On this week's episode we review a handful of teams that have already hit the holiday break, along with the upcoming slate of games leading US up to Christmas. We provide the latest update on the e crew fantasy challenge and discuss how things may play out when we turn over to two thousand and twenty one. But first we kick things off with Joe Doyle, the associate head coach at the Air Force Academy and the father of an Ot seahawks hockey club defenseman. Joy Now by Joe Doyle, the associate head coach at Air Force How's it going, Joel? Good? Thanks for having me. Neil, thanks for coming on. When I sent the emails out about our allstar event, which unfortunately we had to cancel, you were one of the first guys to respond saying that you wanted to come on the podcast, so I appreciate it you coming on. One big reason why, of course, is your son, Luke, is in our league this year. Went into the decision to have luke play in the EHL. Yeah, he's had a had a full, wonderful first half here. He's a he's a kid who grew up in Colorado and if you look at your rosters it seems like you're getting more and more Colorado kids and you know played AAA hockey out here for a while but wanted to play all three sports. He played hockey, baseball and golf in in high school and was a young senior. I think he might be one of the younger players in your league as a two and was looking for a home and cody Campbell, who's the head coach of a Walpole Express, has coach Luke in the past and had him here and suggested it be a league that he look at and and funny enough, you know might have had an opportunity with cody, which we would have been thrilled about. But my brother Leo actually lives in Yarmouthport, like three miles away from the Tony can ice arena, and I've kind of watched Billy Zanna Boni's, you know, coaching career evolve. A good friend of mine is Walt Kyle, who billy played for in college at Northern Michigan, and so I had to cody. I said, hey, if luke ever had an opportunity with you, that would be unbelievable, but hey, he's got a pretty good billet situation, if it will ever work out, with the seahawks hockey club. And and sure enough luke got an opportunity there and is has been fighting for ice time. But as far as what Billy's done with that organization and the opportunity he's provided luke, it's it's been fantastic and, like I said, having a built in billet a few miles away, it was kind of a bonus. And I have to ask that he because he said something about ice time as an od to was there any conversation about is this the right time to go out to Massachusetts? Or was it like always, this is the right time, he wants to go right now. Well, I mean it's an Oldt we could have played another year a midget. One of the things maybe we can talk about is just how much, you know, I believe in the in the whole junior hockey experience and you know, Luke could have stayed around here, but part of the growth and development, not only hockey wise, but for these young men who, you...

...know, are chasing whether it ends up being club, D D One hockey, I'm not sure that matters as much as the growth and development that they get from living away from home, having to get to the rank on their own, doing their own laundry, maybe being a little homesick, girl sick, all those type of things go into the junior hockey experience and when they ultimately go to school, whether they play one, two three years of junior hockey, I just think there's so much better prepared for college going into the classroom, having a feel for maybe really what it is that they want to study and do after college. Those those one to three years or just so invaluable for the maturation process, their accountability when they show up on a college doorstep and so as much as anything, yes, we kind of thought it was it was the right time. I mean he's been a, you know, in and out of the line up type of guy, but that's okay. It's his first year as junior hockey and for for all of us, my my wife and I, and I think for parents who send kids away, I think that's as important as anything. What what? What situation are you sending them to? And again, what I heard about billy and saw from afar like he's a wonderful mentor. He's an unbelievable hockey guy, but he's a wonderful mentor for these young guys that that ultimately are going to pick up life skills and life experiences that are as important as the as their hockey growth in my mind. And what's great is you mentioned the connection that you got through cody Campbell. The two names that the you've mentioned so far. One is last year's coach of the year, one is the coach of the year in Elife from two years ago. So you really couldn't have gone wrong with either spot. But obviously he comes and plays junior hockey and what's been a very unique year for us. The schedule changes almost constantly. And as an eighteen year old, he finds out the team is staying here through Thanksgiving and then they had team on Thanksgiving. How did you feel about all that as a parent? Will you tuned in? Did you like the idea? How did you take it all again, because of, you know, the trust that I have in that organization, the League. No one. He's under a good roof there again, it's just another little bit of adversity that I think down the road, is going to serve serve these kids well. And you know those those things have happened. But also what has happened. It's across all the leagues, whether it's the USAHL, the NA, the NCDCBCHL thehl, because because of COVID and and and Americans not being able to go across the border and and more kids looking for homes in the US, I think every one of those leagues is better this year. Like the depth of player in in all of those leagues is just better than it's ever been. And so, you know, for kids who maybe are finding themselves in and out of the lineup, I think of a function of that in some ways is just the depth of player on those better teams and all those leagues and for the for the better players in those leagues. I think that's that's that's been better this year as well. The better players are having to compete for ice time on their own teams and playing against better players on other teams than they potentially might and and that's just good for development all around, I think. And one player that I have to bring up with you, it's maybe helps you send luke to the Eh Shell, is a player currently on your team, Air Force, blake bride. It's the story that I talked about so often on the podcast when I'm at the CCM showcase I have to had on right now. Blake bride is a player who played a year in...

