Learn more at penalty box foundation dot Org. Once again, my name is Neo Raven. This episode number twenty nine and for the first time in the offseason, let's welcome back the Ecro Jeff Mills and Brittany Hart. What's up, guys? I think what I had to do is I had we were all mutually depressed for the past four months or whatever. It's good. I can't even tell you how long it's been. So I had to just take a break from the e crew because I think the last time we were on we were preparing for the second round of the playoffs. Hmm, I think that. I think that's for at and Jeff was in the lead of some sort and fantasy. I don't even know where the points for rat but I was like it's a beautiful thing then, thank you, Corona, and it's it's it's just tough. It's you know, we did all those team of the week features this offseason. I think I've got there about twelve teams so far. I have like five or six left, and it's so interesting to hear each of the comments, like the teams that lost are almost happy that they lost. It's like Josh Fosco said, if we had one, I wouldn't have had closure, but because we lost, I at least through the season was over, and isn't that's true. That's true, but's weird. It's like makes sense. It only one year. Would you ever want to say to yourself, I'm glad I lost the last game of the year because I would have never figured out what would have happened? Yeah, absolutely. What's a little crazy. I don't think we've ever, all three of us, have ever heard coaches or athletes and sports say, Oh, yeah, yeah, it was actually a good thing to lose. Huh? He wasn't the only one. No, on he was like thank God we lost. I would have punched a hole in the wall, you know, Bill, Bill Pie would have punched the hole in the wall. MMM, I went to one game at the seahawks two seasons ago. Have you ever been to that ring, Jeff? First of all, it's not the same rink that it was two years ago. Well, maybe it was. I went to Tony Kent. Okay, you and the Toby Keith. Yeah, okay, that's not where they played two years ago, but like that's the way it's called. The rank Jeff Toby key. Maybe it was like the bar first year. No, I think the first year was the only year. Was a Hyannas you think, community center. So what do you walk into the rink like where your where you would call a game as like right above your head like immediately, because you call it on the end zone and it's away from the locker room, and bill like comes up in between periods and I'm like build, there's still like eighteen minutes left to go. Or, sorry, thirteen minutes after go before the period starts. Yeah, I as walked in and punched a hole in the wall. I was like he goes. I'm so mad at the way they're playing. It is I just I hit the locker. It was softer than I thought it was Wilsana beauty. It's like literally I tapping it. I was tapping it really that it just kind of collapsed. I was like Oh, yes, right, I gotta fix that. Oh Bill. But Bill said he would have rather lost. Josh said he would have rather lost. Cody said he wish he had won the game against the spartans and then lost, because it would have been easier that way. I guess for him, well, I mean I guess. The closure that I found, I'm not sure about you guys, is that we were going into the second round and I remember the day was March twelve in the little flyers had beat Maryland that like afternoon. So the next day we were going...

...to start the second round. So it's the next day. I was supposed to be at the dead yeah, I was supposed to call every single games, every single game up north, because it was the wizards versus the Rangers and the avalanche first of the lumberjacks. I was calling every game. But like, if things had gone on for another week and then we had to cancel right ahead of the finals, I would have felt even worse. Yeah, I agree. Or like mid final was like magic. We started day one and then I was like, Oh my God, imagine Jesus I at all, if I guess, you would say as USA Jeff the League that shall not be named, hags. It done up in the mind they did. And I weren't you there. I was well games. It was a little weird. People were trying to dress up as as scouts. We had adults trying to dress up a scouts and Merrimac police from moving people. I think that's a good one to go bring up because, like remember how this all started. It was like, okay, we're going to keep playing games, but only a teams can come in. HMM, like and think about where we are now. Now we're trying to say the same exact thing for this upcoming fall. Now, at that time they were right, they were trying. They were like, you know, all the the a lot of teams that came from all over the place. As you know, that league is spread out like all over the country. Not We, we are in the ehl with just the eastern area. So you got teams from Minnesota coming in, the Carolina's, Florida. So they were all there. So they said, hey, let's try it and we got the morning games done and then after that they had a league meeting and they said we can't and all the professional sports were canceled. How can you continue to play when every other sport around you is canceled? So inevitably, they had bad luck fire playoffs too. Yeah, it was. It was dicey and everybody kind of knew it. Everyone's kind of looking around and talking to each other like Oh, we're here. HMM, all right, well, we'll try this and well, I don't know what's going on, but all right, will keep going and then and that's all, honestly. That's like, honestly, why I kind of felt bad for them. I know that we compete, but at the end of the day, like what everyone always does is like with hockey, it's just one big family. It doesn't matter where the teams are, what leagues are all that. Like. I talked to RC like this past weekend at the CCO showcase, our see, the coach of the Richmond generals. He said that his foot was hitting the ground like he was stepping off the bus arriving at the rink for the first time. And then the season gets canceled like and it's like, Oh my God, you travel from Richmond Virginia to Merrimack or, sorry, I think it's north and over Massachusetts, like Hmm, Oh my God, yeah, and that's not even the farthest, like the teams from across the Midwest or down in Florida, and that's like, you know, there were guys that reached out to me from like different media outlets. Are Like, thank God, you guys. You know, call it before. Teams have to travel. You know, the USPH shell didn't, but it's like, what are you? What are you supposed to do if you're them? The guys are already there. Like you have to try and make it work right. And also, it all happened fast. It was all that NBA game on that whatever night was what started the whole thing. Every ever there doesn't positive, and everyone was like we can't have athletes testing positive for this. Is this serious? And then is it serious? He didn't take it serious. Remember that. He's started touching everything. Yeah, there's my money, and Donovan Mitchell got it right, and then they're all pissed at each other. Then they recovered and then like a week, couple weeks later, where I just locked down though, and I'm like Yep, okay, that's what, we figured things out and then, yeah, we're all we're talking and how's everybody doing? And most of us were locked in our houses for a couple of weeks. It was like weeks longer than that, and mogs. So literally, Jeff, while, we're going to post a few screenshots from this. I mean, when did you shave last? Wait, we're all screenshots from this. Look at my hair right now, like what it's so right now the bun is actually above the...

