marson, Kevitch, and then who's on it this past Saturday? Patrickstrix. Wow, kids will skill. I will. I do have to talk about JBT. I have to give Brittany the benefit of the doubt because obviously she did not end up shooting, and I give her the benefit of the doubt because she admits that he's not the best skater and the ice was really chopped up like it was. It was really chopped up. So I'm glad that you did not go out there because, like it was tough to keep my own ballads. Like says, it's like you really couldn't do it, and I'm like, listen, I can shoot the park and skate separately, I don't think I can put them together. Well, is...

...that what it was for? It was a game time decision, and you're so. I also didn't feel like driving an hour and a half away from my house to get my skate to then drive three hours to Laconia. Okay, fair much. She still raise a bunch of money and they did great job, and do you great job. Honestly, the ice felt like did you guys catch any of that at Colorado, Avalanche Vegas Nights when that whole thing started in Tahoe? Like your foot kind of like dug in a little bit like that, because it's the end of a long period, right, like they need to cut the ice and let it step for a second. So I yeah, I have to imagine it's it's not easy. I already I mean, it's just it's that's not easy. I was proud of myself for scoring. We I don't know where that kind of came from. Well done. They'll let us to your horror. Buddy, that you post those silats and my girlfriend were watching it. We were waiting for some you are so into it. You were so into it. I love you. We do. Literally, I was like I'd not that. I forgot. We were busy doing a bunch of stuff, and then I was like, I look to the clock, I'm not even kid of you. Sundred and twenty. I was like, Oh my God, intermissions coming up. Pretty Nie are going up. Bretty and Neil, come on, we're in our car waiting to get food. I try to pull a pocket TV not working. I was then like, oh, youtube, like the Neil set this. Click on it and literally as I clicked on, at the broadcast for it, and now we'll get our first shooter here, the JBT shoot, and I was like yeah, Oh, so we watched you in our car. Nifty move and you can still scape, buddy. Look, thank you. I got it's amazing how many good coaches reached out, like it's of me. They all did. They're like, you can skate better than I thought you could. What, like I could do more than SIP behind a computer screen, guys, yeah, Bro, shot out summer skates at the ice. Then little I will see, like you you forget. This is gonna sound weird. Pretty will make fun of me. You. You forget what it feels like to score right, like you forget the feeling at me. But when you and you, when you shoot the pocket, it goes in, like you just kind of forget what it feels like because you've never done it, like the summer skates, the summer skate whatever, like everyone is watching you do this and like you go in and you actually score and then the avalanche bench, you turn around and they've roughed it. I'm like, Oh my God, with them his phone recording, I was literally, I make sitting with avalanche scratch squad crying my eyes out laughing. Dude is mad funny. I could picture him and Mario like salve a, like Oh, here he goes. So my standing on. They were, they were all right, they were, they were. Let me, just as I'm standing up, my deskhair like, Oh, let me get that better. I don't let me. Come on, come ahead up, little thing. Please sit down. Think good. I did a little shift from the back end of the forehand shot. That's holling in that I hit the post. The next one. That was rather frustrating and then I tried the Forestburg move out of nowhere, because I actually pulled it off once when I was in like seventh grade, but that was a long time ago. That was a very long time, because we're a night. You Chase Thirty Tomorrows. Was eons ago. So what was that? It was what was last time you played? To come, because it's you have the same feeling. You played for a long time competitively. Yeah, that was always two thousand and thirteen. We're gonna get you a neil back on the ice team. Yeah, I know, it's it's a weird feeling. It was. It is such a good event, though, like it was. I went on during the second and third period the talk with the the broadcast there, and it's just like even in that night they told a lot of people to stay away because he didn't want it to be like a spreader event, and the people still just wanted to be there. They had a good had a pretty good crop for it. They were they were separated. Well, you can see it. It's see it right on the on the screen. And they raised over fifteen grant and I lost the guy that raised the most money and billets. A few players on the team so we does. Yeah, I the he has the no visor. Was He grandfathered in this? Sorry, mean I will say this. I felt like my my shot that went off the post and my move, the Forceburg move, were a little bit harder than the five whole winner that he scored. But that's okay. I was not only during that neal. That was a cope Copeck, who's the starter on the EHLP. Still got it, you're thinking. Really Stung, John. I was. No, this still felt differently, spelt differently. So it was fun, though the avalanche bench definitely erupted in. The wolves did as well. It is and I already had tremble asked me if I wanted to do it again next year. We'll do it again next year and maybe, maybe, up you want to be get some assistant coach offers somewhere. They but like the Mare Jack of the chirps are so good in this league. Like I got one text from Ryan Milanafie, who's a broadcaster, right, and he's said that wasn't that wasn't awesome slowmo replay of your goal, and then before I could even respond, he's like, oh sorry, that was full speed. I was like, oh my gosh, I'm gonna text it to well, with that we go to the central and the centrals interesting because there's more than just the division race now because obviously the Rangers have secured number one, but the rangers actually still have a chance of the regular season title. Yeah,...