...the EHL, a year in the NA, year in the US a shell, and I think what I say the most about him is he mastered each level. He could have taken another step forward at different points in his career, but he waited for the right amount of time and spent the right amount of time at East level to make sure he was ready for that jump. When you bring in a kid like that WHO's had that toy of experience, how do you portray that same message to your son and other future players to follow that path that Blake took. Yeah, it really is a cool story. He's another one who played a little bit of midget triple a in Colorado growing up, played a little bit of high school and then decided, you know what, I want to chase this and you know, the Boston Junior Rangers gave him an opportunity and, like you say, he made the most of that. There was a very good player. Still had a couple of years of junior eligibility left and left there and went down to Odessa and the North American league and that's where we started. We saw him at our showcase and, like you say, the CCM showcase in Denver each year. Had A little bit of a track record on him. But then he jumps to Odessa and I think as a forty fifty point player there. And the point that you make that you know a lot of times it's easy to be in a rush, but but to be but to be, if not the best, one of the best players on your team and really get that level figured out over time. Those, those type of players typically have more success than than others who maybe race off and, like you say, haven't mastered the particular league or level that they're at. And in Blake went to Odessa, like I said, had a great year and then opportunity opened up for him and two falls in the USHL and ends up being a Clerk Cup champion there and hear in the sea in Sioux falls before he came to us and it really just is a great, great story about development, progression, a young man who you know, who wouldn't take no for an answer and just kept on moving his way up up the ladder and he's been a good player for us. He's a sophomore right now and I think as a guy. Like I said, he wore a see on a USAH L Clark Cup champion team. It wouldn't surprise me down the road if if he wore a letter for us as well. And I said it's say as to everyone I talked to about our league. Obviously we know nine of every ten kids it's going division two or division three, but there is a path there if you want to go division one is it's safe to say that you know this is the state of the I make if you have the talent to play Division One, Division One schools will find you. Yep, I think there's no doubt about that. They'll not only find you, but I think what you know in again just starting with the trust and confidence, and I had not just in in billion cody and others, but I think that league not only does a great job of moving players to the appropriate level, whether that's to another junior league maybe, or to Dt dthree schools. And let's be honest, right now there's more division one of Clare's out there than there are lockers for players right now with what with what USA hockey is done over time and developing Americans, with the number of euros that are coming over. Obviously the Canadians. There's more Canadians now you know that are that are playing college hockey. They're seeing the path and numbers to the NHL that that are feeding those NHL clubs. But I guess where I'm going with that is I think it's not only a great league for developing players, but it's developing coaches. The two I mentioned...

...if they want to coach college hockey some day, I think they're going to. They're going to coach college hockey. There's other guys across the league that fit that bill that I know, maybe not know as well as cody and and now billy to a certain extent. But but they develop coaches and and I think you know, when I when I look at the League you have, you have such great leadership from the top down, like mark compel is one of the best you know, you know not only as a player but it, but as a man, one of the best you know US people to be to be guiding any level of hockey, certainly junior hockey, and what he did for the League for so long was amazing. And now a Joe, Joe Bertania, sitting in that seat. It really starts from the top down and and I think I don't know how I got off on that, but it's true. I mean, but I think from the leadership and then yourself sitting in the communication seat that you do, but but from the leadership on down to the coaches, these kids really have a good opportunity. And I guess where I'm going with that is billy's in a bolt. Bony moved the kid into the NA last year that he was telling me about that Joe, I had this goalie and he's a great player and and and and he's he's getting some interest and I think for him to get to the level that he needs to get to. You know, I think he's getting some man a interest and I think it's in his best interest that he get there. And so there really doesn't seem to be a selfish mindset at those coaches know the game, they know what they're looking at and I think if he really have somebody that's ready, maybe for the North American or the USHL, they're going to help that kid get there and then it's up to that young player to find their way and stick there. And if they don't, then maybe they're back and, like you said, having to Daven, to dominate a little more, maybe before before they are ready for a next level. But but the number of players that they that they currently move even to college and and, like I said, you know there's a lot of good players that just can't find due homes right now. And and with all the great dthree hockey out there that these kids are playing in front of all the wonderful schools that are out there, the footprint of the League just lends itself to that, which is which is a great thing as well. It's more division two and division three schools in the Dne right now and but with that, you mentioned coaching a little bit. Let's talk about yourself, because you play the air force and then relatively shortly after you return there to be a coach. was that always kind of your mind there just how it played out? Well, yeah, I don't know if was my mindset. You want as long as you and but when you when you finished playing in you're looking for that that competition and the the camaraderie that, I guess over the years I figured out you can only find in a locker room. The next best thing to playing is coaching and I was fortunate enough to get asked to come back and coach here by Chuck Dellach, who was the head coach when I played here, and then during that first ten year here coaching, Frank Territory, who's our head coach now, is twenty fourth year, took over his first year. So I was on his original staff and and then when I left, I wasn't three or four years later that he asked and said Hey, if I can get you back, do you want to come back? And that was a no brainer and then we've been able to get it going since that point the earlys. We've had I think it's seven of the last eleven years we've been in the NCAA tournament. Three of those seven years we got to the to the grade eight and an overt are not an overtime, but a goal away from the frozen four. So we've had some good teams here.

I had the opportunity during that stretch as well to work for USA hockey from nine to thirteen with the with the American Development Model Program and that's where I where I got as close to comp work and some summer festivals and those type of things. But yeah, no, I've I've been fortunate to be able to do this. Well, you bring up frank obviously he's well known in the college hockey world and he's had some some some great press conferences over the years. We don't need all the stories. Well, let's let's hear one or two that you'll always remember with Frankie. Yeah, I mean most of them. I probably can't. You're I could tell you a bunch, but you know what he does. He's one of the smartest hockey guys around. The success that he's that he's had here speaks for itself. And but so he does. He has he has fifteen or probably twenty kind of quick little phrases that he has in his back pocket that come out over the course of every season. But then what's amazing is there's another fifteen or twenty that that just in the moment, on the spot, he brings up that that brings the whole room down or our coaches down when we're in a staff meeting or something. And Yeah, nobody can, nobody can control a room or or keep people's attentions like frank for sure. And you're right, his press conference is invariably there's three to five of them every year that that make their way around on social media and just help that, help that that legend grow. Is there ever a time when he comes off one of those or has a phrase what you just hit to yourself, I could never have seen that one coming. There are, and that's kind of what I meant. Having been around them for as many years as I've had. There's a bunch, there's a bunch I've heard regularly, but then there are just some others over time that that he comes up with out of the blue. That speaks, speaks to how witty and and smart and and just how quick he is. And for you guys, you're in the Atlantic hockey conference. I want to get back for one last subject here with with with the COVID pandemic that we're working through as a country, and obviously you probably heard about it through luke. How our schedules are are constantly changing. I'm sure it's similar for you guys at the Division One level and you already have what's pretty much one of the most unique travel scenarios of anyone in Division One hockey. As a coach, how do you balance your team, keep them level, head headed and understand we're going to travel, there's going to be ups and downs, there's going to be cancelations. How do you deliver that message? Yeah, and that's in. That's really just as you described. We just had to push that to the for early and it sounds Cliche, but we just had to tell him expect the unexpected, like I told the guys one day or early on. You know, Noah Kim, he's a defenceman for us. I'm like, no, have you played forward? Well, you just might end up because week of our guys, how many we might have available, how many were not going to have available, and we really pushed it to the for that just expect the unexpected, come to the rink every day ready to do the work and with a great attitude and if we stick together, will we will find our way through this. We've been fortunate to this point where we've only had we've only had two of our thirty guys get covid and it was early on, before the season started. I say lucky, I'm not sure that's so lucky. Like at that age group where nothing really is happening to the players who do get it. There may be an advantage to some of the teams that have had it run through eighteen, two thousand and twenty two of their guys because now they don't even have to test for, you know, for five months down the road and they know what guys they are...