...camera, so you can't. Okay, right now, my my, I have like my butt on the top, like as far as it can go, and then my hood is also on my head. It's a look. I'll tell you that for free. You're measuring your height for next year's roster. You'd probably add another intro to because I'm a high oh yeah, hard, oh yeah, I got. Look at that. I trimmed it up, Neil, as you guys. Sorry, I had it was a lot worse. Okay, I'm sure I trimmed all the side. So I'm trying to style it into a little thicker new version for the season, but I don't know. We're trying, we're trying things out. We're still the beginning. Stretched here. It's so quite the shelf going on. But Clean Shaven was before all this? No, well, you guys know I always have a beard but I keep it very, very tapered and very trimmed. So it was it was that it was like literally shaved. The last time I had like fully shaved was before my USPHL broadcast the end of the season and then. So that was mid March and then I was like it's enough to go on air. Weave the house for a little bit. So we grew it up like most people did, and the the girlfriend, styled it up a little bits. We're trying a little length on it but getting some mixed feedback. Decent about people like it and then some other people, some family, some sisters, are like kind of vibe with it. Thanks, Britt all right, see, neal, what do you think? What's we'll get the photes good. All right, thanks, man. You vibe wasn't too I do. I like it. I he's I think Brit's asking it all rest and I don't buy what's on my face. Like Neil, do you vibe with it? I don't. I don't vibe with Jeff's beard. I just tightness. You just don't buy with anything. It's just not in your vocabulary. Yeah, but it's. It's what's funny is like, you know, I have to admit when the whole thing first started, like I didn't take it seriously, and I wasn't the only one right, like I was like this will be over in a month, like we'll get to will get to May, and they'll be kids that reach out and say like Oh, you guys should never have canceled. You just have pushed through it, because I still have those messages from when we cancel the season. I got ten messages like right around what do you guys think you're doing, like we paid money for the playoffs, this and that, and then, like, as time is progressed, like it we're getting closer and closer to next season. We'ret and it's we are now closer to next season then we were when we can so old. Yeah, and we all thought that, Neal. We all thought maybe we could even reschedule it for like a very late like we talked about that at one point. Remember. We were saying like, Oh, it will be April or May, like it'll clear out and then maybe like beginning of May we could just I don't know, do like a makeshift frozen files something. The only thing I thought of with that is that, say even one player doesn't come back. Right, named a top player on the Rangers, are avalanche, or whoever advances. Right, say they connor bizarre. Okay, really, Jerrod? Yeah, okay, good example. Because say say he doesn't come back and then and then the rangers loose. What's the front? They wouldn't though behind time wasn't here and really wasn't a nut. So does account? No baby rebook carry him to the champions? True, I think. I think there needs to be an asterisk. Ne'St to that one. It's like, Oh, speaking of the word Asterisu, seem in sickness thing of bis trying to spell that word. Oh, he's because me trying to spell the word would be very similar to that. So we're not good. We hadn't see. I'm pretty smell. No, stress, no, no, no, no, no. What does it begin? Oh, trying to spell asterisk, it begins with today. That's a good what does it end with? Yeah, x Ah, why, that's knock over. This is me laughing and coughing the same time. That we have no neil has come. Stop It. Stop It. I will say this. So, Jeff, if you are planning to fly anytime soon,...

...oh, that was will get there. Gotta solve chest. I got a southwest and I was like this is an air plant, like this is very clean right now. Yo, still still use a thousand wipes just to make sure, but like I was like, legit, I half a pack of wipes on one way there. I was like, Yo, this is yeah, this is after white like two time. Where is really good? It's not after we go through security at in Boston and I had a hand sanitizer that was probably about we we're a little bit bigger than this. It was a good yeah, I had an airport. Yeah, it was a good twelve ounce, just like definitely over the limit and deep, and they were like doing all these like like liquid test to it and I'm like it's hand sanitizer, like I'll spray it on my hands right now and show you, like it's sanitizer. I'm not doing anything else with it. It's sanitizer. Oh, yeah, I'm sure everybody's traveled through it there like. But what was funny, and it was the crack of dawn. So I am pissed off. I had no coffee. I had to stand away for stupid, stupid hands. And there's an't anyone that knows Brittany morning she doesn't do well, especially without coffee. She needs her coffee. Yeah, so I didn't even have coffee the entire trip in Colorado. It was while Jeff, oh, wow, he'll so are you okay? You survived the all good? Yeah, it was funny is they pulled my backpack out because it had that it. But in my in the backpack, like you put them in those little containers to go through security. Well, Brittany's shoes also ends up in that single. Meanwhile I have TSA prechecks. I got my shoes on, my belt still on, my hat still on. I'm like all right, well, well this hang out here for ten minutes while they do these all these liquid tests on my sanitizer, which is eventually like ghetto, no shit, essentially. The guys like yeah, it's just hand sanitizer, you have it back. I was like big and I was like I can I make shoes that buddy old that's who's this Cretan woman you're traveling with. You without the shoes was so denver. Denver was fun, though. I mean what's different about the event this year than past years is typically it features a lot of premier talent. Obviously, with it being two months later, you you have more players that are just going of a home yet, but there's not as many teams that have to go, like if we were, if we had gone in May, we probably would have had fifteen teams go, but we go in July and Chris doesn't need guys, rich doesn't need guys. Go down the list. They have plenty of players already for this upcoming year. So well, I like. What I liked about it, though, is we I spoke in the seminars on Saturday night, so that that was funny. You know, there's there's just so many questions when it comes to junior hockey right. They have actually insane how much these parents don't know. Well, and what's funny about Colorado is if you don't want to play high school hockey, which the way, high school hockey's Shane's high school hockey, unless you're playing in Minnesota, it doesn't matter. No offense. Massachusetts is pretty decent, yes, but in in but even matth Minnesota, know people are going. I mean some kids this year did go d one out of mass high school, Anthony, marry to northeastern. How are you? Yeah, so it's just this is I believe that mass high school hockey's trending in a certain way, that away from the top programs. But that being said, all right, so you don't play high school hockey in Colorado, you want to go play midgets, it's the rampage or the thunderbirds and that's it. So all these kids are like, I don't bring tiger thing. He's yeah, but if you don't make one of those teams, right you're saying screwed. Like I'm getting the question. Should I sixteen year old kid stay here and play for one of those teams, are playing for his high school, or come out and play for the EEHL and the EHLP? He'll have to miss his prom and other events with his friends. You're not the parent. That's a pair of space to make as a commissionary. You know, you think. Personally, I don't really remember my high school proms, not...