...because seventh loss a day from, shocker surprise, breaking the little flyers. And the regular season title is that much more important this year because in a normal year you play through the second round and then there's two from the mid Atlantic to from the new Eng one that go. That's it. This year, with our at large, you know, yes, are we letting everybody into the playoffs, and that in a way throws a bone towards teams towards the bottom. Yes, but with the at large we have the teams at the top still fighting, because whoever wins the regular season title, they they are automatically going to the finals. Right. So say, God forbid, Walpole beat Bjr, but B jr, yeah, car friend, and be sure a regular Trashia and they win the regular season. Decap to you and West jumster. Go what I will say about the rangers and the eighty sevens, though, in talking with both coaches, rich and Adam. They don't want to rely on the free bid to the finals. They still want to win their way there and do it the quote unquote right way, especially at your Ain last. Yes, but if you have that safety net it makes you feel differently. And for the Rangers, how it works down the stretches. They'd have to win their final two games wizards on the day that this podcast drops, the twenty five, and then Sunday against the warriors. Get to win both of those games. For the easies know the Rangers would. So what are you talking about? Wizards? For? They play the wizards. If this Drus, sorry it might. I have to win both those games, beat the wizards, beat the warriors. If to win both those games and hope that the seven split, they're getting Maryland, Maryland on Friday, PROTEC on Sunday. If that's big tea, if they do that, they'll tie in points which there's no head to head tie break or because they're never played and face each other, pois ranging. You know the Rangers the next time. Next time scored more goals. I can finish it, Prittey. They have one more win. It would have one more win and that would be the difference between first and second in the league standings. There's coming. It's going to be just those two teams, belts boys, just those two teams. I still at this moment, think that the seven s win both those games, but we saw today the little flyers needed that game the same way Marylyn will on Friday because they're fighting for that second first round by there. And it is another veteran team that's been there this time of the year before. Trown to that south. Before we get to the south, the central like out after that with the the Rangers to seven's locked up. If you want to get your calendar ready, I know, Jeff, I think you're going to pick Mason Palm. We're going to get to that, but they already I already have the picking tonight, though. Right now we're not picking tonight. He's so choice. Just get the poops out of me. March, fourth, fifth and we sevens. It is March, fourth, fifth and Seventh Express versus warriors. There's your plays. Maybe hold on, UNA, I need to get right. Let's say that when we get for Dude, are you kidding me? Right now? You guys are so rude. Schedule One on a weekend for Christ's sake, are you joking me? Whatever on. My saying is we had a bad series or series on the weekend. For it's a fourth fit. Seventh is going to be who can do walpole. Sorry, Sally, as you here's your to seven matchup. We're still waiting to figure out three, six and four five, because I don't even know. I don't even know. HMM, I don't know who finishes where. And each team has a number of games left right like that could cut that could come down to Sunday. Well, everyone has to be done by Monday. We know to Tuesday. We have a couple teams of project is Monday, Tuesday. Yeah, so you know, you look at the chiefs right now, they've played thirty seven games. They have only one left. They're in third place, but they have only one left. So would you rather be them and being ahead of everybody else, but looking behind you, knowing that you know the railers. Yes, they only have one left, but if they tie on the railers hold the tiebreaker over the chiefs. The wizards have three left and there four points back. You'll the seahawks have counting money games, the busiest week of anybody. They have three left. But now this could all work itself out that all four teams have thirty six points. Then what do we do? We're playing, I...