...going to have week to week. But it's certainly a challenge. But we're just happy because, you know, your league got off the ground, which was fantastic, right up until college hockey kicked off second or third week in November, like even a week prior to that, it was touch and go with the teams. We're going to have games, and so I think all of us, coaches, players, SID's communication. Folks like you, like we all just want to do our job and the players want to play and so I think I think we're fortunate to this point that you know the Games we have had. We're thankful we've had and hopefully there aren't too many hiccups, you know, in the second half here for us in in for your league as well, for all the junior leagues. I think that's the big message. Be Thankful for what we've done so far and we'll we hope to do in the future. So I appreciate you coming on the PODCAST. We appreciate your support of our league. It's pretty awesome to have a division one associate head coach whose son is in our league. Obviously you have a great connection with both now of our for our most two most recent coaches of the year, and we can hope that I can have you on again this podcast and hopefully when I'm out of the CCM showcase we'll get together. Yeah, no, appreciate it, Neil. Good luck the rest of the way. Thank you. Thanks again to Joe Doyle for coming on the podcast this week. Awesome message from him to our players and our coaches. He's the associate head coach at Air Force and his son plays for the seahawks hockey club. So at a great message from him. Happy to have them on the PODCAST. But with that, let's bring in the e crew. Guys, we are I don't know how this happened, but we're basically at Christmas first. Yeah, we already we passed what is Christmas? So it's Christmas time now. Like how did we get here? I don't know. Like a long year, hasn't and like there's put there's games in the year that I remember and stuff like when the avalanche lost of the Warriors October first. That feels like it took place two years ago. M Like when Jeff and I call the game like that feels like six, six feet apart. At the avalanche versus D is opening, that feels like forever ago. Yep, sure does. That was just what September, September eighteen, and it feels like, well, it's been what four months or so? I get those. That time period has taken a year's off my lives. I mean I don't have three hairs that you can see right here, but they're starting to grow a little bit. We're all gonna have grey has. I said, that's tough. You're only twenty nine, you already have gray hair. She's Hey, watch it, they're heartless. So they sappily, happily married to the beautiful Vicki Rabins. So she's actually just said said if it w o break two. She said, can I have three days? A fair trade? Three days? Three days, three days, you can really, I think. I think I get shut it down for three days. But we're not quite there yet. The first voice you heard. We do have a fantasy draft one night. Yes, true, Gel fats, is true. That that's Jeff Mills. Jeff, you have now called two games in my place at the wizards and you pointed out not good. there. Owen two of those two games. But the question is, the question is, do we ever try and call a game there together? Well, first of all, the platforms. That's a fact her of like today I dodged three bucks. There were slow moving, you know, saucer type ones, but I did a quick who stuck my head in too far. You. Hey, yeah, Jack Joe, you look good today. Snap a couple of twigs to mof he's from pissed. He's gonna give jail sticks and call and get us some more sticks. Like just stick to sponsoring us. Jack will be on the horn momentarily, John Lonsbury. But yeah, I think we might need a...

...break the Mojo because, I said at the top of the broadcast, this is the second ever non Neil Raven Wizards broadcast. We didn't do so hot the first time. Six three rangers over the wizards. Let's try to break the mold the second time and for three in overtime. They lost and absolutely great, lady. I'm sorry everybody, after being up three nothing in the first period. Yes, that was a tough defeat for coach Bildy in the whizz. He's on wizy Wednesday. But yeah, it's such a good transition, Jeff, because before we started recording, Brittany our ranks out of porter. Britty hard said I have to give a good introduction, which I was just going to say. You pick the wizards, I pick the SEAHAWKS. I picked right, but I'll give us. I'll give a better introduction because I don't know if Jeff has been there yet. I know Kyle has some but kyle will want to make this trip. You went to Antony Kent. Oh my Gosh, what? Yeah, uh, that plays all right, Kyle. You like pizza and Tonio's bet to in Wester Hi. We're too chee's. Sorry, this is kind of Frag a little bit, a little bit, but this place fire boy go unbelievable. It's your like. It's like seven minutes from the rink and what sure it is. I could have enough good things to say. They did not have my avocado tomato pizza. Was a little upset. It's a slice, bar so, you like. You name it. It's on a slice right like even, like she does. Is probably on a slice like they had every terrible no, she does, is not. I got a white Pete. I had white pizza. HMM, she know, pizza sounds like something I would do, me and myself. That's a wide variety of food choices that I put on pizza. Sauce and cheese and red pepper flakes. That's about it. Maybe Pepperoni, sausage and PEPs. Yeah, let's go. But this was all a great transition with the pizza, because welcoming and calm. I Ken an our e show beat rider. Kyle, you dubbed this past Friday as the cheese steak review versus the Pizza Review. Thoughts on the reviews again or thoughts on the game between the eighty sevens and the little flyers? Of course. Well, I have. I have to give credit towards due. I actually was suggested, talking to someone from the Philadelphia Little Flyers Organization, organization, that it was the cheese, steak verse Pizza Review. So I was kind of curious if some guys are going to be chirping each other on the ice like Ay, our review is better than yours. But once again, you know the sevens. You know they come back with a vengeance after a regulation loss and you know, I think they just they proved their their death right. I mean it did nothing seems to feace them. I guess this is what I'm getting at. So yeah, about this season. Nothing at all around one. Our break now with a few other teams, which moves us into our segment of around the show. It's time for this week segment of around the e show and around these shows brought to you by the junior hockey podcast. You're over junior hockey news, knowledge and nonsense. Check them out at tjh podcastcom as I mentioned there. I want our break. After dropping their first loss in regulation to the apple core, they played three games this past week took care of business. One all three hit the break. How good is this team? At Eighteen? Wanted to lead the league and goals for and I think in talking to them they haven't solidified who is if they had a playoff game, who their goalie would be? No, they have no idea. A P whool in the squad have no clue. Then that's also that that's a good problem to have a time, right, I don't think it's the worst thing. You could be other people who have no clue who you should start in the goal, but they don't have that problem. I think they probably would go with Coopak if any game was today, right, because...