...that I just was a long time ago, like it was, oh yeah, it's prom, like you're old. One of them. Have to prioritize. Is Hockey more important or is you know, going I mean I'm turning thirty next year, so I so my like I went to Prom for thirteen years ago. I don't Oh my God, Mealhi, Hashtag, meal is old. Yeah, thank you. I'm older than Neil Brittin. And then one of the I's gonna go. I'M gonna go take my nap. I was gonna give you a look there really like hello, but like I say that, I like, well, it depends on the program right. Like if you feel comfortable about the EHLP team that's offering you a spot, like go take it. Like for some of our top EH LP programs, they move up eight or nine guys per year to the Ehl the next year and then after that. So, yeah, it's two years of junior hockey, but sometimes you have to, you know, take that step just to see what it's like. You know, we talked about all the time on this podcast the kids that play premier and we're like they really should be higher up by now. You know, the Johnny Malandriclo is putting up a hundred whatever points, like they should take that jump. But you'll watch this year to riches credit, like a kid like that, because he spent the whole year there and got a small taste of the EHL, he'll be that much better, rather than just rushing him through. So trying to like teach these parents the steps of the ladder was hard. Oh yeah, absolutely. And, like you said, every team, every organization, rich has a certain, you know, organization that he's built. He's got his own chemistry and that's a good move. You want to bring a young guy like Johnny into a building that. They were very cohesive team. Everybody's very close. You were not that they would, you know, ostracize him if he came in, but, like you said, you want to keep that glue together. That ship was, we don't want to do a sale pressing row, but it was sailing man. It was sailing out to see and you know, you just don't want to bring in New People. You'd rather them start out fresh. And bring him in this season and you know he yeah, of course he put up Wayne Retzky like numbers in the PA, but there were still plenty of competition and plenty of things for him to work on. Even when he scored, you know, six or seven goals in the game, I'm sure rich and Keith were going back and saying, Hey, you know, good game, but hey, what about this edge work? What about this you know, hit, you miss his past, you miss, and they work on the still look at the negative things on the tape. It's not always, you know, strawberries and rainbows. There was one question. It was my son seventeen, turnousand and eighteen next year. Why isn't he been drafted in the USA showing that? Yeah, Ma'am, I'm gonna, I'M gonna want to walk away from this conversation. I want to talk about talent, but like might be and she's like well, that being said, like, could he climb the ladder from your league up to the USA show when you're eighteen? No, sorry, but probably not. But at the same time, I think that the best way. I found the answer as like listen, if you're good enough, doesn't matter where you are, they're gonna find us. Like good time to bring in Dominic's marks and cabbage former hl just so he could drafted by the Minnesota wilderness in the NHL, like twin if you are setting out that anywhere. Yeah, they wouldn't. They're not going anywhere without each other. So when they took one of them, I was like all right, well, if they didn't talk to them, then they're not going. But Dan, you only ever to both of them. I was like, okay, yeah, they remind me of the city brothers. Europeans like to Britney's points. So like, all right, the kid has a team, may not climb the ladder to the USHL, but the kid has sixteen and Kingen Primo, take away his name right, but he was good enough. They found him and he climbed the ladder. Blake bride was good enough. They found him. Any claimed the ladder. Dominic Martian Cavitz, not the biggest kid in the world, knows, but he's a tiny one, but he was good enough and he climbed the ladder. On Weldmila, let's not forget about Tanila. Yeah's exactly ringfield. I'll Larry honest.

Yes, he's a playing for Springfield JUD loose. Yeah, so eh LP to ehl to NA. Will see where he goes from there. That's going to be the most interesting thing to watch is all these kids from Europe and out of the true like, are you even gonna be able to get in this country? Like it's you just got so they just got drafted to Minnesota and it's not like Larry Onnos who already played you. Have they already know what he's all about? These kids or run from the NCDC? Never going to go to the NA and hi. You can't really get me here. Why are they still in the states? Like word dominics and pat they're from Latvia. Okay, so maybe they're probably as far as I know that they are back in Europe. Yeah, my knowledge, I they could come here. US leaving this country going elsewhere's very hard at this time. Yeah, they can come here, though it changes every day. So, like, I think they can come in. We are getting banned from like every any like US citizens. Most places are like the Bahamas. Just said. You can't go there for the foreseeable future. And but Europeans like some of the Bruins had, you know, David Posture, knock and David Creecy, some of those guys were over in Europe and had to come back and they were let in. But then you have to do the quarantining protocols and whatnot. So which is whild with the esterday's announcement. Yesterday New York, New Jersey and Connecticut all said if you are coming to our states from the falling states you have to quarantine before you come in, quarantine when you get here. One of the state's listed was Maryland. I'm like, like, I don't know if team Marilyn can begin the season in New Jersey and just hang out there for a while. I mean, but like the only thing I could say is it's July twenty one, so hopefully things change. The most interesting thing to watch will be, I think it starts next week, the NHLA. The will teams have, like every team has like one exhibition game and then they start to play in in the count and the round robin rounds at the beginning, like the first and second of August. Okay, if that mean that's sets it. That goes well, that helps us. I was just gonna say that's a good doesn't go well. If that doesn't go well, I know it feel good. Well, Gus, and think about like you said, go back to March, right the pros canceled, and then that's what we were having. The conversations of Mermac like every other pro sports canceled right now. Why does why is in junior hockey do we think we can play, but the NHL, the NBA, the end up like none of them can play like they set the park is there the professional sports and then everything else, college juniors. I mean look at college talk. You're right. Now everything is still a lot of these teams that came out and made announcements for the fall. Bentley, northeastern wire work for their fall sports have been suspended, not canceled. So they've already made announcements. That's the whole like the different words suspended, canceled, postpone. There's a different meeting for each one. Right. But you guys both though, Neal Britt like, when you're looking all these statements, as the first thing you read, you like, okay, suspended and something canceled. Okay, so cross that off the list. This okay, we may play in the spring. Well, how are you going to balance that? Like a lot of college hockey, that kind of lot of the march not, sorry, until January first. I think that's that's my takeaway is the January first date. I think almost everyone's going to get there. But what's tough about the world we live in is we can't all just say together, everything's done till January first. It's been one league or one team at a time, but it reals like college hockey is going to be. Everyone's going to get the January first play a conference only schedule from there and then to start over the next year. The one thing that that the EHL has going full for us are that we have no fans. So we could we could control. We can control...