...don't know, but you literally beat up to do a little coin toss or one. We'd have to eat. have to eat the first tiebreaker in our league, our head to head points. So I'd have to pull all the head to head points between all the teams that are tied. It's like ehl fantasy buddy spreadsheet and I had to be like this. And and three through six is important, as we touched on multiple times, because if it's for is, if it's chief Seahawks, that's over a hundred twenty five. The rest are all in inside a hundred twenty five. But if it's cheap us, all the teams are talks being epic. Yeah, what a spreading. I could see being like just epic, like grinding over time. Yeah, I'll be exciting. That's so the to the two big games that are coming up in the central division, I think, are almost like the biggest dominos for us to figure out what's going to happen here. Cry, we have wooster, whoever Friday, what's Lester's? What's thes lit sneaky team. I don't know. I don't know what's just playing valley on Friday. So on Friday and see, because valleys already locked into seven when they're playing. Whoever said? I don't know. I just do there playing Friday. I couldn't. I did that. railers warriors is on Friday. I wouldn't say that's the bigger domino, though. Wizards Wizard Seahawks is a big one on front. Oh, that's huge. And then setimes plane, whoever know? That's and it seems jeeves across on Sunday is a big one. So that one's going to be interesting because they're at least all finished by Sunday and they may turn around and start on the third or fourth also, and we have no idea who those matchups are going to be. Are you much rather that than being Chris and Mario's position? Wait, two weeks right, and was sitting there and being like, like you said, I know we're still working on the central but like man, I mean, hmm, so it might match up in the south. The Rangers are going to be in a similar position as the ranger. The Rangers are the same are same position yout that the rich is going to be deal with the same stuff. Yes, if the look at, look at the playoffs, has three rounds first, second and third. The first round is two through seven in the central and three through six in the cell. Right. Once you get through the first round there's four teams left and eats to visit for the second round too, and for the third round and one goes on. Then you figure out that out large but to get two those third rounds, each one is very different. Would you rather have the north, where all four teams are off? Would you rather have this central where just one team is off? Would you rather have the south, where it's like the normal mid Atlantic? Two teams are off in the first round? And I know Brittany wants wants this. What is the matchup that you're watching for in the south? Because there's a number of good ones tomorrow out, I mean like this week. They're like in general. Well, tomorrow I'm starting about PLF TMD. That one is the biggest team of the YEP, right, like everyone, get up, get off your seeds, get oh see, Maryland is the wind. They get two points. Dick if I don't even want to know. Actually, a low just texted and said who you got for the Big Tilt Tomorrow? Yeah, I don't even know. To be like, and that's a good the little flyers, I think, because the little flyers schedule was the day we record this against the eighty sevens and then the day it drops against Maryland, and then Monday and Tuesday against PROTEC. Either they're gonna buzz off of their win today or they're gonna pull some we play forty minutes type, so drenaline Mary and Maryland schedule is. They just drops against the little flyers, Friday against the eighty seven so it's equal there. Little flyers and Marylyn eats play each other and the eighty sevens and then Maryland's two games set. While the little fires is against Protech, Maryland's is against the rough riders. which schedule would you rather have, dude, like, I don't even know. None of the above. Option e. There you go, bread. I was none of you. I'll take broadcasting for option D and stand outside and thank you. Low Key. Maryland's low key, though, okay, and give in mind this right for the eighty seven and there one. We know that. That's done there. We already touched on their regular season chase with the Rangers. We just touched on little fires, Maryland, the battle for two. But then those other teams to be mentioned, in Protech and the rough riders, they're in a tight battle themselves with the apple core. Let's say the cord just jumped over the rough riders. Now protech. PROTECH is right now, I would say, probably in the driver's seat at for for you,...