...he I think he played one the last two or two, three. I believe so. But they think, yeah, well, corner played against little flyers. Was that? Yes, go back at the I want to cook. I got a shot out one recently. Yes, I believe so. Do you know this stat about? I think Brittany knows this. Do you know this? That about Jeremy Carnar? That's not very wellknown. Kyle Educa gave me Jerry. Jeremy Connor spent two years at the EHLP level with the Levens Jeremy Conner develops the eighty seven way. Jeremy Connor is the winningest goalie and EHLP history. Yes, thirty nine wins in two seasons. Wow, she'll be is that? That could have been a tribute question you. Well, I mean neo, how it can be save. It's he was paid it. There's another one that you could do. A recent commit Johnny Alphabet, as as Jeff likes to say that. I mean I get reamed une for saying it's so. I would so next, and corner likes it. Corner thinks it's funny. Yes, so with that Trivia question, Kyle, you can say I'm Drucalo. Johnny Malon, Drucalo. What is? What's the record that he sat in the EHLP goes for in a season? Fifty, higher, sixty three, sixty's the teams? That kid, who's that other kid? That was Yuck Long, a long time ago, the Yngling, I don't know which one it was. Rendon the yengling. Yes, he holds. He holds the record for points in a single season EHLP. But your say a hundred and thirty two holes. I think that was the first year we were in Providence. Is it not? Was it not? Because he was not at the banquet? That's all I remember. No, he was at the banquet. Remember I handed him the backpack and he held it up backwards. No, actually don't. And like the logo was on the other side and I was like, dude, no, turn it around. No, I don't. All right, I'm kind of no, I don't know how. I don't remember. I think professor sneak like. I was like, but the ehl logo with on the other side. You gotta cut trying to Brita, try to shut the brand buddy round the brands. But we've covered the eighty sevens. We know they're in first place, we know what their lade is and we've talked about this a lot. And not too many games took place this past week. But you look again down the standings, the point totals team Maryland, twenty two little flyers, Twenty One rob riders, twenty chiefs who've been off for a while, nineteen eighteen for the ducks. Apple Court are at thirteen, but I want to say they got most of those thirteen recently. Oh yeah, like I we know who the little fires added. We probably would all say that they are the second best team right now. But there's a few of these other teams, like like team Maryland had little fishould have had their number for most of this year up until that seven to four victory the other day. Oh Sare me and a lower fly and firing up in the bad way for that one. There's just it feels like there's so many teams that we keep saying. We're like, who are you? They've all as we kind of mentioned in the beginning of the broadcast. Its feels like it's been a long season, yet we've only played most teams twenty games. Twenty one, I think, might be the most right now. But the Maryland's no three and seven in the last ten. But they've gone through stretches where they were the hottest team in the Mac and now not so much. But there's still in the second place. So it's it's just there's so I was talking with coach Anibonia after their seahawks win today and he agreed that it's a lot like last year that there's just there's a lot of good teams in the League. There's not a lot of bad teams and that's why you're seeing all these teams with so many points, since why the standings are so tight in both the north and the south.

Yeah, and you look like we know who more people are not than who we are. There's a lot of questionsow that should be an instagram quote. It's a bully. Good Point, waste Tyler, is that your quote of the week? Is We also hot? Was Built side? Know? Sorry, I need to know. Bills. You know, fire clapping on the bench? Was He clapping on the bench? I've had to bend. That's pretty his favorite thing. Right. Each coach has their like. Kiss we do, like rich does the arm up thing. Ah, crazy fires, the rich, Oh rich, we are narrow. Dicaprio, I'm calling you all right now, I'll take take your the Fal Away Ridge. I'm a little little displaying rich, but anyway, sorry, continue. We is. What do you do? You can go. You know he's gonna. He's gonna tell rust in the world's let's do it. Come on. Kind of want to. I don't want to say sorry. We're got to be positive. We're got to move past things. Like you can start the plot. It's fine. Stir it. Rich is good, he can take it. He's obviously in first place up north. You look at the top three teams in the north they've combined to win seventeen straight games. You good and and the losses. I mean, obviously Walpole dropped that one game to valley, but they hadn't drop that game, the only losses they would have had would have been when Walpole and in the rangers been up on that home and home weekend. So I think it's clear that those are the other three top teams in the New England conference. Obviously you can kind of draw a line in the standings and what's interesting is those these coaches. They watch each other and they watch each other's games like crazy. Boy Do we know that. I'm like the one that I've heard a lot, and this is not the closet wizards fan and me talking, but a lot of people are asking me why the wizards record is what it is and I don't know what to say. Like they're sick. I said this lately. They've fit. They're figuring it out in typical whizzy fashion. Are they the hottest in the start of the season? No, it's not a secret. Sorry be be mad, I don't care. It's not. See mentioned that on the broadcast ones. Listen the pieces are clicking. Connor Blanchet had a billion points today. I think he's astlete filthy. That kid's gross. He's not want any party committed to an e scax. School kids filth like real easy work for you too, for top late freak second goal are. That's what cory good job. Who Hey, it was the goal of the year. I was like, okay, Dudei all man Corey's face. He turn looked to me, just goes like literally looked up to the heavens, just like wow. Everyone was just like, Oh my God, I can't wait to watch it now. He came down the wing way too much open space. I know bill would agree with me. Top of the face on circles this wrist shots sniped it top shelf, over the blocker side of the rid. Actually did have the video one for that. You are right, I did have the video one for that. But, like, I was in the middle of like saying that we need to like, you know, write our w's the right way. I think in mid kindergarten zooms. So like, I don't really know. Only they're so Jev I was watching the game, but I wasn't watching, I was only listening. It's basically what she just said. Oh God, drinking bees, and then the and then the puckle like this, and then ever was liked and I was like that happen right there, someone on, something, one on. But you look at you look at there. I know they're one and nine in their last ten, but you look at the losses. Three goals, two goals, three goals, two goals, three, two, one, one, one. They're in these games right. Not all pay like it's a balance here. I think it's like a combination of I was gonna say. I think it's a combination. That's clear. You off the old. Some Games you're getting the goal scoring for you not in the goaltending, and then vice versa. I think it's a matter of like can we get both in the same day? Also looked amazing today. He stopped a penalty shot on Murphy at when the game was three three.