...the amount of people in the building. That's a true deal. We do have fans. Jesus, Jeff. There was a game last year at the edge where I am calling the game and you have you met Jim the scorekeeper, Jim the square keepers, like a first story. Jim, the World War Two veteran, nicest guy in the world, doesn't have Internet at his house as a flipphone, and he just goes to the he just goes to the rink every day to like look at a few emails and then, if there's a game, he stays for a bit longer. HMM. JIM LOVES TO ANNOUNCE THE STARTING LINEUP. But Typical Freddy, who's not with the league anymore. We'll talk about that. Talk about the coaching changes ready. Always like wanted to get out immediately. I Freddie could play every gem at eight am and then leave by ten. Perfect, like he can go do the rest of his stuff. So he would always have jim like announced the starting laughs as the teams are like getting on the ice, or like I was there like about to get on the ice, like at a weird time. So we announces it one game and I'm like, I am the only person here, like the trainer hadn't ended up out of the locker rooms yet. There's nobody in that lower bowl at the edge. He was announcing to you. So I'm like, as a play by boy man, you're getting the exclusive PA announcement. I'm like, Whoa, here we go, and that's what Merrimack was like new. That was like the I think that was like the very first time. I've like same thing where I was the only person in the building and it's just like someone scores. It's like like the player's office, the chair on the boards, stuff. You just like right, no, he like helody in here, not a single human. That's the red SOx played a game last night. They put an exhibition game last time, played against the Blue Jays. They lost. What. Yeah, you're a little I got a word of my phone the game it ended. I was like Jad and I spoke to right field. Nice, homer and and that's what I was going to say. I saw the home run of the one I'm as. I saw the home run and I'm like, I've never seen Fenway Park for a baseball game and completely empty. It's creepy. It was in Boston, it's Austin, it's the new will put quotations around new normal. For now, I think they're going to eventually have to let fans into if the NFL is going to do it. Let's already announced they're going to do sixteenzero fans, if allowed, you know, state regulatory authorities and rules and stuff, and I think people, I think will be eventually, hopefully, will eventually be able to allow our creations, fans back in the building. Right. So, all the parents, all the mom mom squad, mom squad. I'm squad dude. I get to see some of mom s call this week. I'm fired up those albs MOMS. They're always there, at least the ice that is always the Ice Tad is always consistently. Even when I filled them for your kneel for like the afternoon Weekday Games, there's still twenty thirty people in there. You know, I Chris thinks that they are always there. Right, the snack chick. Chris believes that the parents come, especially in the MOMS, because he's so handsome. The Italian stallion literally cannot say I can't wait to see everyone. This is gonna be weird, though, like when I see all you guys the first time, it's like, can we hug? We High Five? Got Do this one right. So do it all the snow they say hugs are better than anything. For some reason they're saying that hugging is actually like the safest thing. I was like really, Chris gets to my car to ride a catekire for the meeting on Tuesday, when he just takes his shoes off, puts the feed on the for driver. Also, he doesn't care. He never he proceeds to send me a photo of meal. He sends me a photo of Vinny and he sends me, look, here's the photo. Look, there he is. Yes, here's vinny, go those Tan legs, and then he'll you just look like you just saw a ger jumped into the middle of the street. You Up to a reflection of chriss Shiny Tayan Italian legs on his this corner of his eye, and then I literally just go lol, he goes what he didn't think that was funny. I thought it's hilarious and I was like my God, and you do the Chris Laugh. I'm not...

...rich. That's Sorell will be high five and everybody. That's fine, we're good, honey. What's funny? Jeff is so April. We couldn't do anything May. Since may thinks of like opened up a couple things. I've closed back down, open back up whatever. Right. I'm in New Hampshire now, as you know, like, Yep, this state's motto is lived for your die. HMM, wow, like people do that? Like I don't think there's people in the state that believe that the coronavirus is still a thing. I go to the grocery store. I see people in there like s just shorts, t shirt, flipfops, no mask. Yeah, isn't the whole point to where I'm at? If you go to Massachusetts, you have to wear a mask, but surprisingly, yeah, you do it. Surprisingly that there's no numbers in New Hampshire. There's like no cases. It's wild New Hampshire, Maine, I mean all of New England's doudent fantastic. Right now, mass right island, you have to wear your mask everywhere? Yeah, we do, but they've done really well to Ramondo's as you should she looked. Wear a mask when I go to a WH when Cerella sends me to good old market basket, you know that I'm wearing my masks. Big said. It's just, you know, you're just protecting other people more. That's just, you know, because it's funny. When did you get that? Because you did not have that. Those bad boys have you all my I almost murdered neil over the concepts of a face mask this weekend. Oh boy. Okay, do you want to answer your question first? You want to talk about how you almost murdered me on the podcast? When meeting? Anyways, I was at the chiefs rink for the scheduling meeting on Tuesday doing to Bob Dolesio is the equipment manager for the team, and I don't know if you met him yet, Jeff, you'd love his stories because he spent time with the Providence Bruins. A couple proteins like stories Galore. He helped us out with the Allstar we go also, so he bought these like black mass for every all the all the coaches, because most likely you're going to wear a mask on the bench this year. Coaches will. Yeah, and he just grabs one of the League patches that I'm passing out to all the all of our team sport on their jerseys, goes downstairs, heat presses it onto here, comes back up and what gives it to me? I'm like, that's awesome, thanks, and he makes us a few more. I'll take one now to pay for a happy too. Britney's story. You have to wear a mask the entire time. On the airplane I had one of those n ninety fives going because, because Vicky were all this. Yeah, Vicky Works Lasso, so she has access to those right and like serious, my face is starting to hurt like it and it's currently ears back. And yes, I brought it up a few times. Brittany, I want to get one of those lost seven times. I want to get one of those neck gators that like yeah, to go to like three as into stores looking for these, and I was like, Shurry, called before we go so you don't waste your time. Nope, they obviously talk. Get there. They didn't have them. I was like no, Shit did you didn't go, like I said, but none listens to me. So that's fine. It's right here. I'm trying to think neck gators. It's like it's like those things, like what bars to was selling them the things. It's like, I don't know, oh, he's a cloth that goes over your neck. Year, Oh, yeah, yes, yeah, it's like a band daisy point too. I said to Neil. No one calls it that. What do you have to know what it was? Okay, what do you call the Yankees are where? What's covering? What's the name? Clint Frazier's where when the other is yeah, that's caught on the bar Sol. Let's say face covering. You'RE gonna see a lot of players where those. I think all those little more breathable. Have you tried one? I haven't. I haven't tried it, but they look like it are they look a little more comp the n ninety fives. I have one my girlfriend's mothers in the just like Vicki and the medical industry, those are a little like suffocating. I was like don't things? Yeah, like those things, just like you feel like Bain and battles, like I'm dying, but like the thinner...