...because four hosts five, at least four games, one and three, right. But then keep in mind that, apple core or rough riders, whoever finishes five gets protect. So you're giving yourself at least one home game. Whatever finishes six gets either Maryland or the little fires, and you're going there for all three. Yeah, I don't want to be six. So, like these games, while they're important for the teams that are battling for to they're equally as important for the team's battling to not be six. Facts. Yeah, it's it's wild standings, just separated by the whiskers of a Cheetah, just, you know, real close everywhere. Everybody's right there. Did you see? Did you see the not to go back to the shoot out? But did you see my head shot with label on the top place? Absolutely, you know, wild ready were screaming, Bro and then like turbone a home in one of you his favorite seas. He's fine. A little copies in the certain he's from Maine and I was crying Justin. Sent me that and I was like yes, I like to say ously you like it was good and hey, the south is wild. It really is, because just like how we don't know. We don't know who three through six is in the central I don't know who's going to win to the battle for too and I don't know who for through six is going to be. Like I said, I think protech is a little bit in the driver's seat. But the second I say that, those games against the little flyers, if the little flyers lose against Maryland, those games are monumental for the little flyers. Next week absolutely. Now if the little if the little flyers win against Maryland and then the seven win against Maryland on Friday, maybe Monday and Tuesday mean a hell of a lot less for the little flyers and the hell of a lot more for PROTEC. That's a lot of hockey, though, for protect to rate. So they are the eighty sevens on Sunday, I believe, and then it's so you know. I mean it's I'm not being Bistros Project. I'm saying like, I don't they're getting a skeptical way. It's three games in three days and see eighty seven's in a hungry little flyers team. Yeah, because maybe so, maybe you kind of want. If you're little flyers, are you kind a little more confident than we then, we think? Or No, you'll lotch them you want. You lost of them last time you played. Do you think the sevens rested south foundry seven's rest anyone? Maybe opens the door a little. Not Know, because if the if the Rangers beat the wizards the day this drops on Thursday the twenty five, and the sevens beat Maryland on Friday the twenty six, then both teams have to play things out on Sunday. It the regular seasons. That'll comes down to Sunday, which they both want. It's I like, what time of those two games? Are they close to each other? I think the Sundays during Sundays. That like new or something. I don't know. Yeah, you just early. I might be like to something. I know I will be at the Lawrence Valley for them. That's all I do be knowing it's at noon on Sunday. Lauren Forum at twelve, thirty years protech in the eighty seven. So I think what we have to do in the offseason is encourage all of these teams to install out of town score boards in their building and hire one staff, yes, just to go to the League lessing and type in what's going on. Because how do you, how do you focus on what you're doing on Sunday if it plays out the way that it's supposed to, but without looking over your shoulder, looking on your phone while you're on the bench? If you're rich, to capture Adam hooli's like God, you know rich is going to be on his phone on the bench, like grab, that's so rich. No, dude, Adams, are you like word old and girl Boh data, which is like to be a Wifi pass focus on our job? Is that one's like gracious? Probably. I don't know him, as was you guys, but I could. I could see. But the sevens, like if they both went out, the seventh win it. So I think it's less looking at your phone. If you're the seven S, I'm you control your own destiny, right, like controlling task at hand. I think if you're the rangers and you and you log in on Sunday, and I'm not saying this is going to happen, but you see after the first period it's five nothing. You say, okay, maybe the last two periods here. I know what I want to rest a few of my guys by the same time. Both teams are off the first week in March. Yes, if I want to keep everybody in. I talked to rich for a while about this. This is that the scary part of the bye. Pretty mentioned earlier in this podcast. The last time the eight seven had a buy didn't work out for Josh Fuscoing at the time. Wilkes Bear looks bear wolks. That's a Chris says wildwere. So it's it's how you balance all this and keep your team focus. It's why they're the coaches right out of percent but there's a lot to just take in. I'm just curious because I know, and actually I kind of I agree with Brenier about...

