On this week's episode we cover anything and everything, including a discussion on when things will finally return to normal. We also take our weekly trip around the league, followed by our next set of picks in the e crew fantasy challenge. But we keep things off first with Brendan Collins, the Director of Scouting for neutral zone and cousin of the legendary Travis Roy. I'm joy now by Brendan Collins, the Director of Scouting in the cofounder for a neutral zone. How's it going, Brendon? Good? Are Real good. Thank you for for coming on. The podcasts here a lot to dive into with you. I knew at some point I wanted to have you and maybe some other guys on from neutral zone. The timing of it, we're going to get into this has a lot to do with the passing of Travis Roy. That's one of the questions I'm going to I'm going to have for you. But let's kick things off for the fans at home. What is neutral zone? Yeah, neutral zone is a independent scouting agency. Basically, we have scouts all over North America. They go and watch players and you know, all leagues, from Fourteen Year Olds Up to twenty year olds, and we evaluate players. We rank players for four different drafts. We rank players for NCAA, NHL and basically everything in between. So that's that's in a nutshell, that's what neutral zone does. Basically scout players, provide evaluations and rankings and for the ehl we have in a normal year at least five, six, seven events you can always count on every day on the Scout Sun and sheet there's at least one title there for neutral zone. Is that something that you guys kind of set your goal on making sure that you hit every event that you can in North America. Yeah, I mean we have a our scouting staff. When we started the company had think six scouts and we've grown to, you know, over seventy now through men's and women's hockey. So yeah, we want to be at every major event. We want to have eyes on all these kids and it's important for us especially the showcase events because you know, if you want to cover say, twelve AHL teams, that means you got to go to six different games. That's a lot of work. If you can go to a showcase and see them all there during a weekend, see every team play two three times, that's huge. So the the business of hockey, I think, especially at the junior level, those showcases are even more important because at the youth levels there's a lot of showcases every weekend, but at the junior level the USHL has one showcase, the BCHL does one showcase, so having junior leags have multiple showcases really helpful to scouts. So let's put you on the spot then. I guess obviously it's challenging enough for us as a league to host an event. This year there probably aren't going to be that many showcases at all in any of the weeks across all North America. Do you guys? Are you forced then to watch more games and hockey TV? Yeah, I mean it's we're going to go to. We have to rely on live scouting. I mean not to say we're not using video, because we are, and we've added a video department for guys that live in areas that don't have a lot of hockey. So we've got some guys her pro former probe players and what not to live in Florida or live in Georgia and there's just nothing really going on there. So they're doing some video work and that's can be helpful. But I think what it's going to mean for us is a lot more boots on the ground. We have to hire more scouts, which we did, and just going a lot more individual games. As you guys have grown, have you seen an influx of people reaching out to you that want to be a part of neutral zone and want to scout for you guys? Yeah, it's funny. I mean every year I think we get more applications, but we've always had a lot of applications. Like scouting is a is a GIG A lot of people want to be in. But I would say the quality of the scouts have gotten better as our credibilities gotten better and we've just been in the industry longer. And then a couple weeks ago in the NHL draft we had Ian was on Spittin chicklets and after that podcast we had like a hundred and fifty people send emails like wanting to work with us and you know, most of them weren't people we would hire. But...

...we grabbed a few guys out of that for sure. And I'm not going to put you on this but too hard here. But I know obviously the role that Ian has for you guys is monumental. In that response right there. Are there other scouts? Obviously every scout is important, but there other scouts that you guys have, like Ian Moran, that attract more business your way, attract more people your way. Who Elst does that for you guys? Yeah, sure, I mean I think we have multiple and it's a very regional base thing. So for you, you know you in the northeast with the EHL, like our guys at best, singer Brian Murphy in Moran. Obviously, Mark Alatta, like these guys, are known hockey figures in New England. But if I go to Ontario, for example, Marla Mueller, Paul O'Hagan, these are big names in that region that may not know New England and the New England the Ontario people may not know you know Brian Murphy or best singer. So it's very regional set up. But yeah, we got in Minnesota we just hired three guys. Brent Cullaton, longtime pro, Ben Marshall and played at University of Minnesota, who's really well known just playing the Khl, and Stefan Williams, who was a goalie for Minnesota state and had a really good career there, played some minor pro. So yeah, I would say it really depends on the region that you're in. But yes, we have people like that throughout the company. No one quite as at Miran status. This is not just our hot gusts. Yes, is a much smaller podcast than's been chicklets. But see how Ian it's part of it. Part of it's his personality that he's just such a good guy and connectually well with the kids. But then the other thing is he's very credible because he played a long time in the pro and he really like, if you listen to his reports. They're funny and he gives that, but there's also a lot of really good knowledge in there from some of that really knows what it takes. Yeah, and and what I like about and getting to know a lot of your guys that I see him all of our events and a lot of the individual games, is I see a lot of comparisons at times in a way, between the EHL and neutral zone. So for the EHL, when it comes to social media or anything that we put out there, there's no ceiling. I could always get more followers, more likes, you name it. It feels like the same as for you guys a neutral zone. You can't get big enough. Is that a safe assumption? Yeah, probably. I mean I'm not as savvy on the social media stuff as as some of the others in our company, but I follow it for sure and we always seem to keep growing. So I think, and it's interesting, you know, markets change for us. Some years, you know, Minnesota's a hot market for us and then other years it's New England, some years it's Ontario and we just keep continuing to grow that base year to year. So yeah, I don't think there's necessarily a ceiling, though and one of the other connections that I have to mention Brittany Hart, who, as our ringside reporter, is also your social media manager. So the way that our two sides partner together is awesome for me, which is a big reason why I wanted to have you on this podcast. And I started the kind of allude to this earlier and I think I know the answer to this next question, but you know, when did you first really get that inspiration to launch newtral zone? A good question. Basically, I'd coach at the college level when I got done playing at Castleton University, and I just had a tough time with we played teams that were a lot better than us, almost to the point that I felt like I couldn't be like the top two or three teams in the League. So it's kind of like I felt like I was kind of treading water there. And then the other piece was it was frustrating to go recruit players and scout players and beyond them for say, eight months and then that the top perennial programs would come and grab them at the last minute. And you don't blame the kid. I mean, if I was a kid, I would go to those programs too, but it was it was kind of like a I just didn't sit well with me. But I really like going to the ranks. I liked evaluating players a lot more than I like the practices. So I went to USHR US hockey report. At the time. It was a scout for them and I loved it. And then I saw that the market was right for for a USH OAR and USA Char was very new, England based. So I want to take it and make it national and make it into Canada and whatnot. So got very lucky. Hired two gut two guys right from the GETTO Marlin Mueller and Brian Murphy, who are, you know, really well respected and have a huge background, and with those two hires we just took off. So so that that's kind of where it came but we want it. We also a big kind of I'm not the only owner. Steve Wilkes is the owner, really...

...the boss here, and while this was going on, his kid was playing at holderness and he was a good player and he was trying to figure out I go play Juniors after prep school? Should I go straight to college, and the whole market of that for Steve as a parent was like, I don't know how good my son is, like I don't watch him play and but I have no ideas. He had division three kids. He a tier one, tier two, tier three junior kid like you just don't know. So I think from him and him being the true leader of the company, his motivation was totally to give kids a realistic idea of where they stand relative to other players their age across North America. And you launched neutral zone and is taken off since then and, as I mesh before, I knew I wanted to have you guys on at some point here, whether it was you or Brian or even Steve on the podcast. The timing kind of all has come together here with the passing of Travis Roy, who you mentioned in a tree. You actually did a full tribute on him and in that article you mentioned how he was a little bit of an inspiration behind neutral zone as well. How many ideas did you balance off at him when you were first getting started? Yeah, no, for sure, Steve Really was the one who was pushing to do this, to go this route, because I was working for Steve Before this, but I didn't have the confidence, you know, I didn't. I knew what I knew. I knew I knew New England pretty well and a little bit of like eastern Canada, but I didn't know how the WHL worked, I didn't know a lot of the junior league. So I remember when I first called Travis to explain kind of what we're thinking of conceptually and he was just very much behind it. He was like, I think this is a great service, I think kids need this. And one of the things that was interesting that he really was pushing was these players that are hanging around for the for the Division One say dream and kind of playing in all these showcases and like leaving high school early. And Travis, just like some of these kids, don't have a prayer and play Division One. And not that you want to crush dreams, but if you just be realistic with people, like Hey, here's where you stand. You know you're a you're probably a bubble and sad three kid. You shouldn't be leaving high school early. You know you're like once you want to for this dreams. Of Travis was very supportive from the beginning and then since then it's monthly phone calls of kind of updating where we're at. What markets were in and I think for him he's just kind of interested in the in the whole hockey market in terms of, you know, the WHL draft. I think he thought that was crazy that they draft bandams. But like, I think he's just kind of very interested in it. So yeah, we had we've had times where we've had people approach us that wanted to buy our company or want to invest in things, and I always brought Travis and on those as a sounding board. And we've had times where there's been ideas of come up on different things we could do, including buying a junior team. There's one. There's a time where there's a junior team on the market that Steve was looking at and we called Travis and on that one. So yeah, he's been a huge support for us at neutral zone for sure. In earlier this season, Ryan Fru from the New Hampshire junior monarchs, I'm not sure how long you knew him. He passed away and we gave a little bit of a tribute for him on the podcast and I knew, you know my experience just playing in Travis Roy ice arena and in Maine. I knew I was going to talk about a little bit on this podcast, but then I come to find out your family relation, I'm like if brended wing to come on, this is perfect being his cousin. I'm sure a lot of our fans got to read that just amazing tribute that you wrote. Can you just talk more about the impact that he had, obviously on the full hockey community, but really on yourself? Yeah, sure, trav got me into the hockey. I mean that when we were my brother and I were eleven years younger than Trav. So at family events he'd have us all playing street hockey and we'd be chasing them all over the place and then we want to play hockey. Like my parents didn't play hockey, so they got us into it because Travis did. And we go to his his father's hockey camp up in Maine at Nya and and so like. That really kind of got our love going for the sport. And then, you know, we just watched him play Ali. My parents would take us every chance we could when he went to Tabor Academy, so we'd watch him play like Kway and from on Academy. We go watch those games. We watch him hockey, name Boston, back when that was like a big thing. And Yeah, so growing up that was like...