...of clock manor even darth vader good called great of vibes, little Vader, a little babe, you know, a little, but you have to keep it off with the whole flight and it just it just gets uncomfortable, right, because you're on a plan for four and a half hours. Now on the way back, there's nobody near you on the plane. We think right, there was not as was low key paying for those like Ta Ten people bill on the plane back. I thought, jet, think every single person on the flight had a whole road of themselves. Wow, there was nobody coming from Denver to Boston. No, we truck to the back us in the sea coast squad. We're like, all right, to the back of the plane we go. Let's go, men. And I didn't get the pilot's name, but we gained about forty five minutes in the way back and I was like yes, let's wow, I don't like a little bit of a wind patch somewhere. But we were zooming. Good job on named bear zooming. And then and then so we're zooming. Look at this arts and pick I took. Look how cute that's lay something in New York, I but Buffalo. That's so plus airlines. that a no, we're we're I have to get. I'm to take an uber back to my home, which is not closed. By I mean, okay, it's not far, but it's water. I'm standing out there keeping O it's humid as can be and we just came from Colorado, where there's no humidity, and I'm like come, I walk off to your front of like okay, this is nasty. Get me back to that. Others date we were in and it's like lift shortage and I'm like, oh, that's so good, like thank God, is raving for like I don't know, twenty minutes for them to even locate me. I'm driver. Oh well, times right now. I'll tell you what, Brittany, if you move north of Boston, you're gonna ride everywhere. I don't want to give you just went to Lillians and we were WHO's driving? If she moves the Vicky, pick me up and drop off each way, but like we're we're north of Boston for Oh yeah, yeah, bridgewater. I just vote that we bring back a team who does who used to be in the League, whose rank is next to half. That has nothing to do with getting you to and from the airport. Oh, I know that. Yes, I'll scoot. They could pick me up. They wouldn't even have to go out of their way. They would just like drive past my street do trig wave. I'm sorry that your time was wasted. Sunday night. Have you recovered with with sleeper now? I whist up till eleven am the past to days. Awesome. So he's up till nine. I am called. At the time that was Brunie's like number one thing the entire time you were there, Jeff, just Oh, it's five pm now it's seven all the time. Difference. It's seven at home. Meanwhile do that to bread. It's weird. I don't know why. It's something like yeah, I think you just like it's like you're stuck in your own time zone. So you go another one. You're like, Oh, this is fun and different. Yeah, right. And, as you know, Jeff, hockey guys never want to call it a night. They just keep going. Yeah, my God here cannot do that. The first night. Brittany call it. It's the youngest of all of us, but she's yet no. I'll give her credit, though. She called it about fifteen. So that's the best one. Fifteen. Yeah, right, me, it's about it was about thirty eastern time when I was like I am toasts, like I am, I am out, I'm done. But then they wanted to do it again the next night. I'm like, Oh my God, can we go home already? We were there for two nights. It felt like a week and a half that but someone or some of our showcase nights we've had, you know. Don't know. Oh God, you know the Crewm Day to I I'm getting a left, I'm getting out of here. Isn't the worst. Disclose the details, Jeff. But never forget the providence day when I had a hot mic going and you were just telling stories. Oh yeah, to be like that sometime. But Justin's like is your mic on? I just heard? Oh Nice, that's yeah, wait, what up? Turn that off. We went and hike some state park on Sunday.