...team Maryland. That's that's a team we got to really really watch right in the south. If we're talking on them, a playoff team, says October. So they have a guy and you are I'm tee on their team, Chriss the sleek. For quite some time. My wrong Dennis, not Dennis, was on Wilkes Bare Brow. Dennis was on roads bear. They're almost just like that sense of like Ay. There's the experience, which no one can actually measure, but it does mean something and just like that extra drive. It's funny because there were two kids that are on that were on that Wilkes beare team, Dennis Harka, Pankos. Three my okay, I don't know who. The third one is maddy bloods Keith the curb, your boy. Yeah, Maddie B is committed today, but that's Maddie B. Yeah, I know, try and get up my dog. Sorry, I'm going into that right now, but I a flutely love that kid more than life itself. Wait, who's the third one? Wait, actually, don't tell because I have a hered coolie. So we talked about this a few weeks ago in the PODCAST. All that was Walker my friends. Yeah, that's why I said I'm hey. No, wait, talked about this a few weeks ago on the podcast and it's amazing how many people that you don't even realize listen do listen, because then the amount of parents that listen. Hey, parents, parents, this is a parent, a parents. It was listening. Heard this segment. Hurt US mentioned map Wilenski, heard US mentioned Dennis Arka, Panko, but then we didn't mention Ben Meisinger. He plays with the cheese right now. The three remaining players from that Wilkesbary team that are still in the EHL. Obviously you're different, different, different division, different division for Meisinger, but there's three players left over from that. So I'm just thinking. shot out to Johnny Jackson's mom for messaging me on it. Bertie, Bertie's awesome. Yes, so I didn't even realize that at first that we had said that we had missed him the first time and we bring it up again. So yes, that's that's something to watch, because I think the one of the teams that I don't want to say has the seven number but knows how to beat them. Is what I'll say. Is, Marilyn, you're Josh Fasco and Bernie I called us out. Everybody knows her husband, very good play by play man for the flyers. Mr Mr Jackson, yeah, I'm Jack for a long time and the phillies he does a pilies to. That's right, his phillies radio, I believe. Yes, so he's great. But with that, that's that's the EHL. In the EH L P it's not as tight. A lot of the seeds are kind of more locked up. You know, north we know one avalanche to lumberjacks, three wolves. In the central it's kind of the same with the Rangers, then railers, then expressed and chiefs and Warriors, and down South Sevens almost have it clinched over the little flyers. There's a chance a little fires can come back, but it's one of those where are they have to win out in the eighty seven have to lose out. So not as many tight races. But I guess you can say there was a tight regular season championship race there as well, and that one while their rivals, I say at the ehl level, rangers and avalanche, are fighting for the regular season title there as well. So funny how that works out. But with that, I know that you guys are dying to get to this. I know I am because I had the best week. Let's get to the e crew fantasy challenge before we wrap things up. Here's what to watch for this week in the east show, it's time for the e group fantasy challenge, brought you by but you cheese brick up and pizza and pop stuff your home for authentic Italian dishes, catering and group dining. Check out their party pizzas and specials apper to cheesecom. I just saved this as a surprise. I haven't looked at any of the standings until now and I keep getting less and lesson. Dudes will segment every week. I want to go jump off the top of bridge. I'm out here. See what's not helping you. What's not helping you? Our injuries. You've got a few players that have got hurt here down the stretch but have come back. Yeah, that, George McMichael. Yeah, so it's kind of tough because we know felman coming back for you. We know that you're going to pick felman probably on your playoff roster. Dude, if you think Donnie, you're on crack. He's missed four or five games here and he's coming. The tough part is the hold of the wolves have still one. Yeah, well, Patrick's, you know, has taken the Donnie Feldman rules. So, yes, yes, so at ricks was not available for any of us to pick at the tea guys. So it's don't even crept over a thousand points. Oh No, but I think that the one thing that has so what I fought itself because, Jeff Sweet, this past week was led by Jason Rascouci's seventeen points and Mason Palmer with twenty five, point six points. Despite I think it'd be losing.