...our we just wanted to be like traveling with you know, everything we did. We said in the article. We taped our sticks like Travis, we had the same Jersey number. I mean we just we followed them tremendously. It's funny when he passed, my brother and I talked about how we can vividly remember trying to talk him into going to Uvm because that was close to where we are, where we are located. So and like we didn't know what the Hell Uvm I mean we didn't know anything. We just knew that like if you went to Uvm we could see him more. Yeah, and then, yeah, and then, as you know, obviously he had the accident and he followed our career. You know, we tried to you know, the same kind of hockey careers as he did. We tried, we didn't get there. Obviously he was very supportive through the whole thing to explaining, you know, when we were picking prep schools, he was kind of you know, explaining all. This is the plus. This is the minus. When we were in between picking colleges or going to juniors, he was very influential there. So they're just throughout the whole hockey career he was a major player in our experience and then obviously going into neutral zone, that that even further. That and, like I said, when I found out that you your cousins, what your cousins with him, I knew like this is perfect, it has to be running on this podcast. I have to dedicate this episode fully to him. When you saw all the outpouring of posts that came out on social media, everyone, you know, sharing their pictures of Travis, their autographs for Trout Travis, how did that how did that make you feel? Yeah, it is emotional actually. I mean we knew a couple weeks before that that Travis had just gone in for a big surgery and we, you know, I wouldn't say we went and set our goodbyes, but we went and met with Travis and we talked to him and, you know, everyone in the family not knowing how that surgery would come out. Then we had heard right after the surgery that surgery went smooth. So we felt pretty good, but he never since coming back from home after the surgery, just never was was right and the things weren't great on that and so you know, it's a feeling. I wouldn't say we were prepped for this, but we had a little more time and it wasn't a shock. But then when you know, when when it actually happens, it's obviously really emotional and the outpouring of support has been very emotional, and say not just for me but for my whole family. Boston. They little boss and skyline for Travis. That was meant a lot. And then a lot of people have come out on the hockey community and spoken and I'm trying to relate to my family what's going on in the hockey community because they know what's going on in the you know, a lot of his friends in the foundation and everybody else, but kind of give him the undercurrent of what the hockey community is and they've come out listen. They supported him big and his foundation. A lot of the money raised came from hockey people and people in the hockey community and when he passed, the support from the hockey community has been incredible and for him. I think what's just so amazing is, you know, it's something that everyone remembers. It just took eleven seconds and his college hockey career and his whole life change, but having that family connection. How quickly after that all happened, did you see that he it wasn't meant to be, of course, but the how quickly did you see that he was willing to take on this challenge and embrace it and become the inspiration that he was for his entire life? Yeah, that's I mean, that's a great question. I think. I think there's two phases for me of like travis the hero, and it was early phase when he was a hockey player. We just looked up to him for being a great hockey player. When he got paralyzed, I would say he was in the hospital for a long time and then his recovery was long. You know, let's say that's a year, that whole process. We go and see him in the hospital and we go and visit but like we didn't know, and I remember vividly waking up that morning and my mom saying, Hey, travis is paralyzed, and I was like I don't know what that means, like I don't you know. But you know, I'd say a couple of years after that it really started to hit us just how important his message was of being positive, having a great attitude and as I got older and older in my life, the more it meant to me of what you know, him going back to school and graduating, you know, physically being they're not doing it online or some kind of night school at going to class every day in a wheelchair. You know, he's only twenty one years old. That speaks a lot to his character, I think you know at that time and then when I worked for him as a night nurse in the summers when I was in college, I got to see it on a more of a personal level of just how much he goes through every...

...day. So I'd say the second phase of Travis Roy the hero, was you know how he responded to the to his circumstance, and he really was passionate about helping other people because he realized that when he got her, the NCAA insurance covered does a really good job of covering athletes when they get her in NCAA play and a lot of other people aren't that fortunate to have that kind of insurance or that background. It's very expensive to be a quadruplegic. So I think travel was maybe not the same passion had for hockey, but he had a real passion of helping people fight the disease and and to live a better lifestyle with, you know, simple home modifications whatever that his foundation provided. So yeah, and you touched on the night nurse duties that use took on in that tribute. I'm going to make sure I've mentioned a few times. I want to. I'm going to get that tribute back out our website as well, because I just thought there was so much in that, so many amazing stories that you told, and there was really one line that stuck out to me right at the beginning. And you mentioned now he was in a better place now out of his wheelchair, in skating again. Is that something that he talked about to you? You know I'd loved to skate again. Yeah, not to me. I mean the last time I saw travis was was before his surgery, so that would have been like two or three weeks before his actual passing. But my mom had been up there and obviously my so the relationship is my mom and Travis, his mom or sisters, and so my mom had been up there, you know, the day of his passing and his mother had indicated to mind that if he saw the light, he was going to skate to it. You know? So I don't. I think he was ready. I don't think it's something that he obviously wanted or but I think he was ready. He was at peace with it. And Yeah, I mean it just tough because, selfishly, I say this in the article, you don't want them gone because for for myself, is really I want someone to call when I need advise or, you know, my friend there. But but I think for Travis he isn't a better place. That's a really tough lifestyle. was just putting the putting him to bed takes a half an hour just to get him from the chair to the bed and then when he's in bed you have to do some things there as well. And then getting them up in the morning. To get them up is like a one twohour process. You've got different night AIDS coming everywhere he goes. Where he goes to Boston, Florida, Vermont, he's got to deal with a different staff. They're always changing. So it's actually you know, I think you see someone in wheelchair and you say, yeah, that's a tough life. It's probably even tougher than you realize. Yeah, and the end, I read the part you forgot to plug as we all share in that one night. He never felt any worse. Yeah, it's I don't the whole story is just amazing to read. I guess the one final point that I take away from Travis Froy is it seems like he embraced what it was and he was always positive. Did you feel that same way? Yeah, Trans Positive Outlook on things is pretty amazing. I can't tell you how many times I've been to events that he was talking at that he uses the words like I'm fortunate, I was lucky. I was, you know, talking about his insurance or talking about his right and everyone in the audience is thinking lucky, like what are you talking about? You know you should be playing in the NA. She'll right now. You have wheelchair. About lucky at all. But but yeah, his he's got such a he made it so easy as a family member to you know, you didn't have this like pity party that you know you might expect, because he made you feel like he's doing fine and that he's happy and and I bet there's days that he wasn't happier, things weren't fine, but he made you feel like they were. Again. Just speaks to his character and he never showed it, that's for sure. So I really appreciate you coming on sharing more of these stories. Like I said, I'm going to make sure to include that beautiful tribute article that you put together as well. I know this is all very fresh. Well, I gues said, you coming on really this is just an amazing story. That of who he was and I really really appreciate it, Brendon. Yeah, problem. Thanks again to Brendan Collins for coming on the podcast with me this week. Obviously I really appreciate it. With everything that's happened with his family, it's still very fresh with the passing of Travis Roy, but learning how they were cousins, I knew that was an interview that I wanted to make happen on this podcast and for those that get a chance to definitely check out the tribute that he wrote on neutral zones website because it's just filled with unreal stories from travis his life and as he mentioned...