Jeff, did you see my facebook pictures? Wow, I saw I don't know if I think it's because I saw something. I saw. You said something about leaving Colorado. Look like you got it. You have to see it, though, like like we're out there and I'm like this is not real, like it doesn't never been the Colorado. That is a place. The need to go especially I would go back when it's non covid hours. Yes, is it weird out there? I was going to ask you guys too. That's okay. You all right. So if you try to drive through downtown Boston, good luck to you. I wish you the best if you go drive through downtown Denver. Took a stroll in the park, like you can. You just have and drive down the street. If you're driving to downtown Boston, I can't do it. I literally cannot do it. In twenty minutes. Jeff, I was like, I'm driving Britty as the directions. I put in Pepsi Center. pull up, take a picture. Io Pup put in Mile High Stadium. We like quick note about the Gepsi Center. I'm like, drive around the back. They're doing covid testing at the pudday centers. All right, you need a covid test. Turn around. Why are they evilent urn even gonna be there? They're going to be bad to say there, there, right now. Okay, they practice at the at the pepsis better their own practice. Drink. I don't know where the practetrick would even be. But they were there because we passed a few very nice cars that Brittany was we with, passed a Lamborghini and I was screaming. I was like it probably wasn't him, but okay, it was definitely somebody on that team, for he just wins a lambo on the rockies. So well, like it could be like twenty minute. We pulled up next to the Pepsi Center and then pull up next to the football field and then course field and draw back like you can't do that in Boston. I mean now you get a little bit. It's a traffics a little better at starting at worse, as people are some more places are starting to bring people back to work. But but I will say this, like part we took ninety five back from Connecticut yesterday at four or five o'clock. Normal. That's a hell of a drive even no matter what you do, you're stuck in traffic. We just have to is nothing. It's funny because, like people have asked me all the time, like how has this impacted your work? Well, we were two weeks away from the season ending. I work from home to begin with, so I kind of just flipped in the offseason mode and nothing's changed. But it almost feels like office work is going to be like a thing of the past because people have worked from home for so long that is office space really that necessary? Not For that, for the EHL, but for all businesses. You've all I'm saying. Yeah, companies are all this. Look, no, absolutely, a lot of companies are actually announcing that they're like they we're only going to have people old. It's the start of the all. We're going to people's coming to the office only two days a week now and home for three. But then the next step is bad. What do we need them in for two days? Like you just said, overhead, how much does it cost of electricity bill, the rent? Get rid of its work from home and people might be more productive, be the not have to drive and get stuck in traffic and have to get dressed and do all the different crazy stuff. You can just where you've been. Had to move. Where's out of the office? They're like, okay, everyone's moving their stuff out so we can deep clean this place. Yeah, that's everywhere. Everywhere has been deep bombed and ye had to like make an appointment. Duncan brands. They're not messing around. My brother works for capital one down in DC and when this all happened they like immediately started doing an up, an update to the subway station that's next to his office, which there's only like one way to get there. So I don't know the whole thing, but he was like the unless you're driving yourself, which there's only like limited parking spaces for like the big big wigs or whatever. He's like, you physically cannot get there. So he gets an email saying don't...

...plan on returning to the office until at least two thousand and twenty one. No, Woh, okay, that's easy enough work. Sounds good to me. He's like, I think they don't want as it. I think most places are waiting for the vaccine, I guess. And then the thinking that by January we may have it for mixed opinions on that. Mixed. Don't don't ask words. Don't ask for it's rich. I need to get don't need to get political. All Right, let me cross it off my return to Ehl list. You'll talk about the vaccines. You Watch it be here on the date, November third. I was like, okay, that's we're not gonna lie about this, right, but I have to answer, which is text tank. Sweet, we will kneel not that you can give us too much insight, but how is scheduling going? Speaking of rich and so you guys looking at four so far. We were supposed to have five showcases this upcoming year, the first three being in mass mask has been labeled as a hockey in mask has been labeled as a high risk activity by the governor. Okay, I could change, but with him labeling at that, the mass teams physically can only practice. If it was today, they can only practice, not play a game. Okay, so we met yesterday and I'm just like how am I gonna like structure this? So I had all the mass teams on one side of the table and all the non mass teams on the other side. This is just teams from the chiefs up, because, and ask them mean I see how the team self and so I have them all lined up and I'm like, when you're done one side, just rotate one seat down with because you're working across from you, and then when you're finished with that, then you could book with your sides like Cuz it's tough, because you don't. I don't. I don't want a team in mass to sit down and book all the teams at once and then another team from mass sits down and you know everyone's already done with that, done with the team before, because we have to give each team the ability to book some games in September and October. The tough part is is they think this thing they spike aget in November. So it's like, are we going to get to November? Everyone's done twenty games and then we're don't come back till Martin Luther King weekend. It's so tough to say. But we took out the three mass showcases immediately and we're going to substitute those games with local games. Also. You'll keep them in your conference and all the EHL teams will play three games in Newington in December and three games in eggster in January, and then we have like a bunch of open dates and February to add a showcase on the fly if we can. So yeah, September was supposed to be wall pole and then October was wooster. Yeah, September is Worcester and wall poll in October and Haveril and November. The thing about it all birthday showcase. Some sad. Well, so is it? So everything's changed. How's man? How soon do you guys have to like definitely acts those well, like you said, as things are moving on, like what if next month that they it's not even so much about the virus at this point, because college coaches cannot do off campus recruiting right now until August thirty one, typically. What the when the season and, as they said, a date of like April thirty one or whatever, and then it picks back up again. They've extended a month every month of the summer, as this thing hasn't gone away. So to think that in September will be able to pack the House with College Scouts is unlikely. Samon, October and November, a number of college coaches have said to me that, you know, they're inside. Sources have said to them early assist Thanksgiving, like at the absolute earliest, around that time. So what's the point of getting together for a showcase if they can't be there anyways? Because that's what the showcase is about. Showcase heads...