He lost one, but one, two. He lost the one in overtime, though, two, so we still got time. Went there. Yeah, I know he's present. I know you. So, yeah, is that Jeff? When you go down to three, two, one on on the third? We doing that? Well, we have to. We have to record the next podcast right before the first round starts. So if it meant if there's a game on the third, we're going to record on the second, if there's a game on the fourth, will probably record on the third. So wait, what, what kind of have to figure that one out on the fly. But we have to go down two, three, two one for that first round. Tod that's this. This pains me to say this because George is such an awesome kid, but I think Mason Palmer's your guy. Yeah, I mean, like you said, Georgie sit the injury bug and Wallpole Express, or Choo Choo, Choo, Choo Choo, and and like a train, you have to think time out. This guy's totally going reverse psychology on here. I'm not because of the need to see and I jeff was just like yes, yes, Mr President, get to think of it like this. You the think of all of the Express. I have a first round series. Write. The Express have a first round series. All right, see the the rate Amlians. Don't tell me more. The avalanche. Don't the way the avalanche are. Oh true, the able bore. I like this. The avalanche for out in the second round. You hope that the express us are still in. I mean it's going to be. It's going to be tough for all of us and I think you a miracle, but I think, I think it happened in it in one hundred eighty kyle can happen. I think that's one that I would be surprised if jeff picked otherwise. But for Kyle this past week, a big yes, Michael Even. It's just it goes without even. You're saying you need to buy his jersey. He's there, so so does e P squatiri. He needs to buy it to todd his massive collection that he has. I'm just I'm still mind when I get it, like you know, I'm slowly creeping out of the basement, slowly like Tak your tough. Let's think top five scores. Two of those guys are on my team. Yep, that's a fact. There's fantasy just doesn't make sense. That's what doesn't make sense. Doesn't make this just game but pays rather fantasy league. But anyways, it's continuedus ran had a shut out for Kyle the day that this dropped. Jackson Bernard has been playing well as well and a big reason why kyle has started the creep up a little bit. I don't think it's going to be a total miracle, but I'm going never looks it. He stopped this week three or eighty two or leas the leading saves Pin Ardi, sixty five. Yeah, kids, and second most points this week. And it's like it's so frustrating because you think that you're actually gaining crown on her and then you look at her score and it's like fourteen for you, Souda, to fourteen, four five rady. He's are petting on she inside. We know you're in the frozen finals. Oh, factors calls that over early. Britny, freaking heart man. The hell answer, Jake, with chance kids lighting it up. That's my bust one. I know I'm picking him for one of them. Kid got two goals the other day, scoring overtime. When I was there. Did I celebrate low key when they won against Wallpole? No, could never be me. Raw. Who Me Wrong? Broad, you definitely didn't sell right. Lowdey, hikey on that one hike. And then somebody on Wallpole called me out there like they don't celebrate when they scored, and I said, yes, are yes, I did it. So true, deals. He has climbed over all of us, got back to that second place, and then he's still forty three. So once fun, stupid, stupid. It's les. Let's chance be fin hundred forty five. The chance scored three goals this past week. Didn't have any assist. defenceman, defenseman. Two of them are over to goals. Yeah, what for time? clickers you like, and that's all I'm going to best. Lean and that's a nest cack. Pretty did the reverse earlier the year. Remember everyone. She picked him like I'm done him on Britney steam and now also know that's fine. You wake up, let's go. I pick the chance and I pick Andy Moore and they say that's our girl, let's go, that's our biggest fan. Just with their goals for this broad they're down late. Do you think younger born all those guys like to get it? Just Britt like a dude. Absolutely younger's my best friend on this planet. Are you getting me? He like apologizes when he like doesn't do good. It's actually the cutest. Wow, oh my gosh. Anyways, my team, Oh, Mark Movin, my team, the lumber tracks, or just Egan Schmidt and David us, the show dude, the Duke. Sir, see you stuck with him. Be a well done for you patients. A virtue. It's another one, though. He wit Schmidt this past week had four goals, six assists, three power play points, a sure handed point,...