...there there in the during the interview, you know, Travis told his mom he saw the light and he started skating towards it. So it was really really into rationally have him on and, like I said, that tribute was awesome to read. So make sure to check that out. But with that, let's bring in the e crew guys. Another week in the books. Every week. Well, some of them have more games than others. It's just a step forward and that's the most important part. We're still playing hockey right. Yes, win a lot of states, some states not. Some states coming back. New Hampshire's back. Messgusetts student to follow. So we hear fingers cross, because I think every night that we all put our heads on the pillow. We wonder what's going to happen the next day. We wake up and we see certain stuff and we're like second affect us, but we're still trudging along deal and that's Jeff Mills, a broadcaster in the league, part of the e crew, my color guy for will say Providence, because I got questions about that this past week. I was like, Oh, Buddy's I can't talk about providence yet. We have months to go between now and then talk about the Allstar Classic, because you could got to be yes guy for that as well, not pa for that, but we can talk about that. Yeah, it work out. Those communications. New Venue, that's that's we're going to get to those details on this podcast. Dude, my head. At some point this season is going to just come bust to this, explode because I cannot handle it anymore. But that's Jeff Mills. Also. Let's welcome in Brittany. Heart, Brittany, your latest video came out. A lot of fed back from around the league. There are God, none of it to me. Well, there are coaches that just want more facetime and and that comes with that, comes with the territory. They want to see their own faces more often. Aka Christ Ella, which to that I say prouser. Thank you anyways. Yep, Carey am hey everybody. My boss was on the pod today. My boss for my other one of my other ninety five jobs, was on the POD. Hey, Brendan, thank you so much. Neil said it was great. So I'm sorry. I gave you that shoutow. I gave you that shout out in the interview. I mentioned that how you work for both sides of the partnership. So I do you know what, I just do it all. It's hard us as last but not leastwiss welcome in Kyle McKenna. Are beat rider. I'm not making fun of the goalies, Name Kyle, but I do really enjoy the fact when you acknowledge that Fata Dad has a safe. I don't know, I really like it when when I'm watching your broadcast and you really emphasize Fata Dad with the safe. It's a great name. Thank you for for tuning in, Neil. Could be the accent? Comb different accents, Kyle, save for us? Can You? Can you say it for us and the rest of the fans of them? So we turn about Christan Fata. There's a little accent on that. But done, kids, this stuff between the pipes. But I think good names in the league this year too many, too many Twell, a long one this well, it's really tough for us play by play peeps. And Brittany, you're about to get into the broadcasting ranks. I don't know if we've alerted the rest of the world that we have. Wait, wait, you, rampsis over. What is this? I say saved by Fato that and it's like, I think I go to the seats. A little accent to it. When I was watching your game there was like a string and you're like, I've bad of that. What to say if that of that one more and I was like that's awesome. It's a great that's a good NA appreciate. There are goalie names that, as a broadcaster, it's like that. I have to say that a hundred times. It's the name you say the most often during the broadcast, right, and it's correct. Every now and then you get a goalie name that's like a hyphen a goalie name and it's like, do I say the first one more, do I say the second one more? Like, which one do I actually go with? But that one kind of just rolls well. So that's why I wanted to make sure I acknowledge that. Thank you now. I appreciate that. And there's something I need to acknowledge is congratulations to you in Brittany on winning the election. If you want to say that, you guys are obviously yes, elect of proof that you guys cheated. There's a scandal. Also, knowledge, knowledge, again, Senator Rabbit. You Know Brittany heartless, has been corrupt pretty years years, and you go, Rabin. That's my quarter badals the elect great voters. We had send great voters like they're just vice president of humans. There were some loyal eoders. When Kyle text of it, I'll be honest, I was like sure that they took off. Don't go ahead, I don't know what's gonna do. And then all of a sudden it just starts lighting up and I'm like and and get people are texting me the like you have my vote. I was like for what? Like for what? And then of course...

Dan Hicklings like, but why isn't it heart rap? And it's like right, and I'm like now down to the Queen People. It's hard. I don't know, as a political party, how Brittany and I would actually work together. Oh Dude, the country would burn. That would be quite the one hundred percent be a purge. Britney Hart. We're all living in her world. It's on the record that that was, anyway the iconic. We had iconic votes like like Noah, Chimo, beauty, thank you. Noah, like Ali, right, chance, Chan Scoman, come on, Neal your closet and Wizards Fan, you had to get up for one. Let's say to all the wizards vote for you. Guys called. It is love. No knowledge this though, Justin in every instagram account that he has voted for you. Voted for you. Every pole account voted for you, because whe liess like wels. My kind of will be back. Will be back here over the last boss. Will we have a even the core vote is for us, like, I don't give the core enough cred about thanks core. Yeah, Little Car Ducci, yeah, those guys. No, no, no, like the core account. I'm clearly sounder artist. So let's move on. That's even count. There are so many. I'm like looking through our votes right now, like Sales Belinsky, Mitch, hate, bitch, hate, yes, that she hated this. So yeah, Mitchi hate. There's so many good names on this it's great. So all right, anyways, be before we get to around the ET show. There was one other poor and I wanted to make on the introduction of our segment. I did it again. Guys, do that mean you do? A lot was on the I was on the phone with Jim Moss of the head coach, the Vermont Je Act, earlier. Love you by can heck and the way we love. He lost connection and I texted him. I was trying to text him. I lost you and I texted I love you. It's just fun. Oh my God, why, Jim Awsome? He take them like. I'm like, I wanted to text again, and he just he goes I love you too. And, Oh my God, like Iard, like how so mild, Bandard? How the heck did he guess? Like how do I keep telling people in our leadu that I love them? Like just enough, Mel like, just focus for a second, like twenty and twenty two. You're realizing the important things of your life just need a were reassurance. Sometimes that's why you got all the votes. You tell people that you love them. No wonder why you gots from the election by a landslide. I love it too. I'm over. You want to get a recount. Call Right, you want to see us. Who is doing? I want to get a recount. Sue everyone who didn't vote for mills and I. You know, I'm just the guy who writes the keeping up with the Kyle. Got Some publicity. Well, I got all listen, I want to hold. Okay, you sue the voted. I have to look now. Serious anyways, Jeff Friend, I'll Britt. Let's start making your way around the ease. It's time for this week segment of around the show round. These show is brought to you by the junior hockey podcast, your home for junior hockey news, knowledge and nonsense. Check them out at tjh podcastcom. So one comment that I got about Britney's video is that there was a lot of time for the Rangers and I go they won all eight of their games in the month of October and they outscored their opponents like forty five to sixteen. Let me guess who had an issue with that. I can't, not even sway the dance. But it's like it's like where do you know? We know what we haven't okay. When I was editing it, though, I was like wow, the amount of time on B Jars Hessy cop right now, beverly seven. If you if you go eight hundred and Oh and outscore your opponents that by that margin, how do you not talk about them? That's like, Oh, the Kansas City chiefs won the Super Bowl, but this team actually finished an eighth place this year. It's like, I will just talk about the New York jets, you know, because everyone wants to talk about eight clowns, and I'm like, okay, Um, I will listen to what you just said, but now I'm going to move all the rest of my life because they deserve that facetime. The team lotting the shootout that very first game when to a little bit of a break there. There was some covid situations that took place. Now they're back and watching that eight game winning streak. I obviously want to see what happened when they match up with Vermont, with the avalanche, with Walpole again, now that they got walpole already wants a thing. There's some thoughts, yes, and and not saying we get teams that they beat. Are Our lackluster by any means,...

...but let's see versus each side of that conference. Is it going to be this margin? I don't know, but you look at that twelve man forward group. It is legit. It will nails about them Beca's see you for word. Was You know? There's no, there's no. I mean I feel like the reason that they may be angered a little people are they're under people's Britches, as you could say, is maybe the sweet that went out meet, the one out about last year. But I mean, hold on, hold on, hold on. Yes, he it wasn't me, it was your true this week. But I think we need to also remember that, like I feel like that. Yes, last year is gone right, but we're still in the pandemic covid year. So teams like Bjr and the avalanche and the Lumberjackson, the eighty sevens that were great last year. They've carried it over into this year and they're still, you know, rightfully, remant off angry and they're relevant there and they're angry about how it what last year. But that's we went out there one, Eighteen, oh and two, and their last twenty games they met to last year. That's a and the best ever. The best ever, because it goes back to Kyle's tweet from the college coach that said that the sevens were favorite teen to watch, and red ski of the Little Wave Emoji. Hi, it's tchnical rich, and then and then the seven's cut replied to the Rangers tweet with a little wave of emotion and it's like, okay, get this. I'm always start in trouble. Yes, no, the sevens, the sevens graphic from today. Oh, that was good too. Yeah, all of Suden, my girly well off. Well, Don Alessa. So I think that. I think what's interesting, though, when you look at the Rangers and then avalanche, right, it's gonna be like the game that you and I called, Jeff, when those two teams play. It's going to be one goal? will be a shoot out every time? I don't know. But you look at the two teams and how they're constructed, I would put the rangers more as more the offensive team and that the avalance is more of the defensive team, fence. Yep, Kyle made this point two or three or maybe even for podcasts ago. You look at the top scores, you never see names from the avalanche. Yeah, repeatedly. It's it shows their depth, right and I call their game today and I'm saying to myself they win for nothing, but it felt like it was like just one nothing. It Really Sea coast was never gonna score today because I out strong they were defensively. But then that's a good point new but then I think further. I'm like who even is the best forward on the avalanche? And that's what it's been since they came into the league. That's the same blooper they've had and that's why they've won to h ehl championships. And like they don't have that one guy, they have a plezor of guys and and one championship year they had wiggle Kerbra and Jake Atkins and those were their top two guys like barn on. We get that. But you go to the Rangers, they need a goal. All twelve guys can do it. Probably Connor Bazal as the Guy Right. You go to the avalanche, you need to go. I don't know who the top guy is. Malco, Babe they made? It's a different guy every night, different guy every night, and the game is one nothing for the longest time today and actually it like I like didn't realize this for a while. I had rhet was Alec and I'm like, if secost can kind of steal a bounce here or there, maybe I get those bonus points that Jeff wanted. When all is sudden done. Rented everything he could, though he's getting pepper shot. You made like thirty nine. I'm sorry, Jeff will get the fantasy. It's so good. He made thirty nine, says, but I will go back and it just I said this to the eighty seven coaching staff because they watched the end of the game and I was like it just never feels like the avalanche give up scoring chances right and and when you don't give up the grade a scoring chances, you really can't get beat unless you beat yourself. And that's what's going to be fun to watch between those two teams, because I think they're so different. The only and and and there are things that they've done to their teams this year that they've watched the other one too. I think, Jeff, you went to a game and you were like where did rich get these defensemen? They're all monsters. Yeah, I think he's opening day to the Ross and knows. And then you just it wasn't even like. I look to the roster and I was like, okay, you like we always do that, right, we look, we size people up, and then you just I just sort of looked out to the team. I'm like, these guys are all like trees, like they're just trees on skates moving around. She's skates trunks. So they looked, they look massive. He went big this year. They clearly did their power skating over the summer. But you know, I think that's a really good point, because what usually wins when it comes to playoff time right, defense and goaltending. And you see why the avalanche of won a couple of championships can be GR's goaltending. Can McDonald and Mure? There's...