It was a debated call on the captain, Jack Joanso, for slashing. You've went into the box to sit and then kanden comes in will kingden, the head referee, and takes him out and course like what are you doing here? Not called the penny goes. No, I'm called penalty shot. He was like what called penalty shot? He's like, yeah, he stopped his motion alswhere like Oh, that just went from penalty to no penalty to penalty shot and also came up big. It was three three, made the big save. Kept a three three when it's overtime. So I mean he's made he made some really good saves today. It's just kind of I don't know, it's maybe the balance of getting just enough scoring and just enough goaltending all together, maybe not getting too much of your getting too much of one of the other in a lot of these games. And all right, coach mills, we see you, we see you. Oh, but I think it's a good point because you'll look at the goalies for the three teams ahead of the seahawks. Didn't I need I need I almost said I need a map. I need this. Palmer, Eric Bockholtz, George, George, like curious, like and I know just unbelievable that George didn't have a good game today, but they've had stellar seasons. Goaltending, to compare to baseball, goaltending is like pitch right. Create can never have enough. You can never have enough and like that avalanche game I called today, I have to share this quick story with with Jeff. I know a Jeff will love this because Dan spilensky drumming on the broadcast, Robert Martinell's high school friend, kid that goes to Oklahoma state, wants to learn more about broadcasting and he was trying to learn the names quickly as we were going and he called Sergey and Nishim off, Sergey Sampson off. Oh, Sergey Samson off, late, s Bruin, Brewin and Carolina Herre, who's they look ten. Yes, he looked at me was like yeah, I just totally got the bruins player in that one, but he was. He was awesome. For sory Sampson off was this mad awesome like her fourteen. Yes, like see on the oilers team that went all sudden went to the cup and like Oh six, I think it was. I think he was on that. He was like one of those late season additions, although I'm really Elli prospect by anything EP again the end of his career. Popular belief. I don't spend all my free time on EP. Justin's gonna love this segment. When he listened. Know he is they dye. How are you N to this? Brother? Jersey, right here, right in the two thousand and five six season. Yeah, I think that was the year that they were like a yeah, theyve the eighth sea, they went to the cup. Yeah, they put it coming on the Potts, the Carolina Hell, Ye, most rangers. It's like kind of sad. They would have to. We'd have to like almost trick him into coming on the PODCAST, like can do oh, he's going to zooms me, like, what's going on? We're recording. We can do it's ready. Go any we can do it. Well, yes, I agree, we can do all right, Jesse, get ready, Justin come on, buddy. We need you. The crew needs you, but fans need you. Did you look at that box score from today? From any of you? From what? No, wolves ample. The only name I looked to our was ardem to see if I got any fantasy points. As being selfish, literally, the only thing being honest for the podcast is fantasy. I was like, Oh, artem, artem, artem, great, thank you, next star'm moving on. It's all I did. Like what's a very busy second period on you? Oh, she's some Christ hotly. The nine goals. Nine goals. There was there was two games context, but it's more about the goals, right, because I scrolled my pass up, like you be my first period of five goals with the wizard seahawks. So I thought that was a big period. Nine gold and like I was like trying to keep try, try to track the penalties, and I think what I learned a lot about looks like I learned a lot about the wolves that like it does not matter how many they're down by, they keep going. Like that's the second time this season I've called an avalanche game...

...where they were at one point down by three goals, where they've dug back into the game and then I got a lot of scoring power. I mean, I mean Jeff, I see my boy Donny Philibin, like we talked about, like all your goalie picks, like Donny Felmi, gets three points tonight, every night, every night, like morning. You look at the other day. Oh, did he donny felt the in the Mike? Yeah, I didn't listen to it, obviously, so I was at works. I couldn't listen, but but he's no Alex Herman, Alex Herman, I was saying Alex by the Boys Dud. He is amazing. He's gotten he was good last year we had them on the PEA showcase. Yeah, I had him on the Games with me and he was very good, very solid. But this year I was like, Dude, what the hell? I've done hundreds of hockey games and you sounds like I feel like he sounds better than I do. Like I was like holy yea, it's a great job. Who Goes Good? So speaking it, speaking of broadcasters, the game winning goal for the express over the seahawks in over time I've had a lot of text come in about that like what did he say? What is he saying? How did how do you decipher? That's what he's saying. I go, well, he texted Jeff and said that he was saying a fat elk binging on rodents, and then everyone elis text back. It says it doesn't sound like that. I go well, he confirmed that's what he's saying. So I don't know what to tell you. We said I thought it was an owl, elk, elk, I was an elk. I thought it was an kill. Is that why you've been using the Ale a Minnesota hold that way thinking? Is that why you've been is that why you've been using the owl more in the group text is yeah, Oh my God, we' gonna get the Ol. Why? Because because Jeff said to me, why is Kyle on this owl now? Will kick no present owl. Be Like it was not an owls and L to owl text messages. That's it. But he's like where did the owl he did hit way of the OWL come from? And I was like I, yeah, thought it was an owl binging on whatever. When the ELK help no ANIMALSNESOTA boy, one hundred and two, three and I think it Helc is a Minnesota thing. Want to eisvery see. I know it's an animal that's everywhere. I know I'm happy for Jim. It's a fine call, but like that's a lot of steps to figure out why he said that. But because he's in myself, I yes, Jim does listen. We say hi to Jimmy Cabe at home. Do a great job, you listen. So we're saying hi to him and Jim. So for anyone that doesn't know Jim's stick, he does his own version of what Randy Mohler used to do for far panthers. Not Think really is rainy the ringside guy now I don't think he calls. I don't know, but have you. That's just so you. I know you've watched the cost Oh dude, we still watch those in college. Oh my God, to send one of the group at one time like he does. He has a lot of movie quote. So, like one time I had a game wheneer and he gets yelled the meat low, but it's like that's anything to do with the game. When you go to just happen in the NHL game. And the best thing is, wasn't all these random flight appreciate. Oh, Kyle, you'll are you've heard radymore right now? Definitely have. I just I can't put a fast to the voice, if that makes sense. All. Just just go back and listen to only YO CONNAH LA, face one, don't booty. Yes, like, yeah, that's been set in the group chapter. Yeah, I mean every broadcaster has their stick right. Everyone says that Animan. What's this thing? I mean there was two frozen files ago, Kyle, when I said that there was a soft dump in the corner. That one over, that went over pretty hysterically with a number of people that are watching at home. Like soft call by big as.