...or showcase showcase your talents to this. So have them play at home, save money on travel and please just make sure your hockey TV broadcast look good. That's going to be yeah, that's gonna be very important. This year hockey TV. That's wet. Dream about hockey TV. Last night was a little concerned. Oho, that's never great when you're as a STU dreaming about hockey TV. Like how good the hug? How who dreams about an online streaming service? No, no, but it was like it was like a broadcast. Like I've a dream that I was just ripping up the ice down, per usual, nothing new there, and we put like the Dan our thing like at like center ice and I was just interviewing like, I don't remember who, like at the end of the game when we like zoomed in on the camera, even though the camera is on the wall. So I don't really know how that would work. But why would I move an eight foot banner that's eight feet tall, ten feet while? Why would why would we put it right in the middle of the Ice Rink? I don't know. Meal that sounds awesome. Dreams are not controlled, so I can't tell you. I have no answer for you. This was something in Britt's subconscious. Sure we're getting into science too early for sides. It's way big reason why I wanted to have you guys on here at this point of the summers, because hockey is supposed to come back with the NHL. You know, fingers crossed it goes well. Share a few laughs here, because it feels like to me, it almost feels like an April, May and June. I've been kind of just holding my breath, like this thing's getting worse, this thing is getting worse and things getting worse. But then we went on a plane. So, but, and that's the thing, like part of me feels better since that trip because good, I was really anxious going into it. I didn't tell bride. I'll give you a better reading. One's battle Boston, at ieat Battle of Hartford Connecticut. Now is over. Like but, like I go on the plane and I'm like, you know what, like people are making the effort to keep things clean, try and keep things safe, like it just it. If it made me feel a lot better because I hadn't gone outside of New England since this thing had started and obviously I still haven't. I was I was Sunday night when we fire. I'm so lost. We fought, we flout Friday morning at the grand dawn, like Vicky was like you need to calm down, like you're not going to sleep at all tonight. Like you need to just relax. People are going to be wearing masks or going to have a mask on, like out there it's fresh air at the same time like it, but being back in a rank again and then seeing how we could all interact in a rank even under the new normal, as you said, like HMM. I was like we can do this, like we can do this, we can get through this, like it was hadn't been in a rank since the whole thing had happened. HMM. Well, it was like, all right, I feel better now. If the NHL can pull this off, if we can start to schedule things, maybe this year. It's going to be tough to get through and we may have to make a million scheduling changes on the fly. MMM, well, we're going to get through it. Yep. We may finish in April or Bay or Bay, but we're gonna get it done. Let's say we're gonna have a busier usually we tail off like in the spring. Now our springs are just going to be like on steroids. Yeah, all of us. It's just going to be like we're anning. Doesn't beginning of the season will be like, all right, this is weird. September October, November, December, kind of like, okay, then Januarine's to be like fair fretting off to the races. But well, you know, we'll do it best and in on deck. We know plenty of people. You know, we will be able to navigate through it. And, like you said, the biggest thing is like this week baseball comes back, next week Hacki comes back, like there's real games this week. So like,...

...how does that all? You know and all that. I feel the same way too, neils, like you see all these teams now in the bubble, in the NBA, the NHL. They're testing daily. They're all practicing again. NHL Guys are hitting each other. You see in the yeah, other videos on instagram and stuff, and their tests. And every day I saw Brandon Carlo. They've been the BRUINS. AM doing all this fit test, which I guess that's what it is for the whole and I fillip you to fill up the whole entire cup, and they're doing that every other day. I think it is so I mean they're all our temperature taken in Denver when we went into the rank. They were they will in testing everyone's temperature. When I was so prettiest. I better how started sprinting him, because I'M gonna get really hot and then they're gonna take my temperature and tell me I'm like a hundred and two. I was like, okay, I use literally Ding. I was joking. Everyone, relax. That's be's a crazy thing when you feel like how to cell. You feel like your body tempature went up like three degrees, but reality went up like maybe half a degree. Again, literally, though, if your bodied to temperature, it must I was putting my fullblown forehead onto the black Toyota Camry we have. I don't think it would have got up. Learned a lot about Bernie over the weekend, though, Jeff, you haven't not already, you guys were like if I get in the car to drive with her, like I need to turn the car on immediately, like, Oh my God, I heard the hat. I hate that. He, I hate that, he, I hate the like this second I do hard like hum, gonna put the windows out, like put air on. Holy said. I'm likes what I'm man, sweat machine. I in the same way bread. I sweat like that. I was just like, okay, I'm turning it on and then, like when we would stop to get somewhere, like open the door, close the door. She's at the door. I'm like, Jeez, can you give me a second to get out of the car, get my bear, put my phone in my pocket, that my wallet, that I'll meet you inside, because you're sprinting inside. All Right, listen, I'm a fast paced human being. I don't think this is new news. No, it's not new to war. It's not. But very fast paced. You would being Britain. We've all seen worked with you for many years now. Doctor, I've gotta go buy I gotta go do this. The past week has made me feel better. They're going to Denver. Good, do it. Getting half of the scheduling done, going to ask to one. There's Day get more the scheduling done. And right now we're still scheduled to starts number eighteen at Providence. Confidence will be there, buddy, you, you, it may be it maybe the three of us, the officials and the teams, and don't worry, you do being sound enough for every fan. I'll I'll take one for the team. You have to video you ringside. So we're doing like our whole like finals are frozen, finals kind of set kiss though yeah, right, cool. I'm ready already have my outfit and you think I'm milking you know, you think that I'm setting but I literally that carry over from March. So that's from like four months ago. I've been re using some of my finals fits. I was going to wear one in Denver, but now it's too big on me. I was a little rattled. Oh, now they're in the outfit segment. To Neil, you'll appreciate this actually pretty you will to being the fashionist do you are? I was. I went like suit shopping like a week before we were about to the frozen finals and like liked a few different suits and I was like I was gonna probably get, like try to get three or four, rotating some new ones with the ones I have now. I was like, you know what, some of them just didn't fit right. I was like, I'll come back. I was rushing to another game and then all this happened and I didn't spend like a thousand plus dollars like suits. Wasn't that kind of like yeah, so you're telling me you didn't, you didn't buy one sixteen hundred golf clubs in March and then not be able to use them till they no. I'm golfing at story time. Shut up, like I want to hear it. I had the month of April. I feel even better about it. I just those we're looking to use it. He was a forty five yester neel one cody go golf and every other second of the day. I...