...splitting time. Can they can one of them come ahead of the other, maybe steal the spotlight? Is Rich gonna SPLIT? Dude? He's all season. That's a question. More steel steal a game right. I don't think he's still gave him. Besides that opening day, I don't think he's been in a situation yet where his goalie has had to win the game for them. I think they've been in situations where they've scored enough where didn't really matter. Yes, they've had one goal games, don't get me wrong, but I watched him play those Secos Games down down in Connecticut and like, like, secos is not a bad team. Guys like like there's so, there's, there's, they're smooth, they move schedule. has turned into a gauntlet of the past couple couple games and it's like that's why their record is kind of come back towards five hundred. But it's what makes this conference so deep and so fun to watch, because we just touched on two teams that have combined to win twelve games in a row, and the avalanche and the Rangers. I just mentioned siccos the one player that I want to give a shout out to. I may even want to some of the some of the message is Michael O'Brian, like, I know he's up. Wasn't put up a lot of points, guys, but you guys in my video I think he made like a nice little to shootout goal. Yes, he plays more minutes than imaginable. Every time I called like secos has the Puck, he had the puck like thirty three minutes. We're talking like he must have played a close to thirty minutes today. Yeah, I believe, probably twenty five, like and it was like every shit of minutes. And they was the two situations where one of his teammates was took a hit late or something like that, and like he went over and calm the situation down. Like I was like, this kid is really impressed me, and there were a few college coaches there and I hope that they had a chance to talk to him, because that's the player, without a doubt, Britney set on our video to watch on this team. But you get you keep going down from there. The Vermont Lumberjacks that Nice three game suite for them against the warriors. They haven't played since we are last on the podcast. Obviously it's very clear that no team has had to deal more with the different varying state guidelines. Then Vermont, but that's a team that I think, quietly is sitting right where they are because they haven't had a chance to play. And then the team that hasn't been quiet and absolutely emphasize the fact that they did not want to be number five in the power rankings is the wall pole. Express actually do we do? We get the I don't think we saw this week's five power do we get those? They Wall Pole is number four on a five game winning streak, and so that you choose. Have the choochoose broke the curs low key. Well, they never were at five though, right, but they only were asked five last week. I don't remember. Sorry, rough rider, rough riders, all the hosses. Then they went down the store over wasn't think cool. They've lost four straight since then. There is a sunderious curse. Okay, so number five there is, like there is. Who is this week's number five? Well, yeah, who is it? It's Vermont. So when? When do they start games back then? No gains on the schedule. You can't lose through. There we go. First wrote the curse by not doing anything. Good job, Jimmy Hey, Jimmy loves you. You're well, come now, you just curse someone. They returned to play. That's all. Well, they when they returned to play. It's next weekend, so we can take you at the ice den two against the avalanche yet. So I did that for a welcome back. I have a plan. In a few weeks, here come the avalanche. Enjoy. That's one of those gyles that at once, give it hit, take it hit. When you first get into a game, to take a hit, like, okay, it's been about a month, here we go, we're back in this thing. Was that? Look, that's next weekend. The Jack's last game was that one against the warriors where they had the nice little like three period or basically two and a half periods, of just fighting that long list spread shout of that was the major's. That was the middle game, little game. Okay, there game they did. They their game. Thing was like seven to five. What I like? Oh, they're no stranger to contact. That what I like about their team and the Eh all star classic is the top three players outside of a Juzy, who is a two thousand to watch aigans it Davis bone and Lucas Duran, three kids that all have a legit chance to be at the All star classic. I finally se yeah. Finallys is just going to say. I'm just saying these three in particular are all two thousand and one birth years, not even eight. I have to find out. Fine, lease is brother played Walpole for bounds the tip. Typically, when you say something like that and you're like piecing it together, usually you like the same time like make me personally.

Yeah, I usually do. I want to know if they're brothers. I mean, I could just take it to EP, but work for me, right, and it's not that much work. You just little google search. I would probably leave me to like. Fine, least that's not like everyone and their mom's last name. It's not Smith. I've ended names are usually. Yeah, what's the kids first named? Paul Paull. Finallys, I'm trying to remember what the brother's name was. I don't know why. I think it was John, John, yes, John, finelys. So when you get see there's no brothers section. Okay, anyway, sorry, everything. That's that's that's one part of EP with they actually may be related. They only the sibling section, relative section. That EP really is only very accurate with like professionals. I know they both went to the same high school, so they have their brothers, probably brothers or maybe cousins. Hey, good, Nice, love that for me. anyways, sorry, that was a whole yeah, yeah, it wasn't. It wasn't off the rails. It was just I was gonna say we're not fun, we're not throwing that drop it yet. Those there, but the wolves are back. Subjects for me will bite. Well, Oh, Bruce Phaves huff, because you go into you go into a two week break that you're working through the virus in this and that. Then the rink shut down and it's tough because you're not next to the border, so it's not you can just drive to seacoast. Had A couple practices up in BITEFORD. For them that was like a thirty five minute drive. I I love that because it's great partners working together, knowing that if the shoe was on the other foot for the eclipse, they would go to Exeter. Right, but not that Lakny as the middle of nowhere. But where do you go? Like a little bar? It's a little bit in that like middle where we're saying thirty five minutes is are far drive. No, no, no, that was spartans doable drive. I was about saying bit of for I'm saying look, Conya, the wolves to go practice anywhere, like while they are trying to get ready in the ranks were at opposible like we're. Where do you go? Well, will be the closest. You'd have to go south to like well, to carry when the Vermont right, you can't go into vermoncas Vermont's close. Massachusetts closed. True. Same time, you you literally have to go to you'd have to head towards me and to help you hit a rink, basically like you have to go east and help you hit a rank somewhere around the border, which I just in. Mean there's there's a number of hockey ranks, but there's not a lot of hockey ranks. No, you have to hope. It's like it's tragic. The lake isn't frozen. If the lake was frozen, gun boys, until winning, we go and on the ice, get on the ponds, baby. That's the one thing that people have asked me about the season so far, and obviously it's you know, scheduling changes and this regulation and this change, and that we haven't even had any real snow yet. I had five interests are on my apartment the other day. But okay, yeah, but like I built a whole snowman on Friday night. Have we had to cancel a game yet because it's snow? No, but I'm saying it has no. Yes, but once we haven't had to cancel a game yet because of weather. That could be coming and the next that's summer, January. That's a little scary. I wanted to just tell our bus drivers to get a plow on the end of the bus. So we're going forward. Oh what was the showcase last year when we were like geeking out worcester, it was snow and Oh yeah, Oh, Oh God, those when your old beauty decided that she didn't want to work anymore. She's for it's old car. Yes, yes, idea. Want to go help her jump in. Like what are we talking about again? Ember we sat out. We had the jumper cables up my car to Britney's car for like a half hour. The thing was still just the old classic jumper cables. I feel like Kyle hasn't seen me go like bat shy, like crazy yet, but like that was a day when I was absolutely no. You haven't even seen it, like I have, as about to say. I have not for the record right, but them to like Neil and Jeff that day. Oh, I was a I was a forced to me go damn rocking with here. You were fine. I mean we know how to deal with it this in year whatever. We're no hurricane Britt so yeah, I didn't clean my partment. Finishing off the rest of of that conference. Obviously we have mentioned Massachusetts rinks being closed as well, but opening back up this weekend. The one ordinance that's been given out so far is all rinks are going to have to close by thirty. So that's going to be a little bit said. Don't boy gave us some weird rules up in the state on you know who'd a boy is? That's probably big governor, early baby, my mom calls him, for a couple of people called that. So yeah, my mom says that Nani really has a good nick names. She's gonna keep ourselves...