Never heard this story. I said. I said he takes a soft dump in the corner and I know I on the air and eff didn't even catch it on the air. And then it was that when you were doing it with your friend. Was the color call. It was you. It was the first movie. It was the first year that we did it. Think it's like that. And someone just said that they pause that. Someone text me and said that they pause the game to clean that up. I was like that they do. What is it, George? Did George say that, like it was George's problem? Yeah, I'm so good. That's incredible. I towards George, looks get up. I must have been doing the PA than because I feel like I would have looked to you. I like you really just sit. I feel like I then we would to pull started laughing and then it would have been over to yes, a hundred percent. We would have had tried to find a way to mute our stuff with then people will be wondering where the where the call was at the action. But it happens. It happyes is so obviously not a lot of games left in the ehl between now and the holiday break. How many is there? Not a lot like that. Maths not a lot. Also, I'll tell you right now, because I have to probably heat. Look quick, this is dropping on Thursday, like a typically does. Seven when the well, I got to delete one of those because of the snowstorm that's coming. So, yeah, not a lot of games. All the teams already are on break. And what's funny is, like, I shouldn't say funny because we're going to start working on the second have schedule here later on. Last week and the coaches said when can we play next? Well, January first. It's where you late. I mean, I don't want you to play on Christmas Eve. I don't want you to play on Christmas. If you want to play January first, go ahead here, stay, let's play. Thirty PM, Turkey, whatever, thanksgiving. Who? Yeah, Oh, what, yeah, pm, sorry, night, right, sorry, herfe. We say so. Well, just playing. See where there's no curvy. Come on, New Year's even going to ring in the New Year within the e show. Turkey, Trot, Turkey, whatever, days giving, throw down, showdown, who don't know her if you're late, doing US people. So yeah, Joe wrote. Game at thirty on new years eve just fallen through. PN My hypothetically, are we gonna pause the game at one thousand, one hundred and fifty nine and so no, what let's click the horn. Click the horn as shaking of the horn. I had to go find this. Also, in one of those wallpole versus seahawks Games, the scorekeeper accidentally hit the horn. I've done that. I did that at Bjr two weeks ago and rich looked him stopped the play. What's funny is like when the music keeps going, the kids don't slow down when you hit the horn. It's like what was like? I didn't and so bad and the rest skated over. He's like it's like, what did you just say? Hello? He's like, did something happen? I was like no, I just like trying to get my skintles like Jesus Christ. So I guess he I guess she hit the Horn and cody scored and called cody call me afterward. I was like if we were down, I would have lost my mind. I was like the pretty you're fired off this one. I will score. Only I did that too during. I think I also did it during. I did I think I've done I think I've hit the horn at every rangers game. I've scored. Kept score keeps I don't know what the verb would be. Whatever kept sound, score kept sounds weird. Core Right, whatever. But yes, I did do that at Cody's game and he was like. I was like the best one ever, though, best one ever. There was a wizards game a few years ago mid, like mid rush up ice. The national anthem to starts blaring and they don't do the national anthem at the end. No, and like everyone's like do we stop? Do we keep going like that? Jim Jim's fooled me a couple of time. That's the second time, obviously, I've called the wizards game since the...

...wizards existence and it got me again today. I was tick no product on the happen. That's right. All right, hey, what's up everybody? Yeah, we've honestly, a lot of our teams have. It's not unpatriotic of our league. We've been. We've been skipping it for I mean there's been a number of massive they've done it for time purposes, just like because these ranks are so strapped to stay like right on time, because, you know, covid watching out the window at thirty PM. But I just all jokes aside, that's the curfew that Baker as in place and and we have to we have to respect it. So it's you know what, like a lot of people have said, like what, what are you most proud of here as you hit the winner break, like we're going to be at about forty five percent of our season completed at winner break. Like wait, that's like a little sad, like this time last year, like it's almost over. Low Key, low key, low key. Yes, he work, Lokey. Yeah, I think it's a processful. You know, it is, it is. We're cruising. We are cruising. Neil and I had one of our like breakdown of the days the other day. Remember when I was wrapping gifts? Yes, yes, and like that was the thing last year. Would, I would, I would go to wisy Wednesday, every Wednesday and it wasn't a time right. You know, this is a first time all season we have caught up and we have gone through the day and it was incredible and I don't like a new person afterwards. Yeah, it's the scheduling stuff. This year has given me just such an appreciation for it because, like it's not just show up and here's the game. You have to have the trainers, the broadcaster, where it fits on the ice scheduled, the officials the scorekeeper, you name it, and like we equipment to broadcast, like, like, yes, it's it's like there are so many steps to this and we've probably scheduled like a hundred and twenty percent of our schedule because we've had to cancel or rearrange that much. But just while it feels like we take two steps forward in the step back, we're still taking a step forward. I know we are, and we're eventually going to get to the finish line and I don't know when that will be, but if but it'll be coming soon. When it'll be, where it'll be? That's all right, that's that's as I like to say, that's a tomorrow problem. Fair. That's been my thing lately. I've been saying money full it quotes. Was it Mark Twain and bought a pretty's party order the body tile. There's your quote of the week for this week, quarter of the week next my next week after and all the time I'll have a quote. I have a quote during a fantasy. Don't worry. Are you want to go to fantasy? You're so excitedly, can I what place anyone's in? Yeah, Kyle's funny story. Go One, two, three, sorry and through tears, Britt so, that's a pod. We all after less we podcast. You know, I guess I was, quote unquote, whining. I'm screaming, I'm screwing, I'm screwing already know. I was just going, Oh, I guess I'm a winer. But so a parent contacts me. It's General Pete Phillips. The KIG follows me on twitter, as me on Facebook, messages me, says hey, but quit whining. We're friends on facebook. Now family, that family is. You know what? If I responded to him, I said are there? I actually I responded back to him. I don't think I said Hey, I was a general Phillips. I've been waiting for this day for quite some time. So if that's sobered their families, elite the I think you impressed him, Kyle, and you press got out to Captain Phillips himself. I have an idea, a content...