...your game winning goals, and one of them was against the top five team. Whoo yeah, that's thirty three pointed. Here are all your point now reduce. Reducing started on one. Four Games for me, with a hundred and thirty eight saves. I shut out and two wins against the avalanche, right in the top five. So that way you got a lumber Jaxt Jersey, because you own these guys whose names on the back of that? Is it smit? Or there's no name on the back of it, just just numbers. Its play. Eighteen. I don't your name one person who's these ten favorite number? Yes, I was. It's who was eighteen? Man? Yes, yes, your instagram, your rabit eighteen. So when your stock snails, Instag is that? What is that? Why? You like eighteen for Johnny Dean or his like. It's angs it, though. There's a whole back story to it. I I'm I'm Jewish. Eighteen. There is a special meeting in Judaism that in the number eighteen means life and there's there's a Johnny Damon. I wouldn't have you pay me eighteen bucks my birthday. Member did hey it to you? Call that a get but like, anyways, I'm such a Oh my God. But like, honestly, Kyle, I was like I was a huge fan of Damon, especially because he wore eighteen. Then he sounds with the Yankees and I'm like, why doesn't he get it? The Yankees are arrival and I'm like, wait, isn't he's not even from here. That's very just got arrested the other day. Ye're right, she came over the crowd. But Egan Schmidt and David Josey combined for sixty eight point six points from wow, which is my favor should then you should then well them a teen dollars. Seriously, I think that's right. My entire team got goes so good were their birthdays. It'll be what's called a give if I mean, but I had five guys, six guys, get me zero. He lool like see what? And that's what's so frustrating, Jeff, because I'm like okay, way, yeah, Waitin but I am saying in my defense, like sounds like my guys just didn't play, but like I only gave like eight points. I gained eight points after all that. That's it. Yeah, because, like the pro now shows just running all the day, and I know this, like for my three, two, one, breakdown, like eagan smit, yes, reduce, yes, what else do I have to do to catch up? That's what I'm saying. Like Andy Moore's yes, the chance, yes, Miller, yes, laurestus. This comes spiral out of control. Playoff time. Finally, Brittany's team hits the hits the so, dude, I'm keeven three B J our kids. Don't sleep on them. Is there a like a log against them? Now? There's not. Next season, rule, skyle, when we call, Dude, when we come up with a fantasy rule block for next season, our owners meetings next year. I say owners meetings, I mean us for owners, doing our own we're gonna have to do. Do we eat? Do we need one of these? Yes, I will see that trophy already. Bring it to bring baby, say I am let's all donate seventeen. Me and my one thousand eight hundred and seventeen. So to really do eighteen dollars right now. It's get recaps. Empe it was eighteen. Will don't need that amount. Serencap this photos, Kyle. Is that eight hundred and sixty eight point eight? Jeff, nine hundred and ninety one, Neil, one hundred and ninety seven in Brittany. Forty two. So like yes, sir, forty two. It's just it's I hope that. I hope that I get close enough in the third round. No offense. The Jeff and Kyle that we can create another twitter poll or instagram pull and get everyone just fired up, the picking either myself for Brittany. Okay. Well, everybody who has played in the problem of Rangers Organization, be it Kyle, you, you should love this. This is the political party separating. I'm that's true. That's true. Just, yes, yes, came, whatever you say. I'm just like yes, really is tell me more. Must be something like because you're a wizard. So he is like melody puts on us. Yea, yes, that just I mean, Hey, Britt he's not gonna like to hear this, but wizards playing on my birthday, and I mean, Hey, maybe it's the tea. Why don't I like that? Because if there's a birthday wish, I guess you could say the closet wizards fan that rich says I am is asking for the wizards to win that game. Is that at the edge? It's not quite clearly there. Tomorrow is at the Bich. I actually have no more regular season games and I'm calling sad I my next call will be a playoff game. Very Sadday. Dead Probably. I reached out to both corey and rich. Of course, rich and perfect fast room is like hope you slept well and I was like Huh, like it was a thirty game, and then I was like, dude, my car literally died out on ninety five,...

...but she's getting fixed. We're going to run her for another year too. You could send him a picture of your car on fire on the side of the highway you'd like put some water on it right through. My car literally couldn't let me go any farther than share Massachusetts and I had a turn around like obvious here in Massachusetts, eighteen was exit eight. Ninety five ritenfore, so main street. So obviously a lot a big game still coming up. While a few seeds have been determined in a few of the divisions, there's still a lot to be determined here in the last six days of the regular season. That's all that really remains. I don't know what they were going to drop this yet. Next week it's either going to be Wednesday or the regular Thursday release. All depends on the playoffs schedule, but keep an eye. Got Eastern Hockey League. Don't Org for that schedule. I know all of our coaches are anxiously waiting to schedule their series.