...outo affiliated with any politics besides hl politics. Will just keep it there. For the one sleeper that I know kyle is continuing to watch one again today and the main eclipse, but the one sleep of the I'm watching is the railers junior hockey club. I know it's been kind of an up and down start, but I think that team has the pieces this year to be someone that could do what seacoast did last year, you know, be one of the last teams in and make a little noise in the playoffs. I'm sticking with that one too. I said it first. I it's mine. Kyle gets main. I get what's Sir Eli, I wrote pick your underdog. I don't say I doubted you when you you you grew up the junior railers, but I wasn't too impressed early on. But now it's I'm kind of with Senator Raven and now it's like I need to get used to the probably listen to centator raven because he probably knows what he's talking about, and I agree. I think the junior railers are one of my teams that I'm leaning towards as let's watch these guys. They could upset a team or two, but consistency is key and until the junior railers can win three games in a row, let let's see that, because had a tough start. I know they turn things around, but have they won three games in a row not yet now, but they have, I think what they have. I think they have offensive firepower. I think they got to figure it out defensively, for sure. I mentioned a few all ones to watch earlier from Vermont and Oh to name Brennan de Marco as a Marco. He's filth on the I wanted to pick some of them fantasy last week, but I guess you got a little rabbiting to Marco played mass high school. I'm a big mass high school person. Obviously in Massachusetts has good high school hockey, unlike some other states that are represented on this podcast, but that's a different thing. No, he's good. He plays that. No, he played lowell or Lowell Catholic. I don't remember which one was. Sorry, but he is good. He's good. I like him. He's good. Think one of the big things about them to new you have to believe in his coach Odessa and his family have been in the game of hockey for a very, very long time. So is James Mellow. He's closer to our age. He's worked in college, he's he was a goaltender himself. He was over a Providence College. We've had a couple of different coaches there that well, add some experience. So yeah, and the one today form over Connecticut to it. Didn't mean to take anything away from the Jew Junior railers that it is a you know, it's a big one. Yeah, and that's good. They bring up Connecticut because that transist us down south. And the graphic of all graphics today, that seven's graphic, was like it was he who it was het? The Philadelphia one beginning of the year was a good one. That one was like Alyssa said. Alyssa said Hosses, who don't know them? That's not what the graphic said. I'll read it a loud please hold at one moment for everyone who didn't see it. Alyssa, I love her. She's great. So, my people, this is who you voted for, right, this is who you've one of our my corrupt self, and you know what, still be it. So there is a graphic. It has the score ten, nothing, not a bill whatever. Role Sevens. And originally it had said sweet revenge, but Alyssa Cross it out and wrote rough revenge, rough riders, Yoikes, and then and then it's ten us, zero them. It's like, Oh, I didn't even notice. So, yeah, it's like everything, everything it's a black and white. Rais wasn't a black and white. was a black and white. So I feel like that's another thing where it's like like the one pick, like the picture of the kid was in color. Yeah, I mean it's like, but it's a design. Yes, it goes back to a tweet Kyle had about the best Hashtag in the league before and stuff like that. I love this stuff, like why? I don't know you're talking about. I need it, like why? I why hide from it? Like go out, pound your chest, say how good you are. If you could say it, say it. If if you get knocked down, then you have to kind of embrace that too, and I'm sure the seventh would if the shoe was flipped. But if you go out and you earn the right to pound your chest and screaming it from the top of the mountain, go do it. And as Jeff to go off, as Jeff said last week, and I don't even remember it happening, you call the seven s professionally arrogant. I think that's what Adam Huis said. I was like yeah, that's yeah, that's it. That's coach, totally okay with that. Loved it. He loved dude. He's with this. Did Not care at all because that's looking. How do I how do I turn that into a Hashtag? I was like,...

I don't think you can turn into a Hashtagro as like stick with the FTJ and your good. Yeah, because he have shed a I think that's a go one. Obviously, the very common phrase that the Rangers are using is unfinished business, FTJ, finish the job. It's they're thousand, one hundred and one one. I really like this team. They are they're really deep and I thought about the forwards before for for the Rangers. I think these guys are just as deep, with all the scorers that he has. He was saying at points he thought that, you know, a debord or a Teremanty, we're going to go in through slow starts and then it's just like three point game, four assists game, two goals, one assist game. It's like, okay, we're five point GEMP game today. Gift up Roy like in the got Blensky back, like that's like cheating. They should have any beat. Maddie B was the face of the of the graphic. Yes, I'm the graphic. Yeah, and they have defense, they have gudilleras and they have goaltending. They got Copack, I mean thing too. Well, they gotta how Colo Yo, pretty sure. I picked him last week for fantasy. I don't happen. That's a literal story time. I picked you for fantasy. That's a that's an in all. I knew about that and and then I got a text. It's like and I was like, Oh, I knew about this and I didn't say anything. Sorry, didn't mean to do so. I'm not going to ask the same question that I've asked you guys before, but we've mentioned the curse and like, I just don't get it. Man Like. Is this who the rough riders are gonna be all year long, or am I just off here, like I don't know, I don't know the story theme. It's a theme for I feel like sorry, but they're not always the most consistent team ever. I listen. No, what are you going to look at their record and say, hell, you're wrong, meaning a year's kind, they are not the most consistent. They are not consistent. It's as I think. I've not as consisting, pretty heartless. I've said this on past podcast. I've said it before. If you listen to the other podcast, like they're young team, they're discovering themselves, but the town is there. They're going to be inconsistent, especially early on with the you, but they're that unique Schaus a pretty you're talking about their works year like it's a common scene, and so that's the inconsistent. Yes, there they might be inconsistent. But, Jefferson Mills, did you pick Adam Mr Faust in between the pipes? You probably picked him for a reason. The two meeting goal scorers in the League are on the rough riders. Yeah, something's going to happen there now, you hope thing. SOIME's not roll sevens the end. Roll sevens a the new have seg was roll corps. No, that's a horrible Ashet war are apple cores, social media everyone are like roll thing right, like what are you rolling the apple? where? You're rolling it to what it wants to be? A bite the apple? I don't know, but copple blinking better than that. that. I will fight. But point to Britney's point. Lose three in a row, win two in a row. That weird. Eight hundred and twenty four ducks game with the all the empty enders and stuff like that, right, also can rely on three peat kids to win every single game with you. They won four in a row, they lose four in a row. It's a jacqueline hide type team right now and they might have too much top in scoring. It's what happens if Colin Bella gets injured. Done what? Well, good, look and look at the not to get too off the rails, but staying in the game of hockey, look at the Boston Bruins. Team that we all love actually sells, not a BRUT's face it's like to really all they are. That's in the me and deal love. I forgot. PRITTY's one of those Weirdos up in England and loves the Black Hawks and the Chicago Steel and all those weird teams. But Oh, get up. Look, but look the way when marsh embers run in past knock aren't scoring, that team is struggled over the last they've been the three cups last ten years. But when that line's not going, they can't get anywhere else. Then you're going to run into issues. You need to have that depth and, like we said earlier, rolling back to the beginning, conversation we have with the avalanche. Why have they always end it up and the promised lamb. But they have guys that you would never even know where. They don't go out there. They don't score twenty, thirty, forty goals here. They don't do it the so called pretty way. They do it the way they like to. So and pretty brought up the track record to I mean that might be something too with the rough riders. It's not just like Stephen Brown's gonna hate me now I tell you just say he'll say thanks for the bulletin board material. Exactly what me on the Damn Bulletin Board. I'd love it. I hope they all played. They get up so no ice house, so constructive criticism they can throw, not saying art your face, throw darts at my damn bag them art. Would love to get like a nice video, but it's it's a team that I don't have to take. I agree with Kyle. I think you got to watch them...

...to see what happens with them, because it's into jeff point too, when when they're on, they're on. When they're off, Onnz on there are and when you fall lost, to possible behind with your starting goalie and and all of a sudden becomes four or five nothing. At that point it's done. Six as a kind of no, rich doesn't to becausen't. That doesn't matter either. The wheels have come off in that game. So oftenances out the window. Yes, I mean it's not Black Hawks with Patrick King Jonathan t's and Duncan Keith and so on. We're a non playoff team at one point and they were doing similar things. Leak a hi doing say just saying sorry. I took a look at the capitals for all those years. So vetchkin putting fifty, sixty goals for getting into the net and they don't go anywhere. It's you see, that game of hockey you have to have depth, you have to have goaltending and defense. When it comes to winning the whole thing, not just winning the regular season. You gotta be a full body of work. And another team that I wanted to talk about. You keep shifting on the standings. Their protech kind of had a little bit of a break in their schedule. Here we go. See, though. I was going to saw the duck whistle and I'm I'm looking at the top scorers in the League one day and I'm like where did Braden Patricia go? Oh, and then they'll give a call. Underrated player in each all right, now, never talk about him. He's third in the League. They don't play any games. He's bring you got off to that heater at the Mo of the season. Yeah, UH'LL STAP. You got ten. DO WE LOSE? You are you stas? Where do you go? They hadn't played right he they played a fifteen sixteen. They lose that series and overtime in a shootout. Little bit of a break in the schedule. So he's not putting up point when you don't play. And then, boom, where back five win, he has five, five points on accounts for five of the seven goals. Hey, who are you? Britain's been. Is that good? It's like good, Yep, but it just kind of your first win, your first win as a broadcast. Thank you. I know. For a second there I thought I was gonna get the book because, as like, I'm just bad. Block at the polls here, please, time Gamer. We're going in over time, we're blowing leads, but Bratin Patricia, in my opinion, just doesn't get enough spiling. That's fine, he probably doesn't want it, but he's another guy, almost like an S K. You Sada. Am I saying that right? Or is it you suit out? anyways, he mass everyone's ousually. You then say suit up back to him. You don't just say and it's it's just his hockey Iq and his play away from the park that puts him in a better position to succeed. Okay, so I don't off one of his passes. I was fantastic, like he is, this uncanny ability to look one way, go the other and the goalie thinks he's shooting the Puck, but then he dishes it cross ice, across the high slot, and then, you know, Nick Newman comes up with the one timer, finds it back in the net and everyone's looking around like what just what just happened? What just happened there? So I always appreciate those guys who may not be the most flashiest players at first glance, but if you can make your teammates around you better and lead by example, you have to appreciate that. And I speak. I think it speaks volumes. He's up there in the top five or scoring and I mentioned in the new Eland conference a team that I'm watching in the railers, a team that I'm watching down stuff right now, is the kinecticut chiefs and before and if you saying before and Kny, of you say anything, I know I can speak highly to them too. There's three, five and two. But you look at the Games that they've lost, right an overtime lost the wizards, an overtime loss to the rough riders. So one goal loss to the express, two goals to the Seahawks, two goals to Protech, a goal to the railers. Obviously they're still losses, but you start putting the right pieces together, maybe mix up lines here there, get a bounce here there. You flip half of those. You're now an above five hundred team up towards second, third place and, of course, in that conference, first and second get a first round by and for what it's worth, if you can avoid playing the sevens in the playoffs, you kind of Lash your soul, I take it. And the only way you really can guarantee yourself that is by being the second seed, because then you don't face off in the first round. You've got to buy and then you face off in the city. Wouldn't face off in the second round because you're in different playoff series at that point and winners go to providence and at that point, if you face the a sevens and Providence, you made it to Providence, you're one of the final four teams. Okay, so another week later. In my opinion, today or when this podcast drops tomorrow, November five, I think the second seed will be the Connecticut sheeps. That is bolder. I just...