...idea so that this young gentleman should contact me Abe involve okay, so let's go fantasy before we wrap things up. Here's what to watch. More this week in the east show, it's time for the e group fantasy challenge, brought to you by BERTUCCI's brick I'm Ben Pizza and pops at your home for authentic Italian dishes, catering and group dining. Check out their party pizzas and specials at bertucciecom. Okay, I'm in the last place. Wait, what? Wait, I don't even know if the standings are. I had no clue what the points are, because it will the body have fallen. Okay, hold on, last place. I'm happy. Hold on a second. I have three hundred and twenty six total points, which includes a hundred and ten point eight during this month ish of the fantasy challenge, where we incorporated the All star teams. Have meal from the South hasn't played. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven of my players have not played a game. Wow, and you hundred ten points, so you should get hold on, hold on ready. A hundred and ten points, thirty two of which have been from Zack Simon. Yeah, that kid thesis. Second, another Simon, said, other school. Another eighteen point two. So combined fifty points from Zack Simon and Eric Clay Buckles, nice like. So that's totally drandom. WALPOLE FANDOM is saying get up meal, half of my half of my hundred and ten points. Almost is coming from Walpole, red train baby, and my Guidin is smiling somewhere. Yes, just like my plan for all of you. Before we get to your points, is I'm going to meet with Justin to discuss how we're going to handle fantasy for January and February, continuing with full rosters. Okay, so that I can tell you, guys, the plan next Thursday, which will be actually a Christmas Eve edition of the Podcast, Oh my God, Fun, and then we will draft on like the twenty eight, twenty nine or whatever, and then announced the January lineups on what will be a New Year's Eve addition of the podcast. Oh my Gosh, oh my God, so good to while we're so while I'm playing my New Year's Eve edition game, me and my squad don't know who it's going to be yet. This is like the year of the Thursday, thanksgiving Thursday, years eat or sorry, Christmas Eve, year's evel Thursday. So it'll drop on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve. On Christmas Eve we are going to reveal how we're going to adjust our lineups for January and February. On here's Eve, we're going to announce our January lineups like I was heading ending towards. No more subs. We just add a player each position and that's our full lineup, right. Are we still recording on Wednesday but then dropping it Thursday? Yes, okay, Gotcha. Do you need to check your schedule? No, I was just second count. I was like I was trying to remember everything I want, as Monty, gonna make my line chart. Oh my God, sorry, I'm just making sure we could maybe do something with that there, Daddy. Actually kind of funny. Be Kind of funny make an actually watcher send it to you and then and then actually, Justin Hi, please help us. Continuing on with a hundred and sixty seven points so far through this fantasy challenge and three hundred and fifty six total. It's the Kyle Michael Leva McKenna squad. That's a name like how leva is legit. Yes, he five old round her, third of the League and scoring. I think he's third the League and scoring. Yeah, five goals, seven assists, five power play points, a game winner. That's thirty five of Kyle's points. Painting Ay in...

Multiple Durans with to win win today, two wins, a hundred and sixty six S. even when he doesn't win the game, he's making thirty staves. He has twenty seven. Had Forty three shots today. Yeah, he has some. Twenty seven point two points for kyle. And then how we're going to figure out who gets to steal this sub from Kyle is the biggest one, because Nathan Mueller has three wins and he shot up four goals against. I shut out eighty seven saves, like thirty one, Ja Ah Yah. So thirty five for Michael Leva, twenty seven point two for Peyton Duran, thirty one point four for Nathan Muwelert. That's that's absurd. You are you just said it before. We talked about this in baseball, but you can never have enough pitching. Yeah, and hockey you can never have enough. Yeah. Well, I mean look at this. One went goalie with my one. Yeah, yeah, seriously, like Kyle's got fifty eight point six points from his goalies. I have one thousand eighteen twenty. Literally probably have less. I'm not even kidding. I definitely have last actually, I still need column bellow to play. Yeah, Cud Kylele himself to as as one player who hasn't played, one player injured, two three, four, five players and stuff to have him played so you would deal folk. So so now we transition kyle to the teams that are playing for Brittany and Jeff and to pret these point her googlie points, hair, literal garbnch not not total garbage, okay, but the today's game and great is game against the ABS, in the other game against team Mariland, didn't help me. Yeah, I'm sorry. You have. You have twenty six point four total from your goalies. Shocked once, so bad. One ess for and I kind, one hundred and seventy nine point for overall, your total is three hundred and fifty seven point two. So one point two higher than Kyle. But the condit, the consistent thing, is thirteen points for your Suda, twenty one for Young, eleven for sea wagon, nineteen from Monaschenko, nineteen for shaper, yes, I sorry, twelve for Ryan Webb, Fourteen for George Wheener, fifteen for Jack Johansson. And if, like, honestly, all your players, if all your players weren't healthy and active, connor bazols got you nine so far, I think that total would be at like twenty nine. Yeah, let's not talk about so that's that's the kind of why I need to talk about this whole sub we part of it. Forget. We've talked about this, but I forget. One player, not gonna name drop, hasn't got me a single point. Can I dish him out or what? Well, you have actually three player or okay, I'm thinking of one in particular who's got me nothing and Im won't make my comments that I would like to. Can We dishim out at all? I mean you fair shows. We will. We will discuss with Justin. Okay, we'll have a la vote, a crew vote, and then what's killing me when I put these stats in is every time there's a boss score, Jeff gets a goal, but because Lorenzo markle and just lights it up. Exact sigment, not even he. I'm on the way worlds. Will you train scree? Hold on, no, I thought I haven't. I don't have. Marcolina, you know all right now everyone's been you're playing. Yeah, sorry, last time I checked, team were actually there was cooky tag me in another tweet. Tug we end of the tree it was. There's one one player that isn't playing for you right now, Davis Bone. So marcoleen has been couched. He's missed a foust also. So at meat. That's what you get quite the other day. Think I'm Minson. I mentioned Kyle and Michael Leva.