...know it's awesome urks of being the director. Nice for piece of what's going on and you're doing business. People realize that the golf course is this. You Go. I'm sure you guys are talking about the HL. It's not just like. My next round that I'm heading too soon includes a business meeting for three holes, with hockey TV the rest of the time. You want. We probably won't talk business, but we're going to talk business for a little bit, except where we have some new things we want to work into our broadcast for this year just to make them that much better, because that may be the only way we people can consume the Games. Yeah, we're going to be very important to you. A little extra pressure. Come on, I'm calling the game now. That's for sure. A lot more years it could be listening this year. All game this year. I see this every year and you're at least like toy, will make a debt and then I never do what I'm pretty sure I'm very capable of doing. So we have to have a pretty on color for Lee. I think Brittany would be very good at color because she knows all the all these guys, the personalities, you know, most of their stories, where they've came from, the stuff like that. That's all important stuff to tell people at home so they know listen. We can't all be me. We can't. You know, it's a hard life a lab you know, we just can't all be me. We can't do it. But I think that's right. The game perfect final transition into the last story. That the what we're all wearing today, right. You know, the virus has been has been hard enough, but we are each have a Quinn Robel shirt on today. Like I think that moment of what happened to him, a former player in the league that passed away from cancer, that was like a piece of like closure and away from me, because I was like, all right, it's the press, seeing everything else that's going on, but seeing that happen to a former player who's no longer with us and then he was tied in with neutral zone, who Brittany works for newchral zone as well. Like that, I was like, okay, there's sticking. There's a lot more going on than just the virus and like not being able to play hockey games or be able to watch sports like and that's why I wanted to make sure the next time that we got on we all showed our support for Quinn and his quest by what it wearing one of these shirts. So I'm going to make sure that when we do post this podcasts or to repost that link, because what was awesome about that whole thing is these shirts were created by JP Netian, who played for Wilkes Barre and now goes to kings. So like, I don't think he ever played with Quinn. But what's so awesome about our league? And it's yeah, you want to see teams be rivals and compete against each other and at times hate each other, but the end of every game, you may not see it this year, but at the end of every game it's so cool to see the players give an extra tap to a guy that they know right and like with our league, and I'm sure it's with a lot of leaks, like somehow everybody knows everybody and you see it after every game and jp new, New Quinn and a lot of people new Quinn and this remember jp to what I remember JP nutition and and this is how I wanted to end it on this because, you know, it just really pulled it all full, full circle for me, because I was like all right, you know what, like when this thing ended, I was pretty crushed. I'm sure you guys were two that we couldn't see things out. But then like to see other things that have taken place, and it's not just Quinn right like in the middle of the playoffs it was jerry domes, his son, and to see how his team then went and won a playoff series without him, it's like how does that even? Like they were they lost in one of that series six to one and they want two games in a row and won that series. IS GOING TO BE UNDERDOG? Yeah, and and then you know for everyone that you know we're not going to get political with the the if the virus is real, dish of that. Like there's been a few parents of players that have passed away from this virus, like and it's just...

...made everything, like I said before, a little bit closer in a way, but like there's so much more that takes place away from the rank and off the ice that I've been able to like all right, yeah, it's a depressing time right now, but at least so we can, I can wake up and enjoy a conversation with you guys, or go to call out of this week in our golf thirty five times Brittany. Like there's a lot more going on. Like I can, I can, I can handle what's taken place and we will get through this. But I have to also feel lucky that it Knocka Wood. It has an impact to me the way that's impacted a lot of other families. So I wanted to make sure we all got this. What was funny, Jeff, is I think I sent you the link. As soon as Jap came out with them in, Brittany already had a sweats for ordered. I'm like, of course I should. I should have known. I should have known she would, because she has about sixty five sweatshirts and it's like like we're it's like her favorite piece of clothing, but I I if I can wear have sweatshirts, but she loves to sweat, so it's like if I can really use a sweatshirts for it. I have the a lot of sweathirts I have bought over quarantine is at least seven. Yeah, minimum, it's fine. But if I could wear this under dress close to a showcase this year, you know I'm going to like Cuz same time as in our league and it just hear more about his story and the know that he had, honestly, he had beat cancer once but then he came back. A's just tough and if we can start on September eighteen, I have to figure out how I want to write it, but we will definitely be doing a moment of silence to remember Quinn, to remember Jeremy Domes and to remember everyone that's been affected by this virus. Without a doubt, just give me the chills. That's sorry about that. No, you're no abs I thank you. It's it's like you said, it's you have to appreciate the small things in life that you can just wake up and put your feet on the ground, because some other people can't. And it's just, it's said, loose kids like Quinn and Jerry's Jerry's son, and now you put the nail right in the head Neil, it's true. If the that's in yeah, it is. Me and my girlfriend talked about that too, like how weird this virus is kind of like brought people closer together, like you said, more people working from home, and like seeing your significant others more because your schedules aren't as crazy. And you didn't. We didn't get to see a lot of our families for a while when we're in the heavy quarantine and you couldn't have groups larger than ten and and you finally get to see them after monster like. Well, it was last time. I haven't seen your mom and dad or like people like that. Right. Did you finally get to meet your niece? Yes, I finally got to meet my niece and fe you're for four old. They're almost four months old, though, and it is that they've been to the whole thing. It just makes you appreciate those moments more, like it does without a doubt. If you want to call me stuff, I don't care. When I get the providence next with this league, whenever that is, for the finals, I will probably break down. That will be said to use. Yes, because we've made it back, but it makes you, it's just going to make me appreciate things that much more. HMM, that's how I wanted to end it. So I can include it a screenshot. Why don't you each hold Oh, I literally look like I don't hit by boss your face, cover your face. So I'll include a screenshot of this. So we'll dedicate that episode to Quinn for sure, and and, like I said, Jeremy Domician, every other family that's been impacted by this. And we'll get you guys back on here soon, probably after we release the full schedule. I'll give it a week or so to make sure that there's gonna be some changes right away. I'm sure you can talk matchups. We can start yes, getting actually the brass tacks and we can restart fantasy for a full season. And here you kids propose. I want to carry over the point totals from Oh, absolutely not. Sounds good, done, whoo, but that's bes okay. Well, it's like all on it offline. So the e crew...

...jumps us. We're going to give it. No, it restarts. What's with the bullshit carrying over? Absolutely not. It's years start fresh, New Year, new points, New Year, knew me, New Year, new it. Just now. Nope, rattled and at that point. The Queen has shut the idea down. No, it's supert. Are you saying the last year's points are not good for the brand? Correct, they're horrible for the iron said that in a minute. WHOO, I I've like all your catchphrases and great into my brain. Oh, there's plenty of new ones. Just wait, we will see a goose save those of the future podcasts were loose. All these fans thanks a lot of different platforms this year. We'll get to that part too. Yeah, thanks for coming on, guys. Thanks Neil, thanks Britt. Goodbye. Thanks for listening to the e show.