...saw them play. As much as I just talked up Captain Brain for Patrician Company and save by found a dead Connecticut. It wasn't as a Connecticut. Look, look, I'm saying this from not a standpoint. A Connecticut was arguably the better, better team in that contest. Okay, day out shot protect by almost twenty shots. You want to talk about depth, I saw that with Connecticut. It was just a matter of it ran into a hungry protect team that can score at will. Yees so and they're like the rest of the junior hockey league teams that don't have those big veteran gold they're still trying for your goaltending to you know, they have the three different guys that they're kind of rotating right now and maybe they have found something with Marshall mccallip. He started to put up these good good so good for them. Doesn't let him like bad goals either. Like then, you know, have some goals you like, oh, that shouldn't have gone it. He doesn't really give up those like oooh, that wasn't cute goal. It's more of a goose second and third rebound opportunities is defense should have cleared. So that's right for about the team in front of you than as the gold. So do you guys want to make your bold predictions? Also, we don't have to. These are get up PLO. I feel like that's that one was so big. I need to yeah, what about? Oh about hello, not buddy Yello, little flyers, team Maryland their best. Robbie, see what can't be beat death all. Robbie, see Ragon, Jake Frankenfield, dynamic duo. When you mentioned his name in the did you try laugh or did how many times did you laugh when you recorded the I October video, everything I recorded, when you said see wagon, I was like, Oh God, Robbie us, I rubby sewagon. Heck, yeah, I laughed. Is it all too? Like? Oh, he's a look, so let's walk in your answers, because Britt just gave her. She said to see little fires, peel US walk it in locking in Neil. That used to be NELSI. I'm still sticking by the Connecticut rough riders. I just think they're a team that has potential, so I'm going to stick by them, regardless of the tough loss today. They are the only team that's beat New Jersey too. So okay, that's fair. When you beat in Jersey and then loose to nothing, my God, show me, did you? Okay, we're remember this. You voted for her. You voted for her. One on the hosses for us and nothing. I think the only person the horses that voted for us is gray owens. You know, I doesn't when we had a coach as all good for the ban on Monday. I forgot that in the private chat that we can do here on zoom, Steven Brown wrote Neil for press and then the day later we get elected. I totally forgot. So, Jeff, your pick, for I kind of want to just like waste it right now. I kind of want to Mask Jeff. Is that coming out of I don't pick somebody here. Let's let's do this for Jeff's sake. I said the chiefs, Britt said the little fires. Kyle us of the rough riders. Jeff takes the chiefs, Jeff takes the field. They and then maybe next week I'll throw it in then. I just don't want to throw some team up. I got some my I got my eyes railers. We're just talking about the railers. I think we're talking in the south. Yeah, well, sir, talking about the south has to be cell phone and now we're talking about the EHLP. We're going to transfer moment on and, as some people may have noticed, in Brittany segment, the biggest thing that I'm watching for. I know it's so early, we keep, you know, slowly, mentioning playoffs here and there. There's four teams and each division all four teams made the playoffs and it goes without saying you want to be the one seed. Not that too, the three of the four. You want the one versus for matchup. It's the best for you. If you win that series, then you face the other winner, winners of that second round. Cities go to Providence. Right, one team from each division. These battles are awesome and the one that I'm watching the closest is the south division, because I don't think we're talking about the chiefs enough and part of that has to do with the fact that you start with the eighty seven's first place team, leading scorer in the league, Ivan Boris. Of all right, got it, you. You just left the screen for a second. That's back, Bros. Yeah, and then you are fun and they can still you work down from there. Little flyers right behind the eighty sevens, a team that's be the eighty seven a couple times already. Second leading scorer in the League and Nick Bouchard just one point back. New Jersey Rend. I talked all about this in my video. Yeah, big segment for me. New Jersey renegade thoroughly. They score in the League. James Matson one point behind them that division. Maybe it's just me...

...right now, and and we can talk about the avalanche being the favorite in their division, the Rangers, and there's for me. I look at the south and there's a favorite, sure, but any of those four teams can come out of that division. Yeah, we actually going to be able to. I know everything we I mean, we don't know what the heck tomorrow is going to bring us, but are we trying to have a premier showcase the season? Neal still the showcase schedules right now they were supposed to be five in the EHL and they was going to be three in the EH L P right IPTEMBER was supposed to be wooster, ehl only done. October was supposed to be Walpole. Both done. November this month haveril both done. Those are three Massachusetts, and so it's never like playing games and mass was hard playing us. Oh yeah, okay, so yourself December. December turned into an EHL plus like a small little bit of the h LP, and then in Newington and then January is Exeter, both divisions. Now I'm not going to come on this podcast and be the most negative person in the world, but that's my job, as as Chris Serella told of them self as Mr Realistic. So O, Donny for the nickname for old Mozzarella over there. The toughest part about the toughest part about showcases is all of the optics and logistics behind it. Right you come out and first off you use the word showcase and everyone's eyes perked up like this, like Oh, okay, your showcase people. There's a lot of yeah and and Teen Ah Shel teams and add in the EH LP. It's just hard to even envision how something like that could be pulled off. And that's not just us right. The NA has their showcase every year that they call the greatest show on. I saw twenty six teams or hover man, you are actually playing this year. Yep, that you thought it got reschutled. I don't remember to win, but like, who needs to probably get rescutled again. It yeah, and it care. It's going to was going to be in December. Now it just says TB on their website. To have an event like that, it's just hard. It's it. You bring in that many people from that many different locations and and don't get me wrong, I've said on this podcast before, right when this all happened in March and we were all heartbroken with the way the last season ended, like it was like, all right, I guess we're all going to going to sit in our houses for the month of April. Then the'll all be over liked right. I was like saying something we're not gonna say. My hair dress in the other day and she's on Saturday and she's like remember when we said that we were going to have like wear masks like next time we saw each other? And that was four months ago I was like, yeah, here we are. I just don't I just think about this other day, like I love going to sporting events, going to a game, not even like game I have to call. I love this, going to a professional game, getting getting food at the concession, getting a drink, you know, hanging out watching the Ballpark, you name it. When we ever going to be able to do that again? I keep thinking about it every night, like like that concerts, like on no way, like you walk in the Gillette for a game, right and it's like they you pack into all these lines next to each other just to get in, like these people that are spending hundreds of dollars to go to a game and be one of a thousand fans in the stands at the end at an NFL game. It's like, at this point, I don't even know if I want to be one of those people. I'd rather just doing what we're doing and I'll be the only guy in attendance when I go called the wizards games and I'll clap when Jim announced to the starting lineup and I'm the only human being in the building and I'll just roll with it because it's just it's just so weird to think, like when are we ever going to get back to normal? You look at past videos and whatnot, have highlights. Its like I've never seen you haven't seen a crowd like that before, like it's just it's like you watch a hockey game and it's like, oh, there's the ehl on TV. There's no fans in the building, but they're playing just fine. Like it's just it's hard to it's hard to comprehend. Really. I had tickets to a luke combs concert. That was supposed to be December three and now it's December three, two thousand and twenty one. I hope that's okay. You'RE gonna hope to hear you're like you gotta hope next year vaccine comes out. Things were going to hopefully, but but the quite don't know. But the question that I've asked myself then, is vaccine or not? When are you going to go out in public? This is we're really going way off now with the podcast. I'm okay with it. I like this and this makes off the rail segment. There would down stuff. When are you going to feel like I'M gonna go out in public today and I'm not going to wear a mask. I don't think we will ever go back to quote unquote, normal. Really. Oh, that's like real bold. I think that's think about it, like yeah, but that's...