How about a goal, eleven assists and to power play points for Donnie Feldman, Donny Album, I'm man, I gotta buy the seers for four wins for Mickmichael, thirty point two points. Three wins for Palmer. Twenty one point eight points. He gets to put his sub in, Yaku Kubacan, for a game once. Seven point six points, like even the other little ones that that just add up right, like Andrew Staffera has ten points for Jeff. Jason Riscouci has eleven points for Jeff. Sure, seen for Justin soliven recent commit to Guss Davis, Adolphus. And let's see, there's glind dead and Stewart. Gotta goal this week. Everyone except for one do well, everyone except for one player has played for Jeff, but he also has a few goose eggs, Brittany. But like the key is, Jeff has two hundred and one point six points. Yes, since thanksgiving. Wait, I have a question. Can you please read the totals, like not not just from all star get up grand old from yes please. Jeff, four hundred and one. Okay, Brittany, three hundred and fifty seven, point two. This one is to hear my name. Second, I'm good now. Hi, Kyle, three hundred and fifty six. Your deal, three hundred and twenty six. But what I will say is like, once David Ducey starts going for me, guys, it's over. Yeah, right, chill shows, it's not over. You'll just be joining the four hundred club with the rest of us. Yes, exactly, she's or six club to Williams. Okay, okay, I'm so second, see it. First is the worst. Second is the best. Say Ka kindergarten vibes. I have here that so many times. Its friend for days on are do so. If you couldn't tell, right, Mike, Firsts were seconds fast. Honestly, yeah, you right, six year olds. Yeah, that is the best. Let's go do it. Great, Jeff, Jeff, as long as Neil started first place, everything is okay. Really, he was all season along to we did this and then really, yeah, that's why we're getting the that's why we're getting a recount. That's where we're getting enough. We gotta change up to set up everyone nails and last we gotta change it up. Really now I'm getting accused wanting to rig the sit you know, I'm the meals and cheater. That's we're just trying to be as Bill Bell and Jackie Cheat, I would say, deals to it. What we talk the frozen finals. Are Trying to take it a step up each time, step up still better. Last has made every hair on my neck stand up. Good. What frozen finals? The fact that I said deals with cheater like Bill Bell, Patriots are Oh God. Oh, that's where we go off the rails this week and I think this is I think this is a podcast this week where we start swearing at each other. No, being off the rails, I think. Well, Paul in junior brailers, two matchups coming up. Rain wors Blue Jay, who got you match us in the EHL. Three matchups in the EHLP. It's a big time. Red Train verse, Blue Train weekend to Cho peeps too, and those are actually the only those are the only three games in the EH L P. So you know, by the time, I think we have one game on Monday ehl. That's it and then we hit the break and I think it's going to be no break. I think it's going to be a week long breaker. So are you raising your hand? No, I was just hitting the gas. But Oh, I thought you you were pulling up Brittany and raising your hand. PODCASTS. No. Now I got some comments, though, for when the word recording goes away. I see the oaks are showscape. Show. If you did feel that Noise Ritter too pretty to go to see...

...the dentists, I'm gonna chip it to no, none of you would know this, but all right, maybe so. Jeff, your defenceman in railroad too smooth, dipped the living heck out of his tooth. The other day. So if any was going to the Dennis's row road, it is not. Sorry, row row. Sorry, he looks at hockey player. Listen and the isle, as I like to say, as much as the has shield may thank you. Guys. Have Good sty put the stop enough. You can't wear it in college while you wearing it in juniors. Yeah, worky. I don't want to hear about Tis Chet. Okay, well then, what you your old fault? It's not my that's not very well. It's well, but drown fools, and then you need Kyle's. But there it is, yes, right roundist Raven MD, take a ride, Kyleie, you know I have three straight quotes of the week to use. True. I'm on to Brittany. How could I be so hot? I actually play that so OK, the Greene Ned, you know, sweater, you know. But Anyway, folks, I think that's it for ever. I think we're all getting over tired. anyways, where we are going to drop the podcast on each eve coming up, Christmas Eve and New Year's even, Jeff, we will not fast and not be recording it on those days. Will be recording at the day before. And you said Tire Brain. I was just like the around the e show segments, I probably would say, are not going to be as long those ones. Those are going to be big time fantasy, big time fantasy leading into ten Biz, Twenty Promo Code Athletes Get up, leading into the second half of the season, which we're going to try and have that schedule out before Christmas here, so stay tuned for that. And, like I said, yeah, I mean Britti said this herself too. There's there's two mothers, two months of the regular season left and they're gonna go. They're gonna go fast. I know we're we're going to be at the postseason before we know it here, just like seeing the Newington showcases flashbacks on my social media as like Emo, so emo. That was such a good time. It was very good time enjoy the games this week. By the time we talk next week it'll be the holiday break. Yay, I'm ready. Thanks for listening to the show.