...just the way that people are going to think about the flu now. Yeah, like and think about anything, like anytime anybody sick, it's going to be like, Holy Hell, Corny, like fourteen when you touch a door right, touch a chair, when we sit down right somewhere. That's what I mean, like like going back to that normal like everyone's going to be so hope. My God, do I have hands in touching my bag, like holy crap. Like next, do like going on the train? I used to love going on the trade like get me on the Green Line and boss and like get up, I'm excited. I used to. I used to take the train to work like I would take the train to school, like loved it. Now, Hell No, I'm not going to tea the teeth. Forget it. He and Boston York subway system like be like everyone around me, like Neil Rachel, can't work the tea to save her life. I am always and my friends will text me like if I want to go here, where do I go? And I'm like Oh God, okay, and I give them like a map out there. I feed the MBT. But, like, we talked about a game, right, go into a game again, ride the tea again, like, yeah, the back like it's funny because people take like Annabelle worked, my friend Annabelle worked at the hospital all summer and she lived in like back or back bay or wherever she lives, and she took the train. Still. Yeah, and it's like that's the only people that were taking the train. Is people who live in Boston. That the go to to whatever of the seven whatever. I don't know how many hospitals there are, but one of those. That's who was taking train. Is, Oh, I'm going to my hospital, which is infested anyways. Here we go. Yeah, so it's just going to be it's going to be crazy to see how it all plays out. Right, like I had the best time watching the NHL Finish things off. The NBA, MLB, NFL is back. It's cool. It's good to have that because it feels because we weren't, we didn't have it for so long. But but now what I realize is, like we're in mid November. There should be a bruins or a celtics game tonight. I don't know, ruin. Something came on my birthday, even though I don't like the Bruins and I just like to go. But then, like now, you just I've watched so many random, terrible Thursday night football games just because it's something that up. But it's but you don't know what the outcomist right. That's what's so great. It's you don't know what's going to happen until it happens and it's like I can you don't know when it's going to go away again. To Neil. Yes, is that all part of it? You Watch it, you hold on to it, because I feel the same way. I watched Falcons Panthers last week and I was like why am I watching? Why am I watching this? There's so much stuff I can watch on Netflix or Hulu or anything else that I was like why I'm watching this, Mike? Oh, because I eat, drink and sleep and everything you can possibly do about sports. I Love Sports. They are my life. I been since I was a little kid. Same thing for all of us and it's just and it's so and actually, here's a real somber tone. This time last year I was in the booth of the Boston Bruins. I remember that. This is my year anniversary. I was in. Think about that act house seven came out that moment, right. I think about that moment. Right. Could you imagine ever looking up from that seat that you were in? I mean like this might be the last time that I but you see all the people there? Right, seven times. I wasn't when there's nobody there, like right, doesn't feel right. It was a felt the same. No, and yeah, it's just did you do you have time off? Is that why you had that? No, I just know, because I'm a freak in my head. I know November four two thousand and nineteen from the forget it, Oh, two years ago we are. was at the den for Bjr ads. Where were you? Why? Was Igh scoring the game? I probably was standing right behind you calling and you like wow, it don't why. Jeff high sent this to Kyle and Neil. Look it old me four years ago repping the wall. Black Hole. Gee, Oh, Gee, and your black hair too. That's how it's like. It does the color you, Amos, and that's Nina's north face. So Nice. Oh my God. But with that one made an interesting point. There Jeff about that, like Panthers Falcons game. Now it's like if there's a football game and I have a fantasy player on that game, like I'm like watch it, I'd like me to right now, and I have my Davis and Calvi Ridley. So I might have been a little doll right. I helped a little. Good W but it's a great transition because it makes you want to tune in when your ehl fantasy players playing on hockey TV also. So baby. So with that let's transition into our what to watch for before we wrap things up. Here's what to watch. More this week in the east show, it's time for the ECREUP fantasy challenge, brought to you by Bertucci's brick oven pizza and pasta, your home for authentic Italian dishes, catering and group dining. Check out their party pizzas and specialist Appertucchi'Scom so when Kyle picked Nikita Primac like he did it at a time where I was like...

...that's a good pick. I'd probably pick that guy also. I like that pick. When Jeff Picks Adam fouse, just like we were saying with the overall team, that's a good pick. He just one star of the week, Jeff, and beating the eighty seven, and it just beat the eighty seven's like look of the most top five bonus points. It's not one of those things where it's like, Oh, Tom Brady this do five touchdown passes, I'm going to play him again because he's Tom Brady. Like. This is like I did not think that Adam Faust would lose two games. For you give up twelve goals and make fifty six days and account for negative points. I I truly feel bad. I truly feel bad. It's okay, I appreciate it. That's nice of you sitting in first place. Feel bad for me, who finish in first place last couple weeks. Honestly, it was my first like bad week of the year. We're all welcome world again, my world. They're listening in it now. But no, right, I think. I think we're honestly all do for like weeks like that. Like we said, Kyle, have a sweet this week, and like that's is. How come, Brit we written not not been so tough on yourself all right now, Brittany, look at you. Haven't even pretty. You have not had a week like we've had twenty point nineteen, eleven, nineteen, thirty two, point twenty two. Twenty, you don't had. And how many point did you have? Or Point Two? That's to you single digits. You even had a single digit, so give yourself some credit. You haven't joined us in the single digit area yet, so it take the week either. I'm just just be a guy with single point. You ff Oh my God, always no kind of ads. We lost the election because bills mccunter the only one. Yeah, yeah, Eminem I just love a halo. Test texts. Jefferson Week Mills, really good dude. I literally I saved the package that he set me my plf stuff in because I loved that so much that it's a trippy to meats. I was got thrown on those like now I kind of like this is clean. Grow still. You wrote it out and everything like that's looking forward to see Stig Miller Tephia. No Fang gear here. Can Someone Send Me Some GDS? I've no girls of pig. You know. You Justin to send you wall pole. Stuffy vote a few ninety times on his soundin account, so I'm sure he'll get you some wall poles lit. You have a lie you have an EHL corship coming up. Forward to the email this morning. There we go. Did you get the email? Rep The black sender, Rabin lies correct. Well, there is an email. Rais not be alive, but Wa, I need some gear with that, Jeff. Yeah, where the last pick? Lastly, be the first pick this two weeks around. That's what makes this fantasy challenge funds because it shuffles up so quickly like this and your picture this upcoming week. Now. So this week we are starting with our forward for the Wallpole Express to to is right. Britt brick calls them Renzo. I Call Him Little Renzo Marcoli, nickname girl. It's a good Italian boy from Saratoga Springs. He's a left shot. He's a US of a hockey player, Lorenzo Marcolin. He's got five powerplay goals to power play assists. That's big time. He's top, actually he's number two and our entire league and power play goals with five on the season. So we're going to hope Lorenzo gets me some more powerplay points, which I think I still lead for the entire e crew of powerplay goals. But let me moving. Oh, we're gonna I'm just looking like, yeah, you haven't the lead, the lead like he crew and power play points. You do. There we go see power play points, big stuff, and then we're gonna go on defense. My boy. Yeah, I love this pick. It's icon Helo. Here we go a love you ready, buddy. My PLF shirt is in the laundry or also would have warned today for this. Want to pick you guys. A couple weeks ago, things got shuffle around. This Week on defense. Jake Crankin feel, Oh yes, from fruit, is wile's boy whiz with himself. Jake Frankenfield. Let's go, Jake, you let's go, buddy. Let's forgive. It's funny because I get fired after these kids, but if they were standing in front of him and be like who the hell are you? I think we all know clue what he looks like, but I'm like your girls get I think, Neil it only know, like everybody whoever would know Jake? Mean Neil. I just knew Jake Fankerfield. Hey, jake freakin field, looks like take ways with Frankenfield, my boy, no one. As head shot looks like good tend her, sixty pounds. Another American left shot, Jesus. He Likes Oregon. Steve, South Philly. I would say he's from Marlton, New Jersey. Kyle is Marl Konis Hous here, South Jersey. Hey. How are you? South Jersey, though? And then, lastly, but certainly not least, Georgie McMichael from...

...the New Hampshire Avalanche. Sorry, George, we're not going to call Georgie. Will stick, will stay professional. Another us of A. I'm going with the bunch of us a born hockey players this week. But we have Michael. Many imports this year. Very true, very true. Very low on the imports this year. Good Call, brick covid year, right there, year, we're at back at you, right there on Britain. I love it. Love You, Britt, love you by so, McMichael. One point one, seven goals against a nine hundred and sixty two, say, percentage, atop the hl right now. So come on, Georgia, need you, buddy. We got to get back to doing good things after that's you got me a shout out today, so get up and with that, cursed Britt. You're good. What will transition over to Kyle. Had Ten points this past week. The shout out for the rough riders. What it hurt Jeff Today. Also Art Kyle, because Colin Bella only had a goal and an assist this past week. So I would imagine Kyleie probably go back to Colin Bella at some point this year, at some point. This here absolutely, especially after I was tucking up the rough riders as my dark horse to pick. But all of seriousness, usually I start with the goaltenders in net for my fantasy picks. I'm going to start up front with, in my opinion, what could be a smart pick. Austin Massachusetts. Pick the SEAHAWKS hockey club. Yeah, he's guys, this guy across. They're from a literal Cape nowhere near Boston and is. It's like an hour and a half away. It's a long way, but ever boss that look. I know the area very well and I also know this kid can put up numbers across the board. We're talking goals, assists, powerpla points, game winning goals. So, Austin, pick, you're my forward for this week. I'm going to skip over the defense, gonna go between the pipes. Stick with the SEAHAWKS. Peyton durant, Duran Durrant pick. So I have a couple weeks ago. Solid, solid one better that my I love the way he knows has his picks. Oh my God, but if the seehawks have a busy schedule, they're due for winds. I think there are two, no pun intended, solid picks. And then on defense, gotta go with yeah, Senator Ravin, can you help me pronounce his knee game? His name is Wal Paul Express. His name is Tabor to Beer Gutschick, the better to cut chick, and and Cody Campbell, the head coach of the Walpole Express, told me that is another player to keep an eye on as a last one of the last defenseman in for the EHL Allstar classic. He is a sleeper on the player side of things, if you will. So everyone's tripping me, like I think the same players every week. I'm like no, no, I'm pretty sure I bring up new names to the beetlest every week on the show Niels. So yeah, I'm glad pix these kids from would work. Exact Simon before he was like where he signs? I'm in the guys. Twenty two goals. First Exact Simon, Maurice Vincent. What a well, you know when Kyle picks ezact silent. For the first time it'll be exact Simon sets. So I didn't know you guys are for you, you know, when you tell a joke in in the middle of the joke, you like you wonder if everyone's going to actually laugh at this or just kind of be dead silent. I didn't know that was good. I played Simon this morning ones, but that's me every minute of my life. Brittany, that was good. You haven't had an explosion week, but you've been consistent the last creeping up. You're an a room. You and't look at system has ever been in name with. I mean nineteen, Thirty two point eight, twenty two point eight. You're creeping up and you get to pick second to last again this week. Right in my forward pick is e electric Nathan. No one will get this, so my nickname is not going to be good. If you play Bjr, you'll probably get it. Nathan, give me a look young. If you guys have seen, I took this one picture last year. Nathan young has like the younger stare connorvers all. You got to be laughing at this right now. That's like. There is this one like iconic. It was his instagram picture for the long time like they're the younger stare rich also will laugh at this get up. Oh God, I just can't like their kids. So funny and I will never forget. Jeff, you had the call younger's goal against TMD last year at the showcase. An exitor. You. So that was the that was the door trick when he like got on the ice and then just took...

...the pocket. Actually just just strind team Marilyn, and I was like what penalty box play the rich for? It was the penalty box stores. It's called the rusty door play, where the player goes in on one side of the bench. I'm well on the other side and behind the D for the breakaway past, game winner. Game One and goal. Okay, first good draws up younger. He's rot box bloys to yes, yeah, so I'm a big name Ethan young stick. He's gonna get so embarrassed by everything I'm saying. It's kind of fine anyways. Moving on. They can get up thirty seven. Then on Dia have reese poolin is, I I said, and he's also number thirty. Other he's also them our thirty seven. Wow, thirty seven. The S are with me. Yeah, no, I I like the main people. I like them, not you. Nil. I like that the coaching staff at May. They always make me laugh. Good Times. I don't know. Nils picked him a few times. He hasn't. Big Kyle's the one that hasn't picked reese. I had them last week. You've had him now. Could Great. So come on, Reese, join the bandwagon. Here we go. PC's, racy's, PC's. How are you though? I have picked a different BJR goaltender before, but we're going to switch it up to the Bjr goaltender of the month in Nathan Mueller. Oh my God, wait, I have two hundred thirty sevens and to Nathan's and the Kid II Nan. He's name is Nathan. There's a lot of weird shit going on this week. Okay, I'm the only thing about Nathan Mueler, because Nathan young where thirty seven mule or can't wear thirty can't wear thirty seven. A little tragic, but that's okay. So, yeah, you know what, what's his name? Rich has been telling me to pick Bjr for like weeks now. They finally have three games. I could have gone the cook grow could have gone the BIS row, but I'm thinking's royal to the I'm staying loyal to the Nathan's the thirty seven. So get three thousand seven hundred and eighty seven. There's a lot going on. Get. Yeah, anyway. Well, we also side question. Okay, calling the wizards game on. Sorry, everyone, I sent you the message and said, do you want to go to the game? No, I probably didn't even read it. Was As expressolutely ubility said, do you want to like get inner with cody and I before the game? Seriously, Yoh, wait, what, someone's pretty there. Wait, is that? Know? Like I I, you can ask meal. Like if somebody sends me a text, I don't read it, I straight up like, wait, I don't see this textic I'll find it after off the pocket. But yeah, I will go because I want to go to that game. So anyways. anyways. So now we can get to my picks. Was the expressed be their peeps with sleep, fress, Getto don't be there. So fans, I have to it away from me. I have to admit something first, because I was a little surprised that you guys didn't call me out for this. I picked that loftist as my forward this past week from the Connecticut Cheat. Yeah, chef, the leading score for the chiefs going into the week. I knew they had the eclipse on Thursday, the seahawks on Friday and the railers today, when we're recording this Wednesday, I did not know about Monday against the ducks, so I didn't like lose opponas game. I did not know. I wouldn't. I would have told you guys about that, but the ducks were supposed to play the Apple Corps and instead I became the sheets. So I didn't know that a team was going to get four games. I'm just make it sure everyone has that on the record here while we're recording. That came out of nowhere. All Right, okay, that's fine. Now that we're I just want to make sure I make that stake off this to last week. He had two goals and two assists for ten total points. Drummond, Tyler Drummond from the railers had three assists, one of the power play, and Rhet was a Lek, who's the one player that I have repeated. I know he lost today the avalanche, but you still got me twelve points from his two starts and you just got your twelve points. Well, if they had one today's game, no one's got bonus points yet. Like tried. That would have been a GI got like sort of a thing from like the shot, but it'sn't. It doesn't really. Well, I'm talking about the bonus top versus the top five team bonus point. I know, like seacose, she could have stayed in the top five, but well, pretty, you joined me. Pretty well done. You joined me. Is the only other person that's good shot outs me and you kid the on kind of have any shitouts yet? I got two. Thanks. Cured is George McMichael. But, Neil, sorry, didn't see your thunder. Go ahead. No, it's all good. So my Sur first place text for this coming week start off Cros up front, one of the Potter forwards right now in the ehl player that will not be playing the Eh all star classic because he's already committed. Oh and Ryland Duke's pretty. Oh Yeah, he's Oh, pict shuttle, Alex Casey Gut went worth absolutely that's...

...like one of my pals. Hell, yeah, sorry, my pick, not yours. Anyway, sorry that this is gonna love that one. He's gonna pump here tires and other another Choo Shoo, another Choo Shoe. I was best friends with cody first to so all of you, and I know seriously true record in times of you go off with cody. Zero, Neil, seventy two. Wow, that ground up and I'm actually gonna stick with the cheese. For my Defenseman, I don't know if he's the only player in the league this year from Australia, but declan Bronte is a player that Neil Green told me to add to the list of the fenceman to watch for the EHL allstar classic. That's implants. TORC isn't telling you you's got it here. He has some you. You guys very has with Bronte. Any name you guys want, any number you guys wanted to leak each other. It's on the it's on the scouts page on the web side. I'll give you that. I'll deliver it to you as well, so I know you will. He's got four points in five games, including a game winner, so I feel good about that one. The last pick because when you pick fourth, and it sucks kind of when you finding a goalie, you want to make sure the going plays right. You pick you pick a team that only plays one game. You don't know if he's gonna play. So all right, they play three interesting. They played three games. When Brittany has picked this goalie has not worked out. Dope, she cursed. Were you about to? You on, curse him? I'm going to try it. UN cursed the Tristan Hadley, the mansion. Wait, so somebody picked peyton Duran and somebody picks and Hadley kneel them. Okay, you know what did? This point is we just did there buckles. We just said this like two weeks ago. You picked broken, I picked Nathan and they each got us to wins. Yeah Right, so I'm never will be interesting. I think each of them will get a start against the wolves. Yep, who then? WHO GETS THAT SECOND START? Second Start Against the Spartan? So I vote Payton Durand I want we'll see what bill does. We'll see what bills in the bony does, but that's our fantasy and a beauty. The overall standings have met. One hundred and seventy nine, jeff at one hundred and forty nine point two, kyle at one hundred and thirty one point six, and Brittany at one hundred and twenty five point. Oh Roll, was it going to be a big what, well, I need to avoid is the week that Jeff had with that Kyle had, because if that happens, that gap is already gone. So it was gonna say I was seven points behind you last week. Now thirty. Holy it's a very seven points. I was so close. And the very last point that I thought I wanted to make sure I mentioned on this podcast is we are incorporating two new people to fantasy. Why? Here's how we're going to do it. Wait, what, I'm confused. We have solves and you win an election. Now you can say, where's the bowling process? We in America. Hold on time blond. Wait, dumb blonde over here is fairly content. I can I finish time up ruins. Hold on. Anthony strum and Anthony l tofo from grizzled are going to have their own fantasy challenge versus themselves. They're not with our own their people of former rims. They're not picking the two for every week, they're picking per month. From there by, I fully support this and and the player between the six of them that has the best month will be the grizzled player of the month. I missed grizzled. Then then the winner between the two of them, when they add in November, December, January, February, they'll final four months of the regular season. The winner between the two of them and shrum and deltufo advances to the ehl playoffs. Wait, this is some major t that the playoffs, the playoffs, will have one, two and three waiting to find out who for is, because for will play five in the playing rounds. But I'm calling tofo after we hang up immediately the so whatever. Whoever of the four of US finished as in last places in the regular season. You want to add me chill that that has to go earn their spot in the first round of the playoffs against the winner of grizzled. Oh, I can knocked out by when the these little red kids we're gonna have aniche. Wow, you know, you just wow. I love the idea of that because it helps out a partner of ours, grizzled. They're trying to push their brand even more and they, like I said, they're not thinking. So they're not picking per week, they're picking per month. So when you go to their pis for the month of November, Del Tufo has Colin Bella, Jack Johanson and rats Aleck from has Michael Car Ducci, Rory Gresham and LJ Newell. So at the end of each phantasy stayed by each week, while make sure to update you. Guys don't where they're at. Obviously be one of those six players have...

...played a game so far. That was was the like today, getting three point eight points against the Al Yeah, we seel can weed on the board this week and they so they have those guys for the rest of this month. Are those guys excluded from us being a little bit? Now it's they're going into each other, efferent from our challenge. Gotta wait. This is crazy. Yeah, yes. So now the key for us is how do we avoid the playing round any of the four of us, because then the first round puts number one versus number four, number two versus number three, the winner's face and and and we go from there. So that's how we're not wearing my grizzled or my revolution sweatcher till March. Wow, I'm still gonna get this. I was gonna wear my grizzled shirt and revolution stuff all the way through. So I guess I get listen boycotting. I've boy got a ways. That was the last thing I wanted to make sure I told you guys about on the podcast tonight and I'm excited about it. They're excited about it. Like I said, their challenge is different from our challenge. Yep, I will see what's one of the two of them will come out with all a saidden done and the best text of the day from deltofo to s from in our group text strum. It's war from here kids.
